Abstract

Penelitian deskriptif kualitatif ini bertujuan untuk membandingkan perbedaan dan persamaan awalan dan akhiran dalam hal process derivasi dan inlfeksi dari dialek Wongaya Gede dan Tajen. Data dikumpulkan melalui teknik observasi, rekaman, dan interpiu (mendengarkan dan mencatat). Terdapat enam informan yang dipilih dari dua dialek. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa terdapat lima awalan dan enam akhiran yang ada di dialek Wongaya Gede: awalan {ә-}, {kә-}, {mә-}, {N-}, dan {si-} serta akhiran {-an}, {-in}, {-n}, {ne-}, {-ә}, dan {-әng}. Sedangkan, terdapat enam awalan dan akhiran yang ada di dialek Tajen: awalan {a-}, {bә-}, {kә-}, {mә-}, {N-}, dan {si-}, serta akhiran {-ang}, {-an}, {-in}, {-n}, {-ә}, dan {-ne}. Awalan yang sama yang mengalami morfem derivasi adalah awalan {kә-}, {mә-}, {N-}, dan {si-} dan tidak adanya perbedaan awalan. Awalan yang sama yang mengalami morfem infleksi adalah awalan {mә-}, {N-} sedangkan awalan yang berbeda adalah awalan {-ә} di dialek Wongaya Gede yang memiliki fungsi sama dengan awalan {a-} di dialek Tajen yang hanya dibedakan dari cara pengucapannya dan awalan {bә-} yang hanya ada di dialek Tajen. Tidak adanya persamana akhiran yang mengalami morfem derivasi dari kedua dialek, sedangkan akhiran yang berbeda adalah akhiran {-ang}, {-an}, {-in} yang hanya terdapat di dialek Tajen dan akhiran {-әng} di dialek Wongaya Gede yang memiliki fungsi yang sama dengan akhiran {-ang} dari dialek Tajen namun dibedakan dari segi pengucapannya. Persamaan akhiran yang mengalami morfem infleksi adalah akhiran {-an}, {-in}, {-n}, {ne-}, {-ә} dan tidak adanya perbedaan. Kata Kunci : Awalan dan Akhiran Derivasi, Awalan dan Akhiran Infleksi, Dialek Wongaya Gede dan Tajen This descriptive qualitative study aimed at comparing the differences and similarities of prefixes and suffixes in Wongaya Gede and Tajen dialects in the terms of derivational and inflectional processes. The data were collected through observation, recording, and interview (listening and noting) techniques. There were six informants chosen of the two dialects. The results of the study show that there are five prefixes and six suffixes existing in Wongaya Gede: prefix {ǝ-}, {kǝ-}, {mǝ-}, {N-}, and {si-} and suffix {-an}, {-in}, {-n}, {-nǝ}, {-ǝ}, and {-ǝng}. Meanwhile, there are six prefixes and suffixes existing in Tajen dialect: prefix {a-}, {bǝ-}, {kǝ-}, {mǝ-}, {N-}, and {si-} and suffix {-ang}, {-an}, {-in}, {-n}, and {-ǝ}, and {-nǝ}. The same prefixes undergoing derivational morphemes are prefix {kǝ-}, {mǝ-}, {N-}, and {si-} and there is no different prefixes. The same prefixes undergoing inflectional morphemes are prefix {mǝ-}, and {N-} and the difference is prefix {ǝ-} of Wongaya Gede dialect which has the same function with prefix {a-} of Tajen dialect differentiating on how they are pronounced and prefix {bǝ-}. There is no similarities of suffixes which undergo derivational morphemes. The different suffixes undergoing derivational morphemes are suffix {-ang}, {-an}, and {-in} which was found on Tajen dialect, and suffix {-ǝng} of Wogaya Gede dialect which has the same function as suffix {-ang} of Tajen dialect: differentiating on how they are pronounced. The same suffixes undergoing inflectional morphemes are suffix {-an}, {-in}, {-ne}, {-ǝ}, and {-n}. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: (1) mengidentifikasi materi Bahasa Inggris berbasis e-learning yang dibutuhkan oleh siswa kelas sepuluh jurusan Teknik Kendaraan Ringan di SMK N Bali Mandara; (2) mengidentifikasi desain dari materi Bahasa Inggris berbasis e-learning untuk siswa kelas sepuluh jurusan Teknik Kendaraan Ringan di SMK N Bali Mandara; (3) mengukur kualitas materi Bahasa Inggris berbasis e-learning untuk siswa kelas sepuluh jurusan Teknik Kendaraan Ringan di SMK N Bali Mandara. Penelitian ini dilakukan berdasarkan pada desain penelitian dan pengembangan (R&D) oleh Lee dan Owens (2004). Data penelitian dikumpulkan melalui analisis dokumen, angket dan uji ahli. Hasil data dari analisis dokumen dan angket dianalisis dengan menggunakan analisis deskriptif, data dari uji ahli dianalisis secara kuantitatif dengan formula dari Candiasa (2010). