Abstract

The subject of Islamic politics is of utmost importance in building Islamic civilization, ancient and modern. Mistakes in understanding legitimate politics are a great problem in our society today. Abd al-Razzaq al-Sanhuri and Taqi al-Din al-Nabhani had understandings, opinions, values, and experience in building Islamic civilization. We benefit from studying and comparing them for a correct understanding of the subject of islamic politics. The political crisis that occurred within some countries or their international relations needs solutions, and to know how to implement Sharia politics and the method of applying it in the present era in which many diverse political ideas have spread, Muslims should know the concept of Sharia politics and the opinions of scholars about it, which is the result of thinking and understanding. Conscious and rational in its topics, including the issue of authority or the legitimate political institution, which in our time is now called the state. This research aims to know the concept of Sharia politics, especially with Abd al-Razzaq al-Sanhuri and Taqi al-Din al-Nabhani, then know its personality and contributions to building the civilization of the nation, as well as knowing the aspects of agreement and differences between the views of Sharia politics with Abd al-Razzaq al-Sanhuri and Taqi al-Din al-Nabhani.

Abstract

This study aims to understand the concept of sharia/Islamic politics, especially according to `Abd Al-Razzāq Al-Sanhūrī and Taqī Al-Dīn Al-Nabhānī, by knowing the figures and their contributions in building the nation's civilization, and studying the points of agreement and disagreement between their opinions on the topics of Sharia politics. The study uses a descriptive analytical approach of the library research type, where the research problems are discussed by referring to the books and works of `Abd Al-Razzāq Al-Sanhūrī and Taqī Al-Dīn Al-Nabhānī, as well as other sources, from books, journals and websites related to the subject matter. Among the most important research results is that `Abd Al-Razzāq Al-Sanhūrī and Taqī Al-Dīn Al-Nabhānī agree on the need for law to establish the caliphate, the origin of the caliphate and its functions, the division of power, and the unity of the caliphate. Al-Sanhuri and al-Nabhani differed regarding the types of caliphate, and regarding the methods and procedures for establishing the caliphate.

Abstract

This research stems from a firm will and desire to explore the Qur’anic guidance on human development by highlighting the value of justice in Surah An-Nisa. A comprehensive and brief look at the guidance, knowledge, and objectives found in Surah An-Nisa clearly reveals the significance of justice, as the surah explains and demonstrates its fundamental, general, and detailed principles—whether ethical, human, political, social, legal, judicial, or international, on individual, family, or societal levels. Just as the essence of religion is inseparable from monotheism (tawhid), it also cannot thrive without the spirit of justice. The Qur'an establishes everything on the foundation of justice and fairness, and revolves around these two principles. This research is a qualitative study based on classical and contemporary works of Tafsir and Qur’anic sciences, as well as linguistic references particularly those related to the concept of justice in the Qur’an. It is further supported by secondary sources, including scholarly articles, books, and academic publications. Using the descriptive-analytical method, the study concludes that justice plays a significant role in the development and advancement of both individuals and societies. Surah An-Nisa offers clear guidance on this through its various themes and issues.

Abstract

This research challenges the stereotypes perpetuated by Orientalists and Western scholars that portray women in Islamic societies as oppressed and excluded from social and economic life. Through an analysis of historical records from the Mamluk era (1250–1517 CE), utilizing Women’s History Collections of the Mamluk Era as a source of social history and adopting the emancipatory approach, this study reveals the significant roles women played in education, healthcare, trade, and charitable work. The study examines the legal and social frameworks governing women’s work and property rights, highlighting the agency and autonomy women exercised in their daily lives. By contextualizing this historical evidence within the broader discourse of social history and Islamic studies, the research refutes prevailing stereotypes and offers a more nuanced and comprehensive understanding of women’s experiences in Islamic societies. Thus, this research contributes to a more informed and inclusive discussion on social history within the context of Islamic society.

