Abstract

However, there are stages or considerations such as medical tests not yet included in the selection stage. In general, these stages have a different order but the meaning and content of the selection stages are the same. Referring to Simamora's theory, there is a selection stage for the Bina Insan Taqwa foundation that has not been carried out, namely a physical examination or medical test. Abstract

Buddhism teaches four spiritual attitudes known as Brahma-Vihara: loving-kindness, compassion, empathetic joy, and equanimity. Applied in daily life, these attitudes can help teenagers develop good character traits such as empathy, tolerance, cooperation, and wisdom. This study aims to develop an instrument for measuring Brahma-Vihara attitudes among Buddhist adolescents in Tangerang Regency. The study used the Research and Development method with five stages of instrument development: literature study, instrument preparation, validation by experts, attitude assessment trial, and language instrument testing. A sample of 120 respondents was selected using purposive sampling technique, and the collected data were analyzed using confirmatory factor analysis and Cronbach's alpha reliability test. The results showed that the Brahma-Vihara attitude measurement instrument for adolescents in Tangerang Regency is valid and reliable for use in certain subjects. The instrument consists of 75 items with a five-point Likert scale and is divided into four dimensions of Brahma-Vihara attitudes, namely metta (loving-kindness), karuna (compassion), mudita (sympathetic joy), and upekkha (equanimity). This instrument can help facilitate Buddhists in understanding the noble qualities of Dhamma and provide benefits to the education world in developing attitude assessment instruments in certain subjects.

Abstract

The development in the 21st century brings changes in the education field. Universities, in this case, must also be able to produce graduates who are expected to be able to answer future challenges and be globally competitive. One way to succeed in 21st-century competencies and accommodate digital native learners is to integrate digital literacy and take advantage of assignments in the Universitas Terbuka e-learning. The questions on e-learning assignments should also raise students' critical thinking and creative thinking skills. However, do the existing tutorial assignments lead to higher order thinking skills (HOTS) or are they still at the level of lower thinking skills? This study aims to analyze tutorial assignments in UT e-learning to improve 21st-century competencies (critical thinking skills and creative thinking skills) among UT students, especially Educational Technology Study Program in the Faculty of Teacher Training and Educational Sciences. The research was conducted using a mixed method, qualitative and quantitative research approach. Data was collected by using the document analysis technique which was then processed and analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively. After doing the analysis, the research results show that the tutorial assignments have yet to lead to the higher order thinking skills (HOTS). This result leads to the recommendation that the learning experience should become ownership for the students so that students could be more attached and eager to learn and do the assignments.
