Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of PBLRQA strategy combined with learning journals on biology cognitive retention and scientific attitudes of students with different academic abilities. This study was a quasi-experimental using a pretest-posttest nonequivalent control group design 2 x 2 factorial pattern. The research sample was 4 classes in class XI MIA SMAN 17 Makassar, selected by random sampling. Each 2 classes are taught with PBLRQA combined with a learning journal and 2 classes are taught with PBLRQA. The research instrument consisted of cognitive retention instruments in the form of essay tests and scientific attitude instruments in the form of questionnaires and scientific attitude observation sheets. Data were analyzed descriptively and inferentially. The results showed that (i) there was difference in the retention of students with different academic abilities between students taught with PBLRQA combined with learning journals with PBL. The PBLRQA combined with learning journals has more potential to maintain student retention than PBL. The mean corrected retention value of students with higher academic ability compared to students with lower academic ability. The interaction between learning strategy and academic abilities influences student retention; and (ii) there was differences in the scientific attitudes of students with different academic abilities between students who was taught with PBLRQA combined with learning journals and PBL. The PBLRQA strategy has more potential to grow students' scientific attitudes than PBL. The mean corrected scientific attitude of students with higher academic ability compared to students with lower academic ability. The interaction between learning strategies with academic abilities affect the scientific attitude of students.

Abstract

Chili Plants (Capsicum sp) is one commodity that has high economic value susceptible to wilt disease caused by fungus F.o f.sp capsici.The aim of this research is to obtain fungus Fo f cap capsici cause wilt disease in chilli plant that is sick, to obtain isolate of antagonistic bacteria that able to inhibit fungus development fosp capsici and to know effectiveness of antagonistic bacteria in inhibiting fungus development fosp capsicicause of wilting on pepper plant.This research was conducted in Biology Laboratory of FMIPA UNM.This research used Completely Randomized Design (RAL) with 9 treatments and 3 replications.Analyze data using ANOVA and Duncan test.Based on the morphological character of macroscopic and microscopic fungi isolated from the sick Lombok plant is Fusarium oxysporum f.sp capsici.The best antagonistic bacterial isolates inhibited the growth of F.o f.sp capsici in vitro Bacillus sp 81.0%.

Abstract

Cultivation plants are inseparable from disease, this disease is caused by pathogens that can damage plant physiology processes. these pathogens can be either bacteria or fungi. Fusarium wilt is caused by fusarium oxysporum, in tomatoes this disease is caused by fusarium oxysporum f. sp lycopersici. This disease can cause huge losses to farmers. The use of synthetic fungicides has been widely used to control diseases caused by fusarium oxysporum but has a major adverse effect on the environment, therefore it is necessary to have an environmentally friendly biological fungicide in controlling the disease. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of natural fungicides obtained from cocoa pods. In this study 6 treatments were used, P0 (control of healthy plants without treatment), P1 (control of sick plants treated F. oxysporum), P2 (treatment of 2% cocoa pods extract + treatment of F. oxysporum ) P3 (treatment of cocoa pods extract 5 % + treatment of F. oxysporum ), P4 (treatment of 8% cocoa pods extract + treatment of F. oxysporum) P5 (treatment of benomyl + treatment F. oxysporum ) The results showed that vegetable fungicides from cocoa pods extract were able to inhibit fusarium wilt. Each treatment has the same effect on the maximum height of tomato plants, number of fruits and weight of fruit. The highest plant height, number of leaves and highest fruit weight was at 8% extract treatment and the lowest was 2% extract treatmen.

Abstract

This study investigated a natural acid-base indicator which is extracted from plants in Kupang city. There are 14 plants that potential as a source of natural indicator for acid base titration, i.e, Kol Ungu (Brassica oleracea Capitata Group), Turi Merah flower (Sesbania grandiflora L. Pers), Belimbing Wuluh flower (Averhoa bilimbi L), Kaktus Merah fruit (Opuntia vulgaris Mill), Ruelia flower (Ruellia simplex), Flamboyan flower (Delonix regia), bugenvil flower (Bougainvillea spectabilis Willd.), Bayam Merah leaves (Amaranthus tricolor L.) Jamblang fruit (Syzygium cumini L.), Murbey fruit (Morus alba L.), Pinang fruit (Areca catechu L.), Sirih fruit (Piper betle L.), Kunyit (Curcuma longa Linn), and Nanas Kerang leaves (Rhoeo discolor). Plants extract shows a sharp color change in acid and base solution. Promising results as a natural indicator also shown in acid base titration which is have similar equivalent point to synthetic indicator. We can use these natural indicators as an alternative to synthetic indicator because they are found to be simple, very useful, cheap, easy to extract, accurate, and eco-friendly.

Abstract

This research is a Classroom Action Research that aims to find out how the problem-based learning steps so as to develop the student's character values. The subjects of this study were students of Class XI IPA 3 SMA Negeri 1 Parepare with 39 students. Thisresearch was conducted in two cycles, each cycle consisting of planning, implementation, observation / evaluation, and reflection. Each cycle consists of four meetings, three meetings for teaching and learning and one evaluation meeting. Data collection was done by using observation sheet of student activity/activity, observation sheet of student character and student character questionnaire and analyzed qualitatively. Based on the results of descriptive statistical analysis for student learning outcomes on the show that the cycle I obtained an average value of 67.02 whereas in cycle II obtained an average value of 75.61. Questionnaires and observation sheets are used to observe the character development of students. By applying the steps of the problem-based learning model, the character of the student develops based on the observation result and student character questionnaire whichincreases from cycle I to cycle II.

