Abstract

Creative industries are currently growing rapidly in supporting local economic competitiveness. In the course of the development of creative industries are very dependent on the 4 strategic aspects, namely: interrelated industries, supporting the institution, consumers and government policy. In this framework, the research on the state of creative industries become very urgent to be done to create economic competitiveness and strategic influence in employment. The study found that government policy in the creative industries are still not optimal in supporting the advancement of creative industries so that necessary arrangements are needed in this aspect.Keywords: Interrelated industry, supporting institution, government policy and creative industries.

Abstract

Purpose of this research is to analyze the effect of service quality dimensions, which include physical evidence, reliability, responsiveness, assurance, and empathy, on customer satisfaction of BPR X customers, Malang District. The research method is using explanatory research which defines the casualistic relation between variables by hypothesis tests. Population in this research is 171 micro business owners who are the common credit/loan users of BPR X, Malang District. Using Slovin formula and probability simple random-sampling method, samples of 64 respondents are generated, data are collected using questionnaire, then processed using multiple linear regression analysis. Findings show that physical evidence, reliability, responsiveness, assurance, and empathy affect customer satisfaction simultaneously. Partially physical evidence, reliability, responsiveness and assurance affect the customer satisfaction, while empathy doesn’t affect the customer satisfaction. The dominant variable is assurance. These findings are hoped to be an input for BPR management in Malang District to increase the service quality dimension in order to increase customer satisfaction.Keywords: physical evidence, reliability, responsiveness, assurance, empathy, servqual, customer satisfaction

Abstract

This study used mixed methods: Grounded Theory of Mode 2 which focused on application for management science and supported by Experimental Design. It is resulted ” A Competitive Stakeholder Theory” with Theoretical Propositions are 1) CSR (Triple Bottom Line philosophy) and Stakeholder Theory are competing theories considered as strategic management to achieve objectives through value maximizing. The goal of Stakeholder Theory is pro all stakeholders involved. Every stakeholder including shareholder shares and creates values together which are useful for themselves. 2) Stakeholder Theory is a dynamic process that contributed by Power and Control of Stakeholders embedded in ethics/philosophy; Existing Issues; Cost Effective Strategies; Moral and Trust; PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act); Recognition and Creating Values. They are a continuous process and have an interrelated relationship. In addition, pre and post interventions in society showed dramatically in reducing communicable diseases. Workplace performed high productivity among workers. Good overall score of Malcolm Baldrige Score Card indicated the quality management of this CSR was in place. It is suggested this Stakeholder Theory would be applied at stable situation and at unstable situation such as uncertainty, turbulence, limited resources, remote areas, minimizing risk and issues of social responsibility. Although the CSR implemented in exploration phase or has not produced yet, there would be value creation for all stakeholders involved particularly community.Keywords: CSR, Stakeholder Theory, Competitive, Value Maximizing

Abstract

The research and observation about the balance in the application of decentralization principle, deconcentration principles and medebewind for the relationship between control and local in Indonesia research was conducted at East Java Province from April to October 2009. This research uses qualitative research methods by data collecting technique, interview and documentation of seconder data from province secretariat office, DPRD, secretariat and board of province beside that the researcher also asks opinion from the experts. The result of the researches is that the intensity of the application of decentralization principles is higher than the application of deconcentration principles in east Java, there is proper contimation on the application of this principles which gave impacto the affectivity and efficiency at the public service for society.Keywords: Decentralization, public service, society.

Abstract

Accountability is an important value in the governmental operation. To know the governmental accountability level, it should be arranged measurement and reporting system. Governmental Institution performance Accountability System (SAKIP) is responsibility instrument that consist of some indicators and measurement activity mechanism, assessment, and performance reporting comprehensively and integrally to fulfill the obligation of certain governmental institution in responsible for success/failure in the main task execution and function and the organizational mission. The research aimed at knowing the process, results, and impact of governmental performance accountability policy execution (AKIP) that is embodied in the form of Governmental Institution Accountability Report (LAKIP). Based on process evaluation standard and field finding results, it is concluded that the AKIP policy implementation process in the form of LAKIP can be said ”not success yet”, although procedurally and in format the LAKIP has been suitable with the determined guideline, but substantially found many inappropriateness or incompletion yet of each SAKIP component as the process evaluation standard.Keywords: accountability, government, performance

Abstract

The Objectives of this research are to examine and to provide empirical on about the influence of human resource empowerment, directly and indirectly, through organizational change as well as its ability in adapting to change. In details, the objectives of the research are as follow: (1) Human Resources Empowerment toward organizational change, (2) Human Resources Empowerment toward organizational resilience, (3) Human Resources Empowerment toward performance organization, (4) Organizational resilience toward organizational change, (5) Organizational resilience toward organization performance, and (6) Organizational change toward performance organization. The results of this research, is expected to be able to enrich the knowledge of management, especially on the development of human resource management and organization. Therefore, this study will hopefully be useful will be useful for both academicians and practitioners. The population of this research is 69 star hotels, in East Java and 34 hotels as the samples using proportional sampling method. The respondents of this research are 216 hotel managers. The main findings of this research showed that the performance the organization performance is improved when the human resource is empowered is participation to achieve goals, commitment, and greater authorities and responsibilities in decision making process. Greater influence is achieved when the organization is able to adapt to the change of the hotels’ environment.Keywords: Human Resources Empowerment, Performance of Organization, Organizational Change, Organizational Resilience

