Abstract

The purpose of this study was to improve the learning outcomes of mathematics on the material of multiplication of numerical numbers in class IV through the application of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model with the help of concrete media “Gelas Ajaib”. The method used is Classroom Action Research (PTK) with a two-cycle design, each of which consists of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages. The subjects of this study were students of class IV B in one of the private elementary schools in Surakarta totaling 19 people. This research approach used a mixed approach (quantitative and qualitative). The results showed an increase in students' learning outcomes from an average of 61.05 at the pre-cycle stage, to 63.95 in cycle I, and increased significantly to 73.95 in cycle II. The number of students who reached the Mastery Level Completion Criteria (KKTP) also increased from 15.78% in the pre-cycle to 36.84% in cycle I and 63.15% in cycle II. The novelty in this study lies in the integration of the PBL model with the “Magic Glass” media designed to facilitate understanding of the concept of multiplication concretely and contextually.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the low learning outcomes of fourth grade students in Pancasila Education subjects, especially on the material of practicing the values of Pancasila, One of the causes is the lack of use of interesting and contextual learning media so that students have difficulty in understanding abstract material This study aims to improve student learning outcomes through the use of pop up book media that is visual, interactive, and fun. This type of research is Classroom Action Research (PTK) which was carried out in two cycles. Each cycle consists of planning, action implementation, observation, and reflection stages. The subjects of this study were students of class IV B SD Muhammadiyah 4 Surakarta, totaling 20 students. Data collection techniques used observation, learning outcome tests, and documentation. The results showed that the use of pop up book media can significantly improve student learning outcomes In cycle I, the completeness of student learning outcomes reached 65%, and increased to 85% in cycle II. In addition to improving learning outcomes, the use of this media also encourages active involvement of students in the learning process Pop up book media is able to present Pancasila values material concretely and interestingly. Thus, pop up book media is proven effective in improving learning outcomes and student activeness on the material of practicing Pancasila values. This media is recommended to be used in learning Pancasila Education in elementary schools.

Abstract

This research aims to improve student learning outcomes in biology subjects, especially in ecosystem material, by using audio-visual learning media. The research was carried out in class X.2 of SMA Negeri I Meureubo. The background to this research is that low student learning outcomes are caused by less interesting learning methods such as the lecture method. It is hoped that audio-visual learning media can facilitate students’ understanding through visualization of abstract ecosystem concepts. This research uses the Classroom Action Research (PTK) method with two cycles, involving planning, implementation, observation and reflection. The results showed that the application of audio visual learning media increased student learning outcomes from 41% in cycle I to 100% in cycle II, with the average student score increasing from 79 to 96. Audio visual learning media was proven to be effective in increasing student understanding and making the learning process is more interactive and interesting.

Abstract

Adolescence is a Crucial transitional phase in human life, marked by complex biological, psychological, and social changes. On one hand, adolescents demonstrate great potential in the development of personality and self-identity; on the other hand, they are vulnerable to various issues that may lead to deviant behaviors such as juvenile delinquency. These problems not only affect the individuals themselves but also have broader impacts on families and society. This study comprehensively examines the dynamics of adolescent development, various forms and causes of adolescent problems, and applicable solutions to address juvenile delinquency through preventive, curative, corrective, and preservative approaches. Internal factors such as identity crises, internal conflicts, and emotional instability, along with external factors such as dysfunctional families, negative social environments, and media influence, are the primary causes of adolescent problems (Desmita, 2011; Hurlock, 1994; Prasasti, 2017). In tackling juvenile delinquency, active involvement from families, schools, and communities is required through a holistic approach that includes building harmonious family environments, applying fair discipline in schools, and fostering character in social settings (Mahesha et al., 2024; Karlina, 2020). The findings of this study indicate that integrated, cross-sectoral collaboration strategies can significantly reduce the rate of juvenile delinquency and promote positive adolescent development. Abstract

This study aims to identify the perception of patchouli farmers regarding financial institution financing in the development of patchouli agroindustry. The research method used consists of observational data and interviews by designing a set of questions in the form of a questionnaire distributed to 40 patchouli farmers. The data were obtained from both primary and secondary sources, and were then analyzed using descriptive qualitative and quantitative methods. The results show that the perception of patchouli farmers toward financial institution financing for the development of the patchouli agroindustry is generally negative or considered difficult and unsupportive. Only 8 farmers perceived the financing process as easy, while 32 farmers perceived it as difficult.

