Abstract

This study examines the impact of customer satisfaction as a moderating variable in the relationship between brand image and purchase decisions for Eiger Adventure mountaineering equipment products. Customer satisfaction is defined as an emotional response that arises after consumers compare their expectations with the actual outcomes obtained. This research employed a purposive sampling method with 190 respondents. Data were collected using questionnaires based on the purchase decision instrument by Kotler and Armstrong (2008), brand image scale by Kotler and Keller (2012), and customer happiness scale by Parasuraman et al. (1988). The data were then analyzed using Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA) with the assistance of SPSS 26. The results indicate that brand image has a significant effect on purchase decisions, with a regression coefficient of 1.382 and a contribution of 73%. Furthermore, customer satisfaction significantly moderates this relationship (β = 0.528; p < 0.05), with a moderating contribution of 88%. These findings suggest that higher customer satisfaction strengthens the influence of brand image on purchase decisions, although 12% of the relationship is influenced by other variables. Therefore, companies should enhance their brand image while simultaneously improving customer satisfaction through product quality and service, as both factors jointly drive higher purchase decisions.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the importance of human resource management within organizations, particularly in improving employee performance through various forms of non-financial rewards. One factor considered capable of enhancing performance is employee recognition, which refers to acknowledgment of employees’ contributions and achievements in the workplace. In the context of healthcare services, employee performance is a crucial aspect as it is directly related to the quality of services provided to the community. This study aims to determine the extent to which employee recognition influences job performance among employees of the Jember X Hospital. The research adopts a quantitative correlational approach, with a total population of 408 employees. The sample size was determined using the Slovin formula, resulting in 202 respondents selected through proportional random sampling. The research instruments consisted of an employee recognition scale developed by Cannon based on the concepts of Brun and Dugas, as well as the Individual Work Performance Questionnaire (IWPQ) developed by Koopmans. All items in both scales have been tested for validity and demonstrated high reliability, with coefficients of 0.958 and 0.840, respectively. The results of data analysis indicate a positive and significant effect of employee recognition on job performance (p < 0.05; R² = 0.538). These findings suggest that the higher the employees’ positive perceptions of the recognition provided by the organization, the better their job performance in carrying out daily work tasks. The implication is that organizations, particularly hospitals, need to optimize employee recognition practices as a managerial strategy to enhance employee performance and overall service quality.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of person-job fit on occupational commitment among kindergarten teachers in Jember. The method used was a quantitative research design with a correlational approach. The respondents were 146 ABA kindergarten teachers in Jember, selected using proportional random sampling with the criteria of having at least a bachelor’s degree and a minimum of one year of work experience. The research instruments included the Person-Job Fit Scale adapted from Cable and DeRue (α = 0.857) and the Occupational Commitment Scale adapted from Blau (α = 0.837). The results of simple regression analysis showed that person-job fit has a significant effect on occupational commitment among kindergarten teachers (R = 0.660; R² = 0.435; F = 113; p < 0.001). These findings indicate that the higher the alignment between individual characteristics (values, goals, interests, preferences, talents, experience, and education) and job as well as organizational characteristics, the higher the individual’s commitment to their profession. This study concludes that person-job fit is an important factor in enhancing teachers’ occupational commitment. Future research is recommended to involve a broader population, not limited to ABA kindergarten teachers in Jember, in order to improve the generalizability of the findings.
