Abstract

ABSTRACT Pangkalpinang is ‘the main gate’ into Bangka Belitung province for the tourists from various destinations, both domestic and foreign. Physical infrastructure and human resources become one of the important prerequisites to make Bangka Belitung ready become a ‘global tourism destination’. This study aims to map and track the foreign language capacity of tourism actors in Pangkalpinang and try to find out the interesting things related to the condition of foreign language literacy. Through an analytical qualitative approach with a descriptive approach reinforced by mini surveys, FGDs, and in-depth field interviews, the study ultimately found that foreign language capacity, especially English, has been found to be approximately 30 tour guides who can speak English, even though their ability is still very limited. There are four Mandarin speakers, and one German speaker. Meanwhile, tour operators in hotels, museums, and disbudpar are generally able to speak English. However, the condition is still very minimal. It is due to their basic ability to communicate during short meetings only, and on average it is still with a memorization system. This condition is very influential on the development of regional tourism which automatically affects the economic resilience in Pangkalpinang

The results show that integrating local history into educational materials has a positive impact on students' understanding and appreciation of their cultural heritage, leading to increased engagement with local traditions and values. The resulting history e-book not only improves students' historical knowledge but also strengthens local cultural identity and resilience. This research concludes that the integration of cultural values in education can contribute to the development of local identity and resilience.

Abstract

ABSTRACTRegional resilience is a key component in supporting national resilience through stable food security. Cavendish bananas have significant potential as a leading commodity with growing domestic and international demand. However, the development of Cavendish banana cultivation in Indonesia still faces significant challenges, such as the attack of Fusarium wilt Tropical Race 4 (TR4), dependence on a single variety, and low adoption of modern agricultural technologies. This study aims to analyze the influence of farmer empowerment in Cavendish banana cultivation to strengthen regional resilience. Data collection was carried out through an in-depth literature review of various sources related to farmer empowerment and regional resilience based on Cavendish banana cultivation. SWOT analysis was used to identify the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats in farmer empowerment in Cavendish banana cultivation. The results indicate that farmer empowerment contributes to increased income, diversification of processed products, and strengthening agribusiness competitiveness. However, main challenges such as dependence on a single variety and vulnerability to diseases need to be addressed. This study suggests diversifying banana varieties, adopting modern agricultural technologies such as tissue culture, and strengthening government policies to improve farmers' capacity and biosecurity management. This approach is expected to create a sustainable agricultural system that is adaptive to environmental and market changes.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe agricultural sector plays an important role and makes a significant contribution to Indonesia's Gross Domestic Product (GDP). One of the leading agricultural commodities that has great economic potential is Aglaonema. Seeing the great potential of this commodity, Department of Sleman Regency Agriculture, Food and Fisheries carried out an Extension Program for Aglaonema Cultivation in Godean District, Sleman Regency. The aim of this research is to evaluate the implementation of Bimtek in fostering the entrepreneurial spirit of community. The research method used was descriptive qualitative using the Context, Input, Process and Product (CIPP) evaluation model. This research was conducted in Godean District in June 2024 using a purposive location selection method, it was the place where the extension program was implemented. The data used was primary data and secondary data. The primary data collection technique was carried out by direct interviews with several key implementation informants and extension participants. The research results show that (i) context evaluation, the extension program is considered successful by the community because there are facilities and infrastructure that support the cultivation of Aglaonema, including a suitable climate, availability of water, fertilizer, planting media, and space for cultivation. This motivates people to cultivate and do Aglaonema business. (ii) For input evaluation, the extension program was considered successful by the community because the organizers provide the facilities needed by the community to start cultivating Aglaonema, including seeds and planting media. (iii) Regarding the evaluation process, the extension program is also considered successful by the community because it teaches direct practice on how to plant and do Aglaonema business by experts. (iv) For product evaluation, the extension program is also considered successful by the community because it is considered to increase public knowledge in cultivation and increase motivation to do business with Aglaonema plants.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThis study aims to analyze how Facebook Marketplace contributes to the digital resilience of millennial farmers in adapting to agribusiness transformation, particularly in terms of market access, digital literacy, and business innovation. This research employs a qualitative descriptive method with a phenomenological approach, collecting data through in-depth interviews and participatory observations. The interviews explore farmers' motivations, perceptions, and challenges in adopting this platform, while observations examine their interaction patterns with consumers.  The findings indicate that Facebook Marketplace plays a significant role in strengthening the digital resilience of millennial farmers by expanding market networks, enhancing digital literacy, and fostering innovation in agribusiness strategies. However, challenges such as limited digital infrastructure and technological literacy gaps remain major obstacles. Therefore, this study highlights the importance of improving digital skills and strengthening infrastructure as key factors in the success of agribusiness digital transformation. The primary recommendation of this research is the implementation of continuous digital training programs for millennial farmers to optimize the use of digital platforms in agribusiness development.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe article aims to provide solutions to reduce the potential for conflict in Maluku through a local identity education approach as cultural resilience. This research seeks to find opportunities for local governments in preserving the local identity of the Maluku people through the conservation of the names of Maluku people. The research method uses a qualitative approach with descriptive explanation. Data collection techniques in this study were conducted by using purposive sampling technique. Data collection was carried out primarily through in-depth interviews, and supplemented with secondary data from scientific journals, books and online news, including from government websites. The name data is then analyzed by coding based on language or words which are then classified into several categories. This study uses data analysis techniques through data reduction, presentation, and verification. The results of this study indicate that the names of Maluku people are local identities that play an important role in building national identity. This research is expected to be of concern to academics, other researchers, and the government in assessing policies and managing potential conflicts. The government can approach the cultural conservation of the names of people typical of the Moluccas through local identity education as a nationally integrated

Abstract

ABSTRACT Disasters are events that threaten people's lives and can cause loss of life, property, as well as environmental and psychological impacts. Landslides, as one of the natural disasters, occur due to slope instability triggered by geological and hydrological factors. Ngargosari Village, Kecamatan Loano, Purworejo Regency, has a geographical condition of steep hills with an altitude of ±450 meters above sea level which makes it prone to landslides. This research aims to increase community resilience to landslides through a community-based mitigation approach and appropriate technology in the KOSABANGSA program. The method used includes preparation, implementation, and evaluation stages. Mitigation activities include socialization, geological survey, vulnerability mapping, installation of early warning system (EWS), evacuation signs, preparation of evacuation fixed procedures, and implementation of evacuation simulation. Evaluation results show an increase in physical resilience through the availability of evacuation routes and EWS that function in real-time. The community's capacity resilience also increased, as shown by the average score of disaster understanding at 78% and infrastructure understanding at 86%. EWS implementation and participatory education proved effective in improving community preparedness. A collaborative approach between academics, village government, and residents is a key factor in building a resilient and sustainable mitigation system
