Abstract

Background of this research is student’s grade VIII SMPN 1 GunungTalang comprehension of mathematical concepts still low. In that case endence when student’s are less active in the learning process. The purpose of this research is to know how student’s activity in the learning process by using the power of two and four strategy and to know what is student’s comprehension of mathematical concept at grade VIII SMPN 1 GunungTalang by using the power of two and four strategy better than convensional model. Kind of this research is experimental researcd,becides research plan is random on subject. The population is student’sat grade VIII SMPN 1 GunungTalang academic year 2013/2014. To take sample in this research is randomly so that, the researchergotten grade VIII.5 as experiment class and VIII.4 as control class  the instrumentation is used in this research is  comprehension test of mathematical concept. Type of test is used type essay with realibilitas test is . Tecnique of analysis data is t-test one side by using software minitab therefore, the final analysis with a = 0,05 be obtained P-value = 0,003, because P-value minus for a, so hipothesis is accepted in this research. So that it can be concluded that student’s comprehension of mathematical concept is treated by using the power of two and four strategy better than student’s comprehension of mathematical concepts is treated by using convensional model at grade VIII SMPN 1 GunungTalang.

Abstract

The backgrounds of this research are the less understanding of students’ mathematical concept are still low and the worse group learning due to the lack of cooperation among groups. The aims of research are to know the students’ mathematical concept understanding by applying the corporate identity technique is better than that by using the conventional learning. The type of research is an experimental research with random to subject design. Based on the analysis of data found that the two classes are normally distributed and homogeneous samples at significance level   α = 0,05. Hypothesis test results obtained p - value = 0,001 is less than α = 0,05, the hypothesis is accepted. It can be summarized that the students’ mathematical concept understanding by applying the corporate identity technique is better than that by using the conventional learning in class XI IPA SMAN 14 Padang Academic Year 2012/2013.

Abstract

The research is based on the less of students understanding of mathematical concepts and students ashame and did not want to ask question about the material they did not understand yet. The purpose of this research is to know whether the students understanding of mathematical concepts by using active learning types Learning Starts With a Question is better than the students mathematical concept that using conventional learning strategy. The kind of this research is experimental research, with random designtoward the subject of research. The population of this research is students of VII grade of MTsN Palangki in 2012-2013 academic year. The technique of sampling is doing by using random sampling, that was chosen as sample class is VII2 as experiment class and VII3 as control class. The instrument that is used in this research is post test of students understanding of mathematical concept. The test form that is used is essays with the reability of the test 0,89. The technique of data analisys is used test T by using MINITAB software. Based on the data analisys, it was gotten P-value is 0,00 it means smaller than  = 0,05 , so that the hypothesis of this research is accepted so it can be concluded that the students understanding of mathematical concept by using active learning type Learning Starts With a Question is better than the students understanding of mathematical concept that is using conventional learning strategy of VII grade students of MTsN Palangki  in 2012-2013 academic year.

Abstract

This research was conducted based on the fact that the students’ understanding on mathematics concept was still low and they seemed unable to answer questions delivered by the teacher. This research was aimed at revealing whether the use of Talking Stick learning model could improve the second year students’ understanding on mathematics concept better than that of conventional learning at SMPN 28 Padang. This was an experimental research which used random research design toward the subject. The data gathered was analyzed by using t-test. The result of data analysis indicated that the two classes were normally distributed and homogeny (α=0.05). The result of hypothesis test by using MINITAB showed that P-Value was 0.005 signifying that hypothesis was accepted. Thus, it was concluded that the use of Talking Stick learning model could improve the second year students’ understanding on mathematics concept better than that of conventional learning model at SMPN 28 Padang in Academic Year 2013/2014 with 95% of reliable level.

Abstract

This research based of the lack of the students’ comprehension of mathematics concepts. This condition can be shown from students’ mathematics achievements of class VIII MTsN Palangki of Sijunjung Regency in 2012/2013 Academic Year. The purpose of this research is to find out the effectivity of the application of cooperative learning type Think Talk Write toward the comprehension of students’ mathematical concepts and  influence of the application of cooperative learning type Think Talk Write toward the comprehension of students’ mathematical concepts. This research is kind of experimental research with the design random on the subject. The population of this research is students in class VIII that consist of 6 classes. The instrument that is used in this research is questionnaire about learning effectivity and post test in form of  essays with reliability of the test is 0.93. Technique of data analysis is using one side T- Test with MINITAB. The result of hypothesis test is gotten that P-value 0.008 is smaller than α that is 0.05, so the research hypothesis can be accepted. Consequently, it can be concluded that the students comprehension of mathematical concepts with the application of cooperative learning type Think Talk Write is better than conventional learning in the class VIII of MTsN Palangki of Sijunjung Regency.

