Abstract

Hypoglycemic response of red bean were evaluated in alloxan-induced diabetic rats. The objective of this research was to evaluate the effect of red bean (Vigna umbellata) diet compare with soy bean diet on blood glucose concentration in alloxan-induced diabetic rats. Thirty male Sprague-Dawley (SD) rats (250-300 g) were diabetic induced by alloxan injection (80 mg/kg of body weight by intra muscular injection). They were divided into three groups of ten rats. They were fed (1) Standard diet (STD), (2) Red bean diet (KM), and (3) Soy bean diet (KD) for 28 days. Concentration of serum glucose were determined before injection (0 day),after injection (day 17th) and every sweek during diet intervention (day 24,31,38 and 45th) It was found that alloxan injection increased serum glucose concentration of STD, KM, and KD rats. After 28 days intervention, red bean decreased the serum glucose concentration from 217, 87 mg/dL to 57,70 mg/dL (69 %) in KM groups and from 218,94 mg/dL to 76,82 mg/dL (65 %) in KD groups, but standard diet (STD) were decreased less than both of KM and KD diet. Key words : Diabetic, alloxan-induced, hypoglicemic, red bean, and soy bean

Abstract : Based on the fact that the reseacher observed in the field, that was still less of working motivation of kindergarten teacher and lack of discipline in carrying out their duties. It can be seen there were teachers still who are not disciplined in teaching, there were teachers still who often procrastinate her work, teachers leave early, teachers who still work with did not use time very well, if there was no class for teaching the teacher did not come to school. This occurred because of the assumption of the teachers that working as government officials did not have to work optimally because of salary amount has been determined in accordance with applicable government regulations. The existence of this view made there was no initiative or motivation of teachers in working. These conditions will affect the performance of teachers, because teachers lack the motivation to follow rules of school. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship working motivation Discipline of Kindergarten Teacher in Bukit Batu District, Bengkalis Regency. The population in this study was the entire kindergarten teachers in Bukit Batu district, Bengkalis Regency. There were 51 teachers from 10 kindergartens. The number of samples in this study was 51 teachers. While, in try out the researcher used 20 teachers from Bukit Raya Pekanbaru district. Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the role of competence and motivation in improving the performance of individual members of farmer women groups in Kulon Progo Regency. The population in this study were members of the farmer women group. The sampling technique uses saturated samples, namely members of farmer women groups in Lendah District with 71 respondents. The data collection method uses a questionnaire with a Likert scale as an alternative choice of answers and interviews. The questionnaire test instrument has fulfilled the competency, motivation and performance validity requirements with r counts above 0.3610 and competency reliability is 0.946, motivation reliability is 0.837 and the performance reliability of individual members of farmer women groups is 0.891 so it meets the requirements of the validity and reliability test. Data analysis techniques with the SPSS 19.0 program, using simple linear regression analysis with a value of the competency regression coefficient (X1) of 0.022 with a significance of less than (<0.05), means that H1 is accepted. The results of a simple linear regression analysis with a coefficient of work with a significance of 0.048 baseline with significance (<0.005), means H2 is accepted. The results of the study indicate that increasing the individual performance of members of farmer women groups is strongly influenced by the role of competencies that members have in increasing their expertise and the role of motivation of members in driving the cooperation of women farmer groups. Competence and motivation are strongly influenced by the strength of building a spirit of self-development, moving the team, the spirit of sharing knowledge, and creating comfort and security at work, as well as training provided from groups or the Government and related agencies, to provide strength in the development of women's groups farmer.

Abstract

The parameters of human skin health can be assessed from the level of skin hydration. Skin hydration level is the water content in the stratum corneum which is strongly influenced by natural moisturizing factor (NMF) and intercellular lipids. These components can be disrupted when exposed to irritants, such as detergents, too acidic substances, and so on. This condition can cause a decrease in skin hydration levels and becomes inactive, thereby it increases the skin's sensitivity to exogenous factors and infections. Traditional tofu factory workers are workers who have a risk of experiencing a decrease in skin hydration levels due to frequent exposure to tofu-making ingredients with an acidic pH. In Matraman Sub-district, East Jakarta, there are several tofu factories with the manufacturing process that is still processed traditionally. This descriptive observational study with a cross-sectional design aims to determine the overview of hand skin hydration levels in tofu-making workers located in the traditional tofu factory at Matraman District, East Jakarta. So that the workers and factory owners are expected to improve the quality of their workers. Data were obtained by measuring skin hydration levels in 100 study subjects using SK-IV corneometer and filling out questionnaires. Results: an overview of the skin hydration levels of right-handed and left-handed subjects with an average of 20,42% (very dry skin). The average level of skin hydration was lowest in the 60-70 year age group (19,35%), and in the 20-30 year age group (21,65%) and the male group had higher levels (20,59%). Level measurement at the hand location was obtained very dry skin category on the back of the right hand (100%). The more frequent of the frequency exposure to chemicals, the lower the hydration level of the skin (20,08%).
