Abstract

The success of students in solving math problems is supported by students' positive attitudes towards learning in the classroom such as interest, curiosity, and self-efficacy. Self efficacy greatly affects students' persistence in solving problems, based on this condition, students tend to be less confident in their own abilities, therefore researchers are interested in digging deeper into students' ability to solve mathematical problems. This article aims to describe creative self efficacy in solving problems based on polya stages. This study uses descriptive research with a qualitative approach. The research subjects were 2 students in grade VII A SMPN 2 Kalidawir who had the highest scores. The selection of research subjects is based on the results of the creative self efficacy questionnaire. Data collection techniques with questionnaires, test questions and interviews. Data analysis techniques with data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawn. To test the validity of the data using triangulation methods and sources. The test results are analyzed with polya steps and indicators. The results showed that creative self efficacy in solving S-1 math problems met the polya stage of planning solutions, solving problems, and re-examination. Meanwhile, S-2 fulfills the polya stages of understanding the problem, planning the solution, solving the problem and re-examining. Furthermore, it is recommended to further examine creative self efficacy in solving mathematical problems with different theories, methods and materials. For teachers, it can be used as a reference to train students in solving mathematical problems.

Abstract

One of the important skills that students need to master is numeracy literacy. Teachers can improve this ability by integrating it into real-life context-based learning, while considering the characteristics of each student. The development of numeracy literacy can also be modified by incorporating local cultural elements. This study aims to assess the effectiveness of differentiated learning supported by ethnomathematics LKPD to improve students' numeracy literacy, reviewed from teacher activities, student activities, and numeracy literacy ability test results. The novelty of this study lies in the application of differentiated learning combined with Ethnomathematics-based LKPD that promotes Majapahit culture. The researcher used a quantitative descriptive method with a One Shot Case Study design. The sample of this study was taken using the Simple Random Sampling technique, which selected class VIII E of SMP Negeri 2 Bangsal with 32 students as the sample. Data were collected through observation and test techniques. The results of the study showed that teacher activity in managing learning was very good, student activity during the learning process was also very good, and the test results showed that 81.25% of students were included in the high numeracy literacy ability category. Thus, it can be concluded that differentiated learning with the support of ethnomathematics-based LKPD is effective in improving students' numeracy literacy skills.

Abstract

The concept of vectors in mathematics is defined as a quantity that has a value and direction. Students' interpretation of the concept of vector value and direction becomes a problem because of the adjustment of the sources of understanding used by students in learning. This study aims to analyze the introduction of the concept of vector value and direction in mathematics textbooks. A mathematics textbook for grade X high school in the independent curriculum was reviewed using the theory of praxeology. The analysis process was carried out in three main stages, namely the examination of the praxis block, analysis of the logos block, and evaluation of the structure of the praxis textbook. The test results showed that there were problems in the praxis block, namely the presentation of unclear visual data and the problem of the sequence of material in the logos block and learning was only limited to one context. The results can explore the potential for ontogenic obstacles, namely in the praxis block and the potential for didactic and epistemological obstacles in the logos block. The findings in this study indicate the need for improvements to textbooks.

Abstract

This study aims to describe students' learning independence in mathematics learning in terms of gender. Learning uses the drill method, namely repeating seriously with the aim of understanding what is being learned. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. The research instrument uses a questionnaire to measure students' mathematics learning independence and interviews are used as additional instruments to obtain more in-depth information about students' experiences and views on their learning independence. The research subjects were 12 female and 12 male students of class VII of SMP Kartika IV-6 Ambulu. The data analysis technique used involved the use of a percentage formula for student answers based on indicators of student learning independence, which were then described using the criteria for interpreting the percentage of answers. The results of the study showed that student independence in mathematics learning in terms of gender showed that males had an average of 59.03% with the category of "mostly" independent and females had an average of 63.19% with the category of "mostly" independent. Based on the results of the percentage, most male and female students are able to learn independently.

