ABSTRACTÂ This study was motived by an understanding of mathematical concepts students are still low. This study aims to determine whether studentsâ understanding of mathematical concepts by applying active learning methods type course review horey better than studentsâunderstanding of mathematical concepts by applying conventional learning class VIII SMPN 23 Padang. This research was an experimental research with randomized research design of the subject.The research instrument was the final test. From of the test used was the essay with reliability=0,75. The result obtained from testing the hypothesis t = 3,5194 and t table = 1,677, because t count> t table thenIt can be concluded that the studentsâ understanding of mathematical concepts by applying active learning method type course review horey better than conventional teaching class VIII SMPN 23 Padang with a confidence level of95 %( .

ABSTRACTThis research was background by student understanding of mathematical concept still lower. This matter seen at result learn class student mathematics of VIII SMPN 1 Bayang School Year 2013 / 2014.This type of this  research is experiment. Research with random sampling techniques. Population in this research is all class student of VIII SMPN 1 Bayang school year 2013 /2014.The selected class of sampel is VIII1 as experiment class and of VIII5 as control class. Instrument used in this research is the tes of understanding of mathematical concept. Form of tes the used is form of esai with reliabilitas test is r11=0,93. Technique analyse data  used in this test is t.According to result of data analysis known that both class of sampel have normal distribution and is homogeneous at real level = 0,05. Result of hypothesis test obtained by t =2,36and ttable=1,68 hence hypothesis at this research is accepted. So that can be concluded that student  understanding of mathematical concept by applying study withactive learning type GQGA accompanied by quiz better than student understanding of mathematical concept with conventional study in class of VIII SMPN 1 Bayang.Â

ABSTRACT This research was conducted based on the fact indicating that the studentsâ understanding of mathematic concept was still low, the students canât give information with another students. The aim of this research was to improve the studentsâ understanding of mathematic concept by using chained-greeting and question technique accompanied with two stay two stray technique in class VIII of SMPN 11 Padang. This was an experimental research whose sample was chosen by random. The instruments of the research was a test on the studentsâ understanding on mathematic concept. The result of the research revealed that after the strategy applied, their understanding on mathematic concept was not better than that of students treating by using conventional learning strategy. This could be seen from the t-value is 0,829 which was smaller than t = 1,669. Thus it was concluded that the use of chained-greeting and question technique accompanied with two stay two stray technique could improve the students understanding of mathematic concept not better than that of the conventional learning.Â

ABSTRACTResearch motivated by an understanding of mathematical concepts students are still low, students are less familiar and issued an opinion, avestion and ideas in the process of learning mathematics. Study aims to determine the studentsâ understanding of mathematical concepts by learning the types of groups active learning to studentsâ understanding of mathematical concepts class seven SMP Muhammadiyah 6 Padang. This type of research is experimental, with the design of the random penelitian subbjek. Technigue of random sampling 72 grade class was selected as the axperimental and control classes of 74 grade. Instruments used in this study is a test of understanding of mathematical concepts. Used form is the essay test and it was reliable. Data analysis techniques used were mann whitney test. Based on the results of the data analysis it is known that one of the classes are not normally distributed sample. Beconcluded that the studentsâ understanding of mathematical concepts by applying active learning study group type is better than the studentsâ understanding of mathematical concepts by applying conventional learning.

                                                  ABSTRACTThe background of this research is based on the students understanding of mathematical concept which low and student do not usual to discuss study in group also. The purpose of this research is to know whether students understanding of mathematical concept by applying cooperative learning type Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD) better than students understanding of mathematical concept by applying conventional learning at class X SMAN 12 Padang. The kind of this research is experimental research which use randomly research design to subject. The population of this research is student class X SMAN 12 Padang. Class X.3 as experimental class and X.4 as control class. The instrument used in this research is final test of result mathematical concepts understanding with reability test is The technique of data analysis used is t-test. Based on the final test mathematics value student at both sample classes are gotten and ,it means that the hypothesis can be accepted because . It can be concluded that students understanding of mathematical concept by applying cooperative learning type Students Teams Achievement Division (STAD) better than students understanding of  mathematical concept by applying conventional learning at students class X SMAN 12 Padang.

