Abstract

Objective of this research are to analyze market structure and market conduct at Kuantan Singingi area. Survey method and sample determination of this research in accordance with purposive sampling by using criteria 1-3 ha area with rubber plants life around 10-30 years. Market seller determinated by using Snow ball Sampling method with sample 48 farmer. The result, ojol market acces at Kuantan Singingi area mostly consist of  from two acces. Farmer sell the ojol through tauke and cooperative. Market structure at tauke level has oligopsoni conduct at moderate concentration with concentration rasio below 80% that is 69,69% and market structure at factory level has oligopsoni conduct at high concentration that is 84,04% and index Herfindahl value <1. Market conduct from market integrity show uncomplete, while transmition elasticity has value around 0,865 that show inelastis because it’s <1 and that’s show oligopsoni strength and it’s caused price increment.   Key words: Market Structure, Market Conduct, oligopsoni.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the productivity, revenue, households income structure, pattern of households expenditure, and welfare of households of the smallholder rubber plantation of ex-TCSDP development. Research was done by survey at Bina Baru Village. Data were collected from 30 small-holders rubber farmers using purposive sampling. Analysis of the results showed that the productivity of smallholder rubber plantation as 2.39 ton/ha/yearequivalent lump, the revenues of samallholder rubber plantation as Rp. 22.602.447/ha/year. The structure of household income derived from agriculture is 87,59 percent and 12,41 percent for non-agricultural income. The pattern of household expenditure shown that the food expenditure as 38,58percent and non-food expenditures as 61,42 percent. Result also show that the household of the smallholder rubber plantation at Bina Baru Village have the total expenditure more than 320 kg of rice equivalent. The household of small-holders rubber plantation have the total expenditure above the poverty line (Rp.336.681/capita/month). The household welfare using the  14 indicators of relative poverty by Indonesian Statistic show that  66,67 percent household have ability to fullfill the basic need or prosperous, while 33,33 percent is almost prosperous. Abstract

Rubber is one of the biggest living people of Riau. Most of the existing rubber plantations in Riau owned by non-farmers, who cultivated only on a small scale, unlike the case with a rubber plantation owned by the government or private parties. Not match results and widely owned by farmers, the government provides one solution to increase the productivity of farmers' production. The purpose of this study was to determine the roles of what is already run by agricultural extension in rubber farming in District XIII Koto Kampar Kampar District. Koto Kampar District XIII with an area of ​​smallholder rubber plantation in 2012 covering an area of ​​14.226 Ha chosen as the study site because it is a district with the largest non-pattern rubber plantation in Kampar regency. This research was conducted in the Village and Village Inscribed Stone Mountain Youngest District XIII Koto Kampar Kampar District. This method uses survey methods and data analysis performed by quantitative descriptive analysis using Likert scale. The results showed that the role of education has been less a role in the activities of non-pattern rubber farming in District XIII Koto Kampar Kampar District. Judging from education, dissemination, facilitation, consultation, supervision, monitoring and evaluation. The average value of the role of education is 2,73 (Self Serve), socialization is 2,62 (Self Serve), facilitated by 2.32 value (less a role), consultation is 2,26 (Less Acting), supervision of 2,38 (Less role) as well as monitoring and evaluation were 1,60 (Very Less role), so that the average overall role of education that 2,32 (Less Contribute).   Keywords: The role ofeducation, empowerment, independent rubberfarmers

Abstract

The purpose of this research are: (1) to know the intrinsic motivation of cocoa farmers to joined with Tanjung Subur Farmer Group; and (2) to know extrinsic motivation of cocoa farmers to joined with Tanjung Subur Farmer Group. This research carried out by survey method to 27 cocoa farmers who have became members of Tanjung Subur Farmer Group in Kapalo Koto Village South Payakumbuh District Payakumbuh City. Data analysis was done quantitative descriptively and used Likert’s Summated Rating Scale (SLRS). The result showed that the intrinsic motivation of cocoa farmers to joined with Tanjung Subur Farmer Group consists of responsibility, advancement, achievement, and rewards who categorized as “High” with a total score of 3,70. Responsibility and advancement indicators with a score of 4,21 categorized “Very High”, achievement indicator with a score of 3,10 and rewards indicator with a score of 3,27 categorized “High Enough”. The extrinsic motivation of cocoa farmers to joined with Tanjung Subur Farmer Group consists of compensation, status, supervision, and competition who categorized as “High” with a total score of 4,04. Compensation and status indicators with a score of 4,20 categorized “Very High”, supervision indicator with a score of 4,09 and competition indicator with a score of 3,27 categorized “High Enough”   Keywords: Cocoa farmer, Farmer group, intrinsic motivation, extrinsic motivation

Abstract

The purpose of this study were to determine the amount of production costs, the added value and income of the entrepreneur crispy chips tempe Bu Siti  in Buluh Rampai village, Seberida district Indragiri Hulu Regency. This research was conducted from April 2014 until July 2014. The data collection technique was case method to agroindustry entrepreneur of crispy chips Bu Siti in Buluh Rampai village. The analysis scopes of this research were costs, revenue, and added value analysis. The results of this research showed that at Mei 2014 the total cost crispy chips tempe was Rp. 27.544.183. Revenue to entrepreneur was Rp.36.064.161,50 and profit to entrepreneur was Rp.8.519.978,17. Profitability value meant that crispy chips tempe was a profitable industry because the value of profitability 1,31 Ratio of R/C value meant that every Rp.1,00 costs in the production process of crispy chips tempe will provide Rp.1,31 income. The added value of crispy chips tempe was Rp. 17.809,49/kg.   Keywords: chrispy chips tempe, agroindustry, efficiency, added value

