Abstract

Students’ mathematic larning outcome of MTsN Gurun Panjang was low. It was one of the factors that showed students’ mastery in mathematic concept was also low. The phenomenon was assumed due to the techer-centered situation during the teaching and learning process in he classroom. Basides, the teachers were assumed lacking in considering students’already existing background knowledge, and the students’ mathematic concept using Fire-up strategy was higher than students’ mathematic concept using conventional model at grade VIII of MTsN Gurun Panjang.The design of the research was experiment. The population was students of grade VIII. The sample was taken randomly. The experiment group was VIII.1 and the control group was VIII.3. The instrument use in the researchwas essay post-test. The data was analyzed using t-test.Based on the data analysis, it was found that students’ average scores of experiment group was 74,04, higher that the control group the was 59. From the Minitab, it was obtained that P-value was 0.006. it showed that P-value was lower than α; 0,05 Therefore, it could be stated than students’ ability in understanding mathematic concept using Fire-Up strategy was better that students using conventional learning at grade VIII MTsN Gurun Panjang.

Abstract

This research is based on the lack of the students’ comprehension of mathematical concepts and the students’ low achievement of mathematic at class IX SMPN 10 South Solok academic year 2013/2014. The purpose of this research is to find out whether the students’ comprehension ability of mathematical concepts by Quick on the Draw technique is better than Conventional technique does. The design of this research is experimental. The population is the students of class IX SMPN 10 South Solok academic year 2013/2014. Technique of selecting sample is randomly. As a result, IX2 is experiment class and IX1 is control class. The instrument that is used is testing with indicator of concept comprehension ability. The testing contains 9 items with high reliability (0.89). The students’ score is analyzed by using t-test one tail. It is found that ttable(1.67) <tcalculated(5.44). It means that the hypothesis is accepted with significant value 95%. This can be concluded that the students’ comprehension of mathematical concept by quick on the draw technique is better than the students’ comprehension of mathematical concept by conventional technique at IX class of SMPN 10 South Solok academic year 2013/2014.

Abstract

The lacking of students’ activities in learning mathematics and the less understanding of mathematical concept. The aims of this research are to 1) know  how the development of student activities is by applying the model of cooperative learning of club-round technique to the grade-IX students of SMPN 2 Lembang Jaya, 2) whether the mathematical concept understanding by applying such model is better than that by using the conventional learning to the grade-IX students of SMPN 2 Lembang Jaya. Population is the students grade-IX of SMPN 2 Lembang Jaya of academic 2012/2013 years. The sampling is made randomly and the chosen samples are grade-IX 3 as an experimental class and grade-IX 4 as a control class. The type of research is an experimental research with random to subject design. The analysis technique of the data using activities observasition and test t by one side. Based on the analysis of data, it is obtained that 1) the students’ activities experience an improvement by applying the model of Cooperative Learning of Club-Round Technique, 2) t result 2,02 > t tabel 1,69  So that, the students’ mathematical concept understanding applying such model is better than the students’ mathematical concept understanding using the conventional learning to the grade-IX students of SMPN 2 Lembang Jaya of the year 2012/2013.

Abstract

Understanding of concepts and skills students learning activities are essential to reach the goal of learning. So, we need the learning process afectifly and efficiently. It have influenced for students result. This research has goal to see the influence of implementation learning strategic of cooperative learning type Students Team Achievement Division (STAD) to the understanding of mathematical concepts and skills students learning activities. The type of research is experimental research. Technique of random sampling. The instrument used is the observation sheet student learning activities, with the activity types of Oral Activities, Writing Activities, and Mental Activities. Test student understanding of mathematical concepts experimental class was 87,15 with a standar deviation of 11,4 and 81,6 with the control class is standart deviation 14,4. Hypothesis testing using t-test of the one part, obtained t cound > t table is 1,69 > 1,645 this means the hypothesis is accepted. Conclusion is students understanding of mathematical concept by implementation learning strategic of cooperative learning type STAD better than the students understanding by applying conventional learning.

Abstract

Background of this research is the low of solution of the teachers’ effort to solve the students’ problem in learning mathematic at eight grade in SMPN 31 Padang. The purposes of this research: 1) to know how the improvement of the students at ability to solve the students’ problem in learning mathematic at eight grade in SMPN 31 Padang using cooperative learning model type CIRC. 2) to know what is the achievement the students’ to save the students’ problem in learning mathematic at eight grade in SMPN 31 Padang by using cooperative learning model type CIRC better than using conventional learning. The type of this research is experimental research. The result of the hypothesis testing is P-value 0,000 lower than α 0,05, so the hypothesis of the result is accepted. It can be concluded that the students’ ability to solve the students’ problem in learning mathematic by using cooperative learning model type CIRC better than conventional learning at eight grade in SMPN 31 Padang.

