Abstract

Abstract Islamic (community) schools and mosques are extremely important sites for religious education, language and culture maintenance and religious rituals and practices for a large number of Muslim Australians,  These institutions remained significant and symbolic of Islamic identities despite rampant anti-Muslim sentiments:  attacks and threats against Muslim institutions (mosques and Islamic schools) and individual members of the Muslim community and negative media portrayal. Despite these hostilities and tensions, a case study conducted in Adelaide and Darwin shows that the Muslim community holds the view that the attitudes of Australian wider community toward their institutions are mixed with more positive than negative attitudes for which they blamed the media.   Abstrak Beberapa sekolah (komunitas) dan tempat peribadatan Islam  merupakan bagian yang sangat penting untuk pendidikan keagamaan, pelestarian bahasa dan budaya, dan praktik keagamaan bagi hampir semua masyarakat muslim di Australia.  Beberapa Rutinitas seperti ini masih signifikan dan menjadi simbol identitas bagi seorang muslim terlepas dari sikap sentimentil terhadap kaum muslim yang merajalela: seperti serangan dan ancaman terhadap institusi muslim (masjid dan sekolah islam), individu muslim itu sendiri dan penggambaran negatif terhadap islam itu sendiri. Terkait permusuhan dan ketegangan yang sedang terjadi saat ini, sebuah studi kasus yang dilakukan di Adelaide, dan Darwin mengemukakan bahwa komunitas muslim masih berpandangan bahwa sikap masyarakat Australia secara luas terhadap institusi mereka bercampur dengan sikap yang lebih positif daripada sikap negatif dari apa yang ditujukan oleh media.   How to Cite : Dialo, I. Abstract

Abstract This research aims at knowing and finding empirical data about the influence of independent variables, i.e., parenting and emotional quotient on students’ social skills as a dependent variable.This study employed a quantitative research design in the form of ex-post-facto or causal comparative with the 3x2 factorial design. The method used to collect the data was surveyed with a questionnaire. The data were analyzed by using two-way analysis of variance. The samples are 172 students of the elementary school in Mustika Jaya Bekasi. The result of this research showed that the social skills gained by the students with democratic parenting on average were highest among others. Further, the students having high emotional quotient showed better social skills compared to those with low emotional quotient. The students raised with democratic parenting both with high and low emotional quotient earned the highest social skills. Students with high emotional quotient nurtured by permissive parenting showed better social skills than those raised by authoritarian parenting. In contrast, students with low emotional quotient raised with authoritarian parenting produced better social skills than those nurtured by permissive parenting. So, there is the influence of parenting and emotional quotient on students’ social skills at 6th Grade of elementary schools in Mustika Jaya Bekasi District. Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dan menemukan data empiris tentang pengaruh variabel bebas, yaitu pola asuh dan kecerdasan emosional terhadap ketrampilan sosial siswa sebagai variabel dependen. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan penelitian kuantitatif dalam bentuk kompresif faktual atau komparatif kausal dengan 3x2 desain faktorial. Metode yang digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data adalah survei dengan kuesioner. Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan analisis varian dua arah. Sampelnya adalah 172 siswa sekolah dasar di Mustika Jaya Bekasi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa keterampilan sosial yang diperoleh siswa dengan pola asuh demokratik rata-rata paling tinggi. Selanjutnya, siswa yang memiliki kecerdasan emosional tinggi menunjukkan kemampuan sosial yang lebih baik dibandingkan dengan mereka yang memiliki kecerdasan emosional rendah. Para siswa yang diangkat dengan pola asuh demokratis baik dengan kecerdasan emosional tinggi maupun rendah memperoleh keterampilan sosial tertinggi. Siswa dengan kecerdasan emosional tinggi yang dipelihara dengan pola asuh permisif menunjukkan kemampuan sosial yang lebih baik daripada yang diangkat oleh pola asuh otoriter. Sebaliknya, siswa dengan kecerdasan emosional rendah yang diangkat dengan pola asuh otoriter menghasilkan keterampilan sosial yang lebih baik daripada yang dipelihara oleh pola asuh permisif. Jadi, ada pengaruh parenting dan emotional quotient terhadap keterampilan sosial siswa di kelas 6 SD di Mustika Jaya Kabupaten Bekasi.Kata kunci: orangtua orangtua, kecerdasan emosi, keterampilan sosial. Abstract