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the effective extension of media used by farmers in the cultivation of rubber (Hevea brasiliensis) and goal attainment white root fungus control counseling viewed from the aspect of knowledge, attitude and skills of farmers in the village of Gunung Bungsu XIII Koto Kampar subdistrict, as well as analyzing media relations counseling towards the achievement of objectives in the Village of Gunung Bungsu extension XIII Koto Kampar subdistrict. The number of samples taken as many as 74 people from 14 farmer groups interviewed as respondents. Retrieval technique is purposive sampling of respondents. Data analysis was done descriptively and then converted to Likert Scale's Summated Rating (SLR) and Rank Spearman. The results showed that the use of agricultural extension media field (PPL) is more effective than the media leaflets and goal attainment extension as seen from the aspect of knowledge, attitudes and skills achieved enough. PPL media relations with the achievement of the objectives of extension seen from the aspect of knowledge has the power of a very strong relationship with a correlation value is 0,833 while media relations leaflet with the achievement of the objectives extension as seen from the aspect of knowledge has a low correlation with the strength of the correlation is 0,236.   Key words: effectiveness, media outreach, rubbers farmer, and controlling white root fungus

Abstract

Agriculture Marketing is all commerce agent activities who connective the movement of agriculture food materials processed and raw material and also supply and demand, strarting from agriculture conducting until to final consumer, where this activities have an effect on to farmer, comission agent and factory. The purposes of this research are to analyse: rubber marketing channel, margin, and efficiency at self-supporting farmers in Pangkalan Kuras District Pelalawan Regency. This research started from February 2015 till July 2015. The research method who used in this research is survey method. The samples in this research used purposive sampling method with criteria of  rubber crop age ranging from 17-19 years old. Intake of sample to compiler and rubber factory used snowball sampling method by following it marketing channel. The result showed that only there were one marketing channel at self-supporting pattern that was from farmer - small compiler/agent - big compiler - factory. Ojol price buy which have been accepted by self-supporting rubber farmers equal toRp.6.172,32/Kg. Total value of margin marketing equal to Rp.1.527,68/Kg with total cost of marketing equal to Rp.1.538,83/Kg and marketing efficiency equal to 19,98 percent.   Keywords:Self-supporting pattern, marketing channel, margin, efficiency.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to know the structure and sources of palm oil farmers’income pattern of plasma in Kerubung Jaya village of Batang Cenaku district of Indragiri Hulu regency, know the distribution and lameness of income the palm oil farmers patern of plasma in Kerubung Jaya village of Batang Cenaku district of Indragiri Hulu regency. The research method used was survey with the sample taken used by Slovinand Proportionalrandom sampling. The sample of research was 87 farmers pattern of plasma. Analysis ofthe data used the Gini Index Ratioand the Lorenz Curve. The results showedthat, farmers’ incomes tructure of the sample consists of the agricultural sector (80.28%) and non-agriculture (19.72%) and the source of the sample farmers' income derived from the principal revenue (oil palm plantations) and there venueside (oil palm non plasma, non official employees, trade, employers, services, and others). Distribution and sample farmers' income in equalityis relatively low (quite evenly), with a ratio Gini index value of 0.15 for oil palm plantations patters of  plasma and 0.26 for total income, which both line of Lorenz Curve approaching the diagonal line (line equalization).   Keywords:Palm Oil, Kerubung Jaya, The Structure of Income, Income Distribution.

Abstract

Conflict is an unavoidable fact of life and often creative. Conflicts occured when the purpose of society is not the same way. Various of disagreements and conflicts can usually be resolved without violence, and often by results in better situation for most or all of the parties involved. The purpose of this study to know perceptions and expectations of Tani Saiyo Cooperative towards conflict by PT. Citra Riau Sarana in Perhentian Luas District of Logas Tanah Darat Regency of Kuantan Singingi. Determination of the respondents used is key informan. Determination of sample conducted census sampling by thorough sampling techniques. Respondent was taken only 30 members of Tani Saiyo Cooperative as sample. The techniques of data collection used the method of survey. The data has beenob tained qualitative descriptive. The tabulation has done by making distribution of respondents from each of the variables studied. To describe perception variables conflict towards Tani Saiyo cooperative was used 5W+1H. While, expectation variable Scale of Liker's Summated Rating (LSR) was used. The results showed that:(1) Perceptions of Tani Saiyo Cooperative in Perhentian Luas Village has understanding of conflict issue by measured of perception towards of the conflict understanding, perceptions of understanding of the  perpetrators purposes of conflict and perception of conflict perpetrators. (2) Expectations of Tani Saiyo cooperative towards of conflict in the category of high expectations with the score 3,60 as measured from goal, pathway thinking and agency thingking. Abstract

Land fires in Rokan Hilir still occur every year, especially during the dry season. Which one of area who fired-prone land is village of TanjungLeban, district of Kubu regency of  Rokan Hilir. The purpose of this study was to analyze perception farmers of palm oilof the burning land in of social aspects. This study was conducted in February-August 2015. The results showed fires in district of Kubu mainly caused Social factors: lower of public education, lower of participation by local people to prevent the forest fires, while the indicator of the relationship between citizens, do not be a factor fires in Village of Tanjung Leban district of Kubu. Efforts are being madepublicto prevent fires wason a routine patrol, cleaning ditchesand drainage emains, make dams ditches parent, preparation tools anticipation of fire.   Keywords: perception, burning land, farmers