Abstract

The background of this research is the lower ability comprehension of mathematical concept for students. The students on the study math are out of focus and not concentration. The purpose of this research is to determine whether ability comprehension of mathematical concept for students by applying active learning strategy’s type Guided Note Taking were better than implementasi of conventional learning’s students for grade VIII SMPN 2 lingggo Sari Baganti regency of South Beach. The type of research is experimental by using Random toward subject. The instrument of this research is the comprehension of mathematical concept test. The technique of data analysis is using t-test one side with help Minitab. Based on the data analysis results have sampel class distribution normal and homogeneous to level α. The result that obtained P-value = 0,030 α then this research is accepted hypothesis. Inferential that the ability comprehension of mathematical concept for student by applying active learning strategy’s type Guided Note Taking is better than implementasi conventional learning’s students for grade VIII SMPN 2 lingggo Sari Baganti regency of South Beach.

Abstract

The research is dony based on students  problem solving mathematical are low. At the first daily test on second semester in eighth graders at SMP 3 Lengayang 2012/2013. It can be seen from the  percentage of is aims to know : what are students’ ability problem solving mathematical by using identity corporate technigue is more better than convensional technigue. the type of research is Experimental research. The date analysis technigue is used t- test and Minitab.The result of hypothesis testing (P-value) = 0,036. It mean H0 is rejected and H1  is acjeted it can be concluded that the students’ ability toward problem solving in mathematical by using identity corporate technigue is more better than conventional technigue in eight grade at SMPN 3 Lengayang.

Abstract

The background of is Understanding of mathematical concept is low. This research is knowing whether the students’ mathematical concept apprehension by applying the cooperative learning model of Think Pair Share type, accompanied by questionnaire, was better than the students understanding of mathematical concept by applying the conventional learning at SMAN I Luhak Nan Duo in Pasaman Barat Regency. This was experimental research with experimental design of Random to Subject. The instruments used in this research was questionnaires and final tests. The results of student activity analysis show that the activities risen  an improvement, and from the hypothesis testing it is obtained that P-value is 0.005 so that H0 is rejected and the hypothesis is accepted. It can be summarized that the students understanding of mathematical concept by applying the think-pair-share-type cooperative learning model with the questionnaires was better than that by using the conventional one for the XI-grade IPA student of SMAN I Luhak Nan Duo, Pasaman Barat Regency, academic year 2013/2014.

Abstract

The background of this research was students’ ability in sharing information, not only theory but also less of discussion the exercise with other student optimal and the lack of the students’ understanding of mathematical concept. The research aimed to determine students’ understanding of mathematical concept by applying strategy of active learning type Practice-Rehearsal Pairs with quizzes better than the students’ understanding of mathematical concept with conventional learning grade VIII SMPN 1 Patamuan Padang Pariaman regency and to analysis the effectiveness of strategy of active learning type Practice-Rehearsal Pairs with quizzes in learning mathematics. It was an experimental research with the design random on the subject. Instrument used was an essay test and questionnaire which already validated. Hypothesis testing which was used by one side of t test with program MINITAB 14, in which p-value 0,003 smaller than α 0,05 it mean that the alternative hypothesis was accepted. It can be concluded that the students’ understanding of mathematical concept with strategy of active learning types Practice-Rehearsal Pairs with quizzes better than by applying conventional learning.

Abstract

The research of this background is based on the students understanding of mathematical concepts have minimum level, in pre-teaching,  the teacher do not generate interest of the students and do not give motivation to the students, students tend to be passive and reluctant to ask. The aims of This study is to determine whether students understanding of mathematical concepts by applying the Learning Cycle models are better than student understanding of mathematical concepts by applying conventional learning in class XI students of SMA Negeri 15 Padang. Type of this research is experimental research, the researcher choose the sample of research using Random Subjects . The population of this study was four class of XI IPA students of SMA Negeri 15 Padang academic year 2013/2014. The sample was IPA2 class as the experimental class  and class XI IPA1 as the control class. The Instruments that used in this research is a test of understanding mathematical concepts. Based on the analysis of the data found that the two classes are normally and homogeneous samples at α = 0.05 and the results obtained from testing the hypothesis P-value = 0.007 means less than α = 0.05, so it means that the hypothesis in this study is received . It can be concluded that the students understanding of mathematical concepts that apply the Learning Cycle Model with taped questions better than students understanding of mathematical concepts by applying conventional learning in class XI student of SMA Negeri 15 Padang.