ABSTRACTThe background reason of this research is the understanding of mathematical concept that still low among the 8th grade students of SMPN 4 Lembah Gumanti. The aim of this research is to know whether the understanding of the mathematical concept will be better if cooperative learning method NHT and Sucker Ball game is applied rather that the concept given in conventional way to the 8th grade students of SMPN 4 Lembah Gumanti. The type of this research is experimental research, with random research design to subject. The instrument used for this research is the mathematical concept test and the student activity observation sheet. Data analysis was done by using Mann-Whitney test. Based on the result analysis. , its given that the Zhitung= -2,995 which is smaller than Ztabel, then the hypothesis if the research is acceptable. So it is concluded that the understanding of the mathematical concept of the student will be better by using the cooperative learning method NHT and Sucker Ball game rather than the conventional way of 8th grade students of SMPN 4 Lembah Gumanti.

 The research are motivated by the mathematics conceptual understanding of the students that still low. The aim of this research to determine whether the mathtematics conceptual understanding of the students taught by using active learning strategy type Everyone is a Teacher Here (ETH) accompanied Speed Test was better than that of students tought by using conventional learning. This was an experimental research. The population of the research was the students in class VIII SMPN 2 Painan. The instrument of research was an essay posttest whose reliability was 0.83. The result hypothesis test using MINITAB software obtained P-value = 0.001 was less than α = 0.05. It can be concluded that the mathematics conceptual understanding of the students tought by using active learning strategy type Everyone is a Teacher Here (ETH) accompanied Speed Test was better than that of students tought by using conventional learning in class VIII SMPN 2 Painan.Â

Abstract The comprehension of the mathematical concept studentsâ are still low of class VIII SMPN 32 Padang becomes problem which is background this research. The purpose of this research is to know determine whether the ability of student understanding of mathematical concepts by implementing Giving Question and Getting Answer (GQGA) is better than the ability of student understanding of mathematical concepts with conventional learning class VIII SMPN 32 Padang. This research is experimental research with research design randomized on subject. The data analysis used was one way t test by using program MINITAB. Based on the calculation results obtained P-value = 0.000 is smaller than the significance level (α) = 0,05 so it can be concluded that the ability of student understanding of mathematical concepts using Giving Question and Getting Answer (GQGA) is better than the ability of student understanding of mathematical concepts with conventional learning class VIII SMPN 32 Padang.Â

ABSTRACTThis research was designed for determining whether the mathematics conceptual understanding of the students taught by using Verbal Football Strategy better than that of students taught by using conventional learning in class VIII of SMPN 28 Padang. This was an experimental research which used random toward the subject design. The data was collected by using a posttest on mathematics conceptual understanding. The result of hypothesis test showed that P-value (0,0000) was smaller than α = 0,05 indicating that the hypothesis was accepted. Thus, it was concluded that the mathematics conceptual understanding of the students taught by using Verbal Football Strategy was better than that of students taught by using conventional learning in class VIII of SMPN 28 Padang.

ABSTRACTThis research was carried out for the studentsâ low activities and ability in mathematics concept. The aim of the research was to reveal the studentsâ activities by using The Learning Cell active learning strategy and to see whether the mathematics conceptual understanding of the students taught by using The Learning Cell active learning strategy was better than that of students taught by using conventional learning in class VII I of SMPN 17 Padang. This was an experimental research. Based on the result data analysis it was found that, in general, the studentsâ activity improved in each meeting. The result of hypothesis test showed that the value of tcalculated (2,01) was higher than ttable (1,645) indicating that the hypothesis was accepted. This result signified that the mathematics conceptual understanding of the students taught by using The Learning Cell active learning strategy was better than that of students taught by using conventional learning in class VII I of SMPN 17 Padang registered in academic year 2013/2014.Â
