Abstract

The Gresik Regency Government aims to reduce its 2023 unemployment rate of 6.82% through the Vocational Home Education and Training program, the only one of its kind in Indonesia. The success of this program relies heavily on the active role of the Gresik Regency Manpower Office. This study aims to analyze the office’s role in vocational education and training at the Vocational House, using a qualitative descriptive approach based on Jones’ public sector role theory. The findings show that while the Gresik Manpower Office has been effective in implementing and supervising the program, its impact on reducing unemployment remains limited, requiring further efforts to make significant progress.

Abstract

The study aims to assess how assistance from the capture fisheries management program has influenced the welfare of fishermen in Masohi City and Amahai sub- districts, Central Maluku Regency. Findings reveal that 20% of fishermen earned less than Rp.1 million monthly before receiving assistance, while 80% earned between Rp.1 million to Rp.5 million. Post-assistance, there was a noticeable increase in production and income, attributed to improved fishing gear, skills, and work hours. Consequently, incomes rose, with 10% earning Rp.1 million to Rp.5 million, 40% earning Rp.5 million to Rp.10 million, and 50% earning over Rp.10 million monthly. Thus, the capture fisheries management program significantly enhances fishermen's welfare.

Abstract

This study evaluates the tourism marketing strategies of the Mentawai Islands government and examines key factors influencing its development. With rich cultural rituals, breathtaking landscapes, and world-class waves, the Mentawai Islands hold significant tourism potential that requires strategic management. Using qualitative methods and SWOT analysis, the research identifies exceptional waves as a strength, increasing tourist arrivals as an opportunity, low community awareness as a weakness, and inadequate service standards as a threat. To address these issues, the study suggests developing a comprehensive marketing strategy, establishing clear government regulations, enhancing public facilities and tourism personnel quality, and optimizing the region's resources to support sustainable growth.

Abstract

This study aims to integrate various aspects of ecotourism development and evaluate development strategies, specifically focusing on Lake Uter ecotourism. It employs descriptive methods with both qualitative and quantitative approaches. Data collection involved literature study, observation, interviews, and documentation, utilizing sources like books, journals, the internet, and other relevant documents. Data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model. The findings reveal that the driving factors for the development of Lake Uter ecotourism are its uniqueness, support from the Maybrat district government, and community backing. Conversely, the inhibiting factors include the local government's low prioritization of the tourism sector, limited tourism human resources, and the absence of investors in the development of Lake Uter Ecotourism.

Abstract

Publication is a key obligation for lecturers, and while Indonesian lecturers have led ASEAN in publication volume, there was a decline in Scopus-indexed publications in 2022. This decline is attributed to personality factors and organizational commitment. The study, using an explanatory research approach, investigates how personality influences publication performance and the role of organizational commitment. It involves lecturers from L2Dikti Region XII, with data collected through questionnaires, interviews, and observations, analyzed using moderation regression. The results show that traits like openness and conscientiousness enhance publication performance, while organizational commitment does not significantly impact or mediate this relationship. However, the study's small sample size limits its generalizability, suggesting future research should involve larger samples, more institutions, and explore additional factors like intrinsic motivation and institutional support.
