Abstract

This paper aimed to establish the development of textbooks written argumentation based reasoning pattern argumentaif. Through R & D study design, this study produced findings that textbooks written arguments used in the current school textbooks covering publications Pusbuk (BSE), a textbook published by the private sector, and textbooks terbita MGMP. The entire book has a structure of the same material, ie understanding (concept), characteristic / criteria, and the steps are written arguments like writing in general, (2) the development of text books written arguments through support ICT based argumentative reasoning patterns in high school students are prepared based on the principle of development, the provisions of the development, and the steps / procedure development. The principle of development used is based on the principle of coherence, relevance, consistency, and adequacy. The provision of development used whether they reference the development, content, organization of material, material development, presentation, and evaluation. In the meantime, the steps in preparing to write argumentative texts based argumentative reasoning patterns include analyzing SK and KD, determine indicators of achievement, identify basic theories used, compiling textbooks, textbook editing, and verification of eligibility, and (3) The development of textbooks written arguments based argumentative reasoning patterns assessed both by teachers and students of high school and fit for use in learning at school.

Abstract

Background of the research is experience in teaching IPBA (Science of Earth and Space) for some years. It shows that most of students’ final test results are not satisfied. It is caused by some factors, such as low student’s motivation, less learning source, featureless and monotonous teaching method (lecturercentred). For solving the problem, discussion is applied in teaching with the teaching material from related virtual research. The objectives are (1) giving experiences to students for doing research by using virtual research, (2) giving ability for writing research result in the form of paper ksmethod are (1) introduction, (2) determining research topic for each group, (3) doing research, (4) discussion, (5) evaluation. The research result shows that students’ understanding about research material presentation is good. It is showed in discussion, questions in discussion is difficult and must be answered by combining one concept and other concepts. The change of giving questions and responds is used well by participants. In every discussion material there are about 12 students give high quality questions and responds. The questions and responds can be answered well by group that presents material.

Abstract

Students as the main external consumer groups should benefit, as well as the perpetrators of the formation process of the added value in the implementation of high-quality academic activities in educational institutions (Salis, 2002). Accordingly, Unnes in preparing the 2010-2014 Strategic Plan has set a vision Become conservation university, international, healthy, superior, and prosperous by 2020. To accomplish this purpose, the entire academic community Semarang State University has the same commitment to always improve the quality of management in providing services to stakeholders, both with regard to academic services, and non-academic. That is why, in order to strengthen the loyalty of stakeholders, especially students, the university should be able to provide optimal service. However, the issue is whether the Semarang State University is able to provide services as expected by stakeholders, so that they feel satisfied with the service received? This study was designed as a research survey explanatory phenomena (explanatory research) and includes research is correlational. The population in this study were all students Unnes which totaled 24,650. The study sample consisted of 400 students from FIP, FBS, Faculty and FT. Data was analyzed using descriptive analysis and Structural Equation Medoling (SEM). The results showed that the tangible, reputation, cooperation and support, reliability, and responsiveness has a positive influence on the quality of service in Unnes. Quality of service in Unnes also affect student satisfaction.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to improve the response of students to the social studies lesson on the last clock marked with students listening to teacher explanations, dare to answer questions, actively working on the task, courage to ask, and dare to express an opinion. Steps to be taken is the action planning and execution. Planning carried out by identifying the various problems that arise in every process pembelajaranr, while the action taken was to conduct recreational learning, active, challenging, effective, and contextual (PRAMEK). Implementation PRAMEK to increase students responses did not walk easily. The cause is still difficult to translate PRAMEK teachers in learning in the classroom, not fully ihlas make changes learning, still think the class is indeed different from other classes, and still trying to find a formula that is more fitting in implementing the learning. Learning from previous experience of the master teacher PRAMEK. In implementing the teacher learning the more comfortable carrying out learning so that students responses have increased in accordance with the purpose of research.

