Abstract

The low-cost apartment implementation program is one of the reliable solutions to reduce housing needs in East Java Province. Eventhough there were many problems facing the low cost apartmen program implementation, private sector is still highly expected to contribute in this program. The objective of this research is to identify public private partnership benefits from stakeholder perception. The benefit variables to better understand the low-cost apartment implementation which obtained from literature review studies were then validated by 32 purposive sampling respondents from both government and private sectors. These variables were then identified and analyzed using statistical analysis. The results show that the benefit factors from both government and private sector perception are better risk allocation and accelarate infrastructure development

Abstract

PT. Astra Otoparts Winteq Division is an industry engaged in the manufacture of machines with special purpose. Assembling machines using tools such as pliers, screwdrivers, avometers and so forth. These tools will be stored in a place called Tool's Crib, where the operation is done manually with the presence of administrators who serve transactions and bookkeeping is also written conventionally. Bookkeeping of this type causes the information that employees get about the Tool's Crib a bit. Automation Tool's Crib is a tool designed to help with the operation of the Tool's Crib system more effectively with RFID, PLC, applications, databases and web servers. This system also utilizes the application of the internet of things with a website to get information from the machine. This new system can help the administrator work in automated bookkeeping of transactions, so the data in the database can be processed into information in the form of a list of tools that are available on the cabinet, the transaction history of each employee as well as tools that are still borrowed by employees on the website. The management may supervise the transaction and know the condition of the equipment which is also an asset of the company. Tests carried out as many as 50 transactions (borrowing and return) and indicate that changes in data residing on the database can be displayed on the website correctly. All data displayed on the website in each menu is always in accordance with the conditions of the machine.

Abstract

Abstract¾ This paper presents a comparative study of finger vein recognition using various features with Learning Vector Quantization (LVQ) as a classification method. For the purpose of this study, two main features are employed: Scale Invariant Feature Transform (SIFT) and Local Extensive Binary Pattern (LEBP). The other features that formed LEBP features: Local Multilayer Binary Pattern (LmBP) and Local Directional Binary Pattern (LdBP) are also employed. The type of images are also become the base of comparison. The SIFT features will be extracted from two types of images which are grayscale and binary images. The feature that have been extracted become the input for recognition stage. In recognition stage, LVQ classifier is used. LVQ will classify the images into two class which are the recognizable images and non recognizable images. The accuracy, false positive rate (FPR), and true positive rate (TPR) value are used to evaluate the performance of finger vein recognition. The performance result of finger vein recognition becomes the main study for comparison stage. From the experiments result, it can be found which feature is the best for finger vein reconition using LVQ. The performance of finger vein recognition that use SIFT feature from binary images give a slightly better result than uisng LmBP, LdBP, or LEBP feature. The accuracy value could achieve 97,45%, TPR at 0,9000 and FPR at 0,0129.

Abstract

The vast distribution of limestone in the Philippines makes limestone quarrying prevalent resulting to the accumulation of waste limestone. This opened the idea of utilizing the wastes as embankment materials which would result to a more economical construction. In order to test the ability of limestone to be an embankment material, its strength and consolidation parameters are evaluated in different mixed proportions, at 0%, 20%, 40%, 60% and 100%, with the conventional embankment material using the direct shear test. Index properties (i.e. specific gravity, Atterberg limits, and maximum and minimum index densities) were obtained for all the blends in order to produce empirical relationships with the different percentage of limestone. It was found out that the cohesion increased with the addition of limestone, although there was a decrease in the internal angle of friction.

Abstract

Traditionally radiology produces a visual representation of medical images in film format for further clinical analysis. While some healthcare providers still used films to display scan results, others are embracing the advancing technology of digital medical images. In radiology, this medical imaging technique is generally equated to filmless radiology. However, modern technology has enabled other clinical areas beyond radiology to use digital imaging, including cardiology, pathology, obstetric and gynecology, orthopedic and dentistry. This widely implementation of filmless system in hospital is known as filmless hospital. This paper discusses filmless hospital using picture archiving and communication system (PACS) as workflow controller as a case study at National Hospital Surabaya.

Abstract

Many studies have concluded that traditional house works in close relationship with climate of a place. The studies also stated that building played an important role in determining the good indoor climatic conditions, but some of the study indicated that aside from the influence of building, occupant also governed the climatic performance. The present study closely investigated traditional Savunese house in East Nusa Tenggara-Indonesia, and was aimed to identify relationship of occupancy pattern with thermal condition of the building. Primary data were obtained from field observation and interview. These included indoor, outdoor air temperature, and occupancy pattern. Data obtained from BMKG (Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency), representing average climatic condition of a ten-year period. The measurement of air temperature was done using Memory Hilogger, and observation and structured interviewed sheets were employed to record occupancy pattern. The study showed that during the dry season, the building was only experienced daily comfortable conditions for 14 hours (58%). Out of these 14 hour comfortable conditions, 79% of the time occurred when the inhabitant were in the building. The study concluded that building elements were not the sole determinant of its good performance, but the way inhabitant occupied the house was also the contributor.

Abstract

The number of disasters that struck the building is influenced by various factors. Important factors are often the cause is such as natural disasters, high accelerated and suddenly activity, the magnitude of the circulation that supports, as well as the availability of other supporting facilities in the building. The density of the building is the focus of major concern in minimizing the number of victims in the building when the disaster occurred. Increasing accidents victims may occur due to tightness when the evacuation or in an attempt to escape. Efforts to minimize such casualties into account the circumstances of users of the building. One alternative in predicting users building density and the flow of circulation are the ESVA (Environmental Socialization Value Analysis) analysis method. This method calculated the number of users and resources to support the building. Mark or grade obtained will illustrate the high risk of accidents can happen. Factors that will be analyzed in this ESVA method related to activity and socialization activities that occur in it. User activity in the building related to its users behavior patterns. Finally, the ESVA development through deepening the analysis of user socialization behavior patterns of the building will increase the accuracy of victim risk prediction disaster in buildings.

Abstract

One of logistics activities is product distribution. PT Stars has several obstacles in their distribution activity including the limited number and capacity of the company vehicles, the difference in the number of consumer requests, and the spread consumer locations. The methods used in this research were Saving Matrix, Nearest Neighbor, and Genetic Algorithm. By employing biological evolution concept, an output was produced in the form of a combination of goods distribution route that should be taken to optimize the capacity and travel cost. The results obtained from the calculation on Saving Matrix and Nearest Neighbor were two routes for Genetic Algorithm manually and constructively using MATLAB at PT Stars Internasional. Based on the calculation process, two solutions were obtained using Nearest Neighbor with two distribution routes, while 14 distribution routes were generated using Genetic Algorithm with a maximum capacity of 3,720 pairs.
