Abstract

This study aims to improve student learning outcomes using the Problem Based Learning model. This study uses a collaborative classroom action research model of Kemmis and Mc Taggart. The research subjects were the second-semester students of Class A Universitas Sarjanawiyata Tamansiswa consisting of 44 people. Data collection uses interview, observation, test, and documentation techniques as supporting data. Quantitative data were analyzed using descriptive statistics by looking for the mean. Qualitative data were analyzed using qualitative descriptive.The learning process to improve student learning outcomes uses the Problem Based Learning model. The results showed that the use of this model in learning can improve student learning processes, especially learning outcomes. This is evidenced by the increase in learning outcomes which in the first cycle reached the classical percentage of 56.8% to 88.6% in the second cycle.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the process of forming children's character through the role of the teacher at the Buddhist Sunday School at Vipassana Kusalacitta Bekasi Temple. A qualitative descriptive approach was used in this study to gain a deep understanding of the experiences and perceptions of teachers and the learning processes involved. Character education has an important role in shaping and developing children's character in facing the challenges of the changing times. Teachers have a central role in creating an interesting learning environment, building good relationships with children, and using appropriate learning methods. In the context of Buddhist Sunday School or non-formal education, interesting learning is key in developing children's character. Methods such as stories, games, group discussions, and creative activities can be used by teachers to help children understand the concepts of characters that are taught in a fun and memorable way. This research is expected to provide insight to teachers in Buddhist Sunday Schools about effective ways to shape children's character and also provide recommendations for learning strategies in character education in Buddhist Sunday Schools or other non-formal education. With the joint efforts of teachers and appropriate learning methods, it is hoped that character education can be properly integrated into the education system to produce a generation that has integrity, cares for the environment, and is able to maintain peace and order in everyday life.

Abstract

Technology is developing more rapidly, so competencies are needed following the demands of today's times so that human resources can produce more effective performance by utilizing technological advances. The purpose of this study is to analyses the relationship between job training and employee work competence, the relationship between work competence and employee performance in the company, the direct relationship between job training and employee performance, and analyses the indirect relationship between job training and employee performance through work competence in employees of manufacturing companies in Semarang City. The research was conducted using a quantitative approach with an ex-post facto method. The study population is employees of manufacturing companies in Semarang City who attended job training according to their field of expertise in the last year. The results showed that job training has a significant relationship with work competence. (2) Work competence has a significant relationship with employee performance. (3) Job training has a significant direct relationship with employee performance. (4) Job training does not have a significant relationship with employee performance through work competencies. The research concluded that job training with work competence through work competence is positive but insignificant. In contrast, the relationship between job training with employee performance is directly significant. This research provides benefits, especially for organizations or companies, in making decisions related to human resource development through training programs to improve employee work competence and performance.

Abstract

Abstract____________________________________________________________The purpose of this study is to examine the concept of the teacher in Ki Hajar Dewantara's thinking and its relevance to Buddhism, driven by the prevalent occurrences of immoral behavior among educators. This research adopts a literature review methodology, utilizing a content analysis approach. The data sources for this study consist of both primary and secondary sources. Primary sources include the works of Ki Hajar Dewantara and the Buddhist scriptures (Tipitaka). Secondary sources encompass writings about Ki Hajar Dewantara and studies related to education in Buddhism. The data collection process involves employing library research techniques. The collected data is subjected to qualitative analysis, specifically an inductive approach, which involves drawing insights and patterns from the data to address the research problem at hand. According to Ki Hajar Dewantara, the concept of the teacher is highly relevant to Buddhism. It emphasizes the notion of teachers as role models who possess not only knowledge and skills but also high moral standards and wisdom. Ki Hajar Dewantara highlights the significance of teachers as exemplars, capable of inspiring and guiding students through their own conduct and actions. In line with Buddhist teachings, a teacher should embody the qualities they seek to instill in their students. This includes not only intellectual capabilities but also ethical conduct, virtues, and wisdom. The alignment between Ki Hajar Dewantara's concept of the teacher and Buddhism reinforces the need for educators to uphold moral values and personal development. It addresses the issue of immoral behavior among educators by emphasizing the importance of teachers as individuals who possess a holistic set of abilities encompassing knowledge, skills, morality, and wisdom. By examining primary and secondary sources, this study provides a comprehensive understanding of the concept of the teacher in Ki Hajar Dewantara's thinking and its relevance to Buddhism. The findings of this research contribute to the discourse on education, ethics, and the role of teachers in society, highlighting the importance of cultivating not only intellectual growth but also moral character and wisdom in educational settings.

Abstract

Character education is not just educating about what is good and what is not good, but also to get used to all the good things that they can apply in their daily lives and can implement them consciously. This study aims to describe the teacher's strategy in the formation of student character in Elementary School 25 City of Ternate in implementing the teacher's strategy in forming the character of student discipline in Public Elementary School 25 City of Ternate. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. Data collection techniques with interviews, observation, and documentation. test the validity of the data by triangulation of sources and techniques. The data in the analysis of the results of this study are: (1) teacher's strategy in the formation of students' disciplinary character. Character education is to develop the potential of students to become human beings who have faith and are devoted to God Almighty, have noble character, are healthy, knowledgeable, capable, creative, independent. The teacher is a figure whose every move is modeled by his students. Abstract