Abstract

The study is intended to learn the influence the discovery learning model was to assist audiovisual about the increased ability to solve the math problems of class IV students. It is conducted at Public Elementary School Klumpit 1, with a kind of quantitative research using a matode experiment of one group preposttest design. The sampling technique used in the study is the saturated sampling technique, with the number of students in the fourth class of students in the population of 10 boys and 15 girls. Pretest average value is 47.84. The posttest average is up to 80.36. The normal results of Shapiro-Wilk test that the pretest and posttest data above have sig > 0.05 with pretest data 0.054 > 0.05 and the posttest data 0.063 > 0.05 at significant levels 0.05 and n = 25, and H0 is accepted. N-gain tests, a value of 0.61 lies between 0.3 indicators 0.7 and a moderate increase in criteria. Thus it may be concluded that there is an increased ability to solve students' math problems through learning with the discovery learning model to assist audiovisual media.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to describe the application of the discovery learning learning model with scales to improve PLSV Completion Ability. There has not been much research on discovery learning using scales as a tool. The research method used is qualitative descriptive. The research subjects were 22 students in class VII A of SMPN 3 Tirtoyudo Satu Roof. Data collection techniques are carried out by observing during the learning process, student answers and student learning outcomes. The research results show that students' ability to complete PLSV increases, student learning outcomes also increase, and the learning process is more meaningful. Students whose ability to solve PLSV questions had increased and developed reached 14.8%, namely 4 students, students who developed according to expectations reached 37.1%, namely 10 students, students who were starting to develop reached 29.6%, namely 8 students. students and 5 students have not developed their ability to solve PLSV questions.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the ethnomodeling found in the Sundanese Merak dance. This type of research is qualitative research with ethnographic methods. There are three elements that are the sources of research data, namely the place and actors that occur at the PUSBITARI (Pusat Bina Tari Irawati Durban) and ISBI Bandung studios. The researcher conducted direct interviews with classical Sundanese dance maestros, dance trainers, dancers, and dance teachers. The activities carried out were conducting initial observations and direct interviews with informants. The data collection technique in this study used triangulation. The data analysis used was content analysis techniques, triangulation techniques, and finding patterns. The results of the study showed that the trainers and dancers of the Sundanese Merak dance at the PUSBITARI and ISBI Bandung studios tended to be proficient in mathematics in determining the direction of the dancers with the concept of related angles or by using time or clock benchmarks. Ethnomodeling in the Sundanese Merak dance is based on the 10 most important directions which are the concept of the relationship between the clock hands and the size of the angle. This calculation is a mathematical concept on how to calculate the size of the angle of the dancer's direction of face which is related to the direction of the clock hand and the concept of relational angle.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to increase students' learning motivation which is eroded by the presence of gadgets. The low motivation to learn mathematics is the background for the research conducted by researchers in class VII of Sukodono Islamic Middle School. To respond to this, the researchers conducted classroom action research which aims to increase students' learning motivation so that can increase the achievement of learning objectives in accordance with the implementation of the curriculum in schools. Students' learning motivation will emerge if they are directly involved in the learning process, one of the innovative learning models that involves students is the PjBL model. The steps in the PjBL model require students to think critically, creatively and innovatively in solving problems given by educators. Apart from using learning models that involve students, using interesting learning media can increase learning motivation. One application that can be used as a learning medium that increases student motivation is the Canva application. Therefore, researchers used the PjBL model with Canva media in research which is expected to increase the motivation of class VII students at Sukodono Islamic Middle School in PLSV material. The results of this research show that 2 students or 8.7% of the 23 students have not met the criteria for achieving learning objectives. The author concludes that the PjBL model is recommended to be applied to mathematics learning.

Abstract

This best practice writing aims to determine the effectiveness of the CTL learning model in increasing student involvement in learning mathematics and to provide the best recommendations for using Contextual Teaching Learning in learning. Learning problems that occur in SMA Selamat Pagi Indonesia class XII students involving conditions of low learning motivation and lack of involvement in all learning activities, of course, have an impact on learning outcomes that do not achieve learning objectives. The method used in this research is using qualitative methods where data collection through literature review, observation, interviews, and documentation, then analyzed with a SWOT matrix equipped with IFAS (Internal Factor Analysis Strategy) and EFAS (External Factor Analysis Strategy) factors. The use of the CTL model has been able to show significant results, in the SWOT matrix shows that the results of the analysis of internal and external factors, positioning the use of CTL in learning in Quadrant 1. Which means, the use of CTL is in a very favorable situation. The use of this learning model has opportunities and strengths at a positive value (x = +1.22, y = +1.17). The strategy that must be applied in using the CTL model is to support an aggressive growth policy (Growth oriented strategy), which is fully implemented and disciplined according to its syntax, so that its implementation can be effective in increasing student involvement in learning mathematics.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of learning model based project on the creative thinking skills of grade VII students in SMP Tarbiyyatus Shibyan Tajinan. This research is a quasi experiment research with pre-test post test control group design. The population of this study subjects was 40 the seventh grade students of SMP Tarbiyyatus Shibyan Tajinan are divided into two classes. Class VII A as the control group and class VII B as the experimental group with each class number is 20 students. Data collection techniques in this study using the test in the form of essays as many as 3 questions that have been tested the validity and reliability. Hypothesis testing in this study using Independent Test T test for testing the difference score obtained by control class students and experiment class after learning (post tes). The result of the research showed that there is influence of model project based learning on creative thinking skill of class VII students in SMP Tarbiyyatus Shibyan Tajinan. The test result of Independent T Test found the value of 7,247 with sig (2-tailed) 0,000. Since the significance value (sig.) is less than 0.05 (sig. <0.05), it can be concluded that H0 is rejected and H1 accepted, meaning that there is an influence of the learning-model based learning to the students' creative thinking ability.
