Abstract

The uncertainty of the existing environment will complicate managers in making of theplanning and exercise controlling on of the company's operations. Information was one of thepotential companies that have to received the attention of managers, because in addition to theoperation of information companies can also function as a tool to identification the relevantactivities of the company. Besides environmental uncertainty, information needs of a manageralso influenced by personality factors that of indicated with the locus of control. The problem inthis study is the locus of control the influence relationship of environmental uncertainty on thecharacteristics of management accounting systems information. Population in this researchmanager of manufacturing companies in Surakarta city and the sample of 76 respondents,meanwhile for the data analysis used Structural Equation Models. The use of model equationswith an application program "Partial Least Squares (PLS).The finding also indicated that thelocus of control not significant the relationship between of environmental uncertainty on thecharacteristics of management accounting systems broad scope, timelines and aggregation,meanwhile the locus of control significant the uncertainty of the environment on thecharacteristics of accounting integration systems. Information integration the showing that thereis coordination between the segments of one subunit with another. The complexities and relevancywith each other subunits will be reflected in the integrated. Abstract

Small medium enterprises performance was determined by some factors such asproduction efficiency, marketing strategy, or financial adequacy. But, there is one factor which isimportant for SMEs performance, the enterpreneur itself specially its characteristics. This studyexamined the effects of individual personality, self-efficacy, and locus of control on small mediumenterprises performance in Banyumas. This study used the big five personality approach tomeasure individual characteristics which consists of openness to experience, conscientiousness,extrovertion, agreeableness, and neuroticism (OCEAN). This research used subjective perceptionto measure SMEs performance. This study used survey research design and respondents wereSMEs entrepreneurs located in Banyumas (N = 105). Result of the multiple regression analysisshowed that agreeableness and self-efficacy had a significant and positive effects on SMEsperformance. On the contrary, neuroticism had a significant and negative effect on self-efficacy.Other individual personalities (openness to experience, conscientiousness, and neuritcism) andlocus of control had no significant effect on SMEs performance. Abstract

Retail Business Management with a franchise system as a primary method of entering themarket has been chosen. Control of retail network of franchise become a very important. Thepurpose of this paper is to examine the Social Exchange Theory-Agency Theory and PowerTheory, implemented in cooperation relationships between the manager of a franchise business.This study examines the empirical findings from various studies about the franchise, especially onhow an organization controls the other organizations to follow what has been required under atreaty. The results of this study found that there are different patterns of business controlsimplemented by the managers of the franchise, namely: through the Contract franchise, supportmechanisms, the selection of franchise partners, the pattern of the franchise relationship and theuse of parent-area franchise system. This pattern was found as the main method used by theowners of retail businesses to control the franchise business network. Meanwhile, a source ofCoercive Power and Non-Coercive Power appears in the form of franchise contracts andfranchise relations of the dominant mechanism used by franchise businesses. However, it isrecommended to develop a pattern of relationships that use pattern-based inter-organizationalrelationships on the Relationship Power and Organizational Power.Keywords: franchise, power, control, coercive power, outcome

Abstract

Issues of human resources are still in the spotlight for an organization to still live in the eraof 21st century. The objectives the conceptual paper is explaining social capital profile. WorldBank, 2003, social capital is defined as institutions, social relations, networks, honesty,establishment of norms of quality and quantity of social interaction with the community. Akdere,2005 made in three forms of social capital, are; macro level, messo and micro levels level. Socialcapital at the macro level is measures of social capital which is used on a wider scope. At thislevel include the use of social capital, such as government, civil enforcement of legal certainty,Social capital at the messo level is described as a structural perspective in which social networkcapital and resources are structured to flow along the network. The micro-level social capitalemphasizes the individual's ability to mobilize resources through a local network institutions suchas social organization based on kinship. Abstract

