Abstract

This research aim was to determine the morphometric characteristics of native chickens in the Huamual District. A total of 300 adult Kampung chickens (consisting of 150 males and 150 females) with more than 20 weeks of age were used as research samples. Analysis of qualitative traits by calculating proportions or percentages, where chickens were grouped by sex. Quantitative traits were analyzed using descriptive statistical analysis by calculating the mean, standard deviation, and coefficient of variance. In order to determine the relationship between body measurements (chest circumference, femur length, tibia length, shank length, shank circumference) and body weight of native chickens, a simple regression analysis method was used. The results showed that the qualitative traits of Kampung chickens were dominated by the color of the black plumage of the hen and the wild color of the male, white or yellow on the shank, and the form of a single comb. The average body weight of Kampong chicken was 1602.17 g, chest circumference 28.17 cm, femur length 14.96 cm, tibia length 10.71 cm, shank length 9.11 cm with a diameter of 5.01 cm in males, while females have an average body weight of 1083.75 g, chest circumference 23.37 cm, femur length 12.53 cm, tibia length 8.72 cm, shank length 8.23 with a diameter of 3.68 cm. Shank length can be used as the best and most appropriate measure to estimate the body weight of chickens, both male and female.

Abstract

The aim of this study was to determine the effect of feed supplement in the form of sugar palm pollen on the increase in colony weight of Trigona sp. The study was conducted in Lembah Sari Village, Batulayar District, West Lombok Regency, which lasted for 4 weeks from May 2020-June 2020. Ten honey bee colonies of Trigona sp. were randomly assigned to two treatment groups with five replications each according to a completely randomized design. The treatment without palm pollen was placed differently with a distance of ±600 meters from the treatment using palm pollen and the distance between replicates was ±1 meter. The stages of the research include making the hive, selecting a colony from glodok, moving the colony to the hive, placing the research hive, and placing the palm pollen. The variables observed included the number of pollen cells and colony weights. The results showed that mean values for the number of pollen cells treated without and with palm pollen treatment from weeks 1-4 were 6,2±0,45, 7,0±0,71, 9,0±0,71, 12,2±0,84 and 6,4±0,55, 8,4±1,14, 11,8±0,84, and 15,4±1,14 respectively. While the colony weight for those with or without supplement were 0,15±0,04, 0,29±0,05, 0,44±0,05, 0,64±0,06 and 0,14±0,01, 0,39±0,09, 0,53±0,03, and 0,80±0,08. The average number of pollen formed and the colony weight for those given supplement was significantly higher than those without feed supplement. Thise results indicate the important of providing feed supplement in order to sustain productivity of Trigona sp.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kecernaan in vitro (kecernan bahan kering dan kecernaan bahan organic) silase pakan komplit berbasis jerami jagung organic sebagai pakan sapi potong. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan 2 tahap. Tahap pertama adalah pembuatan silase dilaksanakan pada bulan Juni - Juli 2018 di lahan penelitian Desa Bongoime Kecamatan Tilongkabila Kabupaten Bone Bolango. Tahap kedua adalah analisis in vitro, dilaksanakan di Laboratorium Kimia dan Makanan Ternak Fakultas Peternakan, Universitas Hasanuddin, Makasar bulan Maret 2019. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap terdiri dari 4 perlakuan dan 3 ulangan. Perlakuan penelitian adalah R0 = kontrol (bahan silase tanpa pupuk), R1 = bahan silase menggunakan jerami jagung yang dipupuk dengan 100% pupuk organik, R2 = bahan silase menggunakan jerami jagung yang dipupuk dengan 50% pupuk organik + 50% pupuk anorganik, dan R3 = bahan silase menggunakan jerami jagung yang dipupuk dengan 100% pupuk anorganik. Parameter yang diukur adalah kecernaan bahan kering dan kecernaan bahan organik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan berpengaruh nyata (P<0,05) terhadap kecernaan bahan kering dan kecernaan bahan organic silase pakan komplit. Kecernaan in vitro bahan kering dan bahan organic tertinggi dicapai pada perlakuan bahan silase menggunakan jerami jagung yang dipupuk dengan 100% pupuk anorganik

Abstract

Indigofera sp. merupakan sejenis leguminosa yang berpotensi besar untuk menjadi bahan pakan alternatif sumber protein untuk melengkapi bahan pakan lainnya terhadap peningkatan produksi ayam Kampung Unggul Balitbangtan/KUB. Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui pengaruh penambahan tepung daun Indigofera sp. terhadap penampilan pertumbuhan ayam KUB umur 6 minggu sampai 14 minggu. Sebanyak 40 ekor ayam KUB digunakan dalam penelitian ini dan terbagi dalam 2 kelompok perlakuan pakan yaitu P0 : pakan komersil 70% + jagung 30% dan P1 : pakan komersil 65% + jagung 30% + tepung indigofera 5%. Data dikumpulkan dan ditabulasi menggunakan program aplikasi Microsoft Excell dan dianalisis menggunakan uji independent sample t-2 t test. Peubah yang diamati yaitu konsumsi pakan, pertambahan bobot badan, bobot badan akhir, konversi pakan dan income over feed cost (IOFC). Hasil kajian menunjukkan penambahan tepung daun Indigofera sp. 5% dalam pakan berpengaruh nyata (P<0,05) terhadap rata-rata pertambahan bobot badan sebesar 705,75 g/ekor, bobot badan akhir 1.054 g/ekor, nilai konversi pakan 4,75 dan nilai IOFC sebesar Rp. 57.340,- namun tidak berpengaruh nyata (P>0,05) terhadap konsumsi pakan sebesar 3.355 g/ekor. Kesimpulan hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan tepung daun Indigofera sp. dapat digunakan pada taraf 5% bahkan perlu ditingkatkan untuk ayam periode grower berdasarkan pertimbangan harga pakan untuk mengoptimalkan efisiensi penggunaan pakan.