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) siswa kelas sepuluh jurusan Teknik Kendaraan Ringan di SMK N Bali Mandara masih diajarkan dengan materi Bahasa Inggris umum, dan siswa membutuhkan pengembangan materi Bahasa Inggris yang sesuai dengan jurusannya; (2) desain materi Bahasa Inggris berbasis e-learning untuk siswa kelas sepuluh jurusan Teknik Kendaraan Ringan berdasarkan standar kompetensi yang harus dicapai siswa; (3) materi Bahasa Inggris berbasis e-learning untuk siswa kelas sepuluh jurusan Teknik Kendaraan Ringan dikategorikan sebagai materi yang berkualitas sangat baik berdasarkan hasil uji ahli.Kata Kunci : R & D, e-learning, materi Bahasa Inggris This study aimed at: (1) identifying e-learning based English materials which were needed by the tenth grade students of Light Vehicle Department at SMK N Bali Mandara; (2) identifying the design of the e-learning based English materials for the tenth grade students of Light Vehicle Department at SMK N Bali Mandara; (3) measuring the quality of the e-learning based English materials for the tenth grade students of Light Vehicle Department at SMK N Bali Mandara. This study applied Research and Development designed by Lee and Owens (2004). The data of the study were collected through document analysis, questionnaire, and expert judge. The results of the data from the document analysis and questionnaire were analyzed descriptively; the data from expert judge was analyzed quantitatively by using a formula proposed by Candiasa (2010). The result of the study showed that (1) the tenth grade students of Light vehicle Department at SMK N Bali Mandara were still taught using general English and the students needed English materials which were developed in accordance with their expertise program; (2) the design of the e-learning based English materials for the tenth grade students of Light Vehicle Department was developed based on the basic competencies; (3) the e-learning based English materials for the tenth grade students of Light Vehicle Department was categorized as very good material based on the result of expert judgment.keyword : R&D, e-learning, English material

Abstract

THE EFFECT OF DIGITAL FLASHCARD ON STUDENTS’ VOCABULARY MASTERY OF THE FOURTH GRADE STUDENTS AT SD NEGERI 1 & 2 PAKET AGUNG IN THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2016/2017 Oleh Putu Kusumawati, NIM 1312021225 Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris, Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha, ABSTRAK Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk meneliti pengaruh signifikan media digital flashcard pada pembelajaran Vocabulary terhadap siswa kelas 4 di SD Negeri 1 & 2 Paket Agung dalam tahun akademik 2016/2017. Desain dari penelitian ini menggunakan Post test only control group dari model Quasi Experimental Research. Adapun populasi dari penelitian ini melibatkan siswa SD Negeri 1 & 2 Paket Agung. Selain itu sampel dari penelitian tersebut terdiri dari 38 siswa kelas 4 di SD Negeri Paket Agung sementara SD Negeri 2 Paket Agung terdiri dari 40 siswa yang dipilih dengan menggunakan teknik simple random sampling. Data dari penelitian tersebut dianalisis dengan menggunakan descriptive and inferential statistical analysis. Berdasarkan hasil perhitungan hipotesis (independent t-test) menunjukkan bahwa hasil dari tobs = 3754>tcv = 2.000 sementara nilai signifikan data tersebut adalah .000 yang nilainya lebih rendah dari ɑ = 0.05. Hasil analisis data tersebut mengindikasikan bahwa ada pengaruh yang signifikan dalam penggunaan media Digital Flashcard terhadap penguasaan kosakata. The design of this study used post test only control group of quasi experimental research. Therefore the population of this study was SD Negeri 1 & 2 Paket Agung. The samples of this study were 38 students of fourth grade in SD Negeri 1 Paket Agung and 40 students of fourth grades in SD Negeri 2 Paket Agung selected by using simple random sampling technique. The data were analysed by using descriptive and inferential statistical analysis. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menyelidiki apakah terdapat pengaruh yang berarti terhadap pemahaman membaca siswa kelas sebelas antara siswa yang diajarkan menggunakan Directed Reading Thinking Activity in Cooperative Learning Setting dan siswa yang diajarkan dengan Directed Reading Thinking Activity saja. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian ekperimental dengan Post-Test Only Control Group Design. Penilitian ini dilaksanakan di SMA N 3 Singaraja. