Abstract

The current world financial crisis has caused many bankruptcies in various companies. So, it is necessary to anticipate the occurrence of financial distress so that businesses can prevent this action. This study analyses the prediction of profitability, liquidity, leverage, sales growth, and managerial agency costs in financial distress. The population in this study was 27 companies in the transportation and logistics sector listed on the IDX and published financial reports annually during 2019–2022. The sample used was 14 companies, with sampling techniques through purposive sampling. The data analysis in this test utilizes logistic regression analysis. The results of this test show that profitability, liquidity, leverage, sales growth, and managerial agency cost can predict financial distress, but the results of the effect test in this study state that all independent variables consisting of profitability, liquidity, leverage, sales growth, and managerial agency cost do not affect financial distress. Therefore, researchers recommend utilizing this test model to predict financial distress because the accuracy that can be given is quite good so that companies can anticipate financial difficulties.

Abstract

This research aims to test and analyze the effect of work stress on employee performance through work-life balance in Health Service Institutions. This research uses quantitative research. The sampling technique used non-probability sampling with a saturated sample type, where all population members were sampled as many as 80 Health Agency respondents. The statistical analysis used in this research is Partial Least Square (PLS) with the help of SmartPLS 4.1.0.1 software. The results of this study explain that work stress has a significant positive effect on employee performance, work stress has a large positive effect on work-life balance, work-life balance has a large positive effect on employee performance, and work-life balance successfully mediates the relationship between work stress and the performance of employees. If an institution wants to improve the performance of its employees, then the institution must be able to manage work stress well, which is balanced with the existing work-life balance.

Abstract

This research aims to analyse the influence of profitability, leverage, firm size, sales growth, and liquidity on financial distress in companies in the basic industry and chemicals sector listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange for 2017-2022. The sample for this research is 20 companies in the basic industry and chemicals sector listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange for 2017-2022 obtained from purposive sampling. The type of data used is quantitative data obtained from secondary data. The data collection technique is a documentation technique obtained from the company's annual financial report from the Indonesia Stock Exchange for 2017 - 2022. The data analysis techniques used are descriptive statistics and logistic regression using SPSS 26. The results of the study show that profitability is proxied by ROA, leverage is proxied by the debt ratio, firm size is proxied by the logarithm of total assets, sales growth is proxied by the sales growth ratio, and liquidity is proxied by the current ratio do not affect financial distress. Advice that can be given to investors and companies is to focus on the five independent variables and internal company factors in looking at the size of financial distress and to consider other possible factors. Apart from that, advice that can be given to future researchers is to use different proxies in carrying out the analysis because different proxies will allow different results to be obtained.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of probability, liquidity, leverage, managerial ownership, and business risk on dividend policy and to determine whether firm size can moderate the influence of profitability, liquidity, leverage, managerial ownership, and business risk on dividend policy. The sample of this study consisted of 52 companies confirmed by the Indonesian Stock Exchange in the consumer cyclical industry from 2020-2022. The sampling technique used purposive sampling. The analysis technique uses Multiple Regression Analysis (MRA) with STATA 17. The findings obtained show that managerial ownership has a significant positive effect on dividend policy. Profitability, liquidity, leverage, and business risk do not affect dividend policy. Firm size cannot moderate the effect of profitability, liquidity, Leverage, managerial ownership, and business risk on dividend policy. Under the agency model theory, consumer cyclical companies are expected to monitor the performance and the proportion of managerial ownership shares on deciding dividend policy because the more significant the percentage of managerial share ownership will minimise agency conflicts.

Abstract

The objective of this study is to gain a comprehensive understanding of how work-life balance, job involvement, and affective commitment contribute to enhancing in-role performance. It also examines the role of affective commitment in leveraging work-life balance to improve in-role performance and maximising job involvement to enhance in-role performance. This quantitative research, categorised as explanatory, employs the Structural Equation Model (SEM) method. The findings reveal that at PT. X, work-life balance does not directly influence in-role performance but has a positive and significant impact on affective commitment. This indicates that employees with a higher perceived work-life balance exhibit more outstanding affective commitment. Job involvement is shown to positively and significantly affect in-role performance and affective commitment, suggesting that higher job involvement enhances employee performance and commitment. Affective commitment significantly improves in-role performance, demonstrating its direct influence on employee performance. However, work-life balance does not significantly impact in-role performance through affective commitment as an intervening variable, as its indirect effect is less substantial than the direct effect. Conversely, job involvement significantly enhances in-role performance through affective commitment, indicating that affective commitment mediates the relationship between job involvement and in-role performance. This study's scope is limited to a single company. Hence, future research should encompass multiple companies for a larger sample size. Furthermore, future studies are recommended to explore in-role performance incorporating other variables such as leadership style or self-efficacy.
