Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the development of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) and know the cost, revenue, efficiency, and the turning point of SME capital coconut oil processing in District Sungai Batang. Determination of sample areas is done intentionally (purposive sampling) with consideration District of Sungai Batang is an area that is still a lot of oil processing SMEs than that seen from the trenches conditions of transport and farm roads damaged and neglected. The number of respondents for SMEs oil processing as much as 8 people entrepreneurs. improve this translation primary data and secondary data. Data was collected through observation, interviews and recording. These results indicate that during the period 2010-2014 the number of SMEs oil processing in Sungai Batang continued to decline with total growth declineed by -6.72% per year, the average total cost incurred by employers oil processing are sold in Sungai Batang for Rp.153.768, average profit earned by Rp.93.232 coconut oil businessmen. RCR SMEs oil processing an average of 1.62, which means coconut oil processing business is profitable and feasible to be developed. The turning point capital small and medium businesses already profitable palm oil processing.   Keywords: Small Medium Enterprises, Coconut Oil.

Abstract

This research was conducted in Microfinance institutions (MFI) UEK-SP Maharatu Jaya, Pekanbaru. The purpose of this study to analyze the social performance and financial performance of MFI UEK-SP during 2009-2013. Social performance was analyzed using mixed market performance indicators and financial performance was analyzed by using the 17 indicators of PEARLS. Social performance analysis show that MFI UEK-SP has achieved its mission and social objectives, was indicated the indicator of increasing of total loan volume revolving at 25.58 percent. Result also show that the highest increasing of lending revolving  is trading sector (31.00 pecent), and the increasing of poor lending volume as much as 18.13 percent. Financial performance analysis shows that the 8 ratio of PEARLS is ideal goals, that are  the ratio of current assets, loans from the outside, the capital of institutions, non-productive assets, income from loans, asset growth, net income and capital growth. While the 9 ratio of PEARLS less than ideal goals, that are the ratio of the risk reserve fund for loans negligence 1-12 months and over 12 months, outstanding loans, operating costs, non perfoaming loan, loan growth, liquidity and deposit growth stocks. Abstract

The purpose of this research are: (1) To identify the role of extension on independent small holder farmers of oil palm; (2) To know empowerment level of the farmers; (3) To analyze the aims of extension; (4) To analyze influence the role’s of extension toward empowerment and influence empowerment toward the aims of extension. This research was conducted at Betung Village and Batang Kulim Village in Pangkalan Kuras Sub District Pelalawan District. Research’s respondent was determined by purposive sampling methods with number of respondent were 120. The consideration to choose the location is the location that has active extension activities and has farmer group. Validity, reliability, outliers, normality and multicolinearity analysis has been done on the measuring instruments. To answer the first, second, and third purpose of this research using likert’s scale summated rating (SLR). To answer the fourth research purpose was using structural equation modeling (SEM) with the AMOS program. The result shows (1) The role of extension has shown quite on independent small holder farmers activity; (2) The empowerment level of farmers on the categorize quite with the extension activities as seen from empowerment human resource, productive economy, and the farmers institutional; (3) The aims of extension has quite as seen from better farming, better business and better living; (4) the role of extension has proven directly influence significantly toward level of farmer’s empowerment and the level of farmer’s empowerment has proven directly influence significantly toward reach of the role extension aims.   Key words: The role of extension, empowerments, extension aims, independent   small holder, oil palm

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the productivity, to analyze the revenue, to analyze of the households income structure, to analyze the pattern of households expenditure, and to analyze the welfare of households of the smallholder rubber plantation of ex-TCSDP development. Research was done by survey at Alam Pajang Village. Data were collected from 16 small-holders rubber farmers using purposive sampling and census technique. Analysis of the results showed that the productivity of smallholder rubber plantation as 2.56 ton/ha/year, the revenues of samallholder rubber plantation as Rp. 17,679,095.84/ha/year. The structure of household income derived from agriculture is 57.42 percent and 42.58 percent for non-agricultural income. The pattern of household expenditure shown that the food expenditure as 41.89 percent and non-food expenditures as 58.11 percent. Result also show that the household of the smallholder rubber plantation at Alam Panjang Village have the total expenditure more than 240 kg of rice equivalent. The household of small-holders rubber plantation have the total expenditure above the poverty line (Rp. 336.681/capita/month). The household welfare using the  14 indicators of relative poverty by Indonesian Statistic show that  68.75 percent household have ability to fullfill the basic need or prosperous, while 31.25 percent is almost prosperous. Abstract

The purposes of this study are to know what the roles of who already run by agricultural extension in rubber cultivation. This study was conducted at Kuntu and Teluk Paman Village Kampar Kiri District Kampar Regency. The method was used survey method with the samples were 50 farmers of 50 farmers who received counseling. The result showed that role of education has been quite instrumental in activities of non-pattern rubber farming in Kampar Kiri district seen from education, dissemination, facilitation, consultation, supervision, monitoring and evaluation. The average value of the role of education is 3,30 (quite a role), dissemination is 2,60 (quite a role), facilitation with the score 3,28 (quite a role), consultation is 3,10 (quite a role), supervision is 3.06 (quite a role) as well as monitoring and evaluation are 2,83 (quite a role), so that the average overall role of education are 3,00 (quite a role). As for the empowerment of rubber farmers in the district of Kampar Kiri, which includes human resources, productive economy, and institutional power is enough. The average value of human resources is 3,20 (quite helpless), the productive economy is 3,11 (quit helpless) and institutional 3,35 (quite helpless ). So that, the average of the empowerment is 3,22 (quite helpless).   Keywords: The role of education, empowerment, independent rubber farmers

