Abstract

The focus of this research is the design and implementation of VR based learning media for building construction classes and exam ining its efficacy on how it helps the students comprehensively grasp the concepts taught in those classes us-on. It is however important to note that two major misconceptions regarding virtual reality that persons may hold are that students act like passive observers in a virtual environment and un-derstand theory without practice or visual representation. This is the reason why VR is the chosen option. The development processes used were needs analysis design development testing and evaluation. The end product is a VR software that enables students to construct a building model in a simulated environment, conduct construction exercises, and gain insight on some aspects of the construction process. The findings reveal the conclusion that virtual reality is a tool that has a good impact in the learning process of individuals. Learners when exposed to virtual reality were able to perform well by understanding concepts better and acquiring practical skills and motivation in learning. Moreover, students were enthusiastic about the use of virtual reality as an effective and easy learning tool. This study suggests that there is a great potential for virtual reality to augment the teaching and learning of construction in an effective and efficient manner. It is suggested that virtual reality be further included in the curriculum for civil engineering education as it has been observed that some of the challenges posed by conventional teaching and learning such as time and space do not apply to it.

Abstract

Global environmental sustainability issues have driven the transformation of vocational education to integrate green competencies that are relevant to the needs of the green industry. This study aims to identify the need for green competencies in the development of vocational education curriculum using the Simple Additive Weighting (SAW) method. This method helps in decision making from various different perspectives (such as teachers, students and industry) so that it needs to be generalized. This SAW method produces a ranking of competency elements based on the level of importance as a recommendation in developing a vocational education curriculum based on green competencies =. The research was conducted through data collection from literature, surveys to stakeholders (teachers, students, and industry). Data collection was carried out online via google form and 1022 respondents participated in this study. The identification results show that the aspects of "being able to provide solutions to environmental problems", being able to be responsible for environmental sustainability, and communication skills are the main needs that need to be developed/integrated into the curriculum. The implications of this study can be a recommendation or reference in designing a vocational education curriculum based on green competencies that not only meet the needs of the labor market but also support the SDGs.

Abstract

The SETS (Science, Environment, Technology, and Society) model science with environmental, technological and societal issues to enhance critical thinking, motivation, and concept application. This study examines its role in character formation and motivation towards achieving SDGs in SMP Negeri 2 Negara. Using a qualitative FAQ technique, it found 5 of 6 teachers actively use the SETS model, while one applies its principles unknowingly. This study highlight SETS’s potential in fostering global issue- based learning, environmental awareness, and social responsibility, encouraging broader adoption in education to advance SDGs achievement.

Abstract

This research was conducted to determine attitudes towards science SMP through in-depth analysis using 7 attitude indicators. The study was conducted at SMPN 19 Jambi City with a total sample of 145 students of class VII D, VII E, VII F, VII G, VII H, and VIII H. The research method that the researchers used was a combination of quantitative and qualitative instruments in descriptive. The quantitative instruments were in the form of questionnaires, while the qualitative instruments were in the form of interviews with 1 student, 1 student, and 1 natural science teacher. The results showed students' attitudes toward science subjects were still neutral.

Abstract

Quantitative descriptive research with literature credibility and data source substitution was conducted on the independent variable of science literacy in the IPA learning process in elementary schools in its influence on overcoming student misconceptions as the dependent variable. The study aimed to determine the relationship between the independent and dependent variables, the significance of the relationship between the research variables, and to determine whether or not there was an influence of the variables. The population of elementary school science teachers with third, fourth, and fifth-grade students as respondents in questionnaires, interviews, and observation participants resulted in a significant negative correlation between the variables and a determination coefficient of variable X on variable Y.
