Abstract

This research focuses on development of interactive learning media using the Lumi Education platform based on game-based learning and ethnomathematics on the topic of straight line equations to improve students’ learning interest. The study adopted a research and development approach based on the ADDIE model, which includes the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The developed media integrates game-based learning through a game map feature and ethnomathematics by incorporating cultural contexts into learning activities. The study was conducted with eighth-grade students of SMP Negeri 27 Surakarta. Data were obtained through expert validation sheets, teacher and student response questionnaires, and a learning interest questionnaire. The results of the study indicate that interactive learning media are valid and practical for use in learning activities. In addition, the application of the media effectively increases students' interest in learning. Therefore, interactive learning media based on game-based learning and ethnomathematics using Lumi Education offers an alternative solution to improving students’ learning interest in mathematics, particularly on the topic of straight line equations.

Abstract

Literasi matematika siswa pada tingkat Sekolah Menengah Pertama (SMP) masih menunjukkan kecenderungan yang rendah. Salah satu penyebab utama dari rendahnya kemampuan tersebut adalah penggunaan model pembelajaran yang bersifat monoton dan kurang melibatkan siswa secara aktif dalam proses belajar mengajar. Pendekatan yang cenderung menekan hafalan rumus dan prosedur membuat siswa menjadi pasif, tidak tertarik, dan kesulitan dalam belajar konsep-konsep matematika dengan kehidupan sehari-hari. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan strategi pembelajaran yang inovatif dan menyenangkan untuk meningkatkan keterlibatan siswa sekaligus membangun pemahaman konsep yang lebih bermakna. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji pengaruh penerapan model Joyfull Learning yang didukung oleh media Pull out photo math box berbasis Augmented reality (AR) terhadap literasi matematika siswa SMP. Literasi matematika merupakan kompetensi esensial dalam menghadapi tantangan pembelajaran di era abad ke-21, namun belum berkembang optimal dengan pendekatan pembelajaran tradisional. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan desain pre-eksperimental tipe one group pretest - posttest . Instrumen penelitian berupa tes literasi matematika dan angka respon siswa. Hasil uji statistik menunjukkan adanya pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap peningkatan literasi matematika siswa setelah diterapkannya pembelajaran tersebut. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran interaktif dan menyenangkan berbasis teknologi  dapat menjadi solusi dalam meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran matematika di SMP.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of learning models on students' mathematical problem-solving abilities in terms of their mathematical resilience. The type of this research is quasi-experimental. The population of this study is the 11th-grade students of SMA Negeri 2 Sukoharjo for the 2023/2024 academic year, consisting of 4 11th-grade classes with a focus on Science and Mathematics. The sample used consists of two classes, with 36 students from class XI 2B as the experimental class and 35 students from class XI 1 as the control class, selected through cluster random sampling. Data collection was carried out using tests and questionnaires. The data analysis technique used is a two-way ANOVA with unequal cells, followed by a multiple comparison test using the Scheffé method. The research results show that the mathematical problem-solving ability of students who received the MURDER learning model with Brain Gym is better than that of students who received the MURDER learning model, both in general and at each level of mathematical resilience. Additionally, at each level of mathematical resilience, students show differences in mathematical problem-solving ability, both in general and in each learning model. In the MURDER learning model with Brain Gym, students with moderate mathematical resilience have better mathematical problem-solving ability than those with high and low resilience. Meanwhile, in the MURDER learning model, students with high mathematical resilience have better mathematical problem-solving ability than those with moderate and low resilience.

