Abstract

Ndhepo is a stone mining activity in illegal sites carried out by the people of Medono Village. This activity is one of the changes in environment utilization. This study proposes to determine the perception of the people of Medono Village with the existence of stone mining activities around their living environment, to find out the meaning of the Medono Village community regarding their living environment, and to obtain the reasons for the community to carry out stone mining activities. The research method of this study was qualitative. Data analysis used an ethnoecological perspective. The results indicate that the natural environment in Medono Village is a fertile area and saves other natural resources, namely natural mineral resources for excavation C in the form of andesite rocks. Before the ndhepo activity, the community used their land for agricultural purposes. However, after realizing that ndhepo could provide a higher income than cultivating agricultural land, some people then turned to mine workers. The Medono Village community interprets the environment as a place to meet the needs of life. However, there are other meanings by most people, especially those related to stone mining activities because they have an impact on the surrounding natural environment. Some citizens actually do not approve of the existence of those mining activities.

Abstract

The growth in the number of BUM Desa (Village-Owned Enterprises) is increasing in line with the issuance of the Village Law. The number of BUM Desa, which currently reaches 47,717 units, should be appreciated. However, in light of its development, it is necessary to observe it from various sides, not only in terms of quantity but also in terms of quality. Therefore, it is essential to study how a conceptual review of the measurement of BUM Desa development. The purpose of this research is to carry out a literature study to determine the conceptual description of the development of BUM Desa. This study uses a non-systematic literature review method by exploring the literature and the results of previous studies related to the development of BUM Desa. The results of the study show that BUM Desa is a business entity that has the characteristics of a social enterprise, commercial institution, and local enterprise that form an integral part of the management of BUM Desa. Measuring the development of BUM Desa needs to consider these three characteristics in compiling its parameters and indicators. Therefore, BUM Desa can be said to be developing if it has succeeded in running social enterprises, commercial enterprises, and local enterprises. There is no standard in measuring the development of BUM Desa that can be used as a reference in general, so there are many different thoughts on the matter. Alternative parameters that need to be considered in measuring the development of BUM Desa include social value, civil society, innovation, financial perspective, customer perspective, business process perspective, growth and learning perspective, local potential and local wisdom.

Abstract

In carrying out economic empowerment, the role of actors as other parties is needed to help the community develops their potential. The role of the actor in Pierre Bourdieu's perspective consists of shared capital with habitus. This study would like to find out the relation between the success role of actors and the provision of economic, social, and cultural capital along with changes in habitus. This research was conducted in Slumut, Kumpulrejo Village, Salatiga. This location has two main potentials, namely milk and cattle fodder/concentrate feeds processing. The actors involved in economic empowerment in Slumut, Kumpulrejo Village, were the Department of Agriculture and Livestock from the government sector and the NGO Idea from the non-government sector. The two of them assist the Farmers Group of Margoraharjo 4. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with observation techniques, in-depth interviews, and document review. The results of this study indicate that although the actors have provided capital assistance, the community's habitus is difficult to change. Raising cattle is a hereditary job that forms habitus. They are content with what is now. People do not have enough effort to reach new markets and make variations in dairy products, which means they must have a new habitus. This makes it difficult for the government to support the development of milk and cattle fodder/concentrate feed processing businesses. The results of this study indicate that it is difficult for the community to change its habitus.

Abstract

Rawa Pening has been famously known as a potential tourism site seen from its multiple natural and artificial attractions. During the Covid-19 pandemic, the numbers of visitors coming to the Asinan Village Ecotourism can even be said to be stable. This study aims to reveal the visitors' characteristics, the impact of Covid-19 on the MSMEs actors' economy, and the strategy of the Asinan Village Ecotourism in Rawa Pening. This study was qualitative descriptive. Respondents taken were visitors and MSMEs actors in the Asinan Village Ecotourism. The results indicate that the Covid-19 impacts the MSMEs actors' economy at the Asinan Village Ecotourism. Even though tourism still stands and comes up better than other sites—especially on weekends, most MSMEs actors find their income decreased. This condition is due to the escalating number of MSMEs actors, while the buying interest on the visitors tends to go lower. The decline can be influenced by changing purchasing power, consumption behavior dynamics, and social distancing as a part of the health protocols implementation.