This research examined the influence of career system dimentions on company performanceand organization structure as moderation variable. Career system dimentions consisting of; 1)career clarity & development, 2) promotion & reward system, and 3) job security. This researchtested to company managers in central Java. Five hundred questionnaires were distributed, 219questionnaires returned and 214 questionnaires were included in the analyses. Multipleregressions was used to examined the effect career system dimentions on performance. Next step,the researcher examined moderating effect of structure on the effects of career system onperformance. The result of multiple regressions indicated that career clarity & development,promotion & reward system have positive and significant effect on performance. In addition, therole of organization structure as moderating variable was supported.Keywords: organization performance, career clarity & development, promotion & reward system,job security and organization structure.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the influence of factor of technology, service quality,andcustomer focus of the customer satisfaction on the Bandeng Juwana Elrina Group Semarang. Andthis research also aims to analyze the most dominant factors that influence on customersatisfaction on the Bandeng Juwana Elrina Group Semarang. The population used in this study isconsumers who ever or frequently come on the Bandeng Juwana Elrina Group Semarang. Thesample in this study are 80 respondents and the techniques used are non-probability samplingtechnique with the approach of accidental sampling (sampling based on chance). From theanalysis result, the indicators in this study are valid and valid variables. And the most dominantfactor that influence on customer satisfaction are factor of technology variables, then the servicequality variable), and the last is the customer focus variable. The dependent variables in this studyare good enough in explaining the independent variable (customer satisfaction). Writer’s advice isBandeng Juwana Elrina Group Semarang need to preserve the good things that have beenassessed by consumers and repair the things that not good enough in consumers sight.Key Words: factor of technology, service quality, customer focus, customer satisfaction

Abstract

Turnover intentions in hospitality industry is a signal of the employee turnover in theindustry. The company shall give a serious attention because a high turnover within a companycan interrupt activities and productivities. Beside, turnover can also create instability anduncertainty of employee condition. According to the above, the researcher argues that it isnecessary to have a further examination about the relationship between job satisfaction andorganizational commitment, and turnover intentions in the hospitality industry. The deep theoryanalysis of variables affecting turnover intentions brings the researcher to develop a researchmodel consisting of three variables which are job satisfaction, organizational commitment, andturnover intentions as well as three research hypotheses. Data of job satisfaction, organizationalcommitment and turnover intentions is obtained through interviews using questionnaires to 142respondents who are employees of the Novotel Hotel. Then, data is analyzed using StructuralEquation Modeling (SEM) Technique of Analysis. The result of the three research hypotheses testusing SEM shows that job satisfaction has a positive and significant effect on organizationalcommitment, organizational commitment has a positive and significant effect on turnoverintentions, and job satisfaction statistically proven that it does not have any significant effect onturnover intentions. Based on that results, therefore the research questions are solved. Thatturnover intentions is affected by organizational commitment. Therefore, in order to push theturnover intentions in a low number, the management need to take efforts to improve theorganizational commitment of the employees.Key Words: job satisfaction, organizational commitment, turnover intention

Abstract

Current problem that often take place in the public sector is on how to improve employeeperformance. Employee performance will not be far from the three variables that examined in thisstudy such as leadership style, work motivation and job satisfaction. Research conducted at theRegional Office Bengkulu Province. The purpose of this current research is to examine the effectof leadership style on work motivation and job satisfaction. In addition, the research aims to knowthe role of work motivation in mediating the relationship between leadership style and jobsatisfaction. Mediated Regression Analysis (MRA) applied to answer the research problems. Inthe first step data analysis, the effect of leadership style on work motivation was tested, followedby testing of the effect of leadership style on job satisfaction at the next step. The effect of workmotivation on job satisfaction was also tested, followed by test the role of work motivation as themediating variable as well. Result concluded that each independent variable has significant effecton dependent variable. Furthermore, result also proved that motivation served as a mediating rolein affecting the relationship between leadership style and job satisfaction. Based on researchresults, efforts to increase job satisfaction through leadership style cannot ignore the motivationalaspect of work. The results are also implied that efforts to achieve employee satisfaction shouldconsider the elements that can improve employee motivation, to increase the performance.Key Words: Work Motivation; Leadership Style; Job Satisfaction

Abstract

Non-cash payments have been increasing significantly, followed by its substitution andefficiency effects. Cash payment is substituted, inducing a decrease of cash holding by economicagents, while on the other hand more money enters the banking system. The increase of non-cashpayments also cuts transaction costs, and the economy runs more efficiently. Using Vector ErrorCorrection Model (VECM), its impacts on the economy are investigated. The result shows thatcash holdings decrease, while money stock M1 and M2 increase. The increase of non-cashpayments also induces GDP growth and slight price decrease.Keywords: non-cash, payment system, money demand, JEL: E42, E52

Abstract

Local autonomy and implementation of fiscal decentralization are expected to improveequality of local developments, in accordance with the motivation of local governments to developtheir region based on their specific potentiality. However, some researches indicate that althoughdecentralization has been implemented in Indonesia for almost a decade, the regions still stronglydepend on the central government financially. This research examine regionally original income,gross regional domestic product, transfer fund, and population, to local government spending inregencies/municipalities in West Java Province. The important findings of this research indicatethat gross regional domestic product, transfer fund, and population positive influence to localgovernment spending in regencies/municipalities in West Java Province.Key Words: regionally original income, gross regional domestic product, transfer fund,population, and local government spending
