Abstract

This study aims to analyze the productivity, to analyze the revenue, to analyze of the households income structure, to analyze the pattern of households expenditure, and to analyze the welfare of households of the smallholder rubber plantation of ex-TCSDP development. Research was done by survey at Gumanti Village. Analyzing the structure of household expenditure Ex-UPP rubber farmers in the village TCSDP Gumanti District of Peranap, Analyzing household welfare level of Ex-UPP rubber farmers in the village TCSDP Gumanti District of Peranap. This Research with survey method and sampling of 30 samples. Analysis of the results showed that the productivity of smallholder rubber plantation as 3.047 ton/ha/year, equivalent in the form of revenue latex and rubber plantations ex TCSDP Rp. 902 977 / pc / month. The structure of household income derived from agriculture is 51.08 percent and 48.92 percent for non-agricultural income. The pattern of household expenditure shown that the food expenditure as 41.15  percent and non-food expenditures as 58.85 percent. Result also show that the household of the smallholder rubber plantation at Gumanti Village have the total expenditure more than 240 kg of rice equivalent. The level of household welfare rubber farmers in the village Gumanti in absolute poverty approach is at peace tingkar where income per capita per month is greater than the poverty line Indragiri Hulu and the relative poverty approach is based on 14 indicators of fulfillment of basic needs of 58.85 percent are in prosperous category that fulfill 1-3 indicators of poor condition and the rest are in the category of most prosperous that fulfill 4-8 indicator of poor conditions at 46.67 percent. Abstract

  The fisheries sector(which is madeup of capturefisheries and aquaculture) is one of the most important household economics in Kabupaten Kampar, both from economic and social standpoints. The fisheries, particularly catfish, have also significant role in supplying community’s consumption for animal protein in the area, increasing fishermen revenue, and providing employment opportunities. Given the nature of the fishery products as a perishable product, the most common method to preserve the fish is by smoking the fish. The smoked fisheries industry further supports almost 12 % of households (directly and indirectly), and contributes to the livelihood, employment, and household food security, especially forcommunities live along the Kampar’s Delta. Currently, several fisheries small-holder’s enterprises were assisted by The Agribusiness Incubator, University of Riau, in terms of processing, packaging, and marketing techniques. This research was aimed to study marketing and behavioural analysis of smoked catfish produced by the enterprises. Most of the respondents are at productive age (15-54 years), with a high school education or equivalent level, and the average amount of revenue per month ranged between Rp. 2,600,000 to Rp. 5,000,000.  The respondent’s family members are in the category of small (2-3 people). The respondents mostly purchase the smoked catfish directly to the Wholesale/Dealer/Collector. The respondent’s purchasing decision is mostly affected by the following product attributes: packaging, point of sale location, and service offered by the seller. Plotting the product’s attributes in the Cartessian diagram shows that the first quadrant is filled by the following attributes: product’s aroma, brand, price, and smoked fish color. The second quadrant is described by hygienic properties, weight per pack, taste, and saltiness property. Meanwhile, for the third quadrant is positioned by the products’s nutrition information and labeling; as well as for the fourth quadrant is the location of sales, service sales, and forms of packaging. Based on the analysis of Fishbein’s Multiatributes, the respondent’s attitude is considered as fairly-good on the multiattributes categorical approach. Abstract

This study aims to determine the adoption innovation and to know the level of adoption innovation of palm farmer for the Integration Systems of Palm Oil Cattle Programs (SISKA) in Kampar. The data collection method using survey methods. The population in this study were farmers who applied SISKA’s program and farmers who no longer apply SISKA’s program. The samples of this technique are 31 persons, including respondents who applied and had not apply SISKA’s program. Analysis data used descriptive method. Variable characteristics of farmers and adoption of innovation analyzed using Likert Scale. The results showed that the Innovation Adoption Program (SISKA) by knowledge stages in average category, persuasion stage in average category, decision stage divided into two parts, the decision adopting included in low category, decision not to adopting included in average category. Implementation stage classified in very low category and at the confirmation stage in very low category. The level of innovation adoption by the farmers against SISKA program in Kampar obtained with low category.     Keywords: Adoption, Innovation, Integration, Farmers

