Abstract

This research was a case study that observed the movement of Jamaah Anshorut Tauhid. JAT movement is a jihad movement with the aim of fighting for Islamic Sharia in Indonesia. This research uses qualitative deskriptif method in direct contact with the object under study. It gives a complete picture of the phenomenon of radical Islamic JAT movements that was religiously motivated and understand the process of dynamics and the purpose of the social change that they want. The radical changes that they expect was contradict with the regime in Indonesia. The government's refreshing action accompanies every step of the JAT jihadists. In fact, excessive force often carried out by the authorities to provide a deterrent effect. But such actions only lead to jihadist heroism and reinforce their beliefs. Two things should be explained in the JAT movement, firstly, JAT involvement in Aceh military training in 2010. This military training involved cross-tanzhim jihad in Indonesia. The alumnus of this training will form a new radical network affiliated with ISIS. Second, the influence of ISIS in Indonesia caused a split in JAT. For JAT jihadi that supports ISIS still survives under the leadership of Abu Bakar Ba'asyir and Aman Abdurrahman while those who refuse to join ISIS have to get out of tanzhim. Those who came out of JAT formed a new organisation with the name of Jamaah Anshorut Syariah (JAS) under the leadership of Muhammad Achwan.Penelitian ini merupakan studi kasus yang menyorot gerakan Jamaah Anshorut Tauhid. Gerakan JAT merupakan gerakan jihad dengan tujuan memperjuangkan 214 Syariat Islam di Indonesia. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptik kualitatif yang bersentuhan langsung dengan obyek yang diteliti. Memberikan gambaran utuh fenomena gerakan radikal Islam JAT yang bermotif agama dan memahami proses dinamika dan tujuan dari perubahan sosial yang hendak mereka wujudkan. Perubahan radikal yang mereka harapkan bertentangan dengan rezim di Indonesia. Tindakan refresif pemerintah mengiringi setiap langkah para jihadis JAT. Bahkan kerapkali kekerasan berlebihan dilakukan aparat untuk memberikan efek jera. Tetapi tindakan seperti ini hanya menimbulkan sikap heroisme jihadis dan semakin meneguhkan keyakinan mereka. Dua hal yang patut disorot dari gerakan JAT pertama, keterlibatan JAT dalam pelatihan militer Aceh tahun 2010. Pelatihan militer ini melibatkan lintas tanzhim jihad di Indonesia. Alumni dari pelatihan ini kelak membentuk jaringan radikal baru yang berafiliasi dengan ISIS. Kedua, pengaruh ISIS di Indonesia melahirkan perpecahan bagi JAT. Bagi jihadi JAT yang mendukung ISIS tetap bertahan dibawah pimpinan Abu Bakar Ba’asyir dan Aman Abdurrahman sedangkan yang menolak bergabung dengan ISIS harus keluar dari tanzhim. Mereka yang keluar dari JAT membentuk jamaah baru dengan nama Jamaah Anshorut Syariah (JAS) dibawah pimpinan Muhammad Achwan.

