Abstract

The purpose of this study is to explore hadiths that explain nepotism. This research is Library Research. The data sources used come from several literature and library materials related to the topic discussed. The study results show that the Hadith about nepotism narrated by Imam Ahmad bin Hanbal is of valid quality. This conclusion is based on the fact that the narrations of the hadith, as assessed by the critics, have the status of tsiqah. In addition, the hadith in question does not contradict the content of the Qur'an, namely that those who disobey Allah and His Messenger will be put in hell. The practice of nepotism that is prohibited by Islamic teachings is solely based on family or relatives’ considerations without paying attention to the ability and professionalism as well as the nature of trust of a person who will be given a position. As for nepotism it is accompanied by consideration of ability and professionalism as well as the nature of trust of a person who will be given a position, it is not prohibited.

Abstract

Passura' is a carving that is the identity of cultural performance in the Toraja people which has the characteristics of signs and conditions with meaning. Passura' is used not only for aesthetic purposes in Tongkonan houses and typical Toraja fashion and accessories but also has a meaning that is represented in the life of the Toraja people. This research with a descriptive qualitative method aims to describe the meaning and representation of meaning in the dimension of socio-cultural life, as well as the position of passura as a cultural performance in Toraja society. passura based on the perspective of its interpretation, the results of this study show that; (1) Passura' as a sign consists of shapes, colors, and types that have a complex phenomenon. The shape that becomes a sign is the shape of nature and flora and fauna, the color consists of black, white, yellow, and red, and the types are grouped in the level of passura'. Each sign represents something outside the object itself; (2) the representation of passura in Toraja life includes (a) the representation of the existence of strata and social roles or with Tana' known in Tana' Bulawan, Tana' Bassi, Tana' karurung, and Tana' Kua-kua; (b) as a representation of aluk or the rules of social life that must be carried out by all individuals and communally, because all the rules of aluk that are carried out are engraved in the form of passura'; (c) as a representation of the rules of the relationship between man and creator as well as man and nature in Toraja teachings is called aluk Tallu Lolona; (d) as a representation of the greatness, leadership, and welfare of the Toraja Community because passura describes the figure of leaders or influential figures in Toraja society; (e) Representation of the spirit of togetherness of the unity of 'karapasan'; (3) The use of Passura' as a Cultural Performance includes: (a) Passura' as a process that has undergone an evolution of types and forms because it is influenced by popular culture, economy, and tourism factors; (b) Passura is used as an awareness of identity and devotion to ancestors, (c) as a Rites of Passage because it is used in every formal event as symbolism, stories, and actions in the Tana Toraja community from time to time.

Abstract

Who would have thought that the existence of digital media could promote health to the public so quickly? Healthy and prosperous living is SDGs goal three also becomes information that circulates quickly if promoted through digital media. Is this true? Check the truth through various health communication events presented in this chapter. One of them is information about healthy living with herbs, as one of the health promotion programs by health workers who are experts in their fields. This is in line with Indonesia's local cultural heritage attached to the ancestors' tradition of using herbal plants. In addition, this phenomenon also illustrates an effort to localize the SDGs of healthy and prosperous living with herbs in Indonesia. This is interesting to study, especially in terms of knowing the efforts made to localize the SDGs of healthy living with herbs in Indonesia. Therefore, this chapter thoroughly explores the main keys in herbal health promotion programs in Indonesia, as well as unpacks the efforts to localize the SDGs of healthy living with herbs through digital collaboration & communication. The research method used is the case study method, with data collection techniques namely observation, literature study, and in-depth interviews. The results showed that the collaboration and digital communication found were diverse, ranging from the individual level and community level. Collaboration and digital communication are key in localizing the fourth point of Indonesia's SDGs, namely healthy and prosperous living. In this research, healthy living with herbs is promoted as health promotion by health workers. The digital collaboration and communication in question are shown through the existence of health promotion through digital media in the form of various social media.

Abstract

Planning in communication has an important role in a process that involves organizational goals or objectives, developing a comprehensive strategy to achieve the set targets. The aim of this research is firstly to find out the public relations communication planning of the Malaka Regency Bawaslu in optimizing the management of election information via social media, secondly to find out the Malaka Regency Bawaslu’s public relations communication planning is an important factor in optimizing the management of the election information via Facebook social media, and thirdly to find out Malaka Regency Bawaslu’s efforts to optimize the management of election information via Facebook social media were analyzed using the Four Step Public Relations theory. The research method used is qualitative with a case study approach. The data collected in this research show that the Malaka Regency Bawaslu’s public relations communication planning is carried out by determining problems, preparing programs, communicating, and conducting program evaluations. Good communication planning by the Malaka Regency Bawaslu public relations is very important in managing election information via Facebook social media because it can ensure accurate, transparent, and coordinated dissemination of election information via Facebook social media, and Facebook social media is a supporting factor in disseminating information by utilizing the media. Facebook social media as a communication medium and a medium for exchanging information with the public. The Malaka Regency Bawaslu’s efforts are to supervise the election process with the hope that the elections in Malaka regency can run according to applicable regulations and that election violations do not occur, and the Malaka Regency Bawaslu serves the community as needed by sharing all election-related information with the public via the social media Facebook.

