Abstract

The purpose of this study was to explore students' critical thinking skills on static fluid in the discussion of pressures through experiential learning strategies. This type of research is mixed method with embedded experimental design. The research subjects consisted of 37 students of class XI MIA 2. The measurement instruments in this study were tests of critical thinking skills which numbered 3 items in the form of essays and interview guides. Data analysis techniques include critical thinking ability analysis techniques that are encoded and n-gain analysis techniques. The results of this study indicate that students' critical thinking skills increase after learning using experiential learning strategies. This is indicated by changes in students' thinking for the better. The results of the n-gain analysis are 0.52 which indicates an increase in students' critical thinking skills in the medium category.

Abstract

Conceptual understanding is one indicator of success in learning. Mastery of concepts is seen when someone can solve a problem. This study aims to see student's mistakes in identifying and describing diagrams of force, particle dynamics. This type of research uses quantitative descriptive research with survey methods, research subjects amounted to 97 students. The technique of collecting data in the form of reasoned multiple choice tests with alpha cronbach is 0,68. The results of the study show that almost all students experience errors in identifying and describing the style diagrams that work on a system. Common mistakes that cause students to fail to work on problems well are because students are more likely to memorize mathematical formulations of a concept, without knowing how the concept is formed.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the’ recruitment process of teacher in Darul Ulum 2 Jombang High School because the quality of the teacher depends on the recruitment and selection procedures carried out by the committee. This research method was qualitative research, while data collection used interviews, and document studies. The results‘show that the implementation of recruitment aims to get professional educators. Before carrying out recruitment, it is necessary to prepare the recruitment process. Preparation and recruitment process must be completely well-planned so that the recruitment obtain good teachers since it impacts on student output.

Abstract

The high number of job seekers and low-level students who dare to become job creators indicates that the capabilities of vocational students in the fourth industrial revolution era are very low. This research aims at finding out the contribution of 21st century skills to the capabilities of vocational students. The research employed with quantitative approach, uses a test of causality relationship with correlation and regression analysis techniques. The results showed that 21st century skills had a causal relationship with students' abilities significantly. The contribution of 23% showed that 21st century skills were an alternative solution in developing student capabilities in the era of the fourth industrial revolution.

Abstract

This research developed a booklet of Nata from watermelon rind to improve farmers’ knowledge and skills. This research was a development research based on the model of Hannafin & Peck (1988). Booklet were implemented through counseling to farmers in the village of Klampisan, Kandangan Subdistrict, Kediri Regency. The results showed that after the extension and training activities there was an increase in knowledge. The average score of the N-gain results is 0.66 and is in the medium category. The results of the t-test show the value of p = 0,000 <0,05, meaning that there is an increase in knowledge about the nata of watermelon peel. Farmers' skills in making nata were assessed using an observation sheet. The average value obtained is 93.7 with a very good category.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effectiveness of instructional media on Remote Sensing. Research on this multimedia following the steps Borg and Gall are modified, then have seven steps as needed. The effectiveness of media views of testing of products and comprehension test. The results of field trials demonstrate the effectiveness of the product amounted to 83.1% comprising the display aspect, materials, operations and language. In addition, the results of comprehension test by the students achieved a score with an average of 81.7 with a minimum completeness criteria 78. The level of school effectiveness and comprehension test scores can be categorized so effective that multimedia products eligible for use in learning.

Abstract

Critical thinking skills can be grown with learning project based learning models. The purpose of this study was to analyze Critical Thinking abilities with project-based learning (PjBL) students at temperature and heat at the high school level. This research was conducted at SMAN 2 Batu class XI. The subjects of this study were 35 students. This type of research is a mixed method embedded in experimental models. With a test of critical thinking skills the essay forms as many as 8 items. The results showed that there were differences in critical thinking of students before and later getting PjBL training on the material heat and temperature. The result of the research showed that students’ critical thinking has increas.

Abstract

This research aims to develop biochemical practicum guidelines II and test the guidelines for small-scale practicum guides. This research was developed based on the Thiagarajan (4D) method. The practicum guide produced is a biochemistry practical guide II specifically for students, biochemical practicum guide II specifically for lecturers /assistants and multiple choice tests. The validation guide shows guidelines for biochemical practices specifically students have an average value of 88.89 with very feasible criteria and biochemical practicum guidance guide II specifically for lecturers / assistants has an average value of 91.11 with very feasible suggestions. The results of a small group biochemical practicum guide for students specifically had an average score of 85.94 with very decent criteria. This shows that the practicum guide for the results of the development is feasible to be used in biochemistry practicum II lectures.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the visual representation of grade 5 students in elementary schools in solving fraction problems. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. Data is collected through interviews, recording and student work. The research subjects were 3 students namely those who had high, medium and low mathematical abilities based on the results of the last report card. The results showed that there was no relationship between students 'mathematical abilities and students' visual representation. Students with high mathematical abilities can accurately represent the concept of fractions in the form of a picture but cannot represent the concept of fraction multiplication and compare two fraction numbers into the exact image. Students with moderate and low mathematical abilities cannot represent fraction concepts and multiplication concepts and compare two fraction numbers into image shapes correctly. Based on the results of this study it is expected that the teachers will provide a deeper understanding of the use of visual representation in fraction learning.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the relationship between metacognitive skills and retention of student learning outcomes, as well as the amount of contribution given by metacognitive skills to retention of student learning outcomes. This study was a correlation study. The population were all students of class X (ten) of SMAN 7 Kota Malang. The sample used was class X MIPA 2 students of SMAN 7 Malang which consisted of 34 students. The result showed that there is a relationship between metacognitive skills and retention of student learning outcomes that form the regression line equation Y = 54,712 + 0,253X with the contribution of metacognitive skills to retention of learning outcomes by 17,5%.
