Abstract

This research is aimed to obtain the amount of substituting shrimp waste flour for an optimum fish feed. This research was using Complete Random Design with 4 (four) treatments and 3 (three) replications. Treatment A, B, C, and D were giving shrimp waste flour 0%, 12.5%, 25.0%, and 37.5% of fish feed weight respectively. Data collection based on the result of chemical test, organic test and physical test on the fish food. The result of chemical test on fat content and water content approves that treatment D is the best application with 11.15% of fat content and 5.02% of water content. Organism test showed that treatment C (25%) was the best result of fish growth (12.5%) during 21 days of treatment.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to know the effect of dosage of cow manure fertilizer on Setaria production in sandy soil, to know the effect of cutting age on Setaria production in sandy soil and to know interaction of dosage of cow manure fertilizer and cutting age on Setaria production on sandy soil. This research was field experiment using Randomized Block Design with three replications. The treatment design was arranged factorial by two factors, the dose of organic fertilizer of cow manure (P) of three levels of p1 = 10 tons ha-1, p2 = 20 tons ha-1 and p3 = 30 tons ha-1. The second factor is cutting age (U) of three levels, u1 = 30 day cutting age, u2 = 45 days cutting age and u3 = 60 days cutting age. The combination of the two factors resulted in 9 treatment combinations with three replicates as a group to obtain 27 experimental units. The results of this study was the application of cow manure fertilizer independently effect on Setaria production. The cutting age treatment independently affected the plant height, number of tillers and Setaria production. There was no interaction between the application of cow manure fertilizer and cutting age to plant height, number of tillers and Setaria grass production.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the growth of Papuyu fish (Anabas testudineus Bloch) with the provision of purple sweet potato extract as a source of prebiotics of commercial feed. The study used Completely Randomized Design (RAL) consisting of 4 treatments with 3 replicates, namely: Treatment A: feeding with the addition of prebiotics of 1 ml/kg of feed, Treatment B: Feeding with the addition of prebiotics of 2 ml/kg of feed, Treatment C: Feeding with prebiotic addition of 3 ml/kg of feed and D (Control). Parameters observed included relative weight growth, survival rate and water quality. The results showed that purple sweet potato extract did not significantly affect the relative growth of Papuyu fish. The highest growth was in C treatment (272.42%) and the lowest was on treatment D (93.07%). The survival of fish during the study was 100%.

Abstract

The research was conducted to analyzed the growth and abundance of Saluang Fish (Rasbora sp) and to know the relationship between water quality and seluang fish in lake Lutan, Palangka Raya. The research was carried out from july to september 2015. The samples of Saluang fish were collected using gill net. According to the analysis of the relationship between length-weight fish saluang showed the natural growth of saluang fish was allometrik. The fluctuation of water depth influenced water like temperature, muddiness; brightness, degrees of acidity (pH) and dissolved oxygen (DO). The variables of water quality which had significant effect on the dynamics of saluang fish in lake Lutan were water depth and brightness.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to know the effect of egg curing duration on salt egg organoleptic test, to know the influence of salt level to salt egg organoleptic test, and interaction between curing duration and salt amount to organoleptic test of salted egg. This study was conducted using a complete randomized design using two factors, namely the duration of curing time (A) and the level of salt amount (B). Parameters observed included taste, color, smell / aroma, and texture of salted eggs using panelist assessments. The results showed that the organoleptic test of salted egg samples on flavor, color, aroma, and texture had no effect, while the interaction had significant effect.

Abstract

The study aim to determine the effect of mixture level of rice bran, yellow corn and fermented tofu waste on final body weight of domestic poultry age 0-8 weeks. This study using randomized complete design with 4 treatments and 5 replications. The Treatment A = 80 % rice bran + 20 % yellow corn, B = 70 % rice bran + 20 % yellow corn + 10 % fermented tofu waste, C = 60 % rice bran + 20 % yellow corn + 20 % fermented tofu waste and D = 50 % rice bran + 20 % yellow corn + 30 % fermented tofu waste. The result showed that the provision of various level of a mixture not significant effect on final body weight of domestic poultry age 0-8 weeks.

Abstract

Combination supplementation of probiotic Saccharomyces cerevisiae and MOS prebiotic applications on a laboratory scale had been performed and was able to improve survival rate, growth and immune response of Pangasius sp. against multiple pathogens. The purpose of this research was to test the effects of combination probiotic Saccharomyces cerevisiae and MOS prebiotic administration on growth performance of Pangasius sp. reared in ponds (net cages 1x1x1 m3) on field scale. Fish with initial average weight 2-3 g that has been reared for 30 days was reared in fish pond in stocking density of 80 fishes/m2. This research consisted of two treatments with three replications: K treatment (without synbiotic administration) and P treatment (administration of probiotic Saccharomyces cerevisiae and MOS prebiotic for each 0.2%). The results showed that synbiotic administration was able to improve the survival rate, daily growth rate, feed conversion ratio, feed efficiency and weight gain of Pangasius sp. Abstract

This study aims to determine the zinc (Zn) content in Rasau (Pandanus helicopus) and Bakung air (Hanguana malayana) which are the dominant water plants in the Sebangau river. The study was carried out by taking samples of roots and leaves of Rasau and Bakung air in 3 different locations. The Zn content in the sample was measured using the AAS method (Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer. The results showed that the average Zn content of Rasau in roots was 4.40 mg / Kg and in leaves 2.10 mg / Kg. Zn content of Bakung air in roots 95.39 mg / Kg and in leaves 14.44 mg / Kg. Zn metal transfer factor in Rasau 0.467 and in Bakung air 0.152. Bakung air play a role as Zn metal accumulator plants in river waters. Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect utilization of banana stem with a mixture of tofu waste and bran with different compositions on the average weight and number of maggot populations. The study used different media compositions: Treatment A consists of 5 kg of dried banana stems, 3 kg of tofu waste, and 2 kg of bran. Treatment B consists of 5 kg of dried banana stems, 4 kg of tofu waste, and 3 kg of bran. Treatment C consists of 5 kg of dried banana stems, 5 kg of tofu waste, and 4 kg of bran. The results of this study indicate that the use of banana stems mixed with tofu and bran can be a medium for maggot growth. Treatment C showed better results, with the average weight of 173.8 grams and total population of 6.111 maggot than treatment A and treatment B. The statistical test results at the confidence interval of 95 % indicate that different compositions have significantly different effects on the average maggot weight and total maggot population. Abstract

This study aims to used duck meat as a basic ingredient in making nuggets and to discover the effect of adding fillers to the chemical quality and organoleptic value of duck nuggets. This study used a fully randomized design (CRD) with four treatments and five replications, P0 (chicken nugget), P1 (duck nugget with wheat flour), P2 (duck nugget with tapioca flour), and P3 (duck nugget with corn flour). The results of this research showed that duck meat can not substitute fully replace chicken meat as the basic ingredient when making gold nuggets. Chemical quality and level of preference for nuggets with the addition of different fillers have different values. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the quality of the chemical in the best treatment is achieved by the incorporation of wheat flour (P1). While in the results the organoleptic test of the preference on nuggets after chicken nugget was is duck nugget with the addition of tapioca flour (P2) in terms of aroma, texture and taste is given a higher value, although less preferred in terms of color.
