Abstract

The present issue in history education is the insufficient utilization of instructional media that could effectively serve as tools for teachers to convey materials to students. Consequently, history lessons in the classroom tend to lack engagement and become monotonous. A viable solution is to implement instructional media that align with the potential and learning characteristics of students at MA Aswaja Ngunut. The required form of instructional media is historical videos based on Sparkol Videoscribe, with a focus on prehistoric site content in Tulungagung. This research and development initiative aims to ascertain the effectiveness of historical video instructional media based on Sparkol Videoscribe in enhancing students' interest and learning outcomes. This research model adapts the ADDIE development model developed by Robert Maribe Branch. The objective of this research is to create a learning media containing prehistoric site content from Tulungagung and to assess the effectiveness of this media on student interest and learning outcomes. Based on the research outcomes, it can be concluded that historical video instructional media based on Sparkol Videoscribe yields valid, effective, practical, and engaging results, leading to increased student interest and learning outcomes. Students' strong preference for audiovisual media is the primary reason for their heightened interest in this product. Therefore, it can be deduced that the product is effective in boosting student interest and learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the integration of technology in the preparation of prospective teachers for educational management through the curriculum in Ghana. Utilizing a qualitative approach, the study analyzes how technology is embedded in learning and how prospective teachers respond to it in the context of education management. The main focus of this research is on the concept and use of technology in the educational process to enhance the understanding and skills of prospective teachers.  However, the study found that the curriculum policies, structure, and guidelines for pre-service teachers lack a clear vision for effectively integrating technology. Interviews with policymakers indicated their recognition of the importance of technology integration but also revealed the lack of investment hindered its progress. Drawing on the study's findings and existing research, context-specific recommendations are proposed, focusing on promoting innovative technology-based pedagogical models and developing effective leadership. The study involved participants from a teacher preparation program in Ghana, with data collection conducted through in-depth interviews, classroom observations, and curriculum document analysis. Data were analyzed using an inductive approach to identify common patterns in technology integration and prospective teachers' responses to it. The results of this study are expected to provide insights into the extent to which technology is integrated in the teacher preparation curriculum in Ghana, as well as its impact on teacher candidates' readiness to manage education. The practical implications of this study can provide recommendations for improving the teacher education curriculum, adapting teaching strategies to technological developments, and increasing the effectiveness of teacher preparation in the digital era. The findings can provide valuable guidance for policy makers, educational institutions and educators to ensure that prospective teachers have the relevant and necessary skills to face future educational demands.

Currently, social media cannot be separated from the lives of Indonesian people due to the needs and developmental characteristics of its generation. Apart from that, social media is also very useful in improving people’s social and economic capabilities where they can gain income and wider knowledge. Through this research, it is hoped that it can contribute to overcoming social media ethical issues because understanding is an important component in forming behavior. The method used in this study is a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. These approaches and methods were chosen in order to be able to describe and describe the actual general state of students’ understanding and experience regarding ethics in social media. Data collection techniques used in this study were interviews, observation, and documentation studies. Meanwhile, the data analysis techniques used are reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions/verifying data. The rese’rch results show that the understanding of social media ethics at Rina Hasanah Vocational School can be said to be sufficient, but still needs to be improved where students rarely think about the ethics of an action before behaving on social media. They understand that social media must take positive and beneficial actions. However, they have not been able to understand and think about the impact if they take unethical actions on social media.

Abstract

Research with the topic of deconstructing industrial revolution 4.0 discourse is become important to provide awareness that except spiritual concepts, absolute truth cannot exist. In the discourse of Industrial Revolution 4.0, we must see the truth as separated fragments. The discourse of the industrial revolution 4.0, is born and forced to become a new regime of truth in society. Knowledge and enthusiasm regarding the discourse of the industrial revolution 4.0 which is disseminated systematically and then manifested into regulations actually curbs people's way of thinking. Therefore, this research aims to examining overlooked meanings, or even presenting a different perspective with critical analysis regarding industrial revolution discourse in education. And also revise the facts behind the belief and enthusiasm for the industrial revolution 4.0 discourse. This research uses a qualitative approach, with a literature study method, so that data is obtained through reviewing various scientific journals related to the research theme. Research findings show 1) industrial revolution 4.0 discourse was formed because the state positioned education as an opportunity for economic activity, which then had to be adapted and lead to children's investment in the future through education, 2) The delegation of quality education to the private sector and the reduced role of the state are caused by neoliberal discourse. Problems then arise when the discourse on industrial revolution 4.0 actually ignores the right to an equitable and prosperous life and further sharpens inequality in society, 3) Each social class has different habits (habitus) to respond to readiness for the industrial revolution 4.0. Starting from media ownership and access to learning, to family cultural factors and the absence of the state in important areas of learning.

In the course of its history, after half a century, in 2000, the Implementation of Islamic Law was implemented in Aceh and confirmed by Qanun No. 9 of 2008 concerning the development of traditional life and customs, which describes actions and habits that have prevailed in society and are used as guidelines for daily life in Acehnese society. In line with these provisions, Samudra University empowers one of the general subjects: the history and culture of Aceh, which must be taken by every student so that they can improve quality and produce professional graduates at Samudra University. The method used is descriptive analysis with a qualitative approach. Researchers collect data through a literature review and analyse it using content or material analysis techniques. Stages of data analysis through data reduction techniques, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. In addition, the development of general subjects such as Acehnese history and culture can be implemented by lecturers independently. The use of course material can be used to introduce the historical heritage, customs, and culture of the Aceh Darussalam Kingdom to the Acehnese generation and students as academics on the Samudra University campus.

Abstract

Civic education serves as a crucial foundation for students' character building, particularly in fostering their understanding of democratic principles. With the advancement of technology, digital literacy has become an essential element that significantly enhances student engagement in democracy. This study aimed to investigate the impact of digital literacy implementation in civic education across three schools in Bandung: SMA Negeri 11, SMA Negeri 22, and SMK Negeri 14. The research involved three civic education teachers, three IT staff, and nine students from these schools as participants. The methodology adopted was qualitative, utilizing data collection techniques such as observations, interviews, and documentation. The findings revealed that integrating digital literacy in civic education at SMA Negeri 11, SMA Negeri 22, and SMK Negeri 14 positively influenced students' participation in democratic activities. However, the results indicated that significant improvements were not achieved across all indicators, particularly in creativity, critical thinking, and collaboration. The study suggests that while digital literacy has the potential to enhance civic education, further efforts are required to optimize its benefits comprehensively. Overall, the research highlights the need for innovative approaches to effectively integrate digital literacy in civic education to foster a more engaged and democratically active student body.