Abstract Metacognitive is knowledge and understanding of the cognitive process or knowledge of mind, and it’s work. Metacognitive is needed on solving the problem. Every student has different metacognitive abilities. This research is to describe students metacognitive level on solving chemicals molarity problem. This research was held in SMAN in South Tangerang, by 104 students as the subject research. This research is a quantitative descriptive by the essay results as the data. This result is analyzed, and the metacognitive level is stated based on the indicators. As the results of this research are 14.42% students are in Aware Use level, 73.08% in metacognitive Strategic Use level and 12.50% in metacognitive Reflective Use level. Metacognitive Reflective Use is the level for the high score students. Metacognitive Strategic Use is for middle score students. And metacognitive Aware Use for the low score students. Metacognitive Strategic Use level as the average. Most of the students can use and realized the right strategy on solving problems. Male students have a metacognitive level that is higher than for women. Abstrak Metakognitif adalah pengetahuan dan kesadaran tentang proses kognisi, atau pengetahuan tentang pikiran dan cara kerjanya. Dalam memecahkan masalah kimia, memerlukan keterlibatan metakognitif. Setiap siswa memiliki kemampuan metakognitif yang berbeda-beda. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan level metakognitif siswa dalam memecahkan masalah pada materi kelarutan dan hasil kali kelarutan. Penelitian ini dilakukan di SMA Negeri di Tangerang Selatan dengan subjek penelitian sebanyak 104 siswa. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif sehingga datanya berupa hasil tes essai. Hasil tes essai tersebut  dianalisis dan ditentukan level metakognitifnya berdasarkan indikator yang telah dibuat. Hasil yang diperoleh dari penelitian ini adalah sebanyak 14.42 % siswa berada pada level metakognitif Aware Use, sebanyak 73.08 %  siswa berada pada level metakognitif Strategic Use dan sebanyak 12.50 % siswa berada pada level metakognitif Relective Use. Siswa yang memiliki hasil belajar yang tinggi di dalam kelas berada pada level metakognitif Reflective Use. Siswa yang memiliki hasil belajar yang sedang di dalam kelas berada pada level metakognitif Strategic Use. Dan siswa yang memiliki hasil belajar yang rendah di dalam kelas berada pada level metakognitif Aware Use. Rata-rata level metakognitif siswa berada pada level metakognitif Strategic Use, karena rata-rata siswa dapat menggunakan dan menyadari strategi yang tepat dalam menyelesaikan masalah, tidak hanya mampu memahami masalah. Abstract

Abstract The focus of this study is increasing creative problem-solving study through creativity training programs for teacher trainee Tarbiya and Teaching Science. Results of previews research in relation to structured programs for fostering creative thinking and problem-solving abilities include the Productive Thinking Program (Covington, Crutchfield, Davies, & Olton, 1972, the Purdue Thinking Skill Program (de Bono, 1973, 1976, 1983). These studies investigated differences in student primary,  elementary and high school creative thinking while this study investigates the creative teaching  problem-solving in adult learner the PGMI (Teaching Trainee for Elementary),  The experiment was conducted in firsts semester of the school year 2015/2016 0f  2 September, 25 –December 2015. ( The main objective of this study to answer the question whether teaching creative increase the ability of the trainer teacher to respond to the varied challenges on their elementary student in a creative manner. The creative training program consisted of class discussion and also active stimulation creative problem-solving. The Participant of this research is PGMI students age 19-20. Classes manipulate by teaching creative or student discussion. The result showed that experimental class increases creative problem solving then discussion class. The recommendation for teacher use teaching creative in the class room. Abstrak Fokus pada penelitian ini adalah pembelajaran untuk meningkatkan pemecahan masalah secara kreatif melalui program pelatihan kreativitas untuk bidang ilmu Tarbiyah dan Keguruan. Hasil penelitian pratinjau dalam kaitannya dengan program yang terstruktur untuk meningkatkan pemikiran kreatif dan kemampuan memecahkan masalah, diantaranya yaitu Program Berpikir Produktif (Covington, Crutchfield, Davies, & Olton, 1972, Program Keterampilan Berpikir Purdue (deBono, 1973, 1976, 1983). Penelitian tersebut telah menginvestigasi perbedaan pemikiran kreatif pada siswa SD, SMP dan SMA sedangkan penelitian ini menyelidiki pengajaran pemecahan masalah pengajaran kreatif pada pelajar dewasa yaitu untuk PGMI (Pendidikan Guru Madrasah Ibtidaiyah). Percobaan ini dilakukan pada semester pertama tahun ajaran 2015/2016, 2 September- 25 Desember 2015. Tujuan utama penelitian ini yaitu untuk menjawab pertanyaan apakah pengajaran kreatif dapat meningkatkan kemampuan guru pelatih untuk merespon terhadap tantangan yang variatif pada siswa SD mereka secara kreatif. Program pelatihan kreatif terdiri dari diskusi kelas dan juga stimulasi aktif yang kreatif dalam pemecahan masalah. Peserta penelitian ini adalah siswa PGMI usia 19-20 tahun. Kelas dimanipulasi dengan pengajaran kreatif atau diskusi siswa. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa ada peningkatan pada  kelas eksperimen dalam pemecahan masalah secara kreatif dibanding kelas diskusi.Direkomendasikan agar guru menggunakan pengajaran kreatif di ruang kelas. Abstract

