Abstract

Abstract: This research was conducted aimed at knowing the effect of service quality on the participation of members of the Village Unit Cooperative (KUD) of Sawit Jaya District bangkinang Kampar Regency. The population in this study was members domiciled in Bukit Payung Village, Laboy Jaya Village, Desa Sembilan and Suka Mulya Village which numbered 1619 people. A sample of 95 people was taken with the Slovin formula with Purposive Sampling technique. Data analysis techniques using Validity Test, Reliability Test, Nomality Test. Then the data is analyzed with simple linear regression, Test F and Determination Coefficient to find out the quality of service of partitioned members. Based on the research obtained the results of a simple linear regression analysis where the calculation results showed F-calculate > F-table (Fcaltung 29,775 > Ftabel 3.94) and the effect of service quality on the participation of kud sawit jaya members was 24.3% while the rest was influenced by other factors not studied in the.Key Words: Quality of Service, Member participation

Abstract

Abstract: This research is motivated by Culture is a way of life that is developed and owned by a group of people and is passed down from generation to generation. Culture is made up of many complex elements, including religious and political systems, customs, language, tools, clothing, buildings and works of art. Culture is complex, abstract, and broad, many cultural aspects also determine communicative behavior as well as foreign cultures. The problem formula in this study is whether there is an influence of foreign culture on the nationalism attitude of Foreign Language students at Riau University. Students in foreign language education are active in organizing activities that carry both English and Japanese culture, especially in Japanese culture which is famous for its unique characteristics, from clothing to animated films that are popular with teenagers and adults alike. One of the activities of students majoring in Japanese is BUNKASAI, which includes many items for competitions (competitions) and events such as Cosplay which feature animated film clothes by Japanese artists. While the activities of English students are more focused on forms of expression of language mastery such as the English Olympiad, but if foreign cultures are consumed by many students, this is certainly the opposite of the role of the students themselves. Students are expected to have a high attitude of nationalism because students are a moral force, namely a group of people who have good morals, and students as social control, which means controlling social life, controlling social practices carried out by the community, especially the attitude of nationalism. The purpose of this research is based on the formulation of the problem. and according to the background that has been described, the purpose of this study is to determine whether there is an influence of foreign culture on the attitude of nationalism of foreign language students at the University of Riau. Influence is the power that exists or arises from something (person or thing) that helps shape the character of belief and a person's actions, culture or culture comes from the Sanskrit language, namely buddhayah, while foreign culture is a culture that comes from outside the area that is accepted and lived by a community who lives in its own area. Attitude According to Secord and Backman in (Azwar, 2002) Attitude is a certain order in terms of feelings (affection), thoughts (cognitive), and predisposition of one's actions (konasi) to an aspect of the surrounding environment, Nationalism is a nationalism that arises because of equality. fate and history, as well as the interest tolive together as an independent, united, and sovereign nation. Students are the names for people who are currently pursuing higher education in a tertiary institution consisting of high schools, academies, and most commonly a university. in research management using quantitative methods, The population in this study were all students of English education study program and Japanese language education study program at Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Riau University, totaling 768 people, namely 490 English students and 278 Japanese language students, and 77 samples were taken. Data collection techniques using observation, interviews, and questionnaires. Based on the results of research conducted in the field, it can be concluded that the results of the regression model analysis in the F test show that the value of f-count> f-table is 25.475> 3.97, meaning that there is a significant overall effect between foreign cultures on the nationalism attitude of foreign language students at the University. Riau. In the t test, it was found that the value of t-count> t-table was 5.047> 1.671, which means that H_1 was accepted, meaning that there was a significant influence between foreign culture on the nationalism attitudes of foreign language students at the University of Riau.Key Words: Influence, Attitudes, Foreign Culture, Nationalism

Abstract

Abstract: This study examines the community’s perception of the development of a publik creative park tourism object, Pangkalan Kerinci District Pelalawan Regency Riau Province. There is a process of selection, preparation, and interpretation in perceiving a tourist attraction. The purpose of this study was to determine how well the public’s perception of the development of the Public Creative Park tourism object, Pangkalan Kerinci District Pelalawan Regency Riau Province. This type of research is descriptive research with a quantitative approach, ini which the data collection process is carried out through a questionnaire and distributed to respondents who were selected as research samples. The sampling technique in this study was simple random sampling. The results of this study found that the Public Creative Park tourism object, Pangkalan Kerinci District Pelalawan Regency Riau Province based on indicators was classified as high. The indicators used in this research are selection, preparation and interpretation.Key Words: Community Perception, Tourism Object Development

Abstract

Abstract: This research was motivated by the existence of mining without a permit in the village of Kasang Limau Sundai, is an acronym for (Gold Mining Without Permit) which is carried out by some people and other elements. The formulation of the problem in this study is how the community's perception of the implementation of Presidential Instruction Number 3 of 2000 concerning the Coordination of Handling Problems of Mining Without Permits in Kasang Limau Sundai Village, Kuantan Hilir Seberang District. The research objective was to determine the community's perception of the implementation of Presidential Instruction Number 3 of 2000 concerning the Coordination of Handling Problems of Mining Without Permits in Kasang Limau Sundai Village, Kuantan Hilir Seberang District. Data collection techniques in this study were observation, interviews and documentation. There were 8 respondents in this study, namely: 2 village government officials, 2 traditional and community leaders, 4 community members. The data analysis technique used qualitative methods. The results of this research can be explained that the community's perception of the efforts made by the government in dealing with mining problems in Kasang Limau Sundai Village, where mining activities have positive and negative impacts. The government's obstacle in dealing with the problem of PETI activities is the lack of legal apparatus involving the government as well as traditional leaders and communities in the village concerned, besides that the level of community awareness is still lacking about the impact that will be caused.Key Words: Public Perception, Presidential Instruction No. 3 Year 2000, Overcoming PETI

