Abstract

Marquisa is one of favourite fruit in Indonesia. However this plant is oftenattacked by diseases, one of them is Bactrocera dorsalis. There is no information yetabout what interest Bactrocera dorsalis to marquisa does. Based on the problem, theaim of the research is effect of marquisa extrac t (Passiflora edulis varietas flavicarpa)toward Feeding Strategy of fruit fly Bactrocera dorsalis Hend. T his research wasexperimental research used cilinder Y tube method, with match treatment and includes10 repetitions. The research was conducted from October 2012 to February 2013. Theresult, show that marquisa extract have effect toward Feeding Strategy from fruit flyBactrocera dorsalis. On the searching activity, the fastest time of fruit fly reachedmarquisa was at the treatment V (75,13 seconds) although longest time was at treatmentI (256,33 seconds). On the grounding ac tivity, the fastest time of fruit fly reachedmarquisa was at the treatment V (45,23 seconds) although the longest time of treatmentI (58,7 seconds). Based on Chi-square analysis the treatment had the higher differencebetween petrogenol and marquisa extract, excepting treatment 3 ml of marquisa extractand 3 drops of petrogenol did not have real difference between petrogenol and marquisaextrac t. It cand conclude that marquisa extract had effect toward Feeding Strategy offruit fly Bactrocera dorsa lis.

Abstract

ABSTRACT             Penicillin G acylase is an enzime that catalyzes the hidrolysis of penicillin G acylase into 6-aminopenisilanat acid (6-APA). 6-APA is a basic ingredient inthe manufacture of semisynthetic penicillin. Acylase penicillin G can be by produced of microorganisms, such as fungi penisillium and various types of bacteria, such as Bacillus, Escherichia coli. Acylase penicillin G producing bakteria have been isolated from saveral rivers in the Padang city, but the identification has not been done. Associated with it to identify bacteria producing penicillin G acylase of saveral rivers in the Padang city. This research aims to determine the type of bacteria producing penicillin G acylase of saveral rivers in the Padang city. This research was conducted in July 2013 laboratory Kopertis Region X and in August 2013 in the Balai Penyidikan and Pengujian Veteriner Regional II Bukit Tinggi. Identification is carried out morphological and biochemical. The research uses desckriptive method. Results of bacterial identification by morphological and biochemical which shown that the bacteria producing penicillin G acylase of saveral rivers in the Padang city is a bacterium of the genus Bacillus.

Abstract

Epilitic algae is part of a group microperifitic algae that lives attached to the substrate (stone,coral, gravel and other hard objects). Solok Regency has Talang Mount with the beautifulnatural that can be enjoyed, this place also has a hot water source in Bukik Gadang, NagariKoto Anau, Lembang Jaya District, Solok Regency which is believed has a power to heal ortreat and as a tourism object. The temperature of hot water is about 39 – 45 ºC. The researchof epilitic algae in Bukik Gadang hot spring, Lembang Jaya District, Solok Regency in haddone Desember 2012 – Maret 2013. The purpose of this research to know the variety ofepilitic algae at different temperatures. This research has done by using a descriptive surveymethod with determining three station based on the different temperatures and sampling wasdone by purposive sampling at each station were taken three points. This research found 17species of epilitic algae consist of two classes of Bacillariophyceae and Cyanophyceae. Theclass Bacillariophyceae found 9 species and class Cyanophyceae 8 species that live attemperatures of 39 – 45 ºC, pH 7,01 – 7,50, dissolved oxygen 1,44 – 3,96 mg/l, the sulfurcontent from 0,089 – 0,105 mg/l.

Abstract

ABSTRACTPractical requires students to be able to work in the lab or in the field. By carrying out their practical acquire knowledge, understanding, and behavioral aspects of the other, and to develop the skills to live in society meaningfull. In addition, the students will find themselves contribute to arouse their interest and enthusiasm for learning. Implementation of practical activities in schools need practical guidance so that students more easily understand the material that will be practicalled. However, at school SMAN 1 Lembah Melimtang students conducting lab does not have specific guidelines or guiding practical. Accordingly, the research aimed to result a valid and practical guidance practical. This study is using a three-stage development of the 4-D models, the stage define, stage design , and development stage (develope). Test subjects were students of class XI Science SMAN  1 Lembah Melintang, amounting to 30 people. The data of this study is primary data taken from  validity and practicalities are then analyzed with descriptive analysis. Practicalities by teachers who are included in a very practical and practicalities criteria by 87.85% students with practical category. It can be conclude has produced valid and practic a guide with pictures on a cells material for class XI SMA.

Abstract

ABSTRACTSTH worm infection is more commonly infects children, especially school age, because at the age of school children are actively playing in soil contaminated by feces and lack of attention to personal hygiene.The experiment was conducted in June 2013. The method used in this study is a descriptive survey method. The population in this study were all students of SD Muhammadiyah Surau Gadang 76 people students. Sampling was done by total sampling by many students who collected the sample of 72 students. Examination of a stool sample done at the Laboratory of Biology Education Program STKIP PGRI  Sumatera Barat using the direct method.The study of elementary students Muhammadiyah Surau Gadang District Nanggalo Padang showed that 62.5% were infected with STH 45 students and are not infected with STH 37.5%. Frequency of STH infections in Muhammadiyah Surau Gadang elementary school students found 37.5% of species Ascaris lumbricoides, Trichuris trichiura 19.4%, Hookworm (Necator americanus and Ancylostoma duodenale) 5.4%. The highest frequency of STH species found in SD Muhammadiyah students Surau Gadang is Ascaris lumbricoides.