Abstract This paper aims to review the changing roles of madrasah in Indonesian education, identify challenges and opportunities of madrasah and examine the adaptability of madrasah to global challenges. Historical and sociological approaches were used in order to understand the changing social and political contexts. It is assumed that the main challenges that madrasah is facing is no longer how to internalize Islamic values within the context of nation state, but how prepare young Muslims to play important roles in the globalizing world by pushing role of information technology. In addition, this paper also discuss how the dynamic of global values challenges and influences the well-established Islamic values. The major finding of the study is that while successful in promoting the idea of nation state through its curriculum and school traditions during the New Order Era in Indonesia, madrasah is currently struggling to adapt to the rapidly growing communication technology, implies that Indonesian government supports technology to increase role of madrasah. Abstrak Artikel ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji perubahan peran madrasah dalam pendidikan di Indonesia, mengidentifikasi tantangan dan peluang madrasah dan menguji kemampuan adaptasi madrasah terhadap tantangan global. Pendekatan historis dan sosiologis digunakan untuk memahami konteks sosial dan politik yang berubah. Diasumsikan bahwa tantangan utama yang dihadapi madrasah bukan lagi bagaimana menginternalisasi nilai-nilai Islam dalam konteks negara bangsa, namun bagaimana mempersiapkan pemuda Muslim untuk memainkan peran penting di dunia global dengan mendorong peran teknologi informasi. Selain itu, artikel ini juga membahas bagaimana dinamika nilai-nilai global menantang dan mempengaruhi nilai-nilai Islam yang mapan. Temuan utama dari penelitian ini adalah ketika berhasil mempromosikan gagasan negara dan bangsa melalui kurikulum dan tradisi sekolahnya selama Era Orde Baru di Indonesia, madrasah saat ini berjuang untuk menyesuaikan diri dengan teknologi komunikasi yang berkembang pesat, menyiratkan bahwa pemerintah Indonesia mendukung teknologi untuk meningkatkan  peranan  madrasah. Abstract