Abstract

Technology enhances education and addresses students' academic challenges. Excessive use of mobile phones and internet applications may contribute to students' poor academic performance. But, technology can also be an aid in improving learning outcomes. This study aimed to examine the influence of Virtual Manipulative Aided Instruction (VMAI) on Grade 7 students' conceptual understanding in solving fraction-related problems. A one-group experimental research design was employed, involving 55 Grade 7 students from three intact classes in selected national high schools in Lanao del Sur.  Findings revealed significant improvements in conceptual understanding skills. Results further showed that VMAI influenced conceptual understanding in the representation of fractions, conversion of improper fractions to mixed numbers and vice versa, and simplification of equivalent fractions. Overall, the findings suggest that VMAI serves as an effective instructional approach, fostering active engagement, motivation, and enhanced mathematical skills among students. The study underscores the potential of technology-assisted learning to enhance conceptual understanding in mathematics.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dengan tujuan untuk mengeksplorasi efektivitas penggunaan media interaktif Baamboozle yang dikembangkan dengan muatan kearifan lokal dalam meningkatkan kemampuan literasi numerasi peserta didik pada pembelajaran matematika. Pendekatan kuantitatif digunakan dalam penelitian ini melalui desain pre-eksperimental jenis One Group Pretest-Posttest, dengan melibatkan 22 siswa kelas VII di MTs Nurud Dzalam sebagai subjek. Instrumen penelitian berupa tes esai berjumlah 10 butir soal dirancang untuk mengetahi perubahan kemampuan literasi numerasi siswa pasca pelaksanaan pembelajaran. Temuan analisis data menggunakan paired sample t-test menunjukkan nilai signifikansi 0,000 < 0,05, yang mengindikasikan bahwa hasil pretest dan posttest menunjukkan perbedaan yang signifikan. Dengan demikian, media Baamboozle berbasis kearifan lokal terbukti mampu meningkatkan kemampuan numerasi siswa secara efektif. Selain itu, media ini turut memberikan kontribusi positif dalam memupuk motivasi dan minat belajar siswa melalui pendekatan yang kontekstual dan menyenangkan.

Abstract

This study evaluated the effectiveness of the KADIR method (Connection, Application, Discourse, Improvisation, and Reflection) in integrating Islamic values into mathematics education. The KADIR method aimed to enhance conceptual understanding, critical thinking skills, and student motivation by connecting mathematical concepts with Islamic values. Using a qualitative literature-based approach, this study found that the KADIR method effectively improves students' understanding of mathematical concepts and their application in everyday life. Integrating Islamic values through this method also strengthens students' character and morals and increases their motivation to learn. The main challenges in implementing this method included the limitations of resources and support for teachers, as well as the complexity of connecting mathematical concepts with Islamic values. This study provided theoretical and practical contributions to the development of a holistic mathematics learning model. Recommendations for educators included competency development through training, the design of contextual learning, and the implementation of holistic evaluation. These findings were expected to improve the quality of mathematics education and help students develop a more comprehensive and meaningful understanding of the context of Islamic values.

Abstract

This research aims to develop a Problem-Based Learning E-LKPD as a differentiated learning media for Systems of Linear Equations with Three Variables (SPLTV) material for grade X vocational high school, addressing problems of limited teaching materials supporting differentiated learning, dominance of lecture methods, and students' difficulties in understanding SPLTV material. The research employs Research and Development (R&D) method with ADDIE model consisting of analysis, design, development, and implementation stages, involving expert validators (material, media, and language) and 30 students from grade X DKV at SMK Negeri 1 Tanjungpinang. The E-LKPD product was developed using Articulate Storyline 3 with content differentiation based on three learning achievement levels (Code A, B, and C) following Problem-Based Learning syntax. Expert validation was conducted using validation sheets analyzed with Likert scale, yielding results of 93.75% for media expert (very valid), 86.25% for language expert (very valid), and 80% for material expert (valid), with an overall average of 86.67% (very valid category). Practicality testing was conducted using questionnaires distributed to teachers and students, resulting in 88.57% teacher practicality (very practical) and 90% student practicality (very practical), achieving an overall practicality level of 89.28% (very practical category). This E-LKPD product is proven valid and practical to support Problem-Based Learning differentiated learning on SPLTV material, providing flexibility for students to learn according to their learning achievement levels and offering an effective alternative to traditional lecture-based teaching methods