Abstract

SMK Negeri 7 Semarang has 64 classes consist of 9 departments. The transition period of learning system from SMP to SMK creates various students’ adaptation ability. Based on the psychological scales, there were 7 of 36 students (20%) of Class X TKR 1 who had low or less adaptation ability. The objectives of this reaserach are: (1). to know the effectivity of the Cognitive Restructuring Technique in increasing students’ adaptation ability of Class X TKR 1 SMK Negeri 7 Semarang; (2). To know the significancy of the increasing of the students’ adaptation ability through Cognitive Restructuring Technique for students of Class X TKR 1 SMK Negeri 7 Semarang. This is a Guidance Counseling Action Research. The subjects were 10 students of Class TKR 1. Data were collected through observation, psychological scales, and interviews. The quantitative and qualitative data were analized descriptively and comparatively, by comparing the conditions in precycle, cycle 1, and cycle 2. The result showed that (1). based on the observation, the indicator of adaptation and good category of restructuring cognitive in cycle 1 increased 62%, from 15% to 77%, subjects with enough category decreased from 56% to 18%, whereas subjects with less category decreased from 29% in cycle 1 to 5% in cycle 2; (2). based on the measurement of adaptation ability through psychological scales of adaptation, high category of adaptation increased from)% in precycle and cycle 1 to 50% in cycle 2, medium category increased from 30% in precycle to 80% in cycle 1, and decreased to 50% in cycle 2. The decreasing happened because in cycle 2 there were some subjects belonged to the high category. Subjects in less category were 50%, they decreased to 20% in cycle 1 and 0% in cycle 2. Subjects in low category were 20% in precycle, and they decreased to in cycle 1; (3). the average scores of the students’ adaptsation ability increased 26.40% from the early condition to cycle 1.Students’ adaption ability increased 11.65% from cycle 1 to cycle 2 after the imrpovement in cycle 2. Thus, in average, the subjects in this research could increased to 41.12%. Restructuring Cognitive could increase the students’ peer relations and productivity and could decrease students’ dependency, hostility, and withdrawal.

Abstract

Learning achievements of X TKR1 SMK Negeri Semarang 7 is low, especially on science lesson with an average value of the school year repetition scieence lesson 2010/2011 is 60 (before remidial) with the percentage of students who graduated only 44% percent when passing grade of science lesson is 75. This is certainly a concern to researchers as a science teacher because SMK Negeri 7 Semarang having a good reputation well known in Central Java. This is because the characteristics of a class X TKR1 like to play, and the attitude of solidarity of the group must be upheld, even for things that are less good. It certainly is disturbing the learning process. In an effort to overcome these problems a teacher as a researcher, trying to apply the methods of the game in groups, with the hope that the game will make learning a fun atmosphere, as claimed by Taufan Surana (2008:1) that a pleasant atmosphere is a necessary prerequisite to children love to learn. The purpose of this study were (a) To improve science learning outcomes in class X TKR 1 (b) To determine a significant improvement in student learning outcomes. Research subject is X TKR1 SMK N 7 Semarang, which is located in Lima Jl.Simpang Semarang. Research will be conducted in May to June. The analysis performed is descriptive analysis, the credibility test using the method of triangulation of data sources. The results of application of joyful learning model using games guess my word is as follows: (a) a large increase in the average classical is 10.4 (Classical 83.4 average at cycle 1 to 93.9), (b) a large increase in the number of students who qualify for passing gradeis 20% from 77% in cycle 1 to 97% in cycle 2. Teachers are expected to be able to apply the learning model “Joyful learning” in schools so that learning becomes more enjoyable. The school should be supported by improving facilities and pre facilities, in order to create a fun learning atmosphere for students (Joyful Learning).