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas sebelas pada tahun ajaran 2016/2017 dengan sampel dari 65 siswa yang dipilih melalui random sampling. Data dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan test pemahaman membaca. Data yang terkumpul dianalisa menggunakan t-test dibantu dengan SPSS 22.0. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan dalam kemampuan membaca siswa kelas sebelas, dimana siswa yang diajar menggunakan Directed Reading Thinking Activity in Cooperative Learning Setting menunjukkan pemahaman membaca yang lebih baik dibandingkan dengan siswa yang diajar mengunakan Directed Reading Thinking Activity saja (tobs = 4.056, p < 0.05).Kata Kunci : cooperative learning, directed reading thinking activity, kemampuan memahami bacaan This research was aimed at investigating whether there was a significant effect on reading comprehension of the eleventh grade students who were taught by using Directed Reading Thinking Activity in Cooperative Learning Setting and who were taught by using Directed Reading Thinking Activity only. The research was an experimental research with Post-Test Only Control Group Design. The research was conducted at SMA N 3 Singaraja. The population of this research was the eleventh grade students in academic year 2016/2017 with the samples of 65 students who were selected through random sampling technique. The data were collected by using reading comprehension test. The obtained data were analyzed by using t-test assisted with SPSS 22.0. The result of the research showed that there was a significant effect on reading comprehension of the eleventh grade students in which the students who were taught by using Directed Reading Thinking Activity in Cooperative Learning Setting achieved better reading comprehension than who were taught by using Directed Reading Thinking Activity only (tobs = 4.056, p < 0.05).keyword : cooperative learning, directed reading thinking activity, reading comprehension

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi makna kata “rose” pada tiga jenis puisi yang berjudul “A Red, Red Rose”, “A White Rose” dan “How Roses Came Red”. Makna kata “rose” pada tiga puisi tersebut disampaikan melalui figurative languages dan tone. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah textual analysis. Hasil dari penelitian ini menyatakan bahwa makna kata “rose” pada tiga puisi tersebut adalah pengetahuan. Selain itu, ketiga puisi ini menyampaikan hal yang sama, yaitu antusiasme. Antusiasme merupakan hal yang sangat penting dalam mencapai sebuah pengetahuan. Antusiasme berperan sebagai usaha yang dilakukan oleh speaker dalam mendapatkan sebuah pengetahuan. Dalam prosesnya, speaker juga menghadapi beberapa hambatan. Semua hambatan tersebut hanya mampu dilewati dengan memiliki antusiasme. Tanpa adanya antusiasme maka sangatlah mustahil untuk bisa mendpatkan pengetahuan. Pengetahuan yang dimaksud adalah puisi. Puisi merupakan salah satu subjek yang mampu menyampaikan pengetahuan. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pengetahuan adalah hal yang indah, manis, abadi dan antusias. Kata Kunci : rose, symbol, puisi The purpose of this study was to identify the meaning of rose in three poems entitled “A Red, Red Rose”, “A White Rose” and “How Roses Came Red”. This study used textual analysis as the method for analyzing the meaning of rose in three poems as delivered through figurative languages and tone at each poem. The result of analysis showed the meaning of rose was knowledge. Furthermore, these poems also delivered the same point. It was passion. Passion was highly needed to get the knowledge. The passion acted as the effort of the speaker to have the knowledge. The passion directed the speaker to do something. It helped the speaker to get the knowledge easier. In the process of getting the knowledge, the speaker found some obstacles. All the obstacles could only be passed by having the passion. Without having passion, it was impossible for getting the knowledge. The knowledge meant in this study was poetry. Poetry was one of the subjects which delivered the knowledge. This study showed the knowledge was very beautiful, sweet, eternal and passion. keyword : rose, symbol, poetry