Abstract

Kecemasan matematika (math anxiety) merupakan kondisi dimana seseorang mengalami ketakutan, kekhawatiran dan pikiran negatif berlebihan saat dihadapkan dengan persoalan matematis. Math anxiety ditunjukkan pada perilaku negatif seseorang terhadap matematika, seperti penghindaran, penundaan tugas, dan bahkan kondisi fisik yang menurun selama penghadapan dengan matematika. Menggunakan metode SLR artikel ini dimaksudkan untuk mengetahui pengaruh kemampuan sosial siswa pada tingkat math anxiety mereka. Tulisan ini menggunakan pendekatan alur PRISMA dan mendapatkan sebanyak 33 artikel yang berkaitan dengan kata kunci. Artikel tersebut direview secara manual dan menemukan bahwa keterampilan sosial siswa belum tentu mempengaruhi tingkat math anxiety siswa. Namun, kegiatan tutor sebaya yang tentunya membutuhkan kemampuan sosial yang baik dalam membangun diskusi kelompok, tidak menunjukkan pengaruh terhadap math anxiety siswa.

Abstract

This research was initiated due to the low level of students’ problem solving abilities at SMP Negeri 3 Mertoyudan. Learning was still teacher-centered and the learning media used were not interactive. The purpose of this study is to examine the effectiveness of the Brain Based Learning model assisted by LiveWorksheets based on Realistic Mathematics Education compared to conventional models and to examine the improvement in problem-solving ability after the implementation of the model. The study applied a quantitative approach through a quasi-experimental nonequivalent pretest-posttest control group design. The research subjects were selected using a cluster random sampling techniques, namely class 7B as the control class and class 7D as the experimental class. The data were collected through observation, interviews, tests, and documentation, with instruments such as observation forms, interview guides, and test. Data analysis was conducted using prerequisite tests (normality and homogeneity tests) and hypothesis testing: hypothesis 1 (independent sample t-test) and hypothesis 2 (paired sample t-test and N-Gain). The findings indicated that the Brain Based Learning model assisted by RME-based LiveWorksheets, proved to be more effective than the conventional model () and contributed to the enhancement of students’ problem -solving abilities.

Abstract

Tinjauan pustaka ini menyelidiki pengembangan dan implementasi media pembelajaran matematika inovatif yang dirancang khusus untuk siswa tunanetra, dengan mengatasi tantangan pedagogis yang ditimbulkan oleh sifat visual konsep matematika. Metodologi pengajaran konvensional seringkali terbukti tidak efektif bagi siswa ini, menghambat penguasaan konsep abstrak, visualisasi spasial, dan manipulasi simbolik. Studi ini mensintesis temuan dari enam inisiatif penelitian yang berfokus pada paradigma pedagogi adaptif. Inovasi inti adalah pemanfaatan strategis materi taktil dan multisensori, yang menekankan tekstur, Braille, dan konfigurasi geometris timbul, yang memberdayakan siswa untuk mengeksplorasi dan memanipulasi konstruksi matematika melalui indra peraba mereka. Kemajuan utama meliputi alat bantu 3D untuk geometri ruang, buku Braille untuk bangun datar, manipulatif kayu untuk numerasi awal (misalnya, "Brama"), sistem Braille dan audio terintegrasi (misalnya, "Blind's Playpad"), dan papan koordinat Kartesius taktil (misalnya, PANDIKAR). Kemanjuran sumber daya ini sangat didukung oleh neuroplastisitas, di mana sistem saraf pusat individu dengan gangguan penglihatan mengompensasi defisit sensorik melalui jaringan saraf yang terorganisasi ulang dan pemrosesan yang ditingkatkan melalui sentuhan dan pendengaran. Adaptasi ini menjadikan masukan sensorik multimoda sangat diperlukan untuk konseptualisasi matematika yang mendalam. Akibatnya, instrumen adaptif ini berfungsi sebagai jembatan vital yang mendorong pemahaman konseptual matematika yang mendalam dan mandiri bagi siswa tunanetra.