Abstract This research was aimed at knowing the relationship among three variables, genre awareness (X1), critical thinking disposition (X2), and reading comprehension (Y). The study was conducted at SMAN 4 South Tangerang, and the participants were 180 students of the twelfth-grade students. A quantitative method was used to get through this research using the correlation as the design. Some instruments were developed to collect the data; they are tests (genre awareness test and reading comprehension test) and questionnaire to measure students’ critical thinking disposition adapted from Facione (2000). In data analysis, r product moment and R multiple regression coefficient tests was applied to test the correlation value through SPSS 21 program. The research found that (1) there is a correlation between genre awareness (X1) and reading comprehension with correlation value ro 0.876 which is higher than 0.05, (2) there is a correlation between students’ critical thinking disposition (X2) and their reading comprehension (Y) with value ro 0.263 which is higher than 0.05, (3) there is a simultaneous correlation among students’ genre awareness and critical thinking disposition with their reading comprehension with correlation value Ry.12 0.881 and the ρ-value = 0.00 < 0.05 meaning that the Ho is rejected. The contribution of X1 and X2 to support the Y variable is found as 77.5%, or it is stated that reading comprehension success is determined by students’ genre awareness and their critical thinking disposition. Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui hubungan tiga variabel yaitu, pengetahuan genre (X1), sikap kritis (X2), dan kemampuan membaca (Y). Penelitian ini dilakukan di SMAN 4 Tangerang selatan dan siswa kelas XII sebagai populasi penelitian. Seluruh populasi 180 siswa dipilih sebagai sampel. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode quantitative dan model korelasi sebagai desain penelitian. Adapun untuk menjaring data, ada beberapa instrument penelitian yang digunakan yaitu tes (test pengetahuan genre dan tes pemahaman membaca) dan kuesioner sikap kritis Facione (2000). Untuk menganalisa data, penelitian ini menggunakan r product moment dan R uji koefisien regresi ganda melalui program SPSS 21. Penelitian ini membuktikan bahwa: (1) terdapat hubungan antara pemahanan genre (X1) dan pemahaman membaca siswa (Y) dengan nilai korelasi rhitung 0.876 yang mana lebih besar dari 0.05; (2) terdapat hubungan antara sikap kritis siswa (X2) dan pemahaman membaca (Y) dengan nilai indeks korelasi rhitung 0.263 yang mana lebih besar dari 0.0; (3) terdapat hubungan yang simultan di antara ketiga variable penelitian X1, X2, dan Y dengan indeks korelasi Ry.12 0.881 dan ρ-value = 0.00 < 0.05 yang menyatakan bahwa Ho ditolak. Kontribusi variable bebas terhadap variable terikat adalah sebesar 77.5%, yang manadapat dikatakan bahwa keberhasilan pemahaman membaca ditentukan oleh pengetahuan siswa terhadap genre dan sikapkrits mereka. Abstract

Abstract This qualitative research is a philosophical review about analyzing how circumcision can (cannot) be morally justified. It is typically assumed among Muslims that circumcision is mandatory according to Islamic law (Sharia). However, in this paper, I will argue that this is not clear in Islamic texts. Because firstly there is no textual evidence in the Quran about this matter and secondly permissibility of circumcision is not an agreed topic among Muslim scholars. This entails that circumcision is not a necessary part of being a Muslim. Although this idea seems idiosyncratic according to the majority of Muslims, I’m inclined to emphasize that we should not marginalize this idea, rather we have to support it for educational prosperity in Muslim communities. But perhaps more importantly this paper helps to introduce new Muslim intellectuals’ argument that moral reasoning is independent from (and even superior to) Islamic law. Since we do not have ultimate and decisive secular reason (e.g., medical reason) against male circumcision in every occasion, therefore, morally speaking, I believe it is not reasonable to say that male circumcision is always wrong. Muslims who support male circumcision still can find some secular reasons to defend this from their cultural identity. Abstrak Penelitian kualitatif ini merupakan tinjauan filosofis yang bertujuan menganalisis bagaimana sunat dapat atau tidak dapat dibenarkan secara moral. Ummat Muslim beranggapan bahwa hukum sunat adalah wajib menurut hukum Islam (Syariah). Akan tetapi, dalam tulisan ini, saya akan berargumen bahwa belum ada penjabaran yang pasti perihal asal hukum wajib pada sunat ini dalam Islam. Argumen ini memiliki dua alasan. Alasan pertama adalah tidak ada bukti tertulis dalam Al Qur'an tentang asal hukum wajib sunat ini dan alasan kedua adalah pembolehan sunat bukanlah topik yang disepakati di antara para cendikia Muslim. Atas dasar tersebut, keadaan yang mensyaratkan seseorang untuk sunat bukanlah hal yang wajib untuk menjadi seorang Muslim. Meskipun gagasan ini tampaknya idiosynkratik menurut mayoritas umat Muslim, saya menekankan bahwa kita tidak boleh menyisihkan gagasan ini, tetapi kita harus mendukungnya untuk kemakmuran pendidikan di komunitas Muslim. Kendati demikian mungkin yang lebih penting lagi bahwa tulisan ini membantu untuk memperkenalkan argumen intelektual Muslim yang baru bahwa penalaran moral adalah independen dari (dan bahkan lebih tinggi dari) hukum Islam. Karena kita tidak memiliki alasan kuat dan alasan sekuler (seperti alasan medis) terhadap sunat pada laki-laki didalam setiap keadaan. Kendati demikian, secara moral, saya percaya bahwa tidak beralasan untuk mengatakan bahwa sunat laki-laki itu selalu salah. Abstract