Abstract

Social change can be studied through the classical theory of sociology, which is known as the theory of historical circle. This theory explains that history is a recurring process.Social change is not moving along a straight line but rather it follows a circle. According to the theory, history becomes a decisive factor in the process of social change. Historical events cannot be separated from the actors of history (actor), namely the leaders that ultimately affect the course of changes that occur in society. This paper  attempts to present the study of social change perspective of history of a great man, namely the Prophet Yusuf. The success of the Prophet Yusuf inrescuing the Egyptians from the long drought deserves to be studied, both his position as the messenger of Allah and his status as a human being who has its own charm. Using the thematic interpretation method to interpret Quranic verses and fenomenological analysis methods to analyze topics related to the social phenomena contained in the story of Prophet Yusuf, this research founds that the concept of social change in the story of Yusuf lies on three aspects, namely the integrity of solid sturdiness, the concept of clear social change, and the planned process of social change. Perubahan sosial dapat dikaji melalui teori klasik sosiologi yakni teori lingkar sejarah. Teori ini menjelaskan bahwa sejarah merupakan proses yang berulang, perubahan sosial tidak bergerak menurut garis lurus melainkan melingkar. Menurut teori tersebut, sejarah menjadi faktor penentu dalam proses perubahan sosial. Peristiwa sejarah tidak dapat dipisahkan dari pelaku sejarah (actor), yakni profil orang besar yang pada akhirnya mempengaruhi jalannya perubahan-perubahan yang terjadi pada masyarakat. Dalam paper ini penulis berupaya menyajikan kajian perubahan sosial perspektif sejarah orang besar, yakni Nabi Yusuf as. Keberhasilan Nabi Yusuf as menyelamatkan rakyat Mesir dari masa kemarau yang panjang patut untuk dikaji, baik posisinya sebagai utusan Allah dan statusnya sebagai manusia biasa yang memiliki daya tarik tersendiri. Dengan menggunakan metode analisis tafsir tematik untuk menafsir ayat-ayat al-Quran dan metode analisis fenomenologi untuk menganalisis topik yang terkait dengan fenomena sosial yang ada dalam kisah Nabi Yusuf. Penulis mendapatkan konsep perubahan sosial dari kisah Yusuf as atas tiga aspek, yaitu integritas ketokohan yang mantap, konsep perubahan sosial yang jelas dan proses perubahan sosial yang terencana.

Abstract

For moslem hijab is pious symbol and submission to God. Using genealogy approach and Foucaults’s power and knowledge, this paper explains about salafi’s hijab concept and its consequences on women’s life. One of  salafi’s doctrine  is hijab. Salafi women embracing hijab based on salafi’s rule as an ideal shape and type of hijab, although Islam does not establish the specific rules about it. This research reveals that hijab is related to the roles of women in public and domestic area. There are three forms of compliance. First,  covering face with cadar and wearing black dresses are major principle. Second, men and women are forbidden to stay at a one place without covering. Third, staying at home for women is obligatory. At the end, the hijab has became source of domestication on women salafi.  Hijab bagi perempuan di dalam Islam berarti ketundukan pada perintah Tuhan dan dalam taraf tertentu secara sosial menunjukkan kesalehan. Menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan genealogi yang berfokus kepada pelacakan kekuasaan dan pengetahuan yang dikembangkan oleh Foucault. Tulisan ini melakukan pelacakan diskursus hijab pada perempuan salafi dan konsekuensinya. Salah satu ajaran paling utama dalam kelompok salafi adalah hijab. Perempuan salafi melaksanakan interpretasi hijab kelompok salafi sebagai tipe dan bentuk yang ideal meskipun Islam tidak secara spesifik menggambarkannya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa wacana hijab dijalankan perempuan salafi tanpa paksaan sehingga mereka selalu menempatkan dirinya di area domestik dan membatasi dirinya sendiri pada area publik. Ada tiga bentuk efek hijab yang membentuk kepatuhan. Pertama, menutup muka dan berpakaian berwarna gelap adalah sebuah keutamaan. Kedua, ikhtilat adalah haram. Ketiga, berdiam diri di dalam rumah adalah syariat. Diskursus hijab yang dipercayai kebenarannya menjadi sumber domestifikasi perempuan salafi.

Abstract

This article described how to control reproduction and the development of contraception in some case studies: Indonesia, Yunani dan India. The case studies are utilised to illustrate how normative gender roles in the society create stigmatisation of women in involuntary childlessness. They are also used to elaborate how stigma affects women’s construction of identity. The three case studies and other literatures about involuntary childlessness and infertility show how the narrow gendered roles in society affect women negatively.

