Abstract

In order to develop a library recommender system based on Semantic Web technology, it is a must to exploit the use of RDF model database. In this paper we explain our experiences in converting library inforation system’s data from relational database (RDB) into RDF model database. We achieve it by using an open source tool, D2RQ. We test the RDF database by querying the data using SPARQL. The result showing that we can use this tool easily to obtain our objectives.

Abstract

Coconut’s endosperm separation process has  been done manually in the home industry  the process is that coconut fiber separation process by using short sword kind of crowbar, and coconut shell  separation process by using short sword . All of process uses human’s hand ( manual ). By the process, it will containt high accident risk it also needs long time and needs a lot of workers. A worker can reach 30 coconuts/hour in capacity only and there are part of coconut shell stick on coconut’s endosperm although in minimum size. For separation process eficiency rises, needs mechanical separation process. Those by design and build “ Endosperm separating machine “, which can produce clean and fullfill the home industry standart which has small fund. Design and build process starts by knowing force need for slice the coconut and force need for separating endosperm process by shape testing, slicer dimensions and separotor dimensions, machine mechanism, kind of motor, and power to run the process.Endosperm separating machine completed by slicer and motored by electrical motor ½ HP, 1450 rpm by three steps transmition consist of belt, pulley for slicing process and gear box 1 : 40, bevel gear, for separation process. Capacity by using this machine, production capacity can reach 90 coconuts/hour with separation quality is better than manual process. Keywords : coconut, coconut shell, separation, crowbar

Abstract

Waste from orange peel contains pectin that can be utilized as raw material to produce drug delivery system membrane for various types of drugs. Drug loading and release behavior of the membrane can be controlled by adding crosslinker (K2SO4). This research aimed to study the effect of crosslinker composition to the salicylic acid loading as an example of antibiotics. Pectin was dissolved in water, mixed with plasticizers and the variation of K2SO4 solution were 0, 0.1, and 0.2 g / mL at temperature 66°C. The mixture was dried in an oven at temperature 50°C for about 15 hours. The analysis have been done were drug loading, gel sweeling and FTIR. The results show that the more concentration of crosslinker added, the loading of salicylic acid were influenced in range 0.031 – 0.045 g/mL. The parameters estimated by adding K2SO4 crosslinker were gel swelling in range 0,11-0,29 g, whereas FTIR analysis has not significant changein each concentration.

Abstract

The industrial sector drive the economy. One of the sub-sectors that have economic potential is a leather and leather garment industry. But the leather industry conditions generally inefficient. In recent years the leather industry there are obstacles to lack of supply of raw materials, and industrial utilization rate is low. Supply of raw materials depend on import of raw leather, medium leather industry utilization during 2010-2015 an average of 50.13%. The low utilization rate reflects the performance of inefficient operation. Responding to the above problems, the approach to lean manufacturing and supply chain management can be applied to improve the performance of the industry. Lean manufacturing in an effort to minimize the efficiency of industrial activities that are not value-added. For the next lean manufacturing approach integrated into industrial relations by the method of Supply Chain so hopefully improve industrial performance and add value. The study begins with business process mapping methods Integrated Definition for Function Modeling (IDEFØ) to identify business processes factually. From the analysis of the process bisniskemudian mapping value chains and identification of critical processes in the leather industry. Furthermore, in design improvements with Lean manufacturing, refers to the concept of value-stream mapping to identify non-value added activities in industrial systems.

Abstract

The impeller of air plane turbine or electrical generator gas turbine, generally used Ni base content superalloy. For long time turbine operation, oxidation of Ni-alloy could be happened. This research want to know the effect of the high temperature and time duration of turbine operation, especially oxidation of Ni-3Al alloy. In this research the temperature treatment at 1298 and 1498 oK, while time duration 20,25 and 50 hours. The research result shows that NiO Oxid is formed and porous crystall granulars are identified. This porous crystalls are Ni Al2O4. Keywords: Superalloy, Ni-Al, porous crystall, NiO.

