Abstract

This research is bacground by students understanding of mathematical concepts is low and students more like ask to their friends without attention a question given correct or incorrect. This reseach aims to know how development of understanding indication of mathematical concepts every meeting and what is student’s understanding of mathematical concepts with apply cooperative learning model the tipe is Think Pair Share with quiz better than student’s understanding of mathematical concepts with apple conventional learning in the class MTsN Model Padusunan Pariaman 2013-2014 school year. Kind of research is experimental, with planning research toward subject. Population in research is all of students class VIII with class sample VIII2 as class exsperiment and class VIII4 as class control. Instrument in test research understanding mathematical concept in essay with test reliability is r11 = 0,747. technique of data analysis was T-test. Basic result of testing hypotesis obtained P-value = 0,002 more small than of standar obvious that =0,05. So,to get conclusion that understanding mathematical concepts with apply cooperative learning model the tipe is Think Pair Share with quiz better than student’s understanding of mathematical concepts with apple conventional learning in the class MTsN Model Padusunan Pariaman at the level of 95%.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya pemahaman konsep matematis siswa yang terlihat pada hasil belajar matematika siswa kelas VIII SMPN 1 Lengayang. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah  pemahaman konsep matematis siswa dengan menerapkan strategi Peer Lesson lebih baik dari pada pemahaman konsep matematis siswa dengan menerapkan pembelajaran konvensional siswa kelas VIII SMPN 1 Lengayang. Jenis penelitian adalah penelitian eksperimen dengan rancangan penelitian random terhadap subjek. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMPN 1 Lengayang Tahun Pelajaran 2012/2013, dengan sampel penelitian adalah kelas VIII.4 dan kelas VIII.2. Instrumen pengumpulan data adalah tes pemahaman konsep matematis, bentuk tes yang digunakan adalah essai dengan reliabilitas tes adalah r11 = 0,84. Berdasarkan uji hipotesis diperoleh   P-value = 0,003  lebih kecil dari pada , maka hipotesis pada penelitian ini diterima. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa pemahaman konsep matematis siswa dengan menerapkan strategi Peer Lesson lebih baik dari pada pemahaman konsep matematis siswa dengan  menerapkan pembelajaran konvensional.

Abstract

This research was conducted based on the phenomena indicating that the teachers did not seem to have their students study in a group and were not likely to challenge them in the form of group competition. Therefore, the students were not willing to share what they have already learned with others and this condition made their understanding on mathematical concept became unsatisfactory. This could be seen from the learning achievement of the first year students of SMPN 4 Ranah Pesisir in math in Academic Year 2012/2013. This research was aimed at revealing the use of Learning Tournament active learning strategy gave better effect on the students’ understanding on mathematical concept than that of conventional learning strategy in class VIII of SMPN 4 Ranah Pesisir in Academic Year 2013/2014. This was an experimental research which used random research design toward the subject. The population of the research was all of students in class VIII of SMPN 4 Ranah Pesisir in Academic Year 2013/2014 which was divided into two classes. By using random sampling technique, class VIII2 was chosen as the experimental class and class VIII1 was as the control class. The instrument of the research was an essay post-test whose reliability was 0.83. The result of data analysis showed that p-value < α, thus the hypothesis was accepted. In conclusion, the use of Learning Tournament active learning strategy improved the students’ understanding on mathematical concept better than that of conventional learning strategy.

Abstract

The background of this research is student’s achievement in mathematic is law under the KKM (minimal achievement criteria), This probiem caused by the student’s understanding about the concept mathematic they lost the concept in their memory quickly. The purpose of the research to know is the student achievement in mathematic by using Group To Group active learning strategy and College Ball better than convensional learning for students grade VIII  SMPN 3 Koto XI Tarusan in 2011/-2013.The type of research is experimental. The study population were student’s of class VIII SMPN 3 Koto XI Tarusan in 2012/2013. Technique of random sampling. This research instrument is the achievement test. The form used is the essay test, a reliability test r11= 0,72. The data analysis technique used is t-test of one part with the help of software MINITAB. The result of hypothesis test obtained P-Value = 0,009 is less than α = 0,05, then the hypothesis in this research received. In conclusion, student’s achievement in mathematic by using Group To Group active learning strategy and College Ball  better than conventional learning

Abstract

The research was background by the understanding of mathematical concept achieved class XI IPASMAN 1 Sungai Beremas Pasaman Barat is still low. This is because the less students construct own knowledge gained from the result of the discussion.Thisresearch purposes to find out if the students mathematical understanding the applying cooperative learning types think talk write better than on a mathematical concept understanding students with conventional learning on student in grade XI IPASMAN 1 Sungai Beremas Pasaman Barat. This is the kind of research experiments. The population in this study are all grade XI IPA SMAN 1 Sungai Beremas Pasaman Barat years lesson 2012/2013. The technique of sampling was done randomly,Selected  grade XI IPA.1 as experimental class and XI IPA.2 as the class of the control. The instrument which was used in this research was essay test with index of reliability = 0,85. Mathematical concept understanding test result student class experiments is 80,10and control class is 71,58. Hypothesis testing using the one way of t-test with the help of software MINITAB, obtained P- value of 0,018is smaller than α = 0,05. So it can be concluded the understanding of the mathematical concept of student using cooperative model types think talk write better than on understanding concept that apply to conventional learning at grade XI IPA SMAN 1 Sungai Beremas Pasaman Barat.