Abstract

This research was aimed to analyze influence of production factors to without seed watermelon production at Pekanbaru City, analyzed economic efficiency of production factors who did by farmer in industrialist farmer at Pekanbaru City, to know the problems who were appear by farmer in without seed watermelon industrialist farmer at Pekanbaru City. This research was doing at Pekanbaru City which were located  in 4 district who were watermelon yield that were Tampan District, Tenayan Raya District, Rumbai District and Rumbai Pesisir District. This research was doing about 4 month, which was used survey method, sample taken by convenience random sampling method. The analysis used to know influence of production factors to without seed watermelon productions were Cobb-Douglas production function analysis, along with economic efficiency analysis. From this research gotten result production function of Cobb-Douglas showed that watermelon production were seed, animal fertilizer, NPK fertilizer, KCL fertilizer, Za fertilizer, pesticide, and labor. In an economic manner showed that efficiency value of seed and Za fertilizer not efficient, until need to using decrease in order to gotten efficiency by economic. Meanwhile KCL fertilizer still didn’t get efficiency in an economic manner with (NPM/Px > 1) until the use of KCL fertilizer still need to increase. At this research generally problem often farmer met in watermelon industrialist farmer was production tool procurement (fertilizer), and then unpredictable weather with high fall on rain. Abstract

Cooperative of Panca Eka Tama has significant role in improving its members’ economy through various activities. Evaluation on the cooperative performance is an interesting topic to show how the cooperative run their business to improve the welfare of its members. The objective of this study is to analyse the performance of Panca Eka Tama Cooperative using financial ratio analysis, economic value added analysis, and financial analysis of cooperative during the last five years. This study using a case study method. Primary data were collected from the chairman, staffs and members of the cooperative while the source of secondary data were collected from related government and private institutions. The result of the study shows that the liquidity tends to vary in a positive way while the solvability declines gradually. However, the profitability and activity ratios of the cooperative fluctuated in a negative direction. The manager of the cooperative must take into account these financial indicators in order to make necessary actions to improve the cooperative’s performance.   Keywords: financial performance, liquidity, solvability, profitability, and activity

Abstract

Determination of the sample area was randomly (random sampling) with consideration District of Enok is an area that is still a lot of oil processing SMEs than that seen from the trenches conditions of transport and farm roads were damaged and neglected. The number of respondents for SMEs oil processing as much as 12 businessmen. The data used are primary data and secondary data. Data was collected through observation, interviews and recording. These results indicate that during the period 2010-2014 the number of SMEs in the district of palm oil processing Enok continued to decline with total growth declined by -20.67% per year, the average total cost incurred by employers oil processing are sold in the District of Enok by Rp.87.503,25, while efforts for household consumption of Rp.24.438,89. The average profit earned coconut oil entrepreneur who sold for Rp.71.712,25, coconut oil sold for consumption if the average profit of Rp.-1909.67. RCR oil processing SMEs that sold an average of 1.80, which means coconut oil processing business is profitable and feasible to be developed, while RCR SMEs oil processing for the needs of an average household of 0.90 which means that the coconut oil processing SMEs loss and does not deserve to bedeveloped. The turning point capital coconut oil processing business sold already profitable, while the turning point coconut oil processing business capital for household consumption losses. Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the attitudes of consumers towards the purchase of apples and pears imported. This research was conducted at the fruit market sudirman Pekanbaru. The sampling method in this study using the technique of Accidental Random Sampling with a sample of 100 respondents. Data analysis methods used in this study is a model of Multi-Attribute attitude Fisbien and analysis of the Cartesian Diagram. Based on the results of research conducted, showed that overall consumer attitudes toward the value of apples and pears imported categorized well, amounting to 119.60 on imported apple fruit, the pear imports amounted to 124.26. This case shows the tendency of consumers to consume apples and pears imported. consumer attitudes toward the purchase of apple and pear fruit imports showed that consumers believe the attributes of vitamins, health benefits, taste and ease of obtaining is an attribute that most believed.   Keywords: Consumers Attitude, Imported Fruit, Fruit MarketSudirman

Abstract

The leading sector can ascendant to economic structured change. The process of change in the economic structure characterized by, the decline in the share of the primary sector, the increase in the share of the secondary sector and the share of the tertiary sector. The purpose of the analyze is identify of the leading sector and the shift of economic structure change at Regency Kepulauan Meranti period 2008-2012. The analytical tool used is the shift fshare analysis (SS) and the method of location quotient (LQ). The data used are secondary data obtained from the Central Statistics Agency. Observational result that becomes to leading sector at Kepulauan Meranti regency with migas which is agricultural sector, processing industry, electricity, gas and fresh water, commerce, hotel and restaurant. Meanwhile without migas which is agricultural sector and commerce, hotel and restaurant. The economic structure in Kepulauan Meranti regency has shifted from the primary sector to the secondary sector, although the rate of shifts is still relatively small, characterized by the percentage contribution of the primary sector has declined, while the contribution of the secondary sector and the tertiary increased.   Key Words: Leading Sectors, Location Quotion, Shiftshare, Economic Structure
