Abstract

The background of this study was the low science (IPA) learning outcomes of students, as evidenced by the fact that out of 40 students, only 20 students achieved learning mastery and the average student score was 59.50. This research was conducted as a classroom action research in two cycles. The data used in this study consisted of teacher activities, student activities, and student learning outcomes. Based on the research results, it was revealed that the inquiry-based biology learning strategy could improve students’ science learning outcomes. This improvement was evidenced by: (a) increased teacher and student activities in each cycle, where teacher activity increased from 42.00% in the first meeting of cycle I to 52.00% in the second meeting of cycle I, then to 65.00% in the first meeting of cycle II, and finally to 78.00% in the second meeting of cycle II, while student activity increased from 49.00% in the first meeting of cycle I to 61.00% in the second meeting of cycle I, then to 68.00% in the first meeting of cycle II, and to 81.00% in the second meeting of cycle II; and (b) improved completeness of student learning outcomes in each cycle, where the number of students achieving mastery increased from 20 students (50.00%) in the preliminary data to 26 students (65.00%) in the first cycle and to 34 students (85.00%) in the second cycle. In addition, students’ average learning scores also improved from 59.50 in the preliminary data to 64 in the first cycle and to 68 in the second cycle.

Abstract

Implementation of the 2013 curriculum is very different from the previous curriculum, there are still many obstacles that we know greatly affect the learning outcomes, both in terms of media used, the assessment in the 2013 curriculum is more complicated than the previous curriculum then the methods used to convey the learning materials that want to be taught not effective or even incompatible with the material to be conveyed. This research method is a classroom action research conducted in improving the learning process, with four meetings. The assessment taken in this study is an evaluation evaluation of each meeting in the form of attitudinal value, value of knowledge and skill value based on teacher's book on theme 4 "Healthy is Important" with sub theme 1 "Importance of Health and Environment". On the attitudes that appear attitude of self-confidence, curiosity and independence Already entrusted by 20.68% confidence, and curiosity while mandated 6.2% lower because students are still not familiar with the implementation of the curriculum 2013. Results of student knowledge seen the development in excellent value at the first meeting of 36.4%, at the second meeting decreased to 30.3%, while at the third meeting experienced a 52.25% increase again. While on the results of these students' skills on four meetings emerged every meeting with a very good category at the first meeting of 18.1%, at the second meeting increased to 27.3%, the third meeting decreased to 20.68%, while at the fourth meeting increased again by 65.62%.

Abstract

Ideally in the learning process students are expressed interest if students make their learning as an interest, because interest will make students learn seriously. The reality is that students are lacking in enthusiasm or not motivated to learn well, so it needs a method that can increase students' learning interest in the material in question. This study has obtained results that the use of team quiz methods can improve student learning outcomes. This can be seen from the results of the analysis in cycle I and cycle II, showing an increase in student learning completeness from cycle I to cycle II. This result is clearly seen from the average student learning outcomes in the first cycle with a percentage of 74.40% while in the second cycle the percentage is 89.20%. This proves that student learning completeness has increased in cycle II. This proves that learning has a classical improvement. The use of team quiz method can increase students 'interest in learning can be seen based on students' interest in the use of team quiz method in learning PAI reaches 92.4% of the total number of students. This percentage is included in the very high category. So it was concluded that there was an increase in students' learning interest in PAI learning by using the team quiz method. Students are more active and have an interest in learning because the material presented is easy to remember and understand.

Abstract

Laboratory utilization is very important to support learning. The laboratory is very useful for measuring the standards of science and theory. Theoretical learning and practicum in the laboratory are integral activities in the teaching and learning process. This study aims to describe and find a laboratory readiness solution for the Department of Primary School Teacher Education, Faculty of Education, Semarang State University which supports the implementation of e-learning. The research variables were the completeness of laboratory facilities, laboratory governance system of the Department of Primary School Teacher Education, lecturer and technical management, and users of the Laboratory of Primary School Teacher Education Study Program. The subjects of this study were lecturers, students of the Department of Primary School Teacher Education. Data items through questionnaires, observation, interviews, and documentation. Data were analyzed using qualitative descriptive. The results showed the level of satisfaction of students and lecturers as laboratory users. This also illustrates the problems that often occur in managing laboratories of the Department of Primary School Teacher Education. Integrated laboratories at the Department of PGSD FIP Semarang State University have a dual role in the fields of education, research and community service, although the three are still in a sufficient category. Integrated laboratory management requires special management that is different from laboratory management in the field of study

Abstract

Based on the researcher’s teaching experience in class IVB at SDN 011 Bukit Gajah, Ukui District, Pelalawan Regency, the learning outcomes of social studies (IPS) had not yet met the expected mastery standards. The minimum mastery criterion (KKM) was set at 70; however, only 12 students were able to achieve the KKM, while the remaining 10 students had not yet met the predetermined standard. Therefore, a learning method was needed that could facilitate students in gaining learning experiences and provide greater opportunities for them to develop according to their abilities. The purpose of this research was to improve IPS learning outcomes of class IVB students at SDN 011 Bukit Gajah, Ukui District, Pelalawan Regency, through the implementation of the cooperative learning model Numbered Heads Together (NHT). This study was conducted as a classroom action research (PTK). The research data showed that students’ daily test results increased from the initial average score of 60.78 to 77.5 in the first daily test (UH I), representing an increase of 18.09%. IPS learning outcomes from the base score to the second daily test (UH II) also increased, from 60.78 to 83.28, an improvement of 37.02%. In addition, teacher activities improved in each meeting, increasing from 58.33% in the first meeting of the first cycle to 87.5% in the last meeting of the second cycle. Student activities also showed improvement, increasing from 58.33% in the first meeting of the first cycle to 83.33% in the final meeting of the second cycle.

Abstract

Based on the results of tests conducted on students’ social studies (IPS) learning outcomes, it was found that the achievement level was low. Observations showed that, in general, students had not reached the expected mastery learning standard determined by the school-based curriculum (SBC). Of the 20 students, only 10 students (50%) achieved the minimum mastery criterion (KKM) of 65 in social studies. The low learning outcomes were also caused by the lack of variation in teaching methods and the limited use of instructional strategies that could engage students actively, creatively, and joyfully in the learning process. This study was conducted as a classroom action research, which is one of the teacher’s efforts to improve the quality of learning in the classroom. Based on the research data, students’ IPS learning outcomes showed a significant improvement from the preliminary data through the first and second cycles. The percentage of students achieving mastery increased from 50% in the preliminary data to 70% in the first cycle, and further increased to 80% in the second cycle among the 20 sixth-grade students of SD Negeri 007 Kampung Baru.
