The purpose of this study was to increase the students’ motivation and learning outcomes on the material of documents and valuable objects at grade II elementary school in the academic year 2017/2018. The research was conducted by involving 13 children as the obejcts. The type of this research was classroom action research which was carried out in two cycles. In the first cycle, the varied demonstration method was carried out classically and in the second cycle, it was carried out in groups. Each cycle consisted of four stages: planning the action, implementing the action as planned, observing the results of the action, and reflecting on the implementation of the action. The tools for data collection were the document of students’ grade list, observation sheets, and question sheets since the data were collected using documentation, observation, and test. The results showed that the varied demonstration method improved the students’ learning outcomes in social science subject especially on the material of documents and valuable objects at grade II in the academic year 2017/2018. This was proved by an increase with a success rate of 57.80% in cycle I, and 93.33% in cycle II.

This study aimed to determine the effect of character education on students’ learning outcomes on the theme of “Indahnya Kebersamaan" at grade IV SD Negeri 177072 Halado in the academic year 2020/2021. The population of this study was all students of SD Negeri 177072 totaling 295 students. The samples were selected by purposive sampling; in this case, the researcher chose grade IV consisting of 40 students as the samples. A quantitative method, that was a type of survey method was utilized in this study. Then, the hypotheses were examined by t test. The results of this study indicated that the average score of character education was 63.875, which was included in High category, and the score of learning outcomes was 67.24, which was also included in High category. This was supported by the result of t test in which tcount > ttable (9.135 > 1.683); as a result, Ho was accepted. Thus, it can be concluded that there was a significant influence of character education on students’ learning outcomes on the theme of “Indahnya Kebersamaan” at grade IV SD Negeri 177072 Halado in the academic year 2020/2021

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of gender on the students’ learning outcomes in social science subject at grade V SDN 2 Sidorekso Kudus. This study was quantitative research using a comparative research design with descriptive statistical research methods. The population in this study were 36 students at the fifth grade of SDN 2 Sidorekso Kudus. There were 18 male students and 18 female students. The samples were all grade V students who were selected by using nonprobability sampling technique with saturated sampling. The data used in this study were secondary data or existing data that were the score of social science subject taken from the students’ report card. Then, the data were analyzed by using one-sided t-test (right side). Based on the analysis results, it was found that tcount > ttable (2.549 > 2.032). Thus, it was indicated that gender affected the students' learning outcomes especially for social science subject. The average score for male students was 81.389 and the average score for female students was 83.667.

Cheating on Elementary School Students has occurred for a long time but it is still hard for teachers and the schools to overcome this phenomenon. Cheating will cause the children to be dishonest in achieving a high score. Besides, cheating will also be impactful until the students become adults. This behavior is harmful to other students who have studied hard and been honest in completing exams and assignments from teachers at school. Cheating is an act that is dishonest, fraudulent, and justifies anything to get a high score in completing the task, especially on tests or exams. This article applied a literature review as the research methodology to explain the situational, dispositional, personal, and external factors causing cheating. It was observed that cheating mostly acted by students were changing the answers in the exam after reading notes when the teacher was out of the classroom, using the notes prepared for answering the questions, looking at or asking for answers from other students, and allowing other students to view or copy his answers. This article encouraged the participation from parents, classroom teachers, and school institutions to work together to improve the students’ self-awareness in order that cheating would not become a habit to reach a high score in the future.

This study aimed to reveal the implementation of process skills in the learning process at several Elementary Schools in Wringinanom-Gresik. The method in this study was descriptive qualitative research. The data were collected through a closed questionnaire using a Likert scale with 4 choices, namely SA (Strongly Agree), A (Agree), D (Disagree), SD (Strongly Disagree). The respondents in this study were 21 teachers from several elementary schools. Based on the results obtained fromt the respondents, it was found that 81% of the teachers agreed and applied the process skills while 18% of the respondents disagreed. This was because not all learning models were applicable by using process skills. This study concluded that the majority of teachers at Elementary Schools in Wringinanom - Gresik implemented and agreed the learning process with process skills. In addition, it was also found that the teachers’ knowledge about the process skills was good.

