Abstract

Determining the economic value of forest rehabilitation activities is important to provide the real value of the resource based on the community's perspective. Meta-analysis of the effectiveness of the economic value approach in forest rehabilitation programs is a systematic review that aims to collect and analyze data from various studies that have been conducted regarding the effectiveness of the economic approach in forest rehabilitation programs. Based on the results of the study, it shows that forest resource economics has a very fundamental position in forest management, without consideration or economic analysis, forest management efficiency is difficult to achieve. Evaluations of forest and land rehabilitation that have been carried out to date are still focused on activity accountability, only using measurements of the percentage of plant life, tree height, and level of health of plants resulting from forest and land rehabilitation, which is not enough to evaluate the total success rate of forest rehabilitation. The need to consider economic aspects as part of the design and strategy of forest rehabilitation projects.

Abstract

The decline in rice production can pose a risk to Indonesia's food sovereignty. To ensure the sustainability of agriculture in general and food supply in particular, the concept of sustainable development needs to be implemented. Purwodadi District, which is one of the rice production centers in Musi Rawas Regency, has an advantage because all of its rice fields are irrigated by an irrigation system. Currently, many farmers who previously planted rice have switched to fish farming and building swallow's nests, which has resulted in a narrowing of the area of rice fields. This study aims to analyze the sustainability status and sensitive attributes in rice farming efforts in Purwodadi District, Musi Rawas Regency, South Sumatra Province. The research method used was an interview with a questionnaire which was then analyzed using the Multidimensional Scaling method. The results of the study showed that the sustainability status of rice farming efforts in Mardiharjo Village, Purwodadi District, had a sustainability index of 60.21, which can be categorized as quite sustainable. A total of 16 sensitive attributes have been identified as significant factors and influence the sustainability of rice farming efforts

Abstract

The low productivity of rice in Seluma Selatan District is caused by fertilization actions based on general recommendations and not based on site-specific recommendations. In fact, fertilization should be based on soil nutrient status, especially N, P and K. This study aims to determine the nutrient status and evaluate the suitability class of lowland rice in Seluma Selatan District, Seluma Regency. This study used survey methods, soil sampling, and laboratory analysis, then matched it with the soil fertility level classification system and land suitability classification. The results showed that the nutrient status of paddy fields in Seluma Selatan sub-district in low-medium rice fields was categorized. It is characterized by an acidic pH value and low P2O5 in providing nutrients for lowland rice plants. Evaluation of land suitability in Seluma Selatan sub-district shows that the land suitability classes are S2 and S3.The results of the evaluation of the most suitable land suitability for land unit 2 (Au.1.1.1) were quite suitable for S2n with available nutrient limiting factors at the P2O5 level and marginally suitable for S3n on land unit 4 (Hab.1.1.1) with available nutrient limiting factors at P2O5 and K2O levels. Efforts to improve the suitability class S2 (fairly suitable) can be increased to S1 class (very suitable) and the S3 land suitability class (marginally appropriate) can be increased to S2 (quite suitable).

Abstract

Use of state-owned land along river setbacks is a common phenomenon in densely populated urban areas. This study analyzes how communities utilize state land on the banks of the Jeneberang River and their motivations for settling there, which may trigger tenurial conflicts. The research was conducted in Bontoala and Taeng Villages, Pallangga Subdistrict, Gowa Regency, South Sulawesi, using a qualitative approach with in-depth interviews, field observations, and document review. Findings show that residents use the riparian zone for housing, small-scale enterprises (scrap collection, kiosks, livestock), and everyday social activities. The main motivations to reside in the area are economic factors (access to low-cost/abandoned land), locational advantages (proximity to Makassar and strategic for livelihoods), and socio-cultural factors (family inheritance, traditions, and community ties). However, this illegal use has implications for environmental degradation, declining river quality, and the emergence of potential horizontal and vertical conflicts over land tenure legality. The study underscores the need for regulatory measures and sustained public outreach to prevent conflict escalation in river setback areas.

Abstract

Environmental issues have become a global concern that requires serious attention, including in the education sector. This study aims to evaluate the "One Class, One Pot, One Tree" program as a sustainability design strategy for environmental management at SMP Negeri 1 Warureja. The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach with participants including students, teachers, and the principal. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, and analysed thematically. The findings revealed that student participation reached 85%, reflecting the success of the experiential learning approach. The program also positively impacted the school environment, with an increase in green spaces by 35% (52.5 m²) and a reduction in the average environmental temperature by 1.5°C. However, challenges such as limited water resources and busy schedules were identified. Local community involvement and integration with the curriculum present opportunities to enhance program sustainability. In conclusion, the program not only improves students' environmental awareness but also establishes a sustainability education model that can be adopted by other schools in Indonesia.