Abstract

Ternak percobaan ayam Sentul sebanyak seratus ekor (bobot badan 30,05 ± 3,22 g) telah digunakan dalam penelitian ini, untuk mengkaji dampak pemberian kitosa iradiasi terhadap metalot plasma darah ayam Sentul. Sampel ayam percobaan dibagi secara acak dan ditempatkan dalam 20 flok, setiap flok terdiri atas 5 ekor, dipelihara selama 4 bulan di kandang percobaan Fakultas Peternakan Universitas Padjajaran Perlakuan. Pemberian kitosan terhadap ternak percobaan dimulai pada umur 8 minggu sampai dengan umur akhir 16 minggu. Pengujian sampel darah dilakukan di Laboratorium Fisiologi Ternak dan Biokimia Fakultas Peternakan Universitas Padjadjaran. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa adanya pengaruh kitosan iradiasi terhadap kadar metabolit plasma darah (trigliserida, kolesterol, protein total, albumin dan globulin plasma darah) ayam sentul, tetapi tidak berpengaruh terhadap glukosa darahnya, serta kitosan iradiasi berpengaruh terhadap pertambahan bobot badan dan konversi ransum ayam Sentul, tetapi tidak berpengaruh terhadap bobot dan persentase karkasnya. Level kitosan iradiasi dalam ransum yang mampu mempengaruhi secara keseluruhan kadar metabolit plasma darah (kecuali glukosa) yaitu 400 ppm dalam larutan setiap kilogram ransum.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui respon organ saluran pencernaan dan morfologi usus halus ayam lokal dengan in-ovo feeding menggunakan L-arginine. Sebanyak 375 butir telur (berat rata-rata 39-43 g) yang diperoleh dari induk ayam lokal umur 55-70 minggu di pembibitan ayam lokal komersil. Inkubator yang digunakan bertipe semi-otomatis yang memiliki ranges suhu 37-38 oC dengan kelembaban relative 65-75%. Hari ke-3 sampai hari ke-18 inkubasi dilakukan pemutaran telur 3 kali sehari pada pukul 07.00, 15.00. 23.00. Injeksi larutan L-arginine dilakukan hari ke-10 periode inkubasi pada area runcing telur dengan albumen sebagai target deposisi. Perlakuan in-ovo feeding dibagi menjadi 5 kelompok, perlakuan pertama tanpa injeksi (kontrol negatif), Perlakuan ke-2 injeksi larutan saline 0.9% (kontrol positif), Perlakuan ke-3 injeksi larutan L-arginine 0.5% (m/v), Perlakuan ke-4 injeksi larutan L-arginine 1.0% (m/v), dan perlakuan ke-5 injeksi larutan L-arginine 1.5% (m/v). setelah menetas, DOC ditempatkan pada pen yang diisi 3 ekor ayam kelamin campuran. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ileum dengan perlakuan in-ovo feeding menggunakan L-arginine lebih berat dibandingkan kontrol, hasil yang sama juga tejadi pada ukuran duodenum. Tinggi vili duodenum dan ileum mengalami peningkatan dengan in-ovo feeding menggunakan larutan L-arginine. In-ovo feeding menggunakan L-arginine 1.0% (m/v) menghasilkan respon organ saluran pencernaan yang terbaik, sedangkan morfologi usus halus terbaik dengan In-ovo feeding menggunakan L-arginine 1.5% (m/v) dari aspek tinggi vili duodenum, kedalam kripta duodenum, dan tinggi vili ileum.

Abstract

This study was conducted with the aim of knowing the effect of gestation age cows on gender and calf's birth weight in bali cattle resulting by artificially insemination (AI). The material used was 52 cows and 52 calves of bali cattle. This type of research is quantitative with analytical methods based on recording the production of bali cattle and calves produced by AI in the Bantaeng Regency. Testing the data using statistical analysis of multiple linear regression, this test is to determine the effect between gestational age of the cows on gender and birth weight calves of AI bali cattle. The results of the analysis showed that the cow gestational age and calf’s gender showed a very significant effect (P<0,01) with a negative relationship value meaning that the greater the gestational age of the parent, the gender of the calf was male. While gestational age and calf’s birth weight had significant effects (P<0,05) a positive correlation indicated that the higher the gestational age of the mother, the higher the calf's birth weight. Calf birth weight had no significant effect (P>0.05) on the gender of bali cattle AI results and showed a weak relationship

Abstract

The addition of ginger and milk powder rejected in the feed can improve the work of organs in digestion. This research was conducted with the aim of knowing the effect of adding ginger and milk powder rejected in the ration at different levels on the internal organ profile of broiler chickens. The method used in this study was a completely randomized design with a factorial pattern with 3 treatments (factor A) and 4 treatments (factor B) using 2 replications for each replication or the experimental unit containing 2 chickens. The variables measured in this study were liver weight percentage, small intestine segment weight percentage (duodenum, jejunum and ileum) and small intestine segment length percentage (duodenum, jejunum and ileum). The results showed that there was an interaction between the addition of ginger and milk powder rejected on the percentage of jejunum and ileum weight, as well as the percentage of jejunum and ileum length. The single factor addition of ginger gave a significant effect on the percentage of liver weight, the percentage of jejunum and ileum weight, and the percentage of jejunum length. the single factor giving rejected milk powder had a significant effect on the percentage of the weight of the duodenum and the percentage of the weight of the jejunum.