Abstract

Abstract: The learning device developed in this research was a physics learning tool in the form of a concept understanding test instrument. The purpose of this research is to produce a valid concept understanding instrument on the material of vibrations and waves. This research is expected to be a reference in making a valid test instruments, especially on the vibrations and waves material. The type of research is Research and Development (R & D) by using the ADDIE Model. However, this research is only limited to the development stage. The research instrument was used a validation assessment sheet for the Concept Understanding Test Instrument used by the validator to assess learning devices. The analysis data for this research was used descriptive analysis by calculating the validity score of each indicator of the learning devices. The results showed that the Concept Understanding Test Instrument was declared valid with the overall percentage of the device is 83.75% in the Very High category. So that it was declared acceptable for use in learning to test the level of conceptual understanding on the subject matter of vibrations and waves in class VIII of Junior High School.Key Words: Test instrumen of concept understanding, ADDIE model, vibrations and waves.

Abstract

Abstract: This research is aimed to find out what culture and how culture were implemented in English textbooks for third grade students of Junior High School. The data of this research were the English textbooks entittled Bahasa Inggris Think Globally Act Locally revised 2018, English in Focus for grade IX Junior High School and Bright an English Course for Junior High School revised edition. The sample in this research was word, pictures,illustrations, reading passages and other many activities in each textbooks. The data were collected by using a checklist format based on the framework from Cortazzi and Jin (1999). There are two aspects have been analyzed: Big C and little C. The findings of the research revealed that Source Culture was the most appeared in these three English textbooks as categories of culture, and Product was the most frequently appeared in these three English textbooks. As the result of research, it found that the textbook is more likely to promote our local culture ( Source culture) in learning English and make into product of culture rather than any aspect of categories of culture and elements of culture..Keywords: English Textbook, Junior High School, Cognitive, Psychomotor.

Abstract

Abstract: The objectives of the research were to find out the problems faced by the teacher in the process of teaching English to the deaf students and how to overcome the problems. The research object were the first grade deaf students of SLB Negeri Siak and the subject of this research was an English teacher of SLB Negeri Siak. This qualitative research used a case study method. The data were collected by using interview. The researcher used member checking technique to show the trustworthiness of the data. The results of this research showed that the problem that teacher faced varies and the most crucial problem is the abilities of the students heterogeneous. Based on the theory of Thompson (2012) the teacher has followed the instruction to teaching for deaf student by following her own way to solve the problem.Key Words: Problems, Teaching English, Deaf Students

Abstract

Abstract: The research aims to investigate the effect of Discovery Learning Strategy on the ability of the second year students of SMPN 1 Sungai Mandau in comprehending narrative texts. In conducting the research, pre- experimental research with one group pre-test post- test design was used. The sample of this research was the students of class VIIIc which consisted of 29 students. The pre- test was administered before the treatment. After the treatment was applied for four meetings using Discovery Learning Strategy, a post-test was administered. The data were analyzed using the t-test formula. From the calculation, the writer found that the value of t-test was 2.311 while the t-table was 2.048. Since the t-test value was larger than that of t-table, the alternative hypothesis of this research was accepted and null hypothesis was rejected. It means that there was a significant effect of Discovery Learning Strategy on the ability of the second year students of SMPN 1 Sungai Mandau in comprehending narrative texts.Key Words: Reading,Reading Comprehension, Discovery Learning Strategy, Narrative Text

Abstract

Abstract: This research belongs to descriptive research which uses a quantitative approach. The research was aimed to find out the ability of English study program students in identifying noun clauses. The population of this research was the fifth-semester students of the English study program of FKIP Universitas Riau with a total number of population is 110 students. The number of the sample in this research was 36 students, selected by using the cluster random sampling technique. A multiple-choice question test about noun clauses was used as the instrument which consisted of 30 items. There were eleven forms of noun clauses based on the types of each function of noun clauses. The result of the research shows that the mean score of the students in identifying noun clauses was 64. In brief, the English study program students’ ability in identifying noun clauses was categorized into a good level ability.Key Words: Students’ Ability, Identifying, Noun Clauses

Abstract

Abstract: The problem in this study is the lack of running speed on the men's futsal team at SMP Negeri 13 Pekanbaru, because players are slow to run to open up space forward and when they are about to counterattack the players are also very slow to run to open space to the opponent's defense area so that the opposing player has returned defensive position so the opportuAnity to score a goal has been closed. The title studied in this study is "The Effect of Ladder Speed Run Training on Running Speed in the Men's Futsal Team of SMP Negeri 13 Pekanbaru". So that the future goal for players to be able to show even better performance during futsal training and matches. The form of this research is (one group pretest-posttest design) with the population of the men's futsal team at SMP Negeri 13 Pekanbaru. The data in this study were the entire population of 10 people. The instrument used in this research is to use the 30 Meter Run test, which aims to find out how much influence the player's speed has. To test for normality using the Lilifours test at a significant level of 0.05α. Based on the analysis of the normality test of X data, it produces Lcount of 0.210 and L table of 0.285, meaning L count < L table. while the variable Y produces Lcount of 0.205 and L table of 0.285. This means Lcount < L Table. then the data is normally distributed. Thus it can be concluded that for the influence between the x variable and the y variable based on the t-test analysis, it produces tcount > t table, namely (9,138) > (1,796), then Ha is accepted, in other words there is a significant influence on the effect of ladder speed run training on running speed. on the men's futsal team of SMP Negeri 13 Pekanbaru.Key Words: Ladder Speed Run Exercise, Running Speed