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menyelidiki apakah ada atau tidak ada perbedaan yang signifikan dalam prestasi berbicara antara siswa yang diajarkan dengan menggunakan teknik round robin dan mereka yang diajarkan dengan menggunakan teknik praktek percakapan. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah Post-test Only Control Group Design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas tujuh SMP Negeri 4 Singaraja dan penentuan sampel penelitian menggunakan teknik Cluster Random Sampling. Kelas VIIB 4 terpilih sebagai kelas ekperimen dimana tehnik round robin digunakan dan kelas VIIB 5 terpilih sebagai kelas kontrol dimana teknik praktek percakapan digunakan. Hasil analis data menunjukan siswa di kelas ekperimen medapatkan hasil yang lebih baik daripada siswa di kelas control. Hal ini dibuktikan oleh hasil statistik deskriptif yang menunjukkan nilai rata-rata kelas eksperimen adalah 8,5 sedangkan nilai rata-rata dari kelompok kontrol adalah 7,9. Slain itu, hasil dari uji t-test juga menunjukkan bahwa nilai tob lebih besar dari tcv tersebut. Nilai tob itu-5,726 sedangkan nilai Tcv adalah1,99162 (α = 0,05). Ini berarti bahwa terdapat perbedaan prestasi berbicara yang signifikan antara siswa yang diajarkan dengan menggunakan teknik round robin dan mereka yang diajarkan dengan menggunakan teknik praktek percakapan. Jadi dapat disimpulkan bahwa round robin teknik dapat meningkatkan prestasi siswa dalam berbicara.Kata Kunci : teknik round robin, teknik praktek percakapan, prestasi dalam berbicara. The research design used in this study was Post-test Only Control Group Design. The population in this study was seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 4 Singaraja and the samples of study were selected by using Cluster Random Sampling. Class VIIB 4 was assigned as the experimental group, which was taught by using round robin technique while class VIIB 5 as the control group, which was taught by using conversation practice technique. The result of the data analysis showed that students in the experimental group performed better than the students in the control group. It was proven by the result of the descriptive statistics that showed the mean score of the experimental group was 8.5 while the mean score of the control group was 7.9. The result of the t-test also showed that the value of the tob was higher than the tcv. The value of the tob was -5.726, while the value of the tcv was1.99162 (α = 0.05). It means that there was a significant difference speaking achievement on the students who were taught using round robin technique and those who were taught by using conversation practice technique. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menyelidiki apakah ada atau tidak ada efek yang signifikan dari penggunaan song sebagai teknik mengajar dalam kemampuan mendengarkan dari siswa kelas VII di SMP Negeri 1 Banjar. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah Post-test Only Control Group Design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas tujuh SMP Negeri 1 Banjar dan penentuan sampel penelitian menggunakan teknik Cluster Random Sampling. Kelas VIIC terpilih sebagai kelas ekperimen dimana tehnik mengajar song digunakan dan kelas VIIF terpilih sebagai kelas kontrol dimana teknik mengajar lama digunakan. Hasil analis data menunjukan siswa di kelas eksperimen medapatkan hasil yang lebih baik daripada siswa di kelas kontrol. Hal ini dibuktikan oleh hasil statistik deskriptif yang menunjukkan nilai rata-rata kelas eksperimen adalah 79,79 sedangkan nilai rata-rata dari kelompok kontrol adalah 77,29. Selain itu, hasil dari uji t-test juga menunjukkan bahwa nilai tob lebih besar dari tcv tersebut. Nilai tob adalah 2.639 sedangkan nilai tcv adalah1.689 (α = 0,05). Ini berarti bahwa terdapat perbedaan kemampuan mendengarkan siswa yang signifikan antara siswa yang diajarkan dengan menggunakan teknik mengajar song dan mereka yang diajarkan dengan menggunakan teknik mengajar lama. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui adanya proses pembentukan kata yang terjadi pada bahasa Bali yang digunakan di desa Timbrah. Penelitian ini merupakan Deskriptif Kualitatif. Dalam pengumpulan data, penelitian ini menggunakan metode observasi dan metode interview. Data dikumpulkan berdasarkan 3 domain, yaitu: keluarga, pertemanan dan lingkungan. Peneliti mengumpulkan data berdasarkan prosedur penelitian menggunakan data analisis oleh Miles dan Huberman (1994). Objek penelitian ini adalah proses pembentukan kata bahasa bali pada desa timbrah. Adapun 2 macam dari proses morfologi yaitu: awalan dan akhiran. Adapun 6 pembentukan kata yaitu: gabungan kata, pengulangan kata, campuran kata, pemotongan kata, peminjaman kata dan akronim. Hasil penelitian ini menunujukan adanya tiga jenis awalan yang merupakan proses pembentukan suatu jenis kata {me-}, {N-} allomorph |ny| and {N-} allomorph |m|. Tujuh jenis akhiran yang dapat membentuk perubahan kata adalah jenis suffix {-an}, {-nye}, {-ne}, {-e}, {-ane}, {-ku} dan {-mu}. Lima jenis awalan yang tidak merubah kelas kata {me-}, {N-} allomorph |ng|, {N-} allomorph |n|, {a-} and {nge-}. Tiga jenis kata akhiran yang tidak merubah kelas kata {-e}, {-ang} dan {-in}. Adapun proses penambahan affiks salah satunya adalah prefiks {me-}, {N-} allomorph |ny|, {N-} allomorph |ng| and {a-} dan sufiks {-an}, {-ang} and {-in}. Adapun contoh dari penggabungan kata: kaje kangin dan kaje kauh. Pemendekan kata: au, ko, to dan jae. Blending kata: bangku, jangku, karjae dan binpuan. Pengulangan kata: dadong-dadong, ujan-ujan and kunang-kunan. Peminjaman kata: buku, kamar mandi dan baju. Singkatan kata: UNDIKNAS dan UNDIKSHAKata Kunci : Bahasa Bali, Perubahan Kata,Timbrah Dialek,. The aim of this study was to find about the morphological processes of Balinese dialect spoken by Timbrah villagers. The research was a descriptive qualitative research which used observation method and interview method. The data were collected in three different domains, namely: Family, Friendship and Neighborhood. The researcher collected the data based on the research procedure by using data analysis suggested by Miles and Huberman (1994). The object of the study was the morphological processes of Balinese Dialect in Timbrah village. There were two kinds of morphological processes, namely: Preixation and Suffixation. There were six kinds of word formation, namely: compounding, reduplication, blending, clipping, borrowing and acronym. There are three kinds of derivational prefixes, namely {me-}, {N-} allomorph |ny| and {N-} allomorph |m|. There are seven kinds of derivational suffixes, namely {-an}, {-nye}, {-ne}, {-e}, {-ane}, {-ku} and {-mu}. There are five kinds of inflectional prefixes, namely {me-}, {N-} allomorph |ng|, {N-} allomorph |n|, {a-} and {nge-}. There are three kinds of inflectional suffixes, namely {-e}, {-ang} and {-in}. There are Affixation process, namely prefixation of affixation {me-}, {N-} allomorph |ny|, {N-} allomorph |ng| and {a-}. Suffixation of affixation {-an}, {-ang} and {-in}. There were found compounding: kaje kangin and kaje kauh; clipping: au, ko, to, and jae; blending: bangku, jangku, karjae, and binpuan; reduplication: dadong-dadong, ujan-ujan, and kunang-kunang; borrowing: buku, kamar mandi, and baju; and acronym: UNDIKNAS and UNDIKSHA.keyword : Balinese Language , Timbrah Dialect, Morphological Process.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini ialah untuk (1) mengidentifikasi penggunaan ciri-ciri leksikogramatika yang ada pada iklan situs web hotel bintang lima di Bali, dan (2) menemukan persamaan serta perbedaan diantara iklan situs web hotel bintang lima di Bali terkait dengan ciri-ciri leksikogramatika. Data dalam penelitian ini berupa teks yang dikumpulkan dan diseleksi dari sepuluh iklan situs web hotel termasuk spa dan resor bintang lima di Bali. Data tersebut dianalisa secara deskriptif menggunakan kerangka Halliday dan Matthiessen. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dalam ranah sistem transitivitas, proses material mendominasi di setiap iklan situs web hotel bintang lima di Bali yang telah terseleksi, diikuti dengan proses relasional. Hasil dari analisis unsur sirkumstansial menunjukkan bahwa sirkumstansi lokasi merupakan unsur sirkumstansial yang paling sering muncul. Sedangkan, dalam ranah sistem mode, tipe mode deklarasi mendominasi kalimat-kalimat di setiap iklan situs web hotel bintang lima di Bali yang telah terseleksi. Lebih jauh lagi, ada pula tipe mode suruhan yang ditemukan pada sepuluh iklan situs web hotel bintang lima di Bali tersebut. Secara mengkhusus, terdapat banyak modal verbal yang ditemukan iklan-iklan tersebut. Hasil penelitian ini mengindikasikan bahwa kesepuluh iklan situs web hotel bintang lima di Bali tersebut secara menciri bertujuan untuk menginformasikan, menuntun, mengingatkan dan juga membujuk para pembaca yang dalam hal ini adalah para tamu hotel.Kata Kunci : unsur-unsur