Abstract

Abstract: This was an action research which conducted at SMPN 6 Tambang and started on April 2014 and ended on June 2014. The subject of this research was the first year students of SMPN 6 Tambang, particularly VII 1 consisted 22 students. The specific objective of this research is to know whether or not the use of two-stay-two-stray method can improve the students’ speaking ability and to know the factors cause the improvement. Besides, the researcher asked the collaborator to observe the process of the teaching and learning process by using the observation sheets prepared by the research. There were two kinds of research instruments used in this research which were test and observation. The test was used to collect the quantitative data and the observation sheet was used to collect the qualitative data.After accomplishing this research, the researcher concludes that the use of two-stay-two-stray method can improve the students’ speaking ability. It was clearly proven by the improvement in average score of the student from 45,45 (Pre-test) up to 62,85 (Post – test 1), then up to 78,36 (post-test 2). Moreover, based on the qualitative data that collected by the observer, the dominant factors caused the improvement of the students ability in speaking ability is the activeness of the students. Furthermore, by implementing two-stay-two-stray method, the students’behavior changed gradually from the ‘teacher-centered’ learning to ‘students-centered’ learning because they were allowed to work in group and help each other. In addition, this method also influenced the students to be more active while studying with two-stay-two-stray since they were free to express their idea about the text. Therefore, it was concluded that the use of two-stay-two-stray method could improve the students’ speaking ability. Keywords :  Speaking ability, Two-Stay-Two-Stray method

Abstract

Abstract: This research background by the nationalist flavor differences between ethnic Chinese students with students who are ethnic Malays, who are ethnic Malay necessarily use basic characteristics in daily life the character of nationalism. However, students who are ethnic Chinese have a different character is a character that is still used strictly in the household environment and daily life. Vocabulary of the language is very different from the Indonesian. So writer take the title "Comparison Between Character Nationalist Chinese Students Beretis With Ethnic Malay Class XI student of SMAN 2 Dabo Singkep Academic Year 2013-2014". Formulation of the problem in this research is the nationalist character How significant differences between ethnic Chinese students with ethnic Malay students? This study aims to determine how the nationalist character differences between ethnic Chinese students with ethnic Malay students. The sample consists of all students in grade XI, both grade IPA and IPS SMAN 2 Dabo Singkep which amounted to 140 students and 118 students were taken. Data collection instruments, namely a questionnaire consisting of 39 questions. Data were analyzed using t-tests. Based on the analysis of research data obtained from SMA Negeri 2 Dabo Singkep, there are no significant differences. In other words, the nationalist character of ethnic Chinese students with ethnic Malay students is the same as karegori very strong, t = 1.26 <t table 1,658. Thus Ho accepted. Abstract

Abstract: This study background of the lack of a sense of nationalist, students forget the identity of his own nation, more individualistic and hedonism. This is because students are not able to filter out the influence of modernization that has penetrated into every aspect of life. So writer take the title "Influence of Modernist Perspective on Nationalism on Student Behaviour SMA Negeri 1 Bantan". Formulation of the problem in this research is a modernist perspective How does the behavior of nationalism in the students of SMAN 1 Bantan. This study aims to determine the effect on the behavior of nationalism modernist perspective on students SMA Negeri 1 Bantan. The sample consists of all students of class X, students of class XI and XII CLASS IPS SMAN 1 Bantan. Students who numbered 358 students and was taken by 20% to 72 students. Data collection instruments, namely a questionnaire consisting of 42 questions, 23 questions for the variables X and Y. 19 questions for variable data were analyzed using linear regression. Based on data analysis, there is significant influence on the behavior of nationalism modernist perspective on students SMA Negeri 1 Bantan, this is evidenced by a series of simple regression test between the variables X and Y, obtained F count 7.51 and 3.98 F table value obtained from the study of the distribution list F table with N = 72, at significance level of 5%, thus F count > F table, or 7.51> 3.98. Thus the hypothesis in this study is accepted that there is the influence of the modernist perspective on the behavior of nationalism in the students of SMAN 1 Bantan. Abstract

Abstract, This research conducted to determine whether there is any influence bench dip  exercise  on the arm and shoulder muscles power for Teratai Tennis Club Pekanbaru, so when the players do forehand technic they get maximum results. Themethod ofthis research is experimental treatment (Experimental research), with in this research Teratai Tennis Club Pekanbaru.This population in this research is the players of Teratai Tennis Club Pekanbaru and the sample is a  6 members. Expanding dynamometer test as the instrument, which is designed to measure the strength of the arm and shoulder muscles. Then the data is processed with statistics, lilifors test with 0,05α significant level for normality test. The influence of bench dip exercise on arm and shoulder muscles strength as the hyphothesis. Based on the T analysis produces TTest at 22.24 and TTable 2.015 means TTest> TTable. Based on the analysis of statistical data, 17.50 is the average of Pree-test and 22.17 the average post-test.  So, the data is normal. In conclusion, there is any influence of Bench Dip exercise on the arm and shoulder muscles strength for Teratai TennisClub Pekanbaru. Keywords: Bench Dip, arm and shoulder muscles strength.