Abstract

This research aims to testify and analyzing the influences of leadership toward employee performance, leadership toward consumer satisfaction, leadership toward organization cultural, individual characteristic toward employee performance, individual characteristic toward consumer satisfaction, organization cultural toward consumer satisfaction, employee performance toward consumer satisfaction. This research designed by using Structural Equation Modeling Analysis. The analysis unit are civil employee performance in Cultural and Tourism Agency on 7 (seven) governments of second regencies in East Java province and its tourism industry consumers, all at once as respondent in this research. The result of Structural Equation Modeling testing: H1, H2, H3, H4, H5, H6, H7 and H8, its influences be larger. Satisfy consumer of tourism industry can be done with improving the employee performance of Cultural & Tourism Agency of East Java Province, through human resource development, with increasing people tourism awareness.For the middle and higher level leaders, in running duty shall be more get priority to pay attention in horizontal work system and improving their leadership effectiveness, developing their capabilities, to creating work climate which supporting and motivating their subordinates. For people of East Java is necessary to improving tourism awareness, either public people, Employees of Cultural & Tourism Agency, and inter Agencies in Province Governmental; and it can be seen from findings of researchers in East Java, Yogyakarta, and Bali.Keywords: Leadership, individual characteristic, organization culture, employee performance, consumer satisfaction.

Abstract

The taking place of absent increase at PT. Hassco Multi Kimindo on January through August, 2010 from 2.5% to 3.3% was a phenomenon must be settled. The phenomenon was supported by data regarding the delay of project handling, in which on February the project handling was delayed for 4 days, on June it delayed for 6 days, and on August it delayed for 7 days. This research had the purpose to know the effect of work setting on working discipline at PT. Hassco Multi Kimindo of Sidoarjo.Data used in this research were primary data namely data were collected via questionnaire distributed to respondents that are the employees of PT. Hassco Multi Kimindo of Sidoarjo. Measurement scale used was the interval scale with measurement technique by level 1–7. The sampling technique was by the probability sampling exactly the simple random sampling (randomly sample taking) in which each of respondents meeting the population characteristic had the equal opportunity to be made as sample. Sample taking was based on the SEM assumption that the sample size was 5–10 times of estimated sample namely among 80–160.Keywords: Work Setting and Working Discipline

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the entrepreneurship communication factor, entrepreneurship learning and attitude toward small business performance. This study took a sample of 140 small business owners in the town of Pare Pare using questionnaires, observation, interviews, and documentation to collect data. The data analysis technique used is Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The findings showed that communication factor entrepreneurship, entrepreneurial learning and entrepreneurial attitude significantly influence the performance of small businesses. This leads to the implication that to predict the performance of small business formation should be taken into account the amount of communication variables entrepreneurship, entrepreneurial learning and entrepreneurial attitude either partially or simultaneously, and the contribution of these variables on the performance of small businesses providing real significance, either partially or simultaneously. Based on these findings it is suggested to: (1) The Policy-makers (Government); for the development of small businesses not only conducted with the provision of venture capital, but combined with human resource development so as to obtain a quality selfemployment, (2) Small Business Owners (Entrepreneurial) ; to equip themselves with techniques to communicate effectively, improve product quality through the study of entrepreneurship, and develop their entrepreneurship attitude , (3) Manufacturer Education Curriculum; for economic education has a mission of implementing entrepreneurship education, then it is proper curriculum and learning strategies or changes adjustment, started revising material entrepreneurship, especially in formal education (schools), and (4) Researcher; need to assess the external factors affecting the performance of small businesses, expand the research variable indicators, developed with quantitative approach, and assess the small business at large.Keywords: communications entrepreneur, entrepreneurial learning, entrepreneurial attitude, and performance of small businesses

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to analyze the contribution of functional management in the implementation of firm strategy which consists of 1) production management, 2) marketing management, 3) financial management, 4) human resources management toward the achievement of firm performance approach both simultaneously and partially.The result of this research and hypothesis testing show that 1) simultaneously, functional management in the implementation of firm strategy gives positive contribution to performance achievement of manufacture firms, 2) Partially functional management consist of: 1) production management, 2) marketing management, 3) financial management, 4) human resources management in the implementation of firm strategy gives positive and significant contribution to performance achievement of manufacture firm based on the balanced scorecard approach.Keywords: Functional Management, Implementation Strategy, Balanced Scorecard, Performance