leksikogramatika, situs web hotel, iklan This study aimed at (1) identifying the use of lexicogrammatical features in five stars hotel website advertisements in Bali, and (2) finding out the similarities and the differences among the five stars hotel website advertisements in Bali in terms of lexicogrammatical features. The study involved ten selected five stars hotel website advertisements in Bali. The data were in the forms of texts collected from the ten five stars hotels including resort and spa website advertisements in Bali. The data were analyzed descriptively through Hallidays and Matthiessens framework, specifically focusing on transitivity system and mood system. The result showed that, in terms of transitivity system, material processes seemed dominated in every selected website advertisement, followed by relational processes. The result of circumstantial elements analysis showed that circumstances of location was the most frequent circumstantial element. Meanwhile, in terms of mood system, declarative mood types dominated in every selected five stars hotel website advertisement in Bali. Moreover, there were imperatives found on the ten selected hotel website advertisement. Specifically, there were numerous modal verbs found in the advertisements. The result of this study indicated that the ten selected five stars hotel website advertisements were characteristically meant to inform, guide, remind, as well as persuade the readers who were the hotels guests.keyword : lexicogrammatical features, hotel website, advertisement

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis fungsi dan ungkapan bahasa yang digunakan oleh pemandu wisata di Bali Best Memory Tours dalam menangani wisatawan. Untuk mencapai tujuan ini, penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian kualitatif deskriptif, yang dilakukan dengan mengamati, merekam audio, dan mewawancarai subjek. Subjek penelitian ini adalah 2 pemandu wisata di Bali Best Memory Tours. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ada 6 fungsi bahasa yang digunakan oleh pemandu wisata dalam menangani wisatawan, seperti: (1) fungsi untuk ucapan, (2) fungsi pemberian informasi, (3) fungsi untuk menawarkan sesuatu, (4). ) berfungsi untuk berterima kasih, (5) berfungsi untuk meminta maaf dan (6) berfungsi untuk mengucapkan selamat tinggal. Dari 6 fungsi bahasa, fungsi pemberian informasi banyak digunakan oleh pemandu wisata dalam menangani para wisatawan. Fungsi pemberian informasi sebanyak 58 kali (57%), kemudian dilanjutkan dengan fungsi untuk mengucapkan terima kasih sebanyak 11 kali (11%), berfungsi untuk menyapa 10 kali (10%), berfungsi untuk meminta maaf 9 kali (9%) dan berfungsi untuk menawarkan sesuatu 8 kali (8%). Fungsi bahasa yang paling sedikit yang digunakan oleh pemandu wisata adalah fungsi untuk mengucapkan selamat tinggal, yang muncul 5 kali (5%). Dalam mengekspresikan fungsi bahasa tersebut, pemandu wisata di Bali Best Memory Tours kebanyakan menggunakan ekspresi formal, yang digunakan 96% oleh kedua pemandu wisata. Dan ada 4% ekspresi informal yang digunakan oleh pemandu wisata dalam menangani para wisatawan.Kata Kunci : fungsi bahasa, ekspresi bahasa, pemandu wisata This study aimed at analyzing language functions and expressions used by the tour guides at Bali Best Memory Tours in handling tourists. The subjects of this study were 2 tour guides at Bali Best Memory Tours. The results of the study show that there were 6 language functions used by the tour guides in handling the tourists, such as: (1) function for greeting, (2) function for giving information, (3) function for offering something, (4) function for thanking, (5) function for apologizing and (6) function for saying goodbye. Out of 6 language functions, function for giving information was mostly used by the tour guides in handling the tourists. Function for giving information was used 58 times (57%), then followed by function for thanking that occurred 11 times (11%), function for greeting 10 times (10%), function for apologizing 9 times (9%) and function for offering something 8 times (8%). Moreover, the least language function that was used by the tour guides was the function for saying goodbye, occurring 5 times (5%). In expressing those language functions the tour guides at Bali Best Memory Tours mostly used formal expression, which were expressed 96% by both of the tour guides.
