Abstract

This research emphasizes the procedure of the educational policy making rather than its product, the focus of the research in that sence elaborated into the following questions: (1) how is the description of the existence of planning unit on the official structure?. (2) how is the description of analysis procedure and formulation of educational policy?. (3) how is the implementation procedures of educational policy?, and (4) how is the monitoring and evaluation procedure of educational policy? This research used qualitative approach with the study design of multi-cases. The research findings can be summarized as: (1) the activities of planning unit of official structure, (2) analysis procedure and educational policy formulation, (3) implementation procedure of educational policy, (4) monitoring procedure and evaluation of policy.

Abstract

Problems of PDAM now a days as a BUMD mostly are low performance and loss which is experienced in almost each operational year. Company performance, observed from its relationship with leadership which is influenced by compensation policy, can create job satisfaction and motivate that leader. Leadership, in its activities will result attitude style, show leadership style, and the managerial competence of a leader in order to influence organizational performance. The goal of this research is to reveal: (i) the strength of the influnce of compensation toward job satisfaction, leader motivation, and company performance, (ii) the strength of the influence of leadership style in the perception of leadership style: transactional, transformational, and servant, toward company performance. The institutional unit analysis, sampling frame is the direction of PDAM in eight provinces in Indonesia, include 108 PDAM. The respondents in this research are 324. Response rate is 48,15% from 52 PDAM. The survey method is used to measure the respondent perception. The sampling technique is using closed and open questionnaires, and interview is based on the Purposive Sampling Quota by sub group the populations. Statistical analysis is used to test the hypothesis using the model Structural Equition Model (SEM). The findings of this research are: (i) the appearance of differing variables between the the groups of leaders and of non-leaders in its relationship with the company performance, which is the servant leadership style, (ii) compensation strategy which influences job satisfaction can motivate leaders dan reach their goals only through the practice of servant leadership style, and (iii) compensation which influences extrinsic and intrinsic of company leaders then influences transactional leadership style specifically.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of leadership, internal control system, and organizational commitment on the accountability of village fund management in Kampar and Siak Districts. A total of 164 financial management officials from 218 villages in 15 subdistricts in Kampar and Siak Regencies were selected as the respondents. The villages are located in coastal areas and watersheds. The data were obtained by distributing questionnaires distributed directly to the respondents. The data were analyzed using multiple linear regression. The results show that leadership, internal control system, organizational commitment affect significantly the accountability of village fund management. Future research on the same issue may examine both internal control and external control system.

Abstract

The objective of this research is to examine financial ratios of accrual basis, financial ratios of cash basis, industry relative ratios of accrual basis, industry relative ratios of cash basis and sensitivity toward macro economic indicators as financial distress predictors and to develop a financial distress prediction model as early warning system for go-public enterprises in Indonesia. From the analysis, it was found out that the significant variables in terms of forming prediction model to be successful is interpreted, consisting of four financial ratios of accrual basis variables, two industry relative ratios of accrual basis variables and one industry relative ratios of cash basis variable. Abstract

In accordance with the technology development, the beauty variation and mode in Indonesia also develop, signed by the development of cosmetics product with various types and complete colors choice. The cosmetics companies are expected to be proactive on facing the technological changes and the strict competition by giving excessive values to the products, so that each of the product will bring the different impression. The consumers always evaluate the products which are considered fulfill their needs and look for the information which are relevant with their needs before making decision to buy the products. This research aim at knowing the factors that influence the decision of buying the face cleaner namely Ovale and knowing the significance of those factors. This research uses factor analysis as the instrument to identify the significance level of the factors which influence the decision making to buy the Ovale face cleaner. The result of this research shows there are three main factors which influence the consumers to buy Ovale face cleaner i.e., product, price, and promotion factors. The result of hypothetical test shows that product factors is the most dominant factor that affect the consumer to buy Ovale face cleaner.

Abstract

Employees are one of the main resources of the organization that has an important role in carrying out activities and determining policies in the organization. Companies need to be able to improve employee performance and create a sustainable competitive advantage. The application of human resource management practices can improve employee performance. But several studies state that intrapreneurial behavior and soft skill also affected it.This study aims to analyze the relationship between human resource management practices, intrapreneurial behavior, and soft skills on the performance of employees working at PT Perkebunan Nusantara XI. The integrated research model was developed by combining three main variables from various literature. Primary data was collected through 150 questionnaires for selected employees working in the head office and production work units. The validity and reliability of the model are tested using by structural equation model. This study was conducted at a state-owned agribusiness organization based on crosssectional data, so it cannot be generalized to a wider range of sectors. The results of this study showed that the variables of human resource management practices and soft skills significantly influence employee performance. The results of the study have the potential to assist policymakers, stakeholders, and organization management in adopting well-articulated findings to improve the quality of human resources and create sustainable competitive advantages. This study contributes to the expansion of literature based on empirical evidence relating to the relationship of human resource management practices, intrapreneurial behavior, and soft skills.

Abstract

Restaurant business has grown and developed quickly from time to time. This development of restaurant business depends on competitiveness culture include : entrepreneurship, innovation, organizational learning and market orientation in restaurant business. Because of that, it is needed a good performance to increase restaurant services. The aim of this research is to analyze the significant effects among entrepreneurship, innovation, organizational learning and market orientation on restaurant business performance. And to analyze the dominant effects to restaurant business performance. This research was conducted to restaurant entrepreneur in Malang using purposive sampling method, with the sample of 144 respondents. The data were collected using questionnaires, observation and interview. The analytical tools used in this research to answer the research hypotheses was Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA), whereas, to detect the dominant effect using multiple regression analysis. The results of this research shows that: entrepreneurship and innovation factors have a positive effect to restaurant business performance. Whereas, marker orientation have negative effect and organizational learning have no significant effect to restaurant business performance. Among those four factor, innovation have dominant effect to restaurant business performance.

Abstract

Vast business development in Indonesia has caused the rise of business groups conglomeration. This phenomena brings both positive and negative social-economic impacts. The negative is that costumers, small and middle class business players becoming weakened. Monopoly and trust has been a crucial problem in this country. The larger the company, the larger its possibility to be involved in monopoly. Big companies and their conglomerations acquisited almost entire markets and therefore prohibited some new entry barriers consisted of middle-lower business players from entering the markets. The monopoly would have been formed when a company or a group of companies had aquisited 40% of the market. Law No 5 Year 1999 On Monopoly Prohibition and Unhealthy Business Competition, in general contains 6 parts of regulations: on prohibited types of husiness contracts, prohibited activities, dominant position, the foundation of Business Competition Monitoring Commission (KPPU), law enforcement and some other rules. This article seeks to describe several aspects of efforts for preventing unhealthy business competition through law and regulation in order to create a fair and condusive business atmosphere.

Both second, creating process and atmosphere learn to teach capable to awaken and creativity menumbuhkembangkan and innovation and also enthusiasm and spirit of learning student. Abstract

The research was intended to verify the determinants of websites usage as learning media based on Theory of Reasoned Action (TRA) and Theory of Technology Acceptance (TTA). The population was all bachelor degree students of Economic Faculty at State University of Malang, which studied major subjects of marketing at 2nd semester in 2007/2008. The population size was 344 students. The Davis-Cosenza's formula was used to determine the sample size of 183 students. The Likert-five point scale was used as a research instrument. Furthermore, the data were analyzed by structural equation modeling. The findings fully confirmed the measurement model of TRA and TTA, and the structural model of TRA, while the structural model of TTA was confirmed by adjustment of its measurement model.