Abstract

AbstractAt the time the problem of very attractive food security of attention of related people whoand society in the round of food. Garlic as flavor used almost in each; every cookery and food in Indonesia, yielding to feel and typical aroma. Garlic mill have come to materials ready to become which enthused many by society. This research, aim to test bacteriologies at garlic mill (Alium Sativum  L.) from  some  traditional  market  in  the round of the Padang city,  which  have been conducted in June 2013 in Microbiological Laboratory of Biological Majors, University of Andalas Padang. This Research is conducted with descriptive method, intake of sample conducted by purposive sampling which is each of sample taken by two sample at 5 traditional market in at the Padang that is, Bandar Buat Market, Gaung Market, Lubuk Buaya Market, Pasar Simpang Aru, and market of Siteba. the next conducted by examination of bacteriologies by using method of MPN ( Most Probable Number) by using stages; steps 1. Test anticipation (test presumtive 2. coherent test (test confirmed 3. test completion (test completed) using method of MPN (Most Probable Number) by using combination 5:1:1. From research got by result of all of garlic sample mill to containbacterium with amount of gyration 39 x 107 cell / ml - 143x 107 cell / ml. Garlic Sample mill from five traditional market at Padang Town have gyration assess MPN bacterium of koliform 2,2 - 240 cell / 100 sample ml and bacterium E. coli 0 - 4 cell/ 100 sample ml. The conclude that garlic mill which is sold from some traditional market in at Padang City generally is improper consumed bybecause containing bacterium E. coli > 3 colony / g bacterium and g of koliform > 100 colony / g.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Muaro is one of the water bodies in which a variety of living organisms, the organism is clam shells Polymesoda bengalensis is known by the public as the seashell. The shells used by people around for a living because of the economic and nutritional value is very high. Current where abouts shellfish habitat Polymesoda bengalensis already disturbed. The most serious threat to the population is the result of harvesting clams and mussels taking excessive. Organisms that live in Muaro depending on substrate conditions and salinity, the salinity fluctuations depending on topography estuaries and tidal influence, the substrate  showed  differences  with  population densities. This factor  caused by  each type of  substrate occupied by Polymesoda bengalensis shells with different age groups. This study aimed to determine the distribution of oyster shell length and physical factors-water chemistry of mangrove clams Polymesoda bengalensis in Muaro Nipah Kecamatan Sutera Kabupaten Pesisir Selatan. The research was conducted in  January  2013  in  Muaro  Nipah  Kecamatan  Sutera  Kabupaten  Pesisir  Selatan.  Analyzes  were Polymesoda bengalensis conducted in the laboratory Animal Ecology Department of Biology, Faculty of Mathematics  and  Natural  Sciences,  Andalas  University  in  Padang,  this  determination  using  survey methods and sampling techniques using purposive systematic stratified random sampling in three locations determined by vegetation. Results of sample analysis shells Polymesoda bengalensis obtained size comparison long: thick : high = 2 : 1 : 2, there is a close relationship between the length and height with thick shells Polymesoda bengalensis. Biomass of meat is determined by the length, thickness and height shells. Length ranged shells 2.9–7 cm. Shell size distribution in strata I and III predominantly young individuals, in strata II adult individuals while on location I and III predominantly young individuals and locations II dominated by adult individuals.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Ferns are heterogens in terms of his place, there are the kinds of spikes that live on land (terrestrial), there is a ride of his life on other plants (epiphytes), and there are spikes that grow in water (higrofit). Bukit Barisan is a limestone hill forests has the conditions and rock properties that are different from other forest types. The study was conducted by survey method by direct observation and collection. From the research that has been conducted in the Bukit Barisan Forest Jorong Halalang Nagari Kamang Mudiak District Kamang Magek terrestrial obtained 12 types of nails. Nails were found grouped into two namely clasis Filicopsida and Lycopsida, two orders of the Filicalles and Sellaginellales, nine family is Adiantaceae, Dennstaedtiaceae, Gleicheniaceae, Nephrolepidaceae, Pteridaceae, Schizaeceae, Tectariaceae, Thelypteridaceae, Selaginellaceae..

Abstract

ABSTRACT This research aims to know relation of indicator, learning objectives, material and evaluation in lesson plan biology of state and private senior high school teachers in Padang. This research was a descriptive research. The research population was lesson plan that designed by state and private senior high school teachers in Padang teach at first semester of first grade,  academic year 2012/2013 amount sixteen lesson plan of state senior high school and thirty two lesson plan of private senior high school. The result of this research showed teachers lesson plan in completed criteria component of lesson plan which made by teacher state and private senior high school in Padang is 91,15% in good category. Percentage result of relation of indicator, learning objectives, material and evaluation overall is 76% with relation category that good enough.

Abstract

ABSTRACT        Learning process was the core of formal education through which the teacher, learning materials and students interacted. The first was considered as the one who played the main role especially. One of the materials which required the students to do practice was fungus topics. Related to this, teacher developed learning material which was accompanied with representative and contextual pictures in order to help the students do practicum. This research was aimed at producing a manual which was valid and practical for teaching fungus topics to the Senior High School students. This was an experimental research which referred to 4-D model. The result of theresearch  indicated that the manual which was accompanied with pictures produced was valid and very practical.
