Abstract

COMMUNITY ECONOMIC EMPOWERMENT THROUGH TOURISM VILLAGES IN AIR KULIM. This community service program aims to enhance the economic and social capacity of the residents of Air Kulim Village, Mandau District, Bengkalis Regency, through the development of a community-based tourism (CBT) village. This approach positions the local community as the main actors in planning, implementing, and managing tourism activities to ensure sustainable and inclusive development. The implementation method consists of four main stages: preparation, training, mentoring, and evaluation. The training sessions covered the concepts of tourism village development, entrepreneurship, local product innovation, destination management, and digital marketing. The program involved 15 participants. Evaluation results showed an average increase of 41% in participants’ knowledge, the establishment of the Air Kulim Tourism Village Forum (FDWAK) as a community-based tourism organization, and the creation of five local flagship products along with three thematic tourism packages that have become new economic attractions. Community income increased by 20–25% after the program, supported by effective digital promotion. Beyond economic impact, the program fostered collective awareness of the importance of environmental conservation and community collaboration in developing sustainable tourism. Therefore, this program demonstrates that CBT-based empowerment can serve as an effective model for rural economic development and for strengthening local cultural identity in Bengkalis Regence.

Abstract

The implementation of the Community Service Program (KKN) in Melikan Village, Wedi District, Klaten Regency, carried the theme of stunting prevention by utilizing a local community event known as Peken Pinggul. This activity aimed to raise public awareness regarding stunting and provide free healthcare services accessible to all groups. The program was carried out in two sessions, namely the delivery of material on stunting (definition, symptoms, impacts, and prevention) and free medical check-ups, including blood pressure, blood sugar, height, and weight measurements. The results indicated a high level of community participation, enthusiasm for health services, and an increase in public knowledge about the importance of nutrition and healthy lifestyles in preventing stunting. This activity also directly supported the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 1 (No Poverty) through free health services, SDG 2 (Zero Hunger) through nutrition education, SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being) through counselling and health examinations, SDG 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation) through education on sanitation importance, and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) through collaboration among students, village officials, community leaders, and the Peken Pinggul committee. Thus, Peken Pinggul has proven to be an effective medium for raising health awareness in a critically poor village while strengthening community-based sustainable development practices.

Abstract

Cirebon faces severe ecological vulnerability due to the impacts of coal-fired power plants and coastal abrasion, exacerbated by the community’s low level of mitigation literacy (28%). Sectoral responses thus far have been ineffective in strengthening local resilience. This community-engaged research aims to implement the Hepta Helix collaboration model to build a participatory climate education ecosystem. Employing Participatory Action Research (PAR) with an Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) approach, the study involves seven key cross-sector actors. The findings indicate a significant shift in social paradigm—from a confrontational deficit mentality to a collaborative asset-based mindset. This synergy successfully orchestrated the roles of each actor and generated concrete innovations such as the institutionalization of the Environmental Verse Tafsir, youth-led digital campaigns, and community-based biopore revitalization. The study concludes that the Hepta Helix collaboration effectively breaks down sectoral ego barriers and strengthens community adaptation capacity at the grassroots level in a sustainable manner.

Abstract

Adolescent mental health, particularly among santri  is a critical issue requiring serious attention. This community engagement initiative aimed to enhance mental health literacy at Pondok Buntet Pesantren using a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach, comprising three main phases: initial assessment, psychoeducation, and counseling guidance. Thirty-six participants completed pre- and post-test evaluations using standardized instruments, specifically the Satisfaction with Life Scale and the Mental Health Literacy Scale. The results indicated a significant increase in students' life satisfaction following the intervention. Although improvements in positive emotions and mental health literacy were not statistically significant, the observed positive trends suggest the program's effectiveness in deepening understanding, reducing stigma, and serving as a crucial preventive measure for maintaining students' mental well-being.

Abstract

ECOPOLIS VILLAGE: EDUCATION AND REAL ACTION ON INTEGRATED WASTE MANAGEMENT BY THE PANDEGLANG REGENCY YOUTH COMMUNITY. The increase in waste volume without a proper management system has become a serious problem in Pandeglang Regency. The lack of education and active participation of the community, especially young people, in waste management has led to waste accumulation and potential environmental pollution. The “Kampung Ekopolis” community service program aims to empower youth communities in implementing a community-based integrated waste management model. The program implementation method consists of three main stages: (1) Education and Socialization, through counseling on waste sorting, the impact of plastic waste, and the 3R concept (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle); (2) Concrete Action, through the establishment of a waste bank unit, training in ecobrick making, and organic waste composting; and (3) Simple Infrastructure Development, in the form of a sorted waste collection point. The results of this program show an 80% increase in the youth community's knowledge and awareness of waste management. In concrete terms, a waste bank has been established, which has collected 150 kg of inorganic waste in one month, as well as producing ecobricks and compost that can be reused by the community. The Ekopolis Village program proves that youth communities can be effective agents of change in creating a clean, healthy, and sustainable environment. The sustainability of the program is ensured through partnerships with relevant agencies and transparent financial management of the waste bank by local youth.

Abstract

Child-friendly, gender-responsive, and disability-conscious inclusive education is an important aspect of creating a fair and equitable learning environment. However, many educators still face challenges in implementing collaborative learning strategies that can embrace all students, including those with special needs and from diverse gender backgrounds. Therefore, this study was conducted at the provincial-level SLBN B in Sumedang Regency to enhance teachers' competence in implementing inclusive and empowering collaborative learning strategies. This study aims to strengthen teachers' capacity to create a learning environment that supports the social, emotional, and academic development of students with special needs, as well as to ensure a safe and inclusive setting. The activity is designed to assess educators' needs and identify challenges faced in implementing collaborative learning. Evaluation is conducted through measuring improvements in teachers' skills and changes in their attitudes towards students with special needs. The research approach uses the R&D method with the ADDIE model, which includes Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. This model is chosen because it effectively facilitates the systematic and practical process of designing, developing, and evaluating teacher training programs. The methods used include direct training, collaborative learning simulations, and continuous mentoring to ensure consistent application of strategies. The data collected will be analyzed qualitatively to understand changes in teachers' perceptions and abilities in creating a more inclusive learning environment. The expected outcome of this research is an increase in teachers' competence in implementing collaborative learning, including their ability to build positive relationships with students, manage class dynamics inclusively, and create a learning atmosphere that encourages active participation. Thus, this study is expected to serve as a model for developing more inclusive and sustainable educational strategies at the provincial level SLBN B and other similar schools.

Abstract

Violence against children in Cibinong District is a critical issue demanding interventions beyond formal legal approaches. This community service aims to establish a sustainable child protection system using Participatory Action Research (PAR). The intervention targeted two primary ecological layers based on Bronfenbrenner’s theory: the family microsystem through Majelis Taklim Khairunnisa and the school mesosystem through SDIT Al Madinah. Through the cycle of mapping, planning, action, and reflection, this program sought to deconstruct social norms legitimizing violence. The results demonstrate three significant achievements: (1) A transformation in parenting styles from authoritarian to positive discipline, alongside the removal of the "disgrace" stigma hindering case reporting; (2) Increased student self-efficacy to speak up against bullying and sexual threats; and (3) The establishment of the Local Child Protection Forum (F-PAL) as a sustainable early warning system institutionalizing community participation. It is concluded that the synergy between family resilience and an inclusive school climate, strengthened by local institutions, is key to effective violence prevention. This model is recommended for replication as an adaptive, community-based child protection policy.
