Abstract

This study aims to analyze the factors affecting student engagement in Microeconomics online classes based on E-Learning Engagement Design (ELED). This study applied a mixed method with a sequential model. The study population included all students of the Department of Economics Education UNNES who took online courses in Microeconomics and Microeconomics 1, both regular and international classes, with a total of 320 students and 4 lecturers handled the classes. The results showed that situational interest, personal significance, mastery of self-talk and mastery of self-talk for performance had a positive effect on student engagement in Microeconomics online classes. Meanwhile, mastery of self-talk to avoid negativity, environmental control, independent consequences, and setting proximal goals do not significantly influence student engagement in Microeconomics online classes. The concept of E-Learning Engagement Design (ELED) has been applied to all components. However, it is necessary to standardize the learning environment components to make sure there is no gap among Microeconomics classes which leads to less optimal academic services.

Abstract

This study attempts to conduct an analysis of Merdeka Belajar -  Kampus Merdeka's policy on how does it affect the sustainability of accounting education in Indonesia. A Semi-systematic Descriptive Literature Method analysis was used in this paper to map research areas, synthesize conditions of information, establish the direction for further research, and to classify areas where further research is required. The results of the study show this policy is expected to have better skilled and strong character students. They are expected to have more experience, knowledge, and become more competitive graduates. Despite those advantages, this policy also has potential weaknesses, namely the large number of studies taken might distract the direction of the path of study, this policy does not affect educational-based studies that are geared towards producing teachers, and regularly changing policies by every new minister pays less attention to the sustainability aspects. This paper research implies the policymakers to pay more attention to the sustainability of accounting education by considering the required aspects.

Abstract

This study examined the three dimensions that should exist in a learning community, namely Student Cohesiveness, Integration, and Task Orientation, related to their influence on attitude toward computer-based statistics. Attitude toward computer-based statistics itself is measured using constructs of the revised Technology Acceptance Model (TAM). This study was designed to justify the value of information systems (IS) in overcoming accounting students' statistical problems. The use of IS probable to reduce the pressure in dealing with statistics so that there is an opportunity to increase accounting students' competitive advantage. The respondents consisted of 105 undergraduate accounting students. The data was collected using a 5-scale Likert questionnaire then analyzed using Structural Equational Modelling (SEM). With purposive sampling, this study was collected 105 responses obtained from private and state universities. The results indicate that task orientation is the key indicator of the learning community, affecting attitude toward computer-based statistics. Meanwhile, the second-order factors show that all three predictors were essential in explaining attitude toward computer-based statistics and significantly impacted Reuse Intention. This study also suggests implementing an informal learning community to build learning dynamics that are more independent but still controllable so that the learning topic is integrated with certain subjects.