Abstract

The background of this research is the students easy forget with concept that cannot give opinions and ideas. The purpose of this research such as, (1) to know how development students understanding of Mathematis concept, (2) to know what students understanding of Mathematis concept that use operan kertas ide technique is more good than students understanding of Mathematis concept by using conventional learning at class of VIII SMPN 3 Lengayang. This research is experiment research with random design toward subject. The population in this research is all of student at class of VIII SMPN 3 Lengayang of year 2013/2014. Technique of sampling is done by random sampling, furthermore it is chosen VIII.3 class as experiment class and VIII.4 class as control class. Instrument of this research is quiz and final test that is formed valid and reliable test in 0,83. Based the data analysis is knew that both of classes is normal distribution and homogeny in real taraf . Hyphotesis test result is got p-value  which is more little than , so hyphotesis is accept. In conclusion that students understanding of Mathematis concept is applay by using convensional learning at class of VIII SMPN 3 Lengayang.

Abstract

This research was done due to the grade-VII students’ mathematic communication at SMPN 1 Sijunjung which was low. The research aimed at finding out whether the grade-XI students’ understanding of mathematic communication by implementing the dreadlines strategy was better than by implementing the conventional strategy. The design of the research was experimental research. The population was all grade-VII students at SMPN 1 Sijunjung of 2012-2013. The sample was taken randomly. Grade VII 1 was the experiment group while grade VII 2 was the control group. The instruments of the research were post-test and communication indicators. The test used was essay test with its reliability r11 = 0.93 the data were analyzed by using the one-way t-test using MINITAB. Based on the result of hypothesis analysis, it was obtained the P-Value = 0,001 which meant lower than α = 0,05 so that the hypothesis of the research was accepted. Therefore, it was concluded that students’ mathematic communication using the dreadlines strategy was better than students’ mathematic communication using the conventional learning.

Abstract

The background of this research was concept undertanding of students toward math that can be seen through the students’ mathematics results grade VIII SMP 15 year 2013/2014 are still low. The purpose of this research is to see “is students’ undertanding toward math concept that implemented active learning type listening better that  conventional class?”. This study is a kind of experiment research that is subject random design. The population of the subject is student at SMP 15 year 2013/2014 grade VIII. The sample of this research is VIII.3 as experiment class VIII.5 as control class. The instrument of this research is test of mathematic concept. The form of the test that was used is essay test. The reliability of the test is r11= 0,814. To analyze the data the researcher used T-test that used sofware Minitab in analyzing it. Based on the result of the research, it is found that both of sample with normal distribution and homogeny, the reliability is  and the result of the hipothesis is the value of P equal 0,001, . It means that the hypothesis of this research is accepted. It can be concluded that math concept understanding of the students who implement active learning strategy type listening team is better than the student who learned with onventional strategy confidence intervals  95% at SMP 15 Padang grade VIII.

Abstract

The research was motivated by the students’ comprehension of math concept are still low and the student still reluctant to work well in the group. This research aims to determine the students’ comprehension of math concept that apply Two Stay Two Stray better than students’ comprehension of math concept that apply conventional learning in class VIII MTs Ibadurrahman Lolo Kabupaten Solok. The type of research is experimental by using Randomized Control Group Only Design. The data analysis technique used is T-Test one part the help of MINITAB. The result of hypothesis test obtained P-Value = 0,003 is less than α = 0,05, then the hypothesis in this research received. In conclusion, students’ comprehension of math concept that apply Two Stay Two Stray type better than students’ comprehension of math concept that apply conventional learning.

Abstract

The research was due to the lack of student’ interest, motivation and activities during teaching and learning process. Students tent to be more individual. The teaching process was teacher-centered. The students’ understanding of mathematic concept was low. It was seen from their mathematic result. That was grade VIII students of SMPN I Basa Ampek Balai 2012/2013 year of entrance. The research aimed at understanding how far the students of grade VIII SMPN I Basa Ampek Balai understood the mathematic concep using active learning the Power of Two technique with a quiz, whether it was better than the convensional one. The design was experimental research using random sampling technique. The populasion was students of grade VIII SMPN I Basa Ampek Balai. Based on the result of random sampling tekhnique, grade VIII.4 was chosen as the experimental group, while the grade VIII.6 as the control group. The instrument used was a quiz and essay mathematic test. The reliability of the test was 0.825. Based  the data analysis, it was obtained tyhat both class were homogeny and normal. The technique analysis data used was one way to test. Based on the analysis of hypothesis using MINITAB, it was obtained that the p-value=0.002 was < α=0.05. Therefore, it can be concluded thad students’ math concept understanding using active learning The Power of Two with a quiz was better tahn that of conventional technique with the 95% degree of certainty.