This research was initiated by the lack of teachers’ pedagogical and professional competence at SDN 18 Batang Barus in performing the teaching and learning process. The research aimed to describe the implementation of workshop technique supervision to enhance the pedagogical and professional competence of the classroom teachers at SDN 18 Batang Barus. The method of this research was school action research which was conducted in 2 cycles at the end of semester I academic year 2017/2018. This research involved 9 classroom teachers as the research subjects. The research data were collected through the observation of the implementation of workshop technique supervision and the assessment of pedagogical and professional competence of classroom teachers. The results showed that the implementation of workshop technique supervision at SDN 18 Batang Barus followed the procedures which was divided into four main steps: (1) planning, including setting workshop goals (output to be achieved), formulating the main points, determining the troubleshooting procedures, and determining tools and supplies used during the workshop, (2) implementation, (3) observation, and (4) reflection including formulating the difficulties faced and formulating an action plan as a follow up activities. After applying workshop technique supervision, this research revealed an increase of pedagogical competence of the classroom teachers at SDN 18 Batang Barus, which was initially 51.61 and increased to 69.40 in cycle I and became 86.05 cycle II. Moreover, it was also found an improvement of the professional competence of the classroom teachers after applying workshop technique supervision, which was initially 43.75 and increased to 65.19 in cycle I and became 86.11 in cycle II. Based on the research findings, it was concluded that workshop technique supervision could be used as an alternative way to do supervision for teachers who mostly faced the same problems.

This study aimed to determine the effect of inquiry model on students’ learning outcomes on the theme “Benda-Benda Disekitarku” at grade V SDN 076713 Zuzundrao in the Academic Year 2019/2020. This study used inquiry model with a quantitative research type. The population was all fifth grade students of SDN 076713 Zuzundrao consisting of 3 classes. Then, the sample chosen was class V-A, which consisted of 30 students. The data were collected thorugh a test containing 30 essay questions which were declared valid and reliable. The result of correlation obtained that rcount = 0.672 ≥ rtable = 0.361. This implied that there was a significant influence between inquiry model and learning outcomes. Furthermore, it was found that the average score of the students’ learning outcomes was 173.7. Then, the result of t test revealed that tcount = 4.786 while ttable = 1.701. Since tcount> ttable,, Ho was rejected. It proved that there was a significant influence of inquiry model on the students’ learning outcomes on the theme of “Benda-Benda Disekitarku” at grade V SDN 076713 Zuzundrao in the Academic Year 2019/2020.

The purpose of this study was to provide an overview of the implementation of the learning based on Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) for social science subject at grade V, especially when learning was conducted online. HOTS-based learning began to be applied when the 2013 curriculum was refined. Therefore, schools in Indonesia started to implement HOTS-based learning in order that the students achieved a superior level of thinking. In addition, the refinement of the 2013 curriculum has also been linked to smart predictions occurred in the 21st century, in which everything is based on students, for example how students build their skills to live and work, to innovate, and skills to manage technology. These skills are related to everyday life in which a person performs social activities. This social life is summarized in Social Sciences (IPS) subject taught to students in elementary schools. Social science subject is influential in educating the students since the materials are very helpful for the students to understand their world. However, students are candidates of the society, so that provision is crucial before they start to socialize. IPS is presented to provide learning on order to fulfill their social nature as humans or social beings.

This study was a quasi-experimental research. The population of this study were all grade IV students of SD Negeri 16 Kota Banda Aceh. The samples in this study were students at grade IV A and IV B, who were chosen by using total sampling techniques. The instrument on this study was a science learning achievement test and a motivation questionnaire. Then, the data were analyzed by using two-way ANOVA at a significant level of Alpha 0.05. The results of this study indicated that: (1) Discovery Learning and Think Pair Share learning models gave significant effects on the students’ achievement in science learning. This was demonstrated by the average score of learning achievement for DL class of 81.87 and the average score of learning achievement for TPS class of 74.27, with a sig. value. 0,000; (2) there was an effect of learning motivation on the students’ science learning achievement which was seen from the average score of the learning achievement of highly motivated students for as much as 81.87. Meanwhile, the average score of learning achievement of students with low motivation was 74.27, with a sig. Value of 0,000; (3) there was no interaction between Discovery Learning and Think Pair Shared learning models in terms of students’ learning motivation towards science learning achievement at grade IV, with a sig. value of 0.086.

This study was initiated by the fact that Elementary schools (SD/MI) teachers did not utilize learning media optimally, especially interactive media, in learning fractions. Meanwhile, nowadays the technology grows rapidly so it requires teachers to be able to adjust themselves in utilizing the technology. Technology brings education to a more advanced and more developed condition in the learning process, both inside and outside the classroom. The purpose of this study was to develop an effective, practical, interactive, and innovative learning media for mathematics learning, especially about fraction. This study was research and development. The results found that Virtual Smart Fraction was very feasible and effective to be used as a learning media. The feasibility of the media was based on the results of validation from media experts with the percentage of 93.33% and from material experts with the percentage of 96.25%. Then, the effectiveness of this media was revealed based on the results of the small group test with a percentage of 96.36% and the results of the large group test with the percentage of 95.14%. Besides, it was also found that Virtual Smart Fraction media increased the average score of the students from 62.58 to 89.82. Thus, Virtual Smart Fraction media was categorized as valid, very feasible, and very effective as a learning media for mathematics learning.