Abstract

The results of preliminary study showed that chemistry teachers in Kendal didn’t know how to design CAR, has not been able to integrate models, strategies, and approaches of learning to certain topics to design CAR, and find the time management difficult in CAR. Thus, it was needed to train them the basic skills to teach so they will be able to design and conduct a CAR that will give a direct impact on the quality instuction in the classroom. This activity was carried out in two main phases, namely seminar and workshop in stage I and mentoring of CAR preparation in stage II. The results of this activity indicated that CAR preparation training for chemistry teachers in Kendal was be able to improve chemistry teachers’ capability in developing CAR. However, an increase in teachers’ character as a figure, in addition to increasing the professionalism of teachers who simply boils down to the academic side is still needed. In addition, the school and the Education Department needs to provide more facilities for the implementation of CAR in school continue to increase the sustainaible quality of the learning process.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to know how much influence school quality increase management, continuous quality improvement school, school culture, and an Islamic elementary school educationto customer satisfaction. The research population was parents of SDI Al-Azhar 14 Semarang, amounting to 726 people. The sampling technique using proportional random sampling of 200 parents. Captured by structured scales of questionnaires and the data analyzed with simple regression used SPSS programe. The results showed that increase the school quality of management, continuous improvement of school quality, school culture, and an Islamic elementary school education influence customer satisfaction, either partially or together. The findings are as follows: the school quality of management (X ) influenced customer satisfaction (Y) of 68.5%, continuous improvement of school quality (X 1 ) affects customer satisfaction (Y) of 72.0%, school culture (X 3 2 ) influencedcustomer satisfaction (Y) for 70.2%, and an Islamic elementary school education (X ) influenced customer satisfaction (Y) of 72.3%. Meanwhile, the the school quality of management (X 4 ), continuous improvement of school quality (X 2 ), school culture (X ), and an Islamic elementary school education (X 4 3 ) influenced elementary (Y) jointly for 83.3%. The implications for school admissions policy in the preparation of learners and improving the quality of schools and improve services to stakeholders, the school committee (jam`iyyah), so that parents feel satisfied, pleasure, and conveniently send their sons and daughters of SDI Al-Azhar 14 Semarang. 1

Abstract

The study was conducted as a classroom action researchdue to students lack of interest in art and culture subject, especially dancing. This is shown by the students test results which are mostly still below the minimum passing grade criteria.Based on that observations, this research aims to study students’ interest in art appreciation subject, particularly pair-dancing,and their learning outcomes using audio-visual media. The method used in this study is classroom action research method using cycle stages, the first cycle and second cycle used the audio-visual media. The research result shows that there is improvements in student interest in learning the national dance, as evidenced by the attention and enthusiasm of students in the learning process, as well as improvements in their learning outcomes. On the pre cycle the total number of students who scored above 75 were only 42,50%, then it reached 85% by the end of the second cycle. Based on the above research results, the recommendations are : (1) specifically for art and culture teachers, this method can be used in the learning process to improve students interest, particularly in practicing pair-dancing; (2) for teachers in general, they should always improve their knowledge, abilities, skills, and creativity in order to improve the learning process so that the process is meaningful and fun for students; (3) schools should also be able to facilitate the teacher to use instructional media in teaching and learning activities.

Abstract

This is a classroom action research within the context of cooperative learning, which is conducted to investigate how exposition texts are developed through One Stay Three Stray strategy, and how One Stay Three Stray strategy can change students’ positive attitude in writing exposition texts. The study was done towards a class of Genre-based Writing in English Department of Semarang State University. The main goal of this study is to help students improve the way how to communicate their ideas through texts they develop. The problems which the writer deals with to uncover the above phenomena are: (1) How can One Stay Three Stray strategy help students in solving problems dealing with writing and developing their ideas in writing exposition texts? And (2) how does One Stay Three Stray strategy change students’ positive attitude to achieve the goals of the Genre-based Writing Subject, especially in achieving the goal of writing exposition texts? Based on the result of the research, it is found that there is a positive impact on the use of One Stay Three Stray strategy on the teaching and learning process of exposition texts. This can be seen on the result of the evaluation of the process and of the composition produced by students during the research. The students’ writings from the four cycles improve significantly.