Abstract

Merapi Lava Tour is a tourist destination to enjoy the natural beauty of Merapi with a jeep. Jeep accidents on Merapi Lava Tour have occurred several times, killing at least two passengers. The purpose of this study is to analyze the unsafe driving behavior of Merapi Lava Tour jeep drivers. The type of the research is qualitative research with purposive sampling technique, involving 9 informants that consist of 4 jeep drivers, the chairman of the association and 4 jeep passengers. The data were collected through interview and observation. The research site was at Merapi Lava Tour area. The result of the research suggests that the drivers’ knowledge about safety driving is good and they also have positive driving attitudes. However, in practice, there are drivers who violated the regulation and committed unsafe behavior while driving. Merapi Lava Tour has been equipped with accident insurance, Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for jeep drivers, but there are also still inadequate facilities, i.e. first aid kit that has not been evenly distributed and training on safety driving that is not available for all drivers yet.Wisata Lava Tour Merapi adalah tujuan wisata untuk menikmati keindahan alam Merapi dengan jeep. Kecelakaan jeep di wisata Lava Tour Merapi telah terjadi beberapa kali, yang menyebabkan setidaknya dua penumpang meninggal dunia. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis perilaku tidak aman pengemudi jeep Lava Tour Merapi. Tipe penelitian ini jenis penelitian kualitatif dengan teknik Purposive sampling, terdiri dari 9 informan yaitu pengemudi jeep, ketua asosiasi jeep, dan penumpang jeep. Metode pengumpulan data dengan wawancara dan observasi. Lokasi penelitian di kawasan Lava Tour Merapi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengetahuan pengemudi sudah baik terkait mengemudi dan bersikap positif tetapi dalam praktiknya ada pengemudi yang melanggar dan berperilaku tidak aman saat mengemudi. Lava Tour Merapi telah dilengkapi asuransi kecelakaan, Standar Operasional Prosedur (SOP) dan Alat Pelindung Diri (APD) untuk mengendarai jeep, tetapi ada fasilitas yang tidak memadai yaitu kotak P3K belum merata dan belum ada pelatihan keselamatan mengemudi jeep.

Abstract

These cities are change by the development scheme compelled by various economic, politic and cultural interests in central and local relations. In the last decades, the dominant condition of physical aspect-oriented development does not change as well. In some aspects, the scale is getting larger and more massive with decentralization interest. The delegated authority in policy framework gives the local government the foundation of accelerating the change through some autonomous scheme, in which the most dominant orientation among all of those attempts is the city transforming with economic-political reasoning. On the other hand, decentralization also gives the citizens the opportunity of being the part of transformation scheme designed by government. Participation Space allows for the involvement in various policies that will be undertaken in collective contestation in public domain.  This article narrates how the urban development scale changes the urban spaces and impacts on the urban ecology, namely river. Narration of river transformation in the last decade is that the river transforms due to many factors and it can be seen from both physical and non-physical transformation. The existing development orientation marginalizes the river and at the same time river assumes the development burden. The crucial point of participation idea is inseparable as well from the relationship between city, river, and citizens staying living in urban kampong daily. The growing response of community is interesting to be studied as the part of understanding the urban physical transformation on the one hand and citizen’s social dynamics on the other hand. Decribing Surakarta and Cities provides the construction of community interest relation complexity and the reinterpretation of river as the part of city. The dynamics of urban kampong in river area can represent the contestation of values, interests and social relations in urban context.  Keyword: City, Kampong, River, Community, Participation