Abstract This paper offers a solution to Indonesia’s mission of investing EFL listening materials with character education in higher institutions. The character is seen as a dimension of content competence, namely attitude. Developed by using Content-Based Instruction approach, the alternative view is reflected through listening materials design to target strengthening moral values, principles, and attitudes. The framework argues that listening materials should accommodate the need to tailor materials for teaching, rather, than for assessment. It also responds to the ubiquity of English as a Lingua Franca. It argues that the investment of character education leads to learning targets that allow students to become concerned, informed, and involved in developing themselves as citizens, and to respond to 21st-century language competences, especially in the ability to embrace cross-cultural understanding and in the use of digital technology in classroom language learning. The proposed framework is offered as decisions made on the materials’ resources, method of development, activities, and assessment.   Abstrak Artikel ini menawarkan solusi terhadap misi Indonesia untuk berinvestasi pendidikan karakter di dalam materi ajar Listening untuk pembelajaran di pendidikan tinggi (universitas). Karakter dimaknai sebagai kompetensi isi yaitu perilaku. Rancangan materi ini dikembangkan dengan menggunakan pendekatan berbasis isi (Content-Based Instruction). Kerangka rancangan alternatif ini bertujuan untuk menguatkan nilai-nilai moral, prinsip, dan perilaku. Dengan kerangka berfikir bahwa materi Listening seharusnya dibuat untuk tujuan belajar (learning) daripada untuk asesmen semata-mata, maka materi ajar harus mengakomodasi pola ini. Rancangan materi ini juga merespon kehadiran perspektif English as a Lingua Franca. Hal ini bermakna bahwa investasi pendidikan karakter hendaknya bermuara pada tujuan-tujuan pembelajaran yang menciptakan pembelajar menjadi pribadi yang perhatian, cakap pengetahuan, dan partisipatif dalam mengembangkan dirinya sebagai warga negara. Selain itu rancangan materi ini juga merespon pentingnya tercapainya kompetensi berbahasa abad ke -21 khususnya kemampuan pemahaman lintas budaya dan penggunaan teknologi digital untuk keperluan pembelajaran di dalam kelas. Abstract

 Abstract The existence of Professional Teacher Education program (PPG) becomes a demand after the Law of Teachers and Lecturers (UU G-D) requires professional teachers to have an educator certificates. Professional education contains practical activities of applying academic educational ability in professional activities of teachers in schools along with systematic supervision mechanisms and in a relatively adequate time (at least one year or two semesters). The substance of the Teacher Professional program curriculum rests on the accommodation of teachers' competence, pedagogic, professional, personal, and social. The demands of the teacher's competence spawned several offers of learning expenses that became a person's reinforcement to become a professional teacher, whether related to the content of teaching materials or the strengthening of teaching skills. The structure of the PPG program curriculum contains workshops on learning tool development, teaching exercises through micro teaching- learning, peer learning, and field experience programs (PPL), and pedagogy enrichment programs. Abstrak Keberadaan Program Profesi Guru (PPG) menjadi tuntutan setelah UU G-D mempersyaratkan guru profesional memiliki sertifikat pendidik. Pendidikan profesi berisi kegiatan praktik menerapkan kemampuan akademik kependidikan dalam kegiatan profesional guru di sekolah disertai mekanisme pembimbingan dan supervisi yang sistematis dan dalam waktu yang relatif memadai (sekurang-kurangnya satu tahun atau dua semester). Substansi kurikulum Program Profesi Guru (PPG) bersandar pada akomodasi tuntutan kompetensi guru, yakni pedagogik, professional, personal, dan  sosial. Tuntutan kompetensi guru tersebut melahirkan beberapa tawaran beban belajar yang menjadi penguat seseorang menjadi guru professional, apakah terkait dengan konten  materi ajar atau penguatan teaching skill. Struktur kurikulum program PPG berisi lokakarya pengembangan perangkat pembelajaran, latihan mengajar melalui pembelajaran mikro, pembelajaran pada teman sejawat, dan program pengalaman lapangan (PPL), dan program pengayaan bidang studi dan/atau pedagogi.