Marital satisfaction holds paramount importance for postgraduate students, given the profound impact of higher education on emotional well-being. This study investigated emotional-focused skills as determinants of marital satisfaction among postgraduate students at Al-Hikmah University, Ilorin, Nigeria. A descriptive research design of correlation type was used. The population of the study was 1,193 postgraduate students of Al-Hikmah University, Ilorin. The sample was 300 postgraduate students from the Faculty of Education, Al-Hikmah University, Ilorin-Nigeria using the Slovin sample size determination formula. Emotional Focus Skills Questionnaire (EFSQ) and Marital Satisfaction Scale (MSS) duly validated by the owners with the reliability coefficient at Cronbach Alpha of 0.93 and 0.82 were used for the study. Pearson Product Moment Correlation (PPMC) at 0.05 level of significance. Results showed that emotional awareness has a positive relationship with marital satisfaction among postgraduate students at Al-Hikmah University, Ilorin-Nigeria. The study also indicates that emotional regulation has a positive relationship with marital satisfaction among postgraduate students at Al-Hikmah University, Ilorin-Nigeria. The study showed that emotional intelligence has a positive relationship with marital satisfaction among postgraduate students at Al-Hikmah University, Ilorin-Nigeria. The study concludes among others that emotional awareness has a positive relationship with marital satisfaction among postgraduate students at Al-Hikmah University, Ilorin, Nigeria. Based on the conclusion, the study recommends among things that postgraduate schools should hire a professional marriage counsellor to assist postgraduate students with marital challenges; school counsellors should employ the use of emotional-focused counselling skills to help improve awareness and regulate negative emotions to sustain marital satisfaction. This research contributes to the existing literature by specifically examining the relationship between emotional-focused skills and marital satisfaction among postgraduate students, filling a gap in current academic discourse

Abstract

Each organization presents how its members live. This research aims to find out and understand organizational culture in the implementation of the Independent Curriculum, what factors shape organizational culture, strategies for implementing independent curriculum planning based on school culture. This research uses a qualitative research method, a case study approach. Data collection techniques in this research are in three ways, namely observation, interviews and documents. Data validity techniques include extension techniques, persistence in in-depth observation, 3 types of triangulation, and conducting member checks. Data analysis techniques using data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing/verification conclusions. Based on the results of this research, organizational culture at Nasima Junior High School, Semarang, based on Hofstede, consists of six dimensions of organizational culture, namely Power Distance, Group Attachment, Gender Association, Uncertainty Avoidance, Time Orientation, and Indulgence. The influence of organizational culture in implementing the Independent Curriculum at Nasima Junior High School, Semarang is that organizational culture can encourage an open attitude towards change on supporting the implementation of the Independent Curriculum, commitment to active and creative learning, appreciation for Creativity and Innovation., Factors that shape organizational culture at Nasima Junior High School Semarang can vary and be influenced by various elements. There are several strategies in planning the implementation of the independent curriculum at Nasima Junior High School. This strategy begins with adapting school culture.

Abstract

The more diverse types of communities in society show the high interest in adult learning in awareness of lifelong education. A religious community named Thoriqoh Qodiriyah wa Naqsyabandiyyah as a unifying medium for the interests and goals of studying religion and a medium for self-development. The thoriqoh activity was held at the Jami' Imaduddin Pondok Pesantren Tarbiaytul Ulum, Sumursongo, Magetan which was attended by congregations from various groups of people with diverse educational, economic, social and cultural backgrounds. This study aims to analyze the andragogical perspective on thoriqoh qodiriyah wa naqsyabandiyyah activities as an effort to foster spirituality. This type of research is qualitative with a phenomenological approach that focuses on exploring the personal experiences of the congregation with one another. The sampling technique uses purposive sampling and data validity techniques use source triangulation. The results of this study indicate that thoriqoh activities fulfill the principles of adult education, in which there are characteristics of adult learning inherent in them. People who are members of this activity voluntarily and with determination to practice the teachings as a result of spiritual development.

Abstract

This research adds to the understanding of skill development in cosmetology education, particularly in a university setting. It highlights the importance of practical, hands-on training and the need for continuous practice to refine and perfect basic cosmetology skills. This study aims to determine the ability to practice basic hair cutting among Medan State University Cosmetology Education students. This research is descriptive. The research population was 30 students. The type of research instrument used was an observation sheet regarding basic hair-cutting practice skills. Observations were carried out by 3 observers who are experts in their fields. The indicator of accuracy in the preparation of tools and work equipment obtained 73% in the good category. The indicator of accuracy in using hair scissors received 60% in the adequate category. The accuracy indicator makes the trimming pattern line get 43.3% in the sufficient category. The indicator for pruning parts obtained 63.3% in the good category. The indicator taking the pruning section obtained 60% in the sufficient category. The pruning result indicator obtained 53.3% in the sufficient category. The timeliness indicator obtained 66.7% in the good category. From the results of observations of basic hair trimming for cosmetology education students at Medan State University, it can be concluded that the average basic hair trimming ability is 60% in the sufficient category. Therefore, it is hoped that students will practice cutting hair more often so that they have good skills and abilities in basic trimming. This study uniquely focuses on the basic hair-cutting skills of Cosmetology Education students at Medan State University, employing detailed assessment indicators and expert observations to provide a comprehensive skill evaluation. Its findings offer novel insights into the effectiveness of practical training in cosmetology education, highlighting areas for improvement and future research directions.
