Abstract

This study aims to analyze the mathematical connection ability of elementary school students in the material as whole counting numbers, and categories and based on indicators of mathematical connection ability. The subjects were students from Class IV as many as 114 elementary school students. This research is qualitative descriptive research using a purposive sampling technique. The research instruments used were a mathematical connection ability test and an interview. The indicators of the ability of mathematical connections measured include the relationship of mathematics with mathematics, the relationship of mathematics with other sciences, and the relationship of mathematics with everyday life. The results showed: (1) an overall mathematical connection ability of 24% including the category of less; (2) based on the category of mathematical connection ability showed that 49% of students are very less, 37% less Category, 7% Category enough, 7% Good category and 0% very good category; (3) the ability of mathematical connections based on indicators a) the relationship of mathematics with mathematics by 18% (very less Category), b) the relationship of mathematics with other sciences by 35% (less category), and c) the relationship of mathematics with everyday life by 17% (very less category). This shows that the ability of mathematical connections is still not owned by the fourth-grade students of elementary school and requires attention and further development by teachers and the school. Penelitian ini bertujuan unruk menganalisis kemampuan koneksi matematis siswa sekolah dasar pada materi bilangan cacah secara keseluruhan, kategori dan berdasarkan indikator kemampuan koneksi matematis. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa dari kelas IV sebanyak 114 siswa sekolah dasar. Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian deskriptif kualitatif dengan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah tes kemampuan koneksi matematis dan wawancara. Indikator kemampuan koneksi matematis yang diukur meliputi: hubungan matematika dengan matematika, hubungan matematika dengan ilmu lain dan hubungan matematika dengan kehidupan sehari-hari. Hasil penelitian menunjukan: (1) secara keseluruhan kemampuan koneksi matematis sebesar 24% termasuk kategori kurang; (2) berdasararkan kategori kemampuan koneksi matematis menunjukan bahwa 49% siswa berkemampuan sangat kurang, 37% kategori kurang, 7% kategori cukup, 7% kategori baik dan 0% kategori sangat baik; (3) Kemampuan koneksi matematis berdasarkan indikator a) hubungan matematika dengan matematika sebesar 18% (kategori sangat kurang), b) hubungan matematika dengan ilmu lain sebesar 35% (kategori kurang), dan c) hubungan matematika dengan kehidupan sehari-hari sebesar 17% (kategori sangat kurang). Hal ini menunjukan bahwa kemampuan koneksi matematis masih belum dimiliki oleh siswa kelas IV sekolah dasar dan memerlukan perhatian serta pengembangan lebih lanjut oleh guru maupun pemangku kebijakan lainnya.

Abstract

There are many factors why the quality of education in Indonesia is low, and one of them is the learning process. Many factors affect the quality of the learning process, one of which is the initial ability of mathematics. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to determine whether student initial ability has any influence on mathematical achievement from the point of view of critical thinking. This research is a survey research with simple regression analysis which selected the sample of 52 out of 109 students from the first semester of the UINSU Medan Mathematics Education Study Program in 2022/2023 academic year. The instrument used in this study was a written test in the form of multiple choices, and the collected data would be analyzed descriptively and inferentially. First, a classical assumption test consisting of a normality test and a linearity test was carried out, which was then followed by a simple regression analysis and the determination coefficient. Meanwhile, to test the hypothesis, the researcher used t test. From the results of data processing, it was found that initial abilities had a significant influence on mathematics learning achievement in terms of critical thinking skills. From the regression analysis, it was found that the regression equation Y = 40.929 + 0.589X which showed a positive correlation between initial ability and student achievement. In addition, it was also found that initial ability had an influence of 67.6% on learning achievement so it is necessary to improve initial ability to achieve high-quality learning achievement.