Abstract

This study explores the concept of questioning in Islam and its significance from both religious and linguistic perspectives, highlighting its crucial role in acquiring knowledge, decision-making, and social interaction. The research problem arises from the need to understand Islam’s stance on questioning, particularly given the existence of Quranic verses and Prophetic traditions that both encourage and discourage it. This apparent contradiction necessitates a thorough examination to determine when questioning is praiseworthy and when it is reproachable. The study’s significance lies in offering a balanced perspective that enables Muslims to utilize questioning effectively without transgressing religious boundaries while also enriching Islamic studies related to jurisprudence and inference. Employing an analytical and inductive methodology, the research collects and examines scriptural texts and scholarly opinions to derive well-founded conclusions. The findings indicate that although purposeful and constructive questioning remains an essential component in the Islamic educational framework, command, need, concern, and benefit are concepts required of the questioner when practicing questioning in order to make the resulting questions praiseworthy. These concepts ensure that through preventing the questioner from unnecessary self-burdening, stubbornness, or merely testing his interlocutor or making a mockery of him or any such reprehensible and undesirable traits. It also demonstrates the relation between necessities, needs, and improvements as understood and used in the field of the Maqāsid al-Sharee’ah and the four concepts required of a praiseworthy questioner.

Abstract

The Qibla direction constitutes a fundamental element in Islamic worship, particularly in the performance of prayer, as it is one of the essential conditions for its validity. However, the accuracy of the Qibla orientation in many mosques remains an issue that requires re-examination, including in Al-Muhajirin Mosque, Keerom, Papua. This study aims to analyze and reconstruct the Qibla orientation of the mosque by employing both astronomical and jurisprudential approaches. The falakiyyah approach involves field observation and measurement using Qibla-determining instruments such as the compass, theodolite, and Qibla applications. The fiqhiyyah analysis engages in a literature study of classical fiqh texts and relevant legal opinions (fatwas) concerning the importance of Qibla accuracy, complemented by interviews with local religious figures to capture communal perceptions of Qibla correction. The research adopts a field research design with a descriptive-qualitative approach, integrating both astronomical and juridical perspectives. The findings indicate a measurable deviation in the current Qibla orientation, necessitating correction to align with precise geographical coordinates. From a jurisprudential perspective, adjusting the Qibla becomes imperative in order to achieve the integrity of worship. Consequently, the reconstruction entails both positive and negative implications for the congregation of Al-Muhajirin Mosque.

Abstract

The research aims to know the role of women in teaching legal rulings before society in Surat An-Nahl: 125, a comparative study between the interpretations of Al-Bahr Al-Moheet and Nizam Al-Durar in the proportion of verses and surahs. As for the research method, it is the comparative method, which is that the interpreter relies on a group of Qur’anic verses in one place, so he explores the views of the interpreters following what was written in the interpretation of that sentence of verses by describing the methods of interpretation of Sheikh Abi Hayyan Al-Andalusi and Sheikh Burhan Al-Din Al-Baq’i through their interpretations, and then I analyze their ideas about the role of women in teaching Islamic rulings before society in Islam in Surat An-Nahl, verse 125, and then compare their opinion with the discussion. As for the method of this research, it is a library method by collecting information from sources and references related to the topic from books of interpretation. and the sciences of the Qur’an. One of the results of this research is that the Sufi color that approached the interpretation of Abu Hayyan Al-Andalusi and learned the occasion when interpreting the Bekaa’i, this interpretation was able to draw the role of women in teaching the legal rulings before the community. Abu Hayyan al-Andalusi and al-Biqaa’i said that God commands the caller to call to the religion of Islam with wisdom, i.e. the Qur’an, and by the preaching of the Qur’an, he means by good exhortation and by means of arguing with kindness and gentleness. This is the way to achieve success in the field of calling to the path of God.

Abstract

Bank is an institution that operates without interest, whose activities are to realize material benefits through the collection and distribution of funds in accordance with sharia, where aspects of the implementation of prudential principles and good governance are supervised by the OJK. While the system and mechanism for the fulfillment of sharia compliance, the institution that has an important role is the National Sharia Council (DSN) of the MUI to issue a fatwa on the conformity of sharia for a bank product. Then the POJK emphasized that all Islamic banking products should only be offered to the public after the bank received a fatwa from the DSN MUI and obtained permission from the OJK. In the operational order, each Islamic bank is also required to have a Sharia Supervisory Board (DPS) which functions for sharia supervision and as an advisor in answering questions regarding whether its activities are sharia-compliant or not.Islamic banking in Indonesia continues to develop gradually and progress. In recent years, Islamic Banking has been on the rise, triggered by the great desire of the public to obtain halalness in conflict with banks. This shows that the prospect of Bank Syariah Indonesia will improve, especially with the merger of three Islamic Banks in Indonesia, namely PT. Bank Mandiri Syariah, PT. BNI Syariah and PT. BRIS, Tbk. To become Bank Syariah Indonesia Tbk, which is expected by the government so that Indonesia can become a barometer of the Islamic economy in the world and will be ranked seventh in Indonesia based on assets.
