Abstract

The background of this research by the students lack of understanding of mathematic concept and the low mathematics achievement of students of class IX SMP Negeri 3 Bonjol Kabupaten Pasaman. This study aims to determine whether students understanding of mathematic concept by applying cooperatif learning style type group investigation with using students work sheet better than students understanding of mathematic concept that apply to conventional teaching class IX SMP Negeri 3 Bonjol Kabupaten Pasaman. This type of reseach is experimental. Population is all students grade IX SMP Negeri 3 Bonjol Kabupaten Pasaman. Technique of random sampling IX.2 as experimental class and IX.1 as control class. Instrument used was the ultimate test with indicator of understanding the concept. Form used is the essay test was 8 items with a reliabiity of 0,86. Technique data analysis used was -test because data not homogeneity. Based on the hypothesis test obtained value = 2,48 and t = 0,17. So, t’ > t. So the hypotesis is accept at the 95% confidence level. So it is concluded that the students understanding of mathematic concept by applying cooperatif learning style type group investigation with using students work sheet better than students understanding of mathematic concept that apply to conventional teaching class IX SMP Negeri 3 Bonjol Kabupaten Pasaman.

Abstract

The background of this research was students’ mathematic understanding which was still low. The purposes of this research were: 1) is students’ mathematic concept understanding through Genius Learning strategy by using Power Point better than a conventional Strategy that is applied to Eight Grade Students in MTSN Durian tarung in year 2012/2013. 2) To find out students’ motivation before and after being treated through genius learning by using Power Point. This research is an Experimental Research with random arrangement toward the subject of this research. The research population is all Eight Grade students which consist of five classes and the sample of the research is VIII2 AS experimental class and VIII1 as control class. The instruments used in this research are 1) motivation questionnaire 2) essay posttest with test reliability 0,708. MINITAB software used in this research to get the T-value = 2,76, it means better that ttabel = 1,645. In result, the hypothesis is accepted. In conclusion, Genius Learning strategy by using Power Point is better than a conventional strategy toward students’ mathematic concept understanding through that is applied to Eight Grade Students in MTSN Durian Tarung and students’ motivation increased.

Abstract

This research based on the students understanding of mathematical concepts are still low. This study aims to determine whether students understanding of mathematical concepts by applying Discussion Method Type Buzz Group better than students understanding of mathematical concepts with the application of conventional learning. This type of research is experimental, the research design static group comparison. The population in this research is the students in grade VIII SMPN 14 Padang. Sampling was done by purposive sampling, with the consideration that both classes have an average that is similar to the decision classes VIII.6 and VIII.4 as samples. The instrument in this research is essay test with reliabilitas = 0,85. Results of data analysis that the two classes are normally distributed and homogeneous samples at the level of α = 0,05 and t test results obtained P-value = 0,000 is less than α = 0,05. It can be concluded that the students understanding of mathematical concepts by applying Discussion Method Type Buzz Group VIII.4 grade better than students understanding of mathematical concepts by applying conventional learning models VIII.6 grade SMP 14 Padang with 95% confidence level.

Abstract

This study originated from the fact in SMPN 4 Sijunjung that learning is still going on in one direction so as to make the learning process less enjoyable. It resulted to lower students understanding of mathematical concepts. One of the ways that could solve this problem is to implement an active learning strategy type quiz team. This study aims to determine whether students understanding of mathematical concepts by applying active learning strategies quiz team type better than students understanding of mathematical concepts with conventional learning in class VII SMPN 4 Sijunjung. This type of research is experimental research on the subject with a random design. Research instrument is the final test in the form of essays studying containing indicator of understanding the concept. Techniques of data analysis were performed using one-way t-test with the help of MINITAB. Based on the analysis of data obtained P-value of 0.037 is less than α is set at 0.05. It can be concluded that the students understanding of mathematical concepts by applying active learning strategies quiz team type better than students understanding of mathematical concepts with conventional learning in class VII SMPN 4 Sijunjung.

Abstract

This research is motivated by student’s understanding of matematical concepts. The purpose of this research is to know what is student`s understanding of matematical concepts at grade VIII SMP Islam Raudhatul Jannah Payakumbuh that use learning cycle model better than conventional model. Kind of this research is experimental research, with research plan is Randomized  to Subject. Population of this research is student`s at grade VIII SMP Islam Raudhatul Jannah Payakumbuh academic year 2013/2014. The instrumentation of this research is understanding test of mathematical concepts. Technique of data analysis is used in this research is t-test one side by using software MINITAB. Based on the result of t-test is P-value = 0,001, it means lower than  = 0,05, therefore hipotesis is accepted furthermove. We can conclude that student`s understanding of mathematical concepts is treated by using learning cycle better than student`s understanding of mathematical concepts is treated by using convensional learning at grade VIII SMP Islam Raudhatul Jannah Payakumbuh academic year 2013/2014.

