Abstract

The objectives of this activity are improving knowledge about how to initiate environment  based  science  laboratory work  and  giving  more  infor- mation to make science teachers feel enthusiastic, interested, and commited to create,  develop  and  implement  science  laboratory  work  in  their  school creatively. The target of this activity is science teacher at Kodya Yogyakarta. As for  execution  methods  worn  in  this  activity  are  experiment,  discourse, discussion  of  information  and  presentation.  The  materials  are  conducting science laboratory work through environment based, some difficulties and the solution which are found in the science class while conducting laboratory work. Science laboratory work focuses on giving information to the student about how to optimize daily activities for science laboratory work. Training is conducted in a day at Junior High School 1 of Yogyakarta. Then, in another day (one week after training process), each science teacher have to demonstrate and present their laboratory work design. Generally, this activity has been succeeded in understanding and devaloping some skills of conducting environment  based science laboratory work. Through this activity, knowledges and experiences of creating and conducting of environment based science laboratory work has been understood by science teachers in Kodya Yogyakarta which are formed in MGMP forum. All participants are active and giving positive responses. Moreover, this activity has been succeeded in developing a design of science laboratory work. About 20 design have been created by all participants

Abstract

The activity, called public service, aims to convert the straw to thefermented material as a cattle feed, which is high quality to challenge therate growth of cattle, especially young cattle. In other site we need tosimulate the fermentation technology for using the straw as a raw materialof cattle feed though application of biotechnology..The method of this activity for using the straw as a cattle feedconsists of communicative meeting and practice. The meeting step aims todevelop the knowledge of farmer about the fermentation technology. Thisactivity need about 20 hours with 20 participants, which are the people inJelok, Sentolo, Kulonprogo. The targets of this activity are: 1) head offamily, and 2) young man. This activity consists of 5 steps, namely: 1)preobservation, 2) communicative meeting, 3) practice to use offermentation technology, 4) harvest of the fermentation product, and 5)monitoring evalatuion. The results of this work indicate that the people have enough knowledgeto use the straw as a fermented material as a cattle feed. The index ofpublic participation in this activity is very good, that illustrated by the scoreof more than 80%. The people feel very happy, because they can use thestraw as high quality of cattle feed.

Abstract

This research aims to (1) identify the characteristics of silver nanoparticle by using UV-Vis spectrophotometer; (2) determine the anti-fungus property of wallpaint after being added by silver nanoparticle solution; and (3) determine the effect of silver nanoparticle solution concentration towards the anti-fungus property of the wallpaint. This study begins by synthesizing the silver nanoparticle solution with concentrations of (in mM) 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5. Then as much as 80% and 20% of wall paint and silver nanoparticle solution, respectively, are mixed. The solution obtained is tested using UV-Vis pectrophotometer and followed by conducting an experiment of the anti-fungus properties of the wallpaint with silver nanoparticle solution as an additive material. The measurements are conducted three times. This research shows that concentration of the silver nanoparticle solution affects the anti-fungus properties of the wallpaint. The diameter of the anti-fungus for the concentration of (in mM) 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 are (in cm) 1.36; 1.42; 1.45; 1.53; and 1.79, respectively. The greater the concentration, the greater the diameter of the anti-fungus. Therefore, the silver nanoparticle solution can be used to obstruct the fungus growth on the wall

Abstract

Hampir setiap musim hujan Dusun Kalidengen II, Desa Kalidengen,Kecamatan temon, Kabupaten Kulon Progo selalu tergenang air banjir sehinggamasalah air sangat penting untuk diperhatikan. Air jernih belum tentu bersih. Air minumnya mungkintampak jernih, tetapi bersihkah?Sasaran PPM program unggulan ini kelompok karang taruna padukuhanKalidengen II. Dengan ketua Karang Taruna Bp. Ngatijo.