Abstract

Revisi taksonomi Bloom membagi tujuan pembelajaran (instructional objective) kedalam dua dimensi utama, yaitu dimensi pengetahuan atau isi materi pembelajaran (frase noun) dan dimensi proses kognitif (frase verb). Dimensi pengetahuan mencakup, pengetahuan faktual, konseptual, prosedural, dan metakognitif. Sedangkan dimensi proses kognitif terdiri atas enam kategori, yaitu mengingat (remember), memahami (understand), mengaplikasikan (apply), menganalisis (analyze), mengevaluasi (evaluate), dan mencipta (create). Mengintegrasikan revisi taksonomi Bloom kedalam pembelajaran biologi, dapat dilakukan dengan menggunakan tabel taksonomi pendidikan. Guru dapat memasukkan tujuan-tujuan pembelajaran yang telah dibuat, kedalam kotak-kotak pada tabel taksonomi pendidikan yang merupakan perpotongan antara dimensi pengetahuan dan dimensi proses kognitif. Dengan cara tersebut, guru dapat memahami hubungan integral antara jenis pengetahuan pada keilmuan biologi dengan proses kognitif yang inheren dalam rumusan tujuan pembelajaran. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif, yang bertujuan untuk menguraikan hasil analisis kritis penggunaan tabel taksonomi pendidikan, pada konteks pembelajaran Biologi Sekolah Menengah Atas (SMA). Diawali dengan membuat dan mengklasifikasikan beberapa tujuan pembelajaran Biologi, mendeskripsikan rancangan pembelajaran, dan memilih instrumen serta prosedur asesmen yang sesuai.

Abstract

The study aimed at examining (1) describe family climateand students emotional intelligenceof XI IPA SMAN in Parepare, (2) correlation between family climate and students emotional intelligenceof XI IPA SMAN in Parepare. The kind of the study was ex-post facto research. The population of the study was the entire students of grade XI IPA at SMAN in Parepare.Data were collected with 230 samples taken by employing proportional random sampling technique. Data were analyzed by employing statistics descriptive and inferential analysis. The result of the study revealed that (1) the family climate of grade XI IPA students at SMAN in Parepare was in condusive categoryand emotional intelligence was in fair category, (2) there was correlation between familyclimate and emotional intelligence, and (3) the contribution of family climate toward emotional intelligence was 1,51%

Abstract

Pertumbuhan penduduk yang sangat pesat berimplikasi terhadap peningkatan berbagai kebutuhan seperti perumahan, industri, kesehatan, pendidikan, dan lain-lain. Selanjutnya, peningkatan berbagai kebutuhan hidup tersebut menyebabkan terjadinya perubahan penggunaan lahan/ruang perkotaan, seperti rahan terbuka (RT) dan ruang terbuka hijau (RTH) menjadi lahan perumahan, lahan industri, perkantoran, sekolah dan lain-lain. Analisis perubahan penggunaan lahan di Kota Makassar dilakukan dengan menggunakan sistim informasi geografi (SIG). Data yang digunakan adalah Citra Landsat tahun 1990, 2000, dan 2010. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa perubahan penggunaan lahan di Kota Makassar dalam kurun waktu 30 tahun menunjukkan hasil signifikan, dengan perubahan penggunaan lahan terbesar terjadi pada lahan tegalan/ladang menjadi kawasan terbangun dengan keluasan adalah 10.000 Ha atau 23.91%. Keadaan ini berlangsung terus hingga masa kini. Oleh karena itu, ia memberi dampak yang besar terhadap lingkungan sekitar seperti terjadinya peningkatan suhu kota, yang menyebabkan semakin berkurangnya tingkat kenyamanan penduduk Kota Makassar. Oleh karena itu, perlu dilaksanakan pembangunan yang berkelanjutan, sehingga lingkungan tetap lestari.

Abstract

The learning concept is divided into two namely the formation of concepts and the achievement of concepts. This learning is presented in the form of examples and definitions that lead to an active interaction between learners and teachers. Because in each learner learning has different abilities in understanding a concept, then the samples and definitions of each learner will also be different and it will be a nuance that will train learners to think creatively. This research is a descriptive research that aims to determine the effectiveness of conceptual learning in terms of creative thinking ability of learners. The subjects of the study were students of class X.2 SMA Negeri 1 Galesong Utara which amounted to 36 students. Data collection is done by using alearning result test that provides an overview of the creative think ing sk ills of learners that include the ability to think smoothly, the ability to think flexibly, the ability to think original, and the ability to think in detail. The result of descriptive statistic analysis shows that the effectiveness of concept learning is viewed from the ability of creative think ing in chemistry of learners in SMA Negeri 1 GalesongUtara on the subject matter of hydrocarbon equal to 44,38%
