Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the comparison between translation products produced by human translator and machine translator. Comparing the translation produced by human translation, online machine translator, and offline machine translator is the main concern of  the research. The preliminary data taken from an Indonesian popular novel Laskar Pelangi written by Andrea Hirata (2005) and translated into The Rainbow Troops by Angie Kilbane (2009) show how the product of the three translators very often are different from one another.The study on comparing the products of the three tanslators involve the issue of translation procedures which are literal, transference, naturalization, cultural equivalent, functional equivalent, descriptive equivalent, synonymy, through translation, shifts, modulation, recognized translation, translation label, compensation, componential analysis, reduction/expansion, paraphrase, couplets, and notes, addition, glosses. The study also involve the functions of language which consists of expressive function, informative function, and vocative function and in addition, the study also deals with equivalent issue. The issue includes cultural equivalent or Adaptation, functional equivalent, and descriptive equivalent. The findings of this research are google does not recognize a certain Indonesian word but Rekso does. Both Google and Rekso are not capable in maintaining the cultural and functional equivalence of certain words and phrases. The utterances translated by machine translation will be not equivalence.

Abstract

The population of this research is all students in the eleventh grade of SMK Negeri 1 Meranti consist of 5 classes or 170 students. The samples of this research are the students of the eleventh grade consist of 2 classes. The sampling technique used is cluster random sampling. This research method used quasi-experimental design with factors 2 × 2. The instruments used are IPS result test for 32 valid questions of multiple choice with four options and Multiples intelligence questionnaires for 35 questions with 2 options (choice a and b). The technique of data analysis used is two ways ANOVA in significance level of  α = 0.05. The research result shows that: 1) the students’ achievement of IPS  taught by using  NHT learning strategy (average is 81.95) is higher than the students  who are taught by using STAD Learning Strategy (average is  79.10) ; 2) The students achievement who have interpersonal intelligence (average is 84.06) is higher  than the students who have intrapersonal intelligence (average is 77.64); and  3) there is interaction between NHT learning strategy and STAD learning strategy and multiples intelligence (intrapersonal and interpersonal intelligence) towards students’ IPS achievement. Based on the students’ average mark it gives indication that students group who has interpersonal intelligence will be better taught by using NHT learning strategy and the students who have intrapersonal intelligence will be better taught by using STAD learning strategy.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: (1) mengetahui hasil belajar siswa yang diajar dengan strategi pembelajaran advance organizer dan ekspositori. (2) mengetahui bahwa hasil belajar siswa yang memiliki tingkat kemandirian tinggi dan rendah, dan (3) mengetahui interaksi antara strategi pembelajaran dengan tingkat kemandirian dalam mempengaruhi hasil belajar. Hasil analisis data diperoleh; (1) hasil belajar siswa yang diajarkan dengan strategi advance organizer lebih tinggi dari pada strategi ekspositori. (2) Siswa yang memiliki tingkat kemandirian tinggi memperoleh hasil belajar lebih tinggi dari pada siswa dengan kemandirian rendah. dan (3) terdapat interaksi antara strategi pembelajaran dan tingkat kemandirian dalam mempengaruhi belajar IPS Sejarah siswa.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to improve student learning outcomes in subjects with a fashion drawing using Model-Based Learning Portfolio. The research was conducted in SMK Negeri 8 Medan. This research is a class act that is carried out in two cycles. Subjects in this study were students of class XI Clothing 2 amounted to 36 people. Data was collected through tests, observations and questionnaires. Data was analyzed using descriptive analysis. The results of the analysis of the data obtained pre-test as early learning outcomes of students with 38.89% were completed with an average value of 56.79. Data post-test cycle I with an average value of 64.51 with 50% of students who meet the completeness. Meanwhile, the data post-test cycle II with an average value of student learning outcomes 78.81 with 83.33% of students who achieve a minimum completeness criteria (KKM). The data indicate that there is an increase in student learning outcomes of the post-test, the first cycle to post-test cycle II of 33.33%. Observations have shown an increase in the activity of students by 25%. (Cycle I 2,77,% 27.77% whereas the second cycle) with excellent assessment criteria.

Abstract

This study aims to determine whether the use of cooperative learning model bamboo dance can increase interest in studying history subjects. This type of research is "Class Action Research", by using cooperative learning model bamboo dance. This study consisted of two cycles, the first cycle and second cycle respectively - each have 2 meeting. Based on observations made of 30 students there were 24 students (80%) who have an interest in learning about and 6 students (20%) who have a sufficient interest. Then on the first cycle has value - average 44 (55%), while in the second cycle is equal to 69 (87%). The results of the test cycle I to cycle II, a significant increase, thus it can be concluded that by implementing cooperative learning model bamboo dance can increase student interest in the subject of History major subject Karajaan Indonesia Hindu-Buddhist period in class XI SMA 9 Medan Academic Year 2013/2014.PENERAPAN MODEL PEMBELAJARAN KOOPERATIF TIPE TARI BAMBU PADA MATA PELAJARAN SEJARAH

Abstract

This study aims to identify the capacity of teachers to understand the knowledge of disaster, disaster and integrate knowledge mapped into the unit level curriculum, implement SBC that has been compiled into the syllabus and lesson plans, and implement the syllabus and Learning Program Plan into the learning process. The method used was a descriptive qualitative and action research. Subjects were school committee, working group supervisor, the Working Group Principals, Congress Subject Teacher and elementary school students in the city of Banda Aceh research found that teachers do not fully have the capacity of disaster knowledge and socialization of teachers SBC still not understood, there is still wrong in integrating disaster knowledge between syllabus and lesson plans and have not been able to spontaneously reflect on the knowledge of disaster awareness in the learning process.

Abstract

Early age (age 0-6 years) widely seen as the age or the golden years of growth and development of children (the golden age / years). At that age, vital time occurs, namely, the need to touch the beginning of education, appropriate stimulation and sensitive period of growth and development of children. So far the management of early childhood education (ECD) is deemed ineffective. This article explores the idea of decentralized management rather the main purpose of early childhood education early childhood education can be achieved as the positive impact generated and is expected to contribute ideas in the future, especially how to increase community participation in early childhood.

This study aims to explore, empower and harness the potential of teachers and students. The method used is a class act. This research was conducted in TA 2012-2013, with samples in SDN 2 Sanden, Bantul, Yogyakarta Special Region. The target class action is fourth grade and fifth grade. Research priority action to obtain the product range, the process moves cyclically, between action, reflection and further action, always trying to explore the potential hidden in the environment of teachers and students, as well as teachers and students to minimize the problems that arise, to obtain the work produced. The results of this study indicate that the fourth and fifth grade students succeed; (1) making batik uniforms student work itself, (2) during the process of making a change in teacher-student interaction that leads to an interactive relationship, synergistic, and humanist, (3) developing the learning patterns of affective and psychomotor aspects of education that is intensive, and develop parameters qualitative.

Abstract

The quality of a society has a strategic relationship with the world of education, primary school world, because in it there is a genuine effort on education to prepare the next generation of skilled and have the sciences with based on faith and piety to God Almighty in a broad context. Generation question is "golden generation" which is the connotation on future expectations about the presence of generations Indonesia genius and excelled in all fields of science and technology in the year 2045 to build the Homeland be a great nation, strong, and sovereign in the eyes of the world. Poverty appears logical golden generation is conscious and deliberate efforts are made through education and should be guided by the values of Pancasila as an ideology. Indonesian golden generation is the generation of genius, superior and Pancasila.