Abstract

Penelitian ini membahas mengenai model penyebaran penggunaan media sosial dan analisa kestabilan di sekitar titik ekuilibrium serta simulasi numeriknya dengan mengasumsikan populasi individu dibagi menjadi 5 kelas yaitu individu yang rentan terhadap kecanduan media sosial, individu yang menggunakan media sosial tetapi belum timbul kecanduan, individu kecanduan/adiktif media sosial, individu sembuh dari kecanduan media dan individu yang berhenti menggunakan media sosial. Model matematika yang digunakan adalah SEARQS dengan asumsi tidak ada kematian karena kecanduan media sosial. Selain itu, individu yang telah berhenti dari kecanduan media sosial, dapat kembali menjadi individu rentan. Permasalahan yang timbul dari penyebaran penggunaan media sosial yang berlebihan adalah bagaimana mengetahui kapan individu yang kecanduan media sosial akan menghilang dari populasi dan kapan individu yang kecanduan media sosial masih akan tetap ada di dalam populasi. Berdasarkan model, diperoleh titik ekuilibrium bebas kecanduan dan titik ekuilibrium endemik. Analisa kestabilan dilakukan di sekitar titik ekuilibrium bebas kecanduan diperoleh hasil bahwa titik ekuilibrium bebas kecanduan stabil asimtotik lokal jika dipenuhi syarat Ro<1. Selanjutnya dilakukan simulasi numerik dengan menggunakan program Matlab menghasilkan jika Ro<1 populasi individu yang kecanduan media sosial akan menghilang dari populasi sesaat setelah 10 satuan waktu, sedangkan jika Ro>1 individu yang kecanduan media sosial masih ada dalam populasi. In this paper we discussed about the model of social media addiction and stability analysis of the equilibrium point as well as its numerical simulation by assuming the individual population is divided into 5 classes, namely Susceptible individual, Expose individuals, Addicted individuals, Recover individuals. The SEARQS model is used. The assumptios used are no deaths due to social media addiction. In addition, individuals who have quit social media addiction may return to being Susceptible individuals. The problem that arises from the spread of excessive use of social media is how to know when individuals who are addicted to social media will disappear from the population and when individuals who are addicted to social media will still be in the population. Based on the model, an addiction-free equilibrium point and an endemic equilibrium point are obtained. The stability analysis was carried out around the addiction-free equilibrium point and the result was that the addiction-free equilibrium point was locally asymptotically stable if the condition  was fulfilled. Furthermore, a numerical simulation using the Matlab program results if , the population of individuals who are addicted to social media will disappear from the population shortly after 10 time units, whereas if , individuals who are addicted to social media are still in the population.

Abstract

Analisis sentimen atau bisa disebut juga opinion mining merupakan salah satu tugas utama dari Natural Language Processing (NLP) yang merupakan studi komputasi yang mempelajari tentang pendapat seseorang terhadap suatu topik bahasan atau entitas. Analisis dilakukan dengan algoritma machine learning (pembelajaran mesin) Naí¯ve Bayes, Decision Tree, dan K-Nearest Neighbor dengan membagi sentimen ke dalam dua kategori sentimen yaitu sentimen positif dan sentimen negatif. Data analisis diambil dari Financial Opinion Mining and Question Answering (FiQA) dan The Financial PhraseBank yang terdiri dari 4.840 kalimat yang dipilih dari berbagai berita keuangan dan dianotasi oleh 16 annotator berbeda yang berpengalaman dalam domain finansial. Penelitian ini ditujukan untuk mendapatkan hasil analisis sentimen dengan algoritma terbaik melalui perbandingan performa algoritma machine learning Naí¯ve Bayes, Decision Tree, dan K-Nearest Neighbor terhadap kalimat finansial yang disajikan oleh FiQA dan The Financial PhraseBank. Berdasarkan analisis, didapatkan hasil performa dari masing-masing algoritma dengan nilai akurasi algoritma Naí¯ve Bayes sebesar 78,45%; algoritma Decision Tree dengan nilai akurasi sebesar 77,72%; algoritma K-Nearest Neighbor (k=3) dengan nilai akurasi sebesar 41,25%; dan K-Nearest Neighbor (k=5) dengan nilai akurasi sebesar 37,38%. Analisis sentimen dengan algoritma Naive Bayes memiliki performa paling baik dengan nilai akurasi paling tinggi. Sentiment analysis or can also be called opinion mining is one of the main tasks of Natural Language Processing (NLP) which is a computational study that studies a person's opinion on a topic or entity. The analysis was performed with machine learning algorithms Naí¯ve Bayes, Decision Tree, and K-Nearest Neighbor by dividing sentiment into two categories of sentiment namely positive sentiment and negative sentiment. The analysis data was taken from Financial Opinion Mining and Question Answering (FiQA) and The Financial PhraseBank which consisted of 4,840 sentences selected from various financial news and annotated by 16 different annotators experienced in the financial domain. This research is aimed at obtaining sentiment analysis results with the best algorithms through comparison of the performance of Naí¯ve Bayes, Decision Tree, and K-Nearest Neighbor machine learning algorithms against financial sentences presented by FiQA and The Financial PhraseBank. Based on the analysis, the performance results of each algorithm were obtained with the accuracy value of the Naí¯ve Bayes algorithm of 78,45%; Decision Tree algorithm with an accuracy value of 77,72%; K-Nearest Neighbor algorithm (k=3) with an accuracy value of 41,25%; and K-Nearest Neighbor (k=5) with an accuracy value of 37,38%. Sentiment analysis with the Naive Bayes algorithm (K=5) performs best with the highest accuracy values.