Abstract

Abstrak:Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pelaksanaan evaluasi tingkat pencapaian perkembangan anak usia dini di TK se-Kecamatan Payung Sekaki Kota Pekanbaru. Populasi dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 103 orang guru. Sampel dalam penelitian ini ditentukan dengan menggunakan rumus Slovin berjumlah 81 orang guru. Adapun teknik pengumpulan data yaitu angket dalam bentuk skala likert. Teknik analisis data menggunakan rumus persentase. Dari hasil penelitian diperoleh pelaksanaan evaluasi tingkat pencapaian perkembangan anak usia dini di TK se-Kecamatan Payung Sekaki Kota Pekanbaru secara keseluruhan dan mencakup seluruh indikator memperoleh persentase sebesar 79,09 tergolong kategori baik berada pada kategori penilaian antara 66-79% yang dikategorikan “Baik”. Maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa pelaksanaan evaluasi tingkat pencapaian perkembangan anak usia dini di TK se-Kecamatan Payung Sekaki Kota Pekanbaru berada pada kategori baik. Abstract

Abstract: The research is a classroom research that was conducted based on the problem occurred at the eighth grade students of SMP 34 Pekanbaru at studying the improvement on the ability of the eighth grade students of SMP 34 Pekanbaru in speaking in making information questions. Besides, knowledge in making information questions is mostly improved after being taught by information gap activity method. The participants were 34 students from VIII 2 of SMP 34 Pekanbaru. This research was conducted in two cycles. The data collection technique was obtained through (1) observation sheet which was applied to know the students and teacher performance during the teaching and learning process, (2) test was done to measure students’ achievement, and (3) field note was obtain information about teacher, the students activities and performance in the teaching and learning process during the implementation of picture series. The research finding can briefly explain as follow: first the student’s students speaking ability could be improved by using information gap activity method. Before the research was done, the average score of students was only 35.92 in pretest. After the research was done for cycle 1, it improved to77.19. Then, In cycle 2 increased up to 85.5. The observation sheet and field note result showed that the used of information gap activity make the teaching process more effective and it also helped students’ improve their speaking ability and more active in learning process. This improvement happened because this information gap activity method is appropriate to be applied to the class.Keyword: information gap activity, information questions, students’ speaking ability

Abstract

Abstract: The aim of this classroom action research was to know whetheror not snowball throwing strategy improve the reading comprehension of the second year students of MTS Al-Muslimun Sei-Kijang.The subjects of this research were27 second year students of MTS Al-Muslimun Sei Kijang. In this research, the data were collected through three ways: test, observation sheets, and field notes. The findings showed that the application of snowball throwing strategy can improve students’ reading comprehension in recount text. At the pre-test, the average score of students was59,85 and got improve after the treatment on the first cycle became 63,23 and improved at the secondcycle became 73,04. Based on the result of the research, English teachers are suggested to use snowball throwing strategy to improve students reading comprehension. Abstract: Interest Nias are people who live in the customs and cultures are still high. Nias communities have many cultural one of which is the procedure for a wedding, Wedding in Nias community is very sacred. One important requirement is to pay honesty marriage or dowry. The purpose of this research is to know What are the requirements in the society wedding of Nias village Onowaembo.Untuk know What are the factors that affect the way the people of Nias village wedding Onowaembo.Untuk know how is the wedding procedures performed by the people of Nias village Onowaembo. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative method. When the study as from the start until the proposal seminar thesis examination. Results from this study is that the marriage ceremony is the Nias community is one of the cultural diversity that comes from Nias tribe. Before choosing a mate advance notice requirements that must be met before the wedding because if these conditions are not met there will be no wedding meal. Marriage in Nias community is also very closely related to the economic, social, especially education. Nias society wedding ceremony begins with the election of a mate (famaigi niha) that were once found a new soul mate is done with the next event, before the wedding ceremony consists of six stages, a wedding ceremony consists of 5 stages and after the wedding ceremony consists of two stages. Abstract

Abstract: The aim of this study was to development of worksheets topic energy in live for junior high school grade seven with scientific approach to improve science process skills. This study held on June until December 2014. This study conducted with assessment worksheet paper, respondent paper, and observation scientific process skills paper. The assessment worksheet paper consist of 27 items and is 4 aspects. The aspect are content expert, linguist, presentation expert, and to encourage students to learn and work scientifically. This study was conducted using method of Research and Development of model ADDIE. The result showed of the experts’ assessment who developed products of content experts was very valid (M=3.53), linguist was very valid (M=3.48), presentation experts was very valid (M=3.51), and work scientifically was very valid (M=3.41). In addition for the scientific process skills students have achieved good category. That result indicated the product that has been developed worthy used in science teaching in schools and can improved science process skills. Abstract

Abstract: This research was about the ability of the students in constructing yes/no questions. The aim of this research was to find out the ability of the second year students of SMP As-Shofa Pekanbaru in constructing yes/no questions. The population was 138 students. The sample was chosen through cluster random sampling and lottery technique. The analysis was based on giving test to the students. It was found that 20 out of 138 students were 1 student (5%) in excellent level, 5 students (25%)in good level, 10 students (50%) in mediocre level, 2 students (10%) in poor level and 2 students (10%) in very poor level. The mean score of the students was 51,81. It implies that the students’ ability falls into mediocre ability level. Based on the result, it is recommended that teachers should pay attention more on material yes/no questions escpecially in using did.Key Words: Ability, Constructing, Yes/No Questions.