Abstract

Elektrostimulator combined in acupunture therapy to provide the stimulation of electric energy at the point of the meridians of the body. Granting the power to create a balance of energy (chi) in the body. In administering the energy must pay attention to the voltage waveform, intensity, frequency and timing of stimuli. The purpose of this research is to change the system tools from analog into digital by changing the settings of the timer and frequency using the keypad that is controlled using the Microcontroller ATMega16. Specifications of the simulation tool elektrostimulator acupunture designed include the frequency setting of 5-100Hz, setting the intensity of a voltage 0 timer setting until 25Vac 60 minutes and has a spike waveform mode continou and electrodes used floating types. The test result show that simulated acupunture elektrostimulator tool result obtained in accordance with the compliance with the specifications but there is little the percentage error of frequency deviation i.e. 0.47% deviation of the timer of 0.29%, intensity of the voltage deviation of 0.073 % and waveform was nearing the same against his theory.

Abstract

Herbs widely circulated in the powder form wrapped in packaging with certain dose. To make it easier to measure the dose, it needs to develop a new design. In a product design, packaging use is as a wrapper and a promotional materials to attract customers. Therefore, the need for designing is accordance with the taste and desires of the customer’s psychological. Kansei Engineering approach is used to translating the customer feelings and impressions into the design parameters. The consumer criteria are identified by paper-based survey and validation test is used to test the hypothesis. Supported by the test, result of this study are able to produce packaging that satisfy the customer’s psychological desires.

Abstract

Teaching and learning activities at an early age children is important to note especially about learning media used. In the learning process often children do not focus on what is being taught by the teacher because there is nothing more exciting than being taught by the teacher. In addition the level of boredom child will be increased when the media is not interesting again. Great Media affect the child's motivation to learn. The use of technology in learning media is expected to increase the learn motivation in early childhood. This research will be built a learning media such as flash card that uses augmented reality technology that is expected to increase the learn motivation of early childhood. The results showed that the use of flash media cards augmented reality can improve learning outcomes in children seen from the responses given by children when study. Sistem flash cards augmented reality can be run properly and children can use them independently.

Abstract

PT. Krakatau Steel merupakan perusahaan yang bergerak dibidang produksi baja. Salah satu unit produksinya yaitu slab steel plant. Continuous casting machine, sebagai salah satu mesin yang terlibat dalam proses produksi slab steel, pada saat beroperasi sering mati mendadak, khususnya pada continuous casting machine 3 yang memiliki breakdown time terlama pada periode 2018, yakni sebesar 18.692 menit. Oleh karena itu, dibutuhkan perbaikan terhadap sistem pemeliharaan continuous casting machine 3. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis efektifitas mesin dan menentukan usulan perbaikannya. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan empat tahap, yaitu menentukan tingkat efektivitas mesin (OEE), menentukan nilai losses yang mempengaruhi rendahnya tingkat efektivitas dan menggunakan diagram pareto untuk mengetahui losses yang paling dominan, mengidentifikasi masalah yang menyebabkan losses dengan menggunakan diagram fishbone, dan memberikan usulan perbaikan. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah didapatkan tingkat efektivitas mesin yang masih dibawah standard world class, yaitu sebesar 52,38%, losses yang paling dominan adalah reduced speed losses dengan rata-rata sebesar 35,24%, masalah-masalah yang ditemukan disebabkan oleh faktor manusia, mesin, dan lingkungan, serta usulan perbaikannya adalah dengan melakukan perbaikan pengalokasian operator pada setiap bagiannya, merevitalisasi mesin, dan melihat dokumen spesifikasi mesin sehingga dapat dilakukan pengecekan mesin secara rutin agar tidak overheat.

Abstract

Enterprises that can be directly executed properly without having to market from the beginning is to buy products or services that have become, namely Franchise. It is the licensing of an overall business format in which the franchisor grants a license to a number of dealers or franchisee to market a product / service and conduct a business developed by franschisor using a name brand, Trademarks, specialist merchandising services and how to do business that the franchisor owns. This data analysis technique is by using quantitative technique with path analysis. Variable there are 6, which consists of Management Ability, Motivation Franchise, Brand Image and Promotion Strategy. These variables are called independent variables. Performance Franchise enter the dependent variable, while Franchise Cooperation entered variable factor. The sample in this research is 120 respondents, with data collection technique through questionnaire with likert scale. The result of this research is that the variable of Management Capability, Franchise Motivation, Brand Image and Promotion Strategy have direct influence to Franchise Cooperation, but have no direct effect on Knelan Franchise.