Abstract

Minyak mentah atau crude oil memiliki peranan yang vital dalam pertumbuhan ekonomi suatu negara, karena minyak mentah merupakan sumber energi penggerak perekonomian. Untuk menjaga kestabilan perekonomian, maka harga minyak mentah pada periode mendatang perlu diantisipasi dengan cara melakukan prediksi terhadap harga komoditas minyak mentah dunia. Salah satu model yang dapat digunakan untuk memprediksi harga minyak mentah dalam jangka waktu pendek adalah Geometric Brownian Motion (GBM). Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengimplementasikan model GBM dalam memprediksi harga minyak mentah di masa pandemi Covid-19, serta mengukur keakuratan model tersebut. Pada penelitian ini, prediksi harga minyak menggunakan model GBM dilakukan dengan 50, 100, dan 1000 iterasi. Hasil yang diperoleh menunjukkan bahwa model GBM dapat bekerja dengan baik, dalam memprediksi harga minyak mentah di masa pandemi Covid-19. Hal ini ditunjukkan dengan nilai MAPE yang kurang dari 10%. Crude oil has a vital role in the economic growth of a country, because crude oil is a source of energy driving the economy. To maintain economic stability, the price of crude oil in the coming period needs to be anticipated by making predictions on world crude oil commodity prices. One of the models that can be used to predict crude oil prices in the short term is Geometric Brownian Motion (GBM). The purpose of this study is to implement the GBM model in predicting crude oil prices during the Covid-19 pandemic, and to measure the accuracy of the model. In this study, the prediction of oil prices using the GBM model was carried out with 50, 100, and 1000 iterations. The results obtained indicate that the GBM model can work well in predicting crude oil prices during the Covid-19 pandemic. This is indicated by the MAPE value which is less than 10%.

Abstract

Kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa di Indonesia masih belum berkembang dan tergolong rendah. Hal yang sama ditemukan di SDN Karangantu. Masih banyak siswa yang belum bisa menjelaskan secara rinci dari soal yang diberikan. Salah satu faktor yang menyebabkan hal tersebut adalah metode pembelajaran yang digunakan oleh guru adalah metode ceramah tanpa menggunakan media pembelajaran. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan media tangram berbasis Articulate Storyline 3 terhadap kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa dalam materi bangun datar kelas IV SDN Karangantu sebanyak 38 siswa tiap kelas. Pendekatan penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif dengan jenis penelitian quasi experiment design bentuk nonequivalent control group design. Teknik pengumpulan data adalah menggunakan tes uraian materi bangun datar yang mengandung indikator kemampuan berpikir kreatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan media tangram berbasis Articulate Storyline 3 memiliki pengaruh terhadap kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa dalam materi bangun datar kelas IV di SDN Karangantu. Hal ini dapat dilihat dari hasil uji hipotesis menggunakan Independent Sample t-test menghasilkan thitung > ttabel (4,8 > 2,0) yang menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan media tangram berbasis Articulate Storyline 3 lebih baik digunakan dari pada pembelajaran secara konvensional terhadap kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa dalam materi bangun datar. Dengan penggunaan media tangram berbasis Articulate Storyline 3 pengaruh yang diberikan terhadap kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa dalam materi bangun datar lebih tinggi.  The creative thinking skills of students in Indonesia are still underdeveloped and relatively low. The same thing was found at SDN Karangantu. There are still many students who cannot explain in detail the questions given. One of the factors that causes this is the learning method used by the teacher is the lecture method without using learning media. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the use of tangram media based Articulate Storyline 3 on students' creative thinking abilities in class IV SDN Karangantu consisting of 38 students per class. The research approach used was quantitative with a quasi-experimental design type of nonequivalent control group design. The data collection technique is to use a flat material description test that contains indicators of the ability to think creatively. The results showed that the use of tangram media based Articulate Storyline 3 had an influence on students' creative thinking abilities in class IV flat shape material at SDN Karangantu. This can be seen from the results of the hypothesis using Independet Sample t-test testing yielding tcount > ttable (4.8 > 2.0) which indicates that the use of tangram media based Articulate Storyline 3- is better used than conventional learning on students' creative thinking abilities in flat shape material. With the use of tangram media based Articulate Storyline 3 the influence is given to students' creative thinking abilities in higher flat shape material.