Abstract

This research is based by the lack of understanding of the mathematical concepts that lead to low student math achievement of student’s. This research is aimed at knowing wheather the understanding of the mathematics concept of the students who are treated by used implementating cooperative learning method’s Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD) is better than understanding of the mathematics concepts of the students with conventional teaching class VIII SMPN 4 Lembah Melintang West Pasaman and to determine the effectiveness of application of the cooperative learning method’s  Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD) in mathematics class VIII SMPN 4 Lembah Melintang West Pasaman. This type of research is experimental with random study design on the subject. The technique of data analysis used was the Mann-Whitney test with the help by MINITAB. Based on data analysis, it is known that both sample classes does not normal distribution and homogeneous distribution at α = 0,05. Hypothesis test result obtained probability value = 0,0199 is less than  α = 0,05, so  the hypothesis is accepted. Consequently, it can be concluded that the understanding of the mathematics concept of the students who are treated by used implementing cooperative learning method’s Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD) is better than understanding of the mathematics concept of the students with conventional teaching class VIII SMPN 4 Lembah Melintang Kabupaten West Pasaman.

Abstract

This research is lower of students’ understanding of mathematical concept  comprehension at eighth grade students of SMPN 1 west Pasaman and lack to given chance for approach their idea in learning process. One of step the problem by using type Index Card Match (ICM) strategy in learning mathematics. So this research is aim to know student’s understanding of mathematical by using Type Index Card Match (ICM) Strategy was better than conventional learning toward student’s at eighth grade SMPN 1 Sungai Aur west Pasaman. Population in this research is the eight class student of SMPN 1 Sungai Aur west Pasaman academic year of 2012/2013. The sample is taken randomly. The experiment class is VIII5 and the control class VIII1. The instrument in this research is mathematical concept understanding test like esay. Data by analysis with using test normality, test homogeneity and t-test. The researcher to analyse the data, the researcher got the result post test which using the students understanding of mathematical concept the experiment class is 73,62 and the control class is 63,61. Hypothesis test is using MINITAB with t-test, got probabilitas = 0,002 is smaller than  0,05. Then it can be concluded that student’s understanding of mathematical concept using active learning type Index Card Match (ICM) strategy is be better than conventional learning toward students’ at eighth grade SMPN 1 Sungai Aur west Pasaman.

Abstract

This research was based by the understanding of mathematical concept and students are less able to express the idea with creatively and scientifically. This research aim to determine whether students’ understanding of mathematical concept by applying learning models of articulation beginning with constructivism approach is better than the students’ understanding of mathematical concept with the application of conventional learning at class twelve grade students of SMKN 2 Gunung Talang Kabupaten Solok School-Year 2013/2014. Type of research is experimental research. Population of research are students at twelve grade SMKN 2 Gunung Talang School-Year 2013/2014. The sampling technique is done randomly whith  class XII Akuntansi was chosen ekperimental class and class Marketing was control class. The instrument used in this study was final test with indicator of understanding the mathematical concept. Form of test used is a form of essay to amount seven question with a reliability test . Hypothesis testing used a t-test. The results of the data analysis obtained from  and  , it can be concluded that the students’ understanding of mathematical concept with application of learning models of artikulasi beginning whith constructivism aproach was better than the students understanding of mathematical concept with conventional learning at twelve grade students SMKN 2 Gunung Talang Kabupaten Solok School-Year 2013/2014.

Abstract

This research was motivated by the mathematics learning outcomes achieved by students of class VIII MTsN Batang Kapas is still below the minimum completeness criteria (KKM). The purpose of this study was to determine whether the average ability of students mathematics learning outcomes by using a Mind Mapping learning strategy type is better than the average results of students mathematics learning with conventional learning in class VIII MTsN batang Kapas.This research is a kind of experiment . The population in this study were all eighth grade students enrolled MTsN Batang Kapas in the school year 2013/2014 . whereas the sample in this study is as experimental class VIII A and VIII D as the control class . The instrument used is the achievement test . The form of an essay test that is used with a reliability of 0.81. Technique analysis achievement test prepared by t. Analyses data performed with the help of MINITAB software , obtained from the calculation of P - value = 0.009 is less than α = 0.05 . Therefore we can conclude the average mathematics achievement of students with learning strategy type using Mind Mapping is better than the average results of students mathematics learning with conventional learning in class VIII MTsN Batang Kapas 2013/2014 .