Abstract

This study aims to: knowing the management strategy of Rakyat Sulsel Daily in creating brand awareness as a political reference newspaper in South Sulawesi; knowing the supporting factors of Rakyat Sulsel Daily management strategy in creating brand awareness. Data were analyzed using qualitative descriptive analysis. Based on the research results, it was found that: 1) There are six management strategies of Rakyat Sulsel Daily in creating brand awareness as a political reference newspaper in South Sulawesi. First, strengthening brand identity. Second, increasing visibility. Third, creating a media ecosystem. Fourth, the hyperlocal approach. Fifth, doing media convergence. Sixth, door-to-door marketing.There are three factors supporting the media management strategy of Rakyat Sulsel Daily in creating brand awareness as a political reference newspaper in South Sulawesi, namely human resource support, complete and adequate facilities and infrastructure, and the application of four management functions, namely planning, organizing, actuating, and controlling.

Abstract

Advertising has become an integral part of our lives, so that lifestyle and a wide choice in our lives are even unconsciously influenced by the messages that are suggested in the ad. However, advertising is often concerned with economic interests alone and the exclusion of moral values. Most advertising even considers the audience not as individuals but as units of consumption. That is just the target audience of consumers of the commodity traded in the advertising. By using the method of semiotic Roland Barthes, this study aims to determine the commodification of the body behind the ads New Era Boots.This study establishes the paradigm as a critical paradigm. Critical paradigm looking at the reality that there is a pseudo-reality as it is influenced by a variety of economic, political, and social power. While the theory used is the theory of the political economy of media, Lyotard. After conducting an analysis on the ads New Era Boots, the results of this study indicate a series of signifiers and signified either directly or indirectly contain elements of commodification. The series of markers that directly leads to the commodification is a sexy female model wearing skin-tight clothes and using models strapless clothes, exposing the body parts that provoke a craving audience watching it. In addition to clothing worn by a mini female model, tone of voice, and there is a wobble erotic sigh performed by a female model in television commercials, these New Era Boots clarify elements of the commodification of desire.

Abstract

This study evaluates the effectiveness of Instagram as a tax counseling medium in increasing taxpayer compliance. As an interactive visual platform, Instagram offers the convenience of conveying information that is interesting and easy to understand. This study uses a survey method with respondents from taxpayers who follow the official Instagram account of KPP Pratama Makassar Barat. The variables analyzed included the level of taxpayer compliance before and after exposure to counseling content, as well as the level of user engagement through the likes, comments, and question and answer sessions. The results of the study show that the use of Instagram has a positive and significant effect on improving compliance, especially in terms of timely reporting and tax payments. Educational content packaged in infographics and short videos has proven to be effective in attracting interest and encouraging understanding of taxpayers. User involvement through direct interaction also supports the achievement of tax education goals. The recommendations of this study emphasize the importance of optimizing relevant and easy-to-understand content to drive tax compliance through social media.Keywords: Effectiveness, Instagram, tax counseling, taxpayer compliance

Abstract

Da'wah is a communication process that is based on trust (belief) and aims to invite people to carry out the provisions of Allah SWT. Where the city of Makassar, which has a multicultural society, is a challenge for the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) in delivering its lectures to mad'u, especially the Muslim community. The type of research used in this research is qualitative research. While this type of research uses participatory action research (PAR). Determination of informants selected by purposive technique. Data collection was carried out using interview, observation, and documentation techniques. While the validity of research data using source triangulation and method triangulation. The result of this research is that the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) of Makassar City has done several forms of actualization of da'wah in multicultural society, namely delivering its da'wah in a humane way to all Muslim communities, so that the delivery of its da'wah can be accepted by every community.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the internalization of da'wah values in the religious psychological interaction between Indonesian diaspora teachers and students at Sangkhom Islam Wittaya School, Thailand. Employing a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation, and subsequently analyzed using the interactive analysis model developed by Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña. The findings reveal that the values of compassion (mawaddah) and exemplary conduct (uswah hasanah) serve as the main foundations in religious interactions. Compassion is manifested through attention, empathy, and support for students' academic and spiritual development, creating a safe space for the exploration of religious identity. Meanwhile, teachers’ exemplary behavior in daily life authentically reinforces the internalization of Islamic values within the students. This interaction not only serves as a means of knowledge transfer but also acts as a medium for the formation of students' moral character and Islamic identity. This study contributes to the development of cross-cultural da'wah communication theory and enriches the field of Islamic educational psychology studies in the context of Muslim minority settings

Abstract

This article investigates how Shaykh Yusuf al-Maqassarī’s profile, his da‘wa, and contribution, through the purification of beliefs (aqīda) of Muslims, which is inspired by the author's research in Indonesia till Leiden, the Netherlands. This article utilized a qualitative descriptive method with a comprehensive religious history approach, for describing and identifying al-Maqassarī’s profile, his da‘wa through the purification of beliefs of the Muslim community that contributes and plays an important role towards social changes in South Sulawesi. The result showed that Shaykh Yūsuf (1626-1699), a moderate ṣūfī from Eastern Indonesia who is still one of the ahl al-Bayt. He wandered to several parts of the world to deepen his understanding of Islamic mysticism. He holds the title ‘wālī quṭb al-Rabbānī wa al-'Árif al-Ṣamaḍānī’ and is well known for his Waḥdat al-Ṣamad view. He was a prolific writer, fighter, and human rights defender until his exile, initially to Ceylon, then to Cape of Good Hope, Cape Town, South Africa. Today, he has become a National Hero of Indonesia and South Africa. His main teaching is the purification of beliefs (aqīda). All practices and worship are directed to the Oneness of God and nothing else. This teaching has become the basis of his reformist ideas, to transform his animistic society into fervent Muslims, especially in South Sulawesi, and then to be implemented into his Ṭarīqat Khalwatiyyat al-Yusufiyya (Yusufiyya). This article will benefit the South Sulawesi community in particular and Indonesia in general, and be a reference for future researchers.