Abstract

Penelitian ini menganalisis hubungan kemampuan berpikir kreatif dan pemahaman konsep matematis. Data diambil dari 58 responden yang berasal dari siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri di Bandar Lampung. Analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis jalur (path analysis), guna melihat hubungan langsung dan tidak langsung antara variabel laten serta mengkonfirmasi kembali model yang telah dihipotesiskan dengan berbantuan SPSS dan Lisrel 8.80. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan baik antara peubah laten ke peubah laten lainnya maupun antara peubah indikator ke peubah latennyaa itu sendiri. Terjadi kombinasi linear pada indikator kelima peubah laten pemahaman konsep matematis yaitu mengaitkan berbagai kosep sehingga yang terlihat hubungannya hanya empat indikator lainnya dan terdapat hubungan antara peubah indikator pemahaman konsep dengan peubah laten pemahaman konsep itu sendiri serta yang berpengaruh kuat dalam peubah laten indikator berpikir kreatif terletak pada indikator ketiga dan indikator kedua pada peubah laten kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis dengan nilai masing-masing koefisien λ sebesar 0.96 dan 1.32. This study analyzes the relationship between creative thinking ability and understanding of mathematical concepts. The data were taken from 58 respondents who came from class XI students of SMA Negeri in Bandar Lampung. The data analysis used was path analysis, in order to see direct and indirect relationships between latent variables and to reconfirm the hypothesized model with the help of SPSS and Lisrel 8.80. The results showed that there was a good relationship between latent variables and other latent variables and between indicator variables and the latent variables themselves. There is a linear combination of the five latent variables for understanding mathematical concepts, namely associating various concepts so that only the other four indicators can be seen and there is a relationship between the indicator variables for understanding the concept and the latent variable for understanding the concept itself and the one that has a strong influence on the latent variable for indicators of creative thinking lies in the third indicator and the second indicator on the latent variable ability to understand mathematical concepts with the respective values of the coefficient λ of 0.96 and 1.32.

Abstract

Pendidikan abad 21 harus memfasilitasi pembelajaran jarak jauh dan siswa dituntut untuk memiliki kemampuan berpikir kritis dan pemecahan masalah. Oleh karena itu penting untuk mengembangkan media pembelajaran matematika berbasis teknologi dalam melatihkan kemampuan berpikir kritis dan pemecahan masalah. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian pengembangan dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Fase pengembangan terdiri dari 6 fase yaitu initiation, specification, design, production, review and evaluation, delivery and implementation. Pemilihan subjek penelitian yaitu 36 siswa kelas V, 27 siswa kelas IX, dan 30 siswa kelas XII. Instrumen penelitian yaitu lembar observasi, wawancara, angket respon, serta tes berpikir kritis dan pemecahan masalah. Analisis kevalidan dan kepraktisan media PHET yang dikembangkan dengan validitas produk dan materi media, serta analisis dari analisis angket respon siswa. Sedangkan analisis keefektifan media dengan analisis tes kemampuan berpikir kritis dan pemecahan masalah. Pengembangan Media PHET yang dikembangkan melalui tahapan: (a) Menyesuaikan dengan kurikulum 2013, memilih materi dimana kemampuan berpikir kritis dan pemecahan masalah siswa masih rendah yaitu materi pecahan, pola bilangan, dimensi tiga, serta menganalisis sejauh mana kemampuan siswa, dan membuat media PHET yang mudah dioperasikan, (b) Menyusun storyboard, (c) Memilih karakter yang sesuai dengan karakteristik siswa di setiap jenjang, warna yang dapat meningkatkan semangat belajar, dan sound effect, (d) Pembuatan media PHET dengan Unity, (e) Penilaian oleh validator bahwa media PHET dan instrumen valid dan reliabel, dan (f) Implementasi media untuk setiap jenjang didapatkan jika media PHET praktis. Penerapan media PHET terhadap siswa juga dikatakan efektif karena dapat melatihkan kemampuan berpikir kritis dengan hasil tes pada kategori sedang dan tinggi. 21st century education must facilitate distance learning, and students are required to have critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Therefore, it is important to develop technology-based mathematics learning media in practicing critical thinking and problem-solving skills. This type of research is development research with a quantitative approach. The development phase consists of 6 phases: initiation, specification, design, production, review and evaluation, delivery and implementation. The selection of research subjects were 36 students of class V, 27 students of class IX, and 30 students of class XII. The research instruments are observation sheets, interviews, response questionnaires, and critical thinking and problem-solving tests. Analysis of the validity and practicality of PHET media developed with the validities of media products and materials, as well as analysis of student response questionnaire analysis. The analysis of the effectiveness of the media with the analysis of critical thinking skills and problem solving. The development of PHET Media which was developed through the following stages: (a) Adapting to the 2013 curriculum, choosing materials where students' critical thinking and problem solving skills are still low, namely fractional material, number patterns, three dimensions, as well as analyzing the extent of students' abilities, and making PHET media that easy to operate; (b) Prepare storyboards; (c) Choose characters that match the characteristics of students at each level, colors that can increase enthusiasm for learning, and sound effects; (d) Making PHET media with Unity; (e) Assessment by the validator that PHET media and instruments are valid and reliable; (f) Implementation of media for each level is obtained if PHET media is practical. The application of PHET media to students is also said to be effective because it can train critical thinking skills with test results in the medium and high categories.
