Abstract

The progress of communication technologies, especially post-Covid-19, has changed general behavior patterns and premarital rehabilitation programs. Traditionally held at religious affairs offices (KUA), these programs are now frequently found on social media platforms like Instagram, YouTube, and Facebook with various type. This research was presented to answer a valid question about premarital guidance program chapters via social media, how they were applied and whether they demonstrated good effectiveness. By employing qualitative study, the research found that the premarital guidance program through the social network provide sufficient and innovative materials for their followers and conducting in an appropriate manner and advanced way. As for the effectiveness of the pre-marriage guidance program classes through social media platforms, the result showed that they have good effectiveness, either in terms of the participants’ assimilation of the materials, or in terms of organizing the programs, both in terms of the method of delivering and developing affection and the experience of the mentors. However, there is still a weakness in terms of the lack of dialogue between the counsellors and the participants, the lack of discussion of experiences and facts about family life, and case studies.

Abstract

Abstract

This research examines the Rebo Wekasan tradition carried out in Wonokromo Village, Pleret, Bantul, Yogyakarta from the perspective of Islamic Aqidah and Shariah. Rebo Wekasan is an annual ritual held on the last Wednesday of the month of Safar in the Hijri calendar. The aim of this research is to analyze the conformity of Rebo Wekasan practices with the principles of Islamic Aqidah and Shariah. The research method used was qualitative by collecting data through in-depth interviews with religious figures, government officials, ritual practitioners and Wonokromo residents, as well as through literature studies related to Aqidah and Shariah. The research reveals that although Rebo Wekasan is rooted in pre-Islamic traditions, the Wonokromo people have made various modifications to align it with Islamic teachings. This research concludes that Rebo Wekasan in Wonokromo reflects the dynamics of acculturation between Javanese and Islamic culture. The community seeks to maintain their cultural identity while adhering to the principles of Tauhid

Abstract

Cursing God and religion is a phenomenon that continues to spread in twelve Arab countries and urged to be resolved. This research aims to strengthen and improve the way to combat this phenomenon from the side of da'wah by outlining several issues, such as; the widespread confusion that hampers efforts to resolve this phenomenon in terms of da'wah, sharia law related to vigilantism to perpetrators of blasphemy of God and religion acted upon unemphatically by positive law, the reasons that cause people to gradually insult God and religion, and a comparison of the efforts of the two most prominent media outlets in each Arab country to find out whether they are carrying out their journalistic responsibilities. Using descriptive, analytical, and inductive methods, this study concludes that vigilante actions against perpetrators of blasphemy of God are prohibited because this is part of the verse that prohibits blasphemy. In addition, most popular media channels have played a less important role in resolving this phenomenon.

Abstract

Educational technology is a crucial tool for advancing the teaching-learning process, prompting researchers to explore supportive digital media. This study examined the impact of implementing the digital tool ClassDojo with the Flipped Classroom model in teaching Arabic to ninth-grade students at two schools in Medan. The research responded to the rising need to improve students’ Arabic skills and foster greater engagement in the learning process, especially amid shifts to technology-based models that support self-directed learning. This study employed a descriptive qualitative method to explore the experiences and perceptions of students and teachers regarding the implementation of ClassDojo using the Flipped Classroom model. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation, as well as primary sources such as students and teachers and secondary sources such as previous studies and relevant literature. The researchers analyzed the data using statistical analysis tools and examined interview data to understand the impact of the Flipped Classroom model with ClassDojo on student learning. Results show that using ClassDojo in the Flipped Classroom model significantly improves students’ engagement and comprehension compared to traditional methods. This study highlights the value of integrating educational technology with innovative models like Flipped Classroom to enhance learning effectiveness and provide an interactive learning environment.

Abstract

The Alfiyyah by Ibn Malik is highly renowned in the Islamic world, including Indonesia, particularly in traditional pesantren, as a primary reference for Arabic grammar. However, this monumental work is not without criticism. One of its critics is Abu Hayyan al-Nahwi, an Andalusian linguist, who expressed his critique in his book Manhaj al-Salik fi al-Kalam ‘ala Alfiyyah Ibn Malik. Abu Hayyan highlighted various issues in Alfiyyah, particularly regarding anomalous data, which he believed were often based on weak opinions or rarely transmitted sources. In his preface, Abu Hayyan stated that Ibn Malik “chose what is unfamiliar and abandoned the majority of grammarians' views.” This study aims to explore Abu Hayyan's critique of the anomalous data in Alfiyyah through a qualitative descriptive approach based on library research. The findings reveal six main reasons behind Abu Hayyan's critique: Ibn Malik’s interpretations were speculative, his claims of anomaly involved data that were actually eloquent, deviations from the principle of relying on authoritative linguistic sources, analogies drawn from data outside their context, a tendency to favor minority opinions, and inconsistencies in grammatical rules. This critique reflects Abu Hayyan’s effort to establish a more accurate and reliable framework for deriving grammatical rulings.

Abstract

AbstractThis research challenges the stereotypes perpetuated by Orientalists and Western scholars that portray women in Islamic societies as oppressed and excluded from social and economic life. Through an analysis of historical records from the Mamluk era (1250–1517 CE), utilizing Women’s History Collections of the Mamluk Era as a source of social history and adopting the emancipatory approach, this study reveals the significant roles women played in education, healthcare, trade, and charitable work. The study examines the legal and social frameworks governing women’s work and property rights, highlighting the agency and autonomy women exercised in their daily lives. By contextualizing this historical evidence within the broader discourse of social history and Islamic studies, the research refutes prevailing stereotypes and offers a more nuanced and comprehensive understanding of women’s experiences in Islamic societies. Thus, this research contributes to a more informed and inclusive discussion on social history within the context of Islamic society.

Abstract