Abstract

The purpose of this research are: (1) To identify the role of extension on independent small holder farmers of oil palm; (2) To know empowerment level the farmers; (3) To analyze toward of the aims extension; (4) To analyze influence the role’s of extension toward empowerment the farmers and influence empowerment toward the extension aims. This research was conducted at Bhakti Makmur Village and Lubuk Jawi Village in Bagan Sinembah Sub District Rokan Hilir District. Research’s respondent was determined by purposive sampling methods with number of respondent were 120 respondent’s. The location of the research choosen has active extension activities and has farmer group. Validity, reliability, outliers, normality and multicolinearity analysis has been done on the measuring instruments. Data’s analysis to answer the first, second, and third research purpose scale likert’s summated rating (SLR) was used. And to answer the fourth research purpose structural equation modeling (SEM) with the AMOS program was used. The results shows:  (1) The role of extension has shown quite role on independent small holder farmers activity; (2) The level of farmer empowerment is the categorized quite empowerment with the extension activities as seen from empowerment human resource, productive economy, and the farmers institution; (3) The aims of extension has reached as seen from better farming, better business and better living; (4) the role of extension has proven directly influence significantly toward level of farmer’s empowerment and the level of farmer’s empowerment has proven directly influence significantly toward reach of the role extension aims.   Key words: The role of extension, empowerments, the role of extension aims, independent small holder, oil palm

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to know the degree participant of members Milik Bersama cooperation in Bukit Lingkar, Batang Cenaku in indragiri hulu regency. This research used survey method. The total of sample this research was 42 people who gain by using formula slovin. This research was using random sampling. The sample found randomly from 889 members Milik Bersama cooperation. The collecting data of this research was using primary data and secondary data. To analyze the degree and the problems at participation of this research was using descriptive method. To obtain the degree of participation of getting result at meeting, implementation of participant in cooperation activities, participant to gain the function of service, and evaluation of programs cooperation. The degree of members participation measured by using quesioner of Likert Scale. The degree participant  of members Milik Bersama cooperation in Bukit Lingkar, Batang Cenaku, Indragiri Hulu Regency was high with score 3,64. High of the degree participant on members Milik Bersama Cooperation support by high participant members on meeting, implementation, service, also evaluation programs of cooperation. In another side, the programs Milik Bersama Cooperation in Bukit Lingkar, Batang Cenaku, Indragiri Hulu Regency had some problems that related by the degree of participant were pasif on cooperation activities, attendance, lack gave ideas on meeting, less armada dum truck, and participant on activity and evaluation of programs Milik Bersama Cooperation.   Key Words: The Degree of Participant, Cooperation, KUD Milik Bersama.

Abstract

This research aims to analysis outpouring time of women farm workers in family and factor-factor that effect to working hours, to knows role of women farm workers in decision-making in the family. Analysis contribution income of women farm workers toward family’s income. The research used a survey of random sampling method and sampling as many as 36 ​​samples. Analysis of the data using Ordinary Liest Square (OLS) and analysis of income. The results showed that the average working hours of economic is high at 5,62HKP/day and compared to average of non economic working hours of women are only 4,74 HKP/day. Contribution income of woman farm workers in rubber plantation toward family’s income is 40,00%, and she is capable can in helping family economy. . Keywords: Outpouring of time, family income

Abstract

The livestock and fishery sector are very important in the economy Riau Province as industrial raw material providers, employers, providers of food and source of income. This study aims to analyze the role of livestock and fishery sectors to the economy of Riau Province through input-output structure of the review. The data used is data input-output Riau Province 2012 with 18 x 18 sector classification sourced from the Bappeda of Riau Province. The Analytical method used is descriptive analysis method. The analysis showed: first,thelivestock and fishery sector contributed to the economy of high enough Riau Province. Livestock and fishery sectors contributes high arethe marine fish and other marine product sector, ground fish and other ground fish sector, livestock and other livestocks. Second,forming component output of livestock and fishery sector is driven by consumption, followed by intermediate output and export. Third, in term of input, component input of livestock and fishery sector is driven by producer surplus, followed by intermediate input and wage-salary. To encourage economic growth in the livestock and fishery sector and increase consumption and investment directly or indirectly.Effort to improve the investment indirectly trough the accumulation from accumulation of capital from producer surplus Keywords:   the role of livestock and fishery, input-output table, consumption, producer surplus.

Abstract

Highest productivity and cheapest price among vegetable oils has motivated manufacturers to use palm oil as principle ingredient in their products. While there are various derivative products of palm oil, demand for palm oil increase significantly. In line with higher price of oil palm fruits, the growers respond with land expansion to meet the demand of palm oil. However, massive expansion of oil palm plantations has generated various negative social and  environment impacts including deforestation, biodiversity loss, forest fires, and social conflicts. These issues have motivated private international organizations to mitigate the effects of land expansion by establishing the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) certification. All growers and stakeholders have to comply with the RSPO standard to be included in the palm oil supply chain. The smallholders face the most challenging effort to meet the standard and to obtain the RSPO certificate. The objective of this study is to evaluate the performance of scheme smallholders and to assess their compliance to the standard of RSPO. Data were collected through a survey on 70 sample from 224 members of the population. The data were analysed using farm business analysis and assessment on the application of RSPO Principles and Criteria. The result shows that the average farm income from oil palm plantation is Rp 16.443.449,- per year/ha or Rp 1.370.287,- per month/ha.
