Abstract

Abstract: One of the parameters for determining the quality of health services in hospitals is the information documented in a good and complete medical record (MR). Medical record completion by a physician within 24 hours is a standard quality of care in UNISMA Islamic Hospital Malang. One of these indicators that has not yet been achieved is the 24 hours postadmission MR completion rate of 50% from the 100% standard. This study aims todetermine the impact of work motivation on physician performance in completing MR, moderated by the individual characteristics (gender, age and tenure). This study is an observational researchusing cross sectional approach, involving 45 physicians as respondents. Data were collected using questionnaires and MR completion checklists, with five medical records assigned to each respondent, and were analyzed using linear regression test. The results showedthat gender, age, and years of service do not moderate the impact of work motivation on physician performance in completing MR (p ≥ 0,05). This suggests that the management team does not need to consider individual characteristics in an effort to improve the physi- cian performance in completing MR through increased motivation.

Abstract

Unlike other previous researches on  privatization, this research is a critical study with a combination of nonmainstream approaches by a qualitative approach through a disconstructive discourse analysis that elaborates a sharp critique of the structural and NeoMarxist theory on developmentalism within the relationships of the state, the market and the civil society. Results show that in the case of privatization policy of PT Semen Gresik Tbk, interrelationships between the state and the market is dualistic; in certain periods the state enables the market, in other times it constrains the market's opportunity. Akin to the dualistic and domineering nature of economicpolitical structure, interrelationships of the state and the market is asymmetrical, in which the state dominates the civil society, while that of the market and the civil society is asymmetrical, in which the market dominates the civil society. To balance the roles of the state, the market, and the civil society, an intervention by a democratic administration in a symmetrical relationship is needed for the civil society's interests. This research recommends the necessity for the state to put an end to multidimensional crisis by nationalizing assets, for example by buying back the shares of PT Semen Gresik Tbk that were relinquished to foreign investors.

Abstract

This study examined the impact of the Firm characteristics and the investmen opportunity set against executive remuneration. This study also explained the role of institutional ownership in moderating the relationship between firm size, sales and growth of the cash compensation. Data was taken from a listed company in Indonesia Stock Exchange 2011-2014 which has an executive compensation data in Swa Magazine survey. The compensation data are taken from Survey conduct by Swa Magazines, not directly from annual and financial reports. This is because very few Indonesian public companies that explicitly stated their remunerations in Annual Reports or Financial Reports. Investor could have additional information to invest in stock market. Data were analyzed using OLS Regression. A Company is fundamentally good and a trusted is a company that has an assets, sales, and high managerial compensation, but has a majority of institutional ownership of the total ownership structure. This study used institutional ownership as a moderating variable not managerial ownership such as in previous studies. That wascaused by the capital market condition in Indonesia as the concentration of institutional ownership is higher than the market or management. The results showed that the firm characteristics has an effectto the company's executive remuneration. Furthermore, institutional ownership has a negative moderating effect on that relationship. That results wasaccordance with the Power Theory that the high institutional ownership may limit the amount of executive compensation.