Abstract

This research aimed to increase student’s motivation and learning achievment in chemistry trough the implementation of the Culturally Responsive Teaching (CRT) approach combined with the Discovery Learning model. The research was counducted in grade XA of SMA Negeri 2 Palu withs in 36 students during the 2024/2025 academic year, using the Kemmis and McTaggart model that carried out in two cycles consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection. The data were collected using learning achievement tests and observation, and analyzed both quantitatively and qualitatively. The results of the research test is showed student’s learning motivation, initialy categorized as well enough, improved to a good level by the end of the second cycle. Similarly, the average learning outcomes increased from 68.7 in the first cycle to 81.9 in the second cycle, with classical mastery improving from 64% to 86%. The using of CRT approaches as an integration of local cultural contexts, such as the use of ikan fufu grilling to explain Lavoisier’s Law and the preparation of kue tetu to illustrate Proust’s Law, enhance students comprehensive of chemisty concept and also increases the motivation and engangement in learning Chemistry. So that, the researcher indicates that the Culturally Responsive Teaching approaches as an effective strategy to create meaningful, contextual, and student-centered learning in chemistry learning.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the improvement of mathematics learning outcomes through the integration of Islamic values among students of SD Negeri 1 Krueng Buloh Cut. The researcher conducted Classroom Action Research (CAR) as an effort to create active, creative, and innovative learning that can enhance students’ interest in learning mathematics by integrating Islamic values into the teaching process. The CAR was carried out in two cycles. Each cycle consisted of planning, action, observation, and reflection. The results of the study showed that integrating Islamic values into mathematics learning on the topic of fraction operations could improve the learning interest of fifth-grade students at SD Negeri 1 Krueng Buloh Cut. This was demonstrated by the findings, where in the first cycle the average score reached 72 with 83% of students achieving mastery, while in the second cycle the average score increased to 95 with 100% of students achieving mastery. From the first to the second cycle, there was an increase of 23 points, proving that integrating Islamic values into the topic of fraction operations successfully improved the learning outcomes of fifth-grade students at SD Negeri 1 Krueng Buloh Cut

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the use of instructional media and the challenges faced by teachers in implementing Biology learning for Senior High School (SMA) students. The research approach used is descriptive qualitative with Biology teachers at MAN 1 Medan as the research subjects. Data were collected through questionnaires, interviews, and observations, then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model which includes data condensation, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study indicate that teachers have utilized various types of media, both conventional and technology- based such as videos, infocus, and teaching aids. However, the main obstacles faced are power  outages and limited teaching aids for practical activities. Teachers overcome these obstacles with alternative learning strategies such as learning outside the classroom and utilizing the surrounding environment as a real media. In general, the learning media used are in accordance with the scurriculum, but are not fully effective in improving student learning outcomes due to a lack of media variety and limited facilities. This study recommends the need for infrastructure improvements, teacher training in the use of digital media, and media innovations that are appropriate to student characteristics so that Biology learning becomes more interactive and meaningful.

Abstract

The study subjects were 10 fourth-grade students, consisting of 6 boys and 4 girls. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, documentation, and a questionnaire measuring four indicators of learning interest: enjoyment, interest, attention, and student engagement in learning. The results showed an increase in student interest in learning after the application of audio-visual media. In the pre-cycle, most students were in the "poor" category. After the interventions in the first cycle, interest in learning began to increase to the "moderate" category. In the second cycle, all students showed significant improvement, ranging from "high" to "very high." Audio-visual media has been proven to attract student attention, increase active engagement in the learning process, and create a more enjoyable and meaningful learning environment.

Abstract

Vision is a precious sense, involving the intricate interaction between light, eye structure, and optical technology. Light is the main source of information, an electromagnetic wave with a visible spectrum wavelength of 400–700 nm. The human eye is a natural optical organ, where light passes through the cornea (contributing 2/3 of the refractive power) and crystalline lens, then focused onto the retina, which converts it into electrical signals. Various vision disorders, such as myopia (nearsightedness) affecting over 15% of Indonesian school-age population, are increasing due to modern lifestyles. Optical tools, such as spectacles (concave lenses for myopia, convex for hypermetropia) and contact lenses, are used for refractive correction. Advanced technology includes LASIK surgery (reshaping the cornea with a laser) and Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) for early diagnosis of retinal disorders. Eye disorder prevention includes the 20-20-20 Rule, carotenoid and omega-3 nutrition, and protection from UV and blue light. This article provides a deep understanding of the physical properties of light, eye anatomy, optical instruments, and eye disorders, along with practical tips for maintaining eye health.
