Abstract

The growth of distance education provides an accessibility of teaching-and-learning-process involving the use of ICT. Hence, teachers’ competencies regarding the integration of ICT also one of the key success of teaching. Through TPACK, this study aims at investigating EFL teachers’ skills on technology integration and their preferable ICT based learning system amidst distance education. Moreover, this study also intends to analyze whether EFL teachers’ TPACK are significantly different in terms of teaching categories and gender. This survey study implicated 139 in-service EFL teacher in the city of Malang, East Java, Indonesia. The data were collected through questionnaire and analyzed by computing the frequency, ANOVA, and t-test. The finding revealed that the EFL teachers’ TPACK was decent. Furthermore, gender and teaching categories were not regarded as the factors that influenced EFL teachers’ TPACK. Lastly, Google Classroom was perceived as the most preferable ICT based learning system according to the teachers. Regarding the result of analysis, recommendation for teachers and educational stakeholders were also made in this study.

Abstract

Covid-19 outbreak has already created such big changes in education all over the world. However, rapid response improvement is needed to overcome the reality. One of the improvements is using Project Based Learning (PBL) which ensured that students can still become active and enthusiastic during remote learning. PBL implementation can be done using collaborative technique, which empirically proven to have better result. This research took place in Information System Study Program at Universitas Ma Chung Malang, in course which includes laboratory activity (in this case is Programming Language course). This implementation then being measured using focus group discussion (FGD), which gather and interviewing random sampling to evaluate its effectiveness and being held twice in one semester, thus it can review and repair the implementation during half semester. This research should give generic prescription as its result for other lecturers who has difficulties in improving remote learning process during Covid-19 outbreak or post outbreak. After evaluating the implementation with three main topics (development of students, collaboration aspect, and professional development) from random sampling students, there are some improvements to made, which are: (1) lecturer become more active involved, (2) invite professional to give guest lecturer, (3) encourage about the importance of teamwork, and (4) giving reward and penalty.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to reveal the principal's learning leadership in implementing digital school policies. This study uses a qualitative approach with a constant comparative multi-site design to reveal the focus of the research at SMPN 1 Sumenep and SMPN 1 Ambunten. Data collection techniques used are observation, interviews, and documentation. The results show that the school principal is in the implementation of digital school policies at the planning, implementation, and evaluation stages. The orientation of the principal's behavior as a learning leader leads to technical, symbolic, human relations, and educational behavior. The principal's learning leadership is related to internal factors, namely the determination of the school's mission, the arrangement of learning, and the creation of a learning climate. While the external factors are the values and expectations of the community as well as the institutional structure of the school.

Abstract

This study aims to find out the misconceptions experienced by students during the learning process using think aloud protocol (TAP) and physics multiple choice tests (TPGF) on hydrostatic pressure materials. This research design uses mixed method design with embedded experimental design. Quantitative data is obtained through N-gain calculations that show a high category with a score of 0.7. This indicates that there is a significant change in the mastery of the student's hydrostatic pressure concept after learning activities. Qualitative data analysis based on the results of the think aloud protocol also shows how students experience misconceptions by pouring their thoughts into the analysis of problems using image illustrations.

Abstract

The research purpose is to analyse the needs of Science Technology Engineering and Mathematic (STEM)-based science practicum books for secondary school. This is descriptive qualitative research with questionnaire and interview methods. The sample of this research were secondary school science teacher and students. The data were analysed descriptively with the results of data processing in percent (%). The results showed that 98% of secondary school science teachers did not know that STEM-based practicum activities could train 21st century students' skills and 90% of secondary school students stated that they never carried out practicum activities other than laboratory activities. The results also shows that 75% of students do not have science practicum book and only have worksheets provided when carrying out practicum activities. Furthermore, the results of the study also showed that 70% of students stated that practicum activities were not discussed deeply when they entered the class. It can be concluded that there is an urgency to develop a STEM-based science practicum book to that can practice students' 21st century skills in facing the era of the industrial revolution 4.0.