Abstract

The background of the research are the students’ mathematical concept apprehension, leading to their low mathematical points. The purposes of this research is to know whether the students’ mathematical concept apprehension by applying the Genius Learning strategy is better than the conventional learning for the VII-grade students of MTsN Dangung-Dangung. This is an experimental research. The technique of sampling is by considering the existing characteristics and the sampling is purposive samples. The samples are taken in the purpose of improving the students’ mathematical concept apprehension and improving their learning completion. The instrument used in this research is the final test. The points of learning result for the students are processed with the Mann-Whitney test by using the final test data with the indicator of concept apprehension. The analysis is made by the assistance of Minitab and provides the probability value of 0.3197. It is shown that the probability is > α. So that the hypothesis put forward is rejected on the trust level of 95%. It is concluded that the students’ mathematical concept apprehension by applying the Genius Learning strategy is similar with that using the conventional learning for the VII-grade students of MTsN Dangung-Dangung in the year 2012/2013.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the student’s understanding of mathematical concepts are still low and cooperation among students who are less intertwined. This reseacrh is aimed at knowing the student’s mathematical concept by applying the active strategy learning with practice – rehearsal pairs type accompanied with LKS better than the understanding of student’s mathematical concept by applying conventional learning. The type of this reserach is experimental that used random design on the subject. Population of this research is the student’s of XI IPA2 which consist of four classes. This research used random sampling, XI IPA2 as experimental class, and XI IPA1 as control class. Instrument of this research is final test of student’s understanding mathematical concept in the form of essay with the reliability test is 0,853, meaning given problem reliably. Based on the analysis of the data is known that both of the class sample  distribute normally and homogeneous on the real level   hypothesis test results obtained P-value = 0,003 less than  so, the hypothesis in this study received. Thus, it can be concluded the student’s understanding mathematical concept by applying the active strategy learning with practice – rehearsal pairs type accompanied with LKS better than the understanding of student’s mathematical concept by applying conventional learning.

Abstract

This research was based on the preliminary research on students of Junior High School 14 (SMPN 14) Padang who got low understanding  in mathematics concept.  This research was aimed at determining whether students’ understanding mathematics concept by applying  one of cooperative learning  called club round technique was better than applying any other convensional techniques in teaching mathematics at grade VIII of SMPN 14 Padang.This research was experimental research by having random sampling. The population were grade VIII students of SMPN 14 Padang. In order to get the sample, the researcher used random sampling and it was chosen that grade VIII. 6 students were as the experiment class and grade VIII. 5 students as the control class. The instrument used in this research was achievement test. The test form used was essay with the relialibility  =0,76. The data analysis technique used was the t-test of the party at α =0,05 with the use of Minitab Software.  Based on the analysis from those two classes, it were normally distributed and homogenous at the significance level α = 0,05 and the results obtained from testing the hypothesis P-value = 0,039, so the hypothesis was accepted. Therefore, it could be conluded that the students’ understanding of the mathematics concept by implementing cooperative learning, club round,  was better than implementing the conventional learning technique at grade VIII of SMPN 14 Padang.

Abstract

The research was background by an understanding of mathematical concepts students are still low and the students did not dare to ask the teacher. The purpose of this research was to determine the effect of active learning type The Learning Cell with handout about understanding of mathematical concepts students better than understanding of mathematical concepts students with conventional learning. Kind of this research is experiment with plan random on subyek. The population is IX SMPN 1 Kubung Kabupaten Solok and sample it IX3 as experiment class and IX5 as control class. This research use instrument is essay, that test about understanding of mathematical concepts students consist of 6 item  with reliability test  0,8238. By virtue of data analysis get average of result learning of student experiment class better than control class. Hypothesis use test t-one way with software MINITAB, result P-value 0,022 less than  is 0,05 so hypothesis acceptable. So the conclusion is learning with active learning type The Learning Cell with handout better than conventional learning at IX SMPN 1 Kubung Kabupaten Solok.

Abstract

There are several background in this research. First, the teacher still dominate all of theaching learning process so that the process applied one way communication or teacher centered. Second, the student are less activity. Third, the students less motivation which affect  the understanding of math concept of student especially is grade VIII. The purpose in this research to know whether the understanding of math concept of student by applying the quantum teaching model is better than the understanding of math concept of student by using conventional learning. The kind of this research is experiment by using random subject.  The population in this research is the student in grade VIII. The sample in this research is grade VIII.3 as experiment class and VIII.4 as control class. The instrument in this research is essay test with reliabilitas = 0,40. The technique of data analysis is used t-test one side, obtained,> then the hypothesis in this research is accepted. It is conclude that of math concept of student by applying quantum teaching model is better than the understanding of math concept of student by using conventional learning. Based on data analysis of student can be seen an increasing number of student who are active in every meeting.