Abstract

Existence of industrialization for Indonesia, as one of the developing countries is the strategy of choice in the model development focused one conomic growth. Industrialization selection model policyh as an impact on the dynamics of industrialization of agriculture in the countryside. One side, it is the growth of the national economy rising sharply, yet on the other hand makes a very striking imbalance, especially in the agricultural sector. Conditions of agricultural industrialization, in this case, the agricultural sector has experienced marginality as a result of state policies that are not in favor of the farmers. As a result, rural industrialization there is no synergy in efforts to empower farmers in the rural economy. These conditions experienced by farmers in the Sitimulyo village Piyungan districts Bantul Yogyakarta. Sitimulyo is one of village at Piyungan sub-distric a part of Bantul regency of Yogyakarta City, which is the area of industrial development. The existence of this policy has any impact either directly or indirectly to the economic empowerment of farmers in the Piyungan District Sitimulyo village. Agricultural landin the village of Sitimulyo coincides with the presence of companies such as PT Perwita Karya, CV. Aneka Darma, PT. Pengolahan Plastik, PT. Adi Satria Abadi, PT. Don Young, Koperasi Umbul Jaya (Relocation of IKM Aluminum) and Kids Fun.The purpose of the study is to know the impact of industrialization on the economic empowerment of rural farmers in the village and to know Sitimulyo empowerment efforts undertaken by the village government and farmer groups that are economically powerless in the midst of the crush ofindustrialization. The theory used in this study is industrialization theory and empowerment. The research method used is a qualitative research method. Methods of data collection are done through observation and in-depth interviews. Data analysis was conducted by reviewing all data from various sources. Having read, studied and analyzed the next step is to conduct data reduction and interpretation of data. The research results are as follows: rural industrialization affects the economic empowerment of farmers in the village Sitimulyo, either directly or indirectly, either positive or negative impact. Positive impact is the local labor absorption. The negative impact is water short ages for most farmers irrigate their field sand the presence of was teand pollution.This condition affects the quantity and quality aspects of plant productivity that affect farmers’ income. Farmers’ income simply to meet subsistence needs. Empowerment efforts is undertaken by the village government and Sidomakmur farmer group in the Sitimulyo village through capacity building (through the field school for farmers in the Sitimulyo village), facilitation of networks (network) and assistance (seeds, agricultural tools).

Abstract

This paper presents the way in which Kuntowijoyo searches for an epestimological formulation and critical thinking from Marxits to Islamic tendencies. This effort fills the gap left by some Indonesian readers of Kuntowijoyo’s works who only highlight his Islamic ideas in literature, culture, history, and sociology from which Kuntowijoyo unleashes the idea of prophetic paradigmn to differentiate his thought from secular Western mode of thinking.  This paper also compares Kuntowijoyo’s text to the performance dangdut music of Rhoma Irama to discover the tone and rhytm of polyphone, by which I mean complexity of the text in combining Western and Eastern thoughts. This writing sheds light on the polyphonic tone of Kuntowijoyo’s text and the shifting paradigm of his thought from Marxist to Islamic tendencies.Tulisan ini membahas pergulatan pemikiran Kuntowijoyo dari aliran Marxist menuju arah Islamis. Dalam tulisan ini menyoroti para pembahas di Indonesia yang sering menekankan gagasan islami Kuntowijoyo dalam sastra, budaya, pemikiran sejarah dan sosiologi, terutama gagasan tentang profetiknya dalam bidang-bidang tersebut. Tulisan ini sekaligus membandingkan teks polifonik Kuntowijoyo yang meramu tradisi Marxisme Barat dengan musik dangdut Rhoma Irama sebagai tolak ukur nada dan irama polifonik. Baik musik dangdut ataupun teks Kuntowijoyo menghadirkan berbagai unsur perpaduan Barat dan Timur dan sekaligus mengarah pada pencarian identitas keislaman Kuntowijoyo dan Rhoma Irama. Tulisan ini sekaligus memberi sumbangan baru pada pembacaan teks polifonik dan pergeseran gagasan Kuntowijoyo dari Marxist ke Islami yang tidak mendapatkan porsi cukup dari para pembahas di Indonesia.

Ali Syari’ati is muslim brilliant philosopher, graduated from doctoral of Sorbonne France. He created social teology perspective, based from his experience in west sociology perspective about Capitalism or Marxism. He succeed seek the Capitalism and Marxism weaknes if this perspective is used in Muslim Society. He mapping structure of society, insist of: Habil and Qobail. Habil is common people in society, Qabil is high class, likes: prince, aristocrats or capital owner. Qabil was repressedHabil trough social, politic, economy and religious system. This tragedy happen in Iran whenSyah Reza rezim. The consequences, Ali Syari’ati propagandist rebellion Habil to Qabil. Because of his activities, he to be prisoner one more time, then he is going abroad, until he pass away in England (with suspicious that he killed by Syah Reza people). The Iran Revolution happen, after 2 years Ali Syaria’ti pass away
